Yummy food, ambience and super personable. I got the Basil fried rice with chicken extra spicy. I asked for no soy sauce and they said they could do it. That made me happy! They also had Thai peppers in fish sauce. (I feel better not eating soy even though I'm half Korean.) My hubby got the red curry with chicken. Dissappointingly bad. Nam sod was probably the worst i ever had. Chicken sate was ok (very difficult to mess this up, i guess). Shrimp Drunken Noodle was about 90% noodles and 10% shrimp. Tom yum guy soup was about 3*. Padthai was 1*. Service was good. read more

My first adventure into Thai food, I went safe with sweet and sour. It was unremarkable and I got half a bite of straight ginger, whew that was terrible! I'm sad because I really wanted to like this place. I must say the crab rangoons were tasty but it's hard to ruin these creamy little concoctions. Then, we waited an hour, yes an hour, for our checks. The waiter couldn't get them right and I felt like, he must be new or not that smart. We were charged for things no one got, orders were split wrong, and it was pretty annoying to witness his ineptitude. Sorry about the rawness here. I'm usually so positive! St Augustine finally has a real Thai restaurant. These are the same people who opened Galangal in the early 2000's. If you are there, you know how wonderful the food is. We had pad Thai, green curry, and the amazing. The amazing is broccoli, spinach, protein of your choice served with the peanut sauce. It was quite tasty. I have great trepidation in writing my review, as, the Libby's is amazing and a pinnacle of excellent Thai food served in an impeccable space. My trepidation comes a selfish place: not wanting others to find out about it, and therefore having a crowd. The service is on-point, the waitstaff and owner make the patrol feel welcomed, appreciated but not crowded. I enjoyed the Thai egg rolls as an appetizer,, shared with my hubby. First time here it was very good. We got shrimp pot stickers and chicken satay the peanut sauce was awesome. Everything was fresh and put together very well. Salad with ginger vinegarette dressing was a nice change from the heavy peanut dressings so often served. Kiew Wan (Green) Curry was a blend of sweet, savory, spicy and crunchy. Our waiter told us the beautiful green sauce is thanks to the pureed fresh organic baby spinach. Ginger Sticks Chicken had just the right blend of ginger & garlic. It took 20+ minutes to prepare and it was the smallest portion of dried out, sauce-less, nothing I'd ever had. It was more like something you'd expect in a Ole El Paso taco shell. Oh boy. OH BOY! I am rarely at a loss for words---and that's not really the problem---I mean there are so many crap words zooming around in my head fighting to get out and shout out a warning. If I had a hammer, a bell, and a song, I would eat them,because they would certainly be better than anything you will get at Libby's thai bistro. I'll start with how the food is unmitigated sh*t. Entrees come with a molded, soup can shaped rice for your pleasure---and management made sure to buy the cheapest rice available, the broken up kind that when you chew it, you think your teeth are falling out. Where is the big bowl of tender, steaming jasmine rice that most thai places bring to the table? One of our apps was an eggroll, unlike any eggroll you've ever had--just like their spring roll--absurdly tiny and not fried in an eggroll wrapper. I still don't know what the wrapper was, and when I say tiny, think half the size of a roll of quarters (being generous here.) i had a beef curry, with the meat so tough it had to have come from somewhere near the hoof. Wife showed her smarts: she stopped at the weird "eggroll", and wasn't tempted by my curry. So.......NOTHING SPECIAL HERE, and actually NOTHING EDIBLE HERE. Why drag out to a dismal strip mall to waste your money? Bad Thai food probably the worst I have ever had. Pad Thai was tasteless. No tofu. Barely any egg. The noodles were a black color. We also had drunken noodles which had no pork or basil in it. It was just black noodles and should have been a wider noodle. The other dishes we ordered were meatless but should have had meat and just basically peppers & onions in a sauce.
