I have been to Libations two times with my boyfriend and we have never been disappointed with our food or our waitresses. However, the hostess is always less than welcoming. For our first visit, the front lobby was full of people just standing around and it appeared as though we were interrupting our hostess when we walked up to the front desk. For our second recent visit, the hostess rolled her eyes and gave an exasperated sigh when we asked for a table. Her negative attitude continued as she walked us to our table without anymore interactions. This behavior almost made us turn around and leave. The greeter is the first person you see at an establishment and should be the start of a great experience. I'm not sure if we would visit again anytime soon. read more

Been here many times with a very good experience, but once again, for the forth time in 3 months, we were told a 30 to 40 minute wait for a seat at the bar. Needless to say, there were at least 10 to 15 empty seats at the bar. This is the only place in the SP area where we have a 30 to 40 minute wait at 1115 am. read more

We went to Libations for Easter brunch. I was nervous based on previous reviews, it seemed hit or miss. But we had a GREAT experience. The place wasn't even half full for our 1:00 reservation. We were seated quickly, and the high chair for my daughter was already set up. Server came over within 30 seconds and got my drink order. My parents arrived just after that, and my dad was having low blood sugar so I asked another server to get him an orange juice right away - she was very friendly and accommodating and quick. We were very appreciative. The menu was pretty large, with lots to choose from. I had the eggs Benedict, my mom had an omelette and my dad had the pancakes. Everything was great. The fruit served on the side was fresh and delicious. Amazing coffee. My mom had a mimosa but said it was ok, not great. The restaurant has really nice decor, it has high ceilings and an open feel. The bar has 4 huge leather couches which were very comfortable- I sat in there with my baby for a bit as she was fussing. Really liked the dishes- they were very pretty and made you feel at home. Service was friendly, prompt and accommodating. My mom ordered biscuits after our food has already arrived and our server brought them out quickly, but without butter and jelly, so she had to wait a but for that but wasn't a big deal. Towards the end of the meal he offered dessert, coffee etc and we didn't feel rushed. The other servers were friendly too, stopping by to say hi to my daughter. I was impressed on the first 3 courses she brought out on time and times well as opposed to on-top of each other. We were part of a party of 12 and things were smooth. Went on a Sunday morning at 10:30. The place was totally empty and they open at 10 which was strange considering $3 Bloody Marys and Mimosas. We ordered blueberry pancakes with cheddar cheese grits and The Millersville club. The blueberry pancakes and cheddar grits were great. The Millersville club would've been better without Dijonaise and with mayonnaise instead. Both were so large we took half of it home. The Bloody Mary was very good, but would have been better with olives. It was only served with a stick of celery and an orange slice but for $3 I didn't expect much. The mimosa was small and not much but again, you get what you pay for. The service was great! Friendly attentive staff but we were the only people in the entire restaurant for an hour and a half so after reading other reviews I am not sure it would be the same under different circumstances. read more

You won't catch me give one- star reviews unless everything possible could go wrong. Pandemic considered I would still give zero stars if I could but Yelp won't let me. Called to make brunch reservations for yesterday. The gentleman who took the reservation was professional and nice. I believe he was the same person who greeted us at the door. We were asked to choose between bar area, main dining room, or patio. We chose dining room. It took a solid ten minutes for our waitress to come greet us. 15 minutes for her to bring our drinks. 2 sodas, an iced coffee, and two regular coffees. I asked for a lot of cream when she initially took our drink order. She returned with our drinks and 4 creamer packs. Not a big deal asked her for more. She returned 10 minutes later. Well now our coffees are cold. Ordered more coffee. Forgot the cream again. Took 35 minutes for our food to come out. Forgot to bring an extra plate, forgot silverware. I'm surprised she didn't forget to breathe. No sense of urgency. You must think the place was packed- 3 tables including ours and only two belonged to her. If this is the kind of service they provide it definitely explains why the place was empty. Extremely disappointed to the point where I can't review the food. It's pointless. read more

My sister wanted to do something different for a Sunday Funday instead of her favorite Sunday Happy Hour (Four Seasons Grille Crofton) and for some reason she's always wanted to visit Libations in Millersville. Even though I completed a review on this restaurant before that was all the more reason why I didn't want to go but unfortunately off we went. My sister and cousin arrived before I did and found solace on one of the sofas. Upon arrival, our waiter Brian (who was also acting as one of the bartenders) greeted me at the table and I ordered my signature drink (The Cosmopolitan which is tagged in the check in picture). When Brian finally brought my drink back, I quickly realized that it was made with more vodka and minimal triple sec; I politely informed him of the error and he went back to bar to correct it. Once it was time for us to order food, I looked at the extensive menu and finally got exhausted with trying to review everything on the menu and just decided on Old Bay wings and their shoestring fries. When I started to eat the wings, they didn't seem cooked all the way and there was a lot of fat on them (very chewy.) After I ate through about 4 wings, I noticed that there was a little blood on the plate (that was a complete turn off for me). I immediately threw my linen napkin over the plate and sent it back without ordering anything else. My first thought was, "how in the heck can anyone mess up Old Bay Wings? It's just fried chicken with old bay seasoning on it" My sister ordered the flatbread and Old Bay wings, unfortunately she sent the flatbread back but her wings were ordered before mine so she was good with it. My cousin ordered the crab dip, Old Bay wings and a salad; she ate everything except for all of her crab dip. Because my food was so jacked up, I ended up eating the rest of her crab dip. For this visit, the only good thing was the ambiance and much needed girl time. I give this visit a whopping 1 star and I'm only being nice because the water was cool. Libations is a neighborhood restaurant that my wife and I visited for the first time on 10/8/2019. The interior of the Libations was inviting, with an ocean theme. I ordered a Glenfiddich on the rocks as my initial drink. My wife's choice was an Orange Crush. Top shelf scotch has been my drink of choice for two decades. I actually prefer Highland (25) to Glenfiddich. What I received was a glass of something that looked like weakened ice tea. The glass contained a single ice cube. After one sip of the liquid, I realized that the drink had been watered down. Additionally, there wasn't a great deal of "crush" in my wife's drink, which was also watered down. We ordered two cups of French onion soup as appetizers. As entree's we ordered a medium grilled steak sandwich and medium-rare Ranchero steak which was suppose to come with a ranch sauce and soft tortillas. Let's start with the cup of French onion soup, which was a concoction with several slivers of onions and cheese. Might I add that it took 45 minutes for entree's to arrive. It gave us plenty of time to eat the cold "not the French onion soup." To give the restaurant credit, my wife's grilled steak was tender. I on the other hand received well done tough leathery steak pieces with no sauce, overcooked rice, spicy beans, and something that was supposedly soft tortillas. I mention the tortillas because when you picked one up, the thing was so brittle that it broke apart between your fingers. Oh and all of the food brought to the table was slightly chilled to add to the issues. The only part of the meal served hot was the brittle tortillas. As a corporate executive, I at times travel for business in CONUS and OCONUS. With that said, I have dined at many restaurants. At times, a restaurant may make a mistake. However, I have never been to a restaurant that made so many errors, I had visions of the There Stooges behind the bar and the grill. Libations is a fairly decent place, in my opinion. They have a great selection of beer, it is a little pricy though. The food I've tried has been pretty good. I do think the menu is a little too varied for practicality; I don't sushi should be on the menu here, it's just not that sort of place. The only real complaint I have is that their closing time is based on "managers discretion" and there have been two occasions now thst I've been there; they had 5-6 other patrons at the bar and decided to close up before 11:00 p.m. I could understand if it were just a person or two, but closing early with 7 people seems a bit unnecessary. It has been a few months since I've last been so maybe these things have changed. Either way, it's worth a stop if you're in the area. read more

Stopped in for lunch to libations and was pleasantly surprised how delicious the food was. I've passed this place a million times but after reading other reviews I wanted to check it out I'm glad I did. We ordered crab dip and Mexican potato skins from the happy hour menu. The crab dip was super good it was rich, creamy, and thick it came with homemade potato chips and a pretzel stick, the Mexican potato skins were delicious as well I'm not usually a fan of potato skins but these were delicious they were stuffed with chorizo and Mexican chihuahua cheese. We also ordered the pot roast grilled cheese that our server recommended and I'm glad I did it's literally pot roast chopped up on thick Texas toast with gruyere cheese and comes with fries and au jus for dipping the taste was amazing you could taste the sherry or wine in the au jus we left full and happy. Our bar tender/server was so awesome and charismatic she made the experience that much better. She knew the menu well, offered suggestions, and was super bubbly and full of energy. We have been coming to Libations for years and always enjoy their drinks and food, especially my husband's favorite, the braised chicken tacos. We came in last night after a long period of not dining there. Some things have changed... first, it was Saturday night and it wasn't very occupied which is odd. Most of the staff is very young now, I'm talking looking like teenagers. I guess that's fine as long as you do a good job, but our bartender/waitress seemed very lost. I guess they started using an electronic method of ordering because she had a handheld gadget and boy did she get confused when the special soup of the day wasn't on there. I almost thought she was going to lose the capacity to continue on. Technology strikes again She also seemed to not know the whiskey menu very well when my husband ordered a flight. Basically had to repeat everything three times and even point it out. Our normal bartender/waitress was very educated and always did an awesome job; I hope she isn't gone. Our drinks were good as was the tots with crab dip. My Cajun crawfish bisque was also good. Now, the menu has changed some. A little better organization but some of our favorites are gone. My husband's favorite tacos, which is all he ever orders are gone. There is an impressive list of fancy new tacos so we went out on a limb and ordered the Carne Asada and pork belly tacos respectively. Both meats were way overcooked. Pork belly is supposed to be tender and a little fatty. This was cooked to leather. The carne asada was also charred and just not juicy or delicious. My husband barely choked them down and I simply only ate one taco. Our 'lost in the sauce' waitress returned to take our dessert order and couldn't remember any of the daily ice creams. She came back after writing them down. Not to be a nitpicker or rude, but half the items were misspelled. This is where I worry about the youngins coming in and taking over jobs. They can't be bothered to spell, learn the specials, learn the drinks, be attentive...it's just a very sad turn of events from the service we have had in the past. I mean, the food runner couldn't even put the correct order in front of me even after I raised my hand when he asked who had the pork belly. The work ethic is just not the same. Well, we ordered beignets and egg nog creme brûlée for dessert. Twenty minutes goes by and nothing. Another girl comes over during that time to inform us that our bartender went home at 7:30 and she would be helping us. Wow. Going home at 7:30 on a Saturday night because it's so slow and you don't even bother to tell your customers? More time goes by and we are convinced she either didn't put in our order before she left or didn't bother to tell anyone. Another girl (not the one who took over) finally comes over to check on us and we tell her we have been waiting on dessert and honestly at that point I didn't even want it anymore. She goes back and brings it right out. Meaning it had been sitting there for a while. Well, the beignets were not beignets. They were basically thick donut holes/funnel cake with a taste I didn't quite like. I couldn't even finish them. Beignets are supposed to be light, airy, delicious. My husband had egg nog pudding....the sugar top wasn't even hard like a proper creme brûlée should be. Come on guys. When the appetizers arrived(after an hour) I pulled hair from surface of the nachos. I realized these events happen from time to time and for me it is not a big deal. I removed the hair and started to eat the nachos. However, the first bite of the nachos revealed more hair. That is a big deal. It was apparent to me that the creator of these nachos was not wearing a hair net. A clear violation of heath code standards. I returned the dish immediately and informed the waitress of my findings. We also had to return the cream of crab soup, one on my favorite items on the menu, because it had a tremendous amount of salt and old bay. Someone must have miscalculated the amount required. Not a good day for the kitchen. When on entrees arrived, a women who identified herself as the accountant, help delivered the food with the waitress. She also made a confession to me that it was probably her hair as she was recruited to "help" in the kitchen. She stated to me that she made the nachos and did not have a hair net on. Came back again for Saturday bunch and it's da bomb! I ordered a create your own omelette with bacon, sausage, mushrooms, onions and peppers. I don't know what the chef did but he/she could create a delicious omelette and the eggs could be paper thin :) you have to see it and try it! It pairs with potato cake and it's a perfect match. My husband ordered from the brunch menu with French toast. IT IS A MUCH TRY!!! They stuffed the French toast with bacon and peanut butter and cinnamon. Topped with hot banana slices and whip cream! I have tried many different French toast from different places but this one is really unique and one of a kind - no need to mention it's real delicious. Cynthia is our waitress again and she carries on her professional attitude to serve us. We really had a great time and great food. Over time they've simply grown into the best destination for casual bar chill time in a 20 mile radius, easily. Unless the weather is divine and we're going somewhere on the waterfront, we go here. The drink menu is complete and excellent - all cocktails are top rate, specialty cocktails are fun and rotational, and the beer menu has led me (a very admitted beer snob) to several new favorites. I've mainly gone to Libations six-eight times to celebrate a co-worker's retirement or departure. They have a very good bar and bar food, and most importantly for me, an extensive draft beer list with clear descriptions and Alcohol Volume level so I can responsibly drink. I have not yet had a sit-down meal but hope to do so soon. read more

Oops I gave it too many stars... I've tried liking this place since it opened which is why I've waited over a year to post a review. There are so many things that are bad, I don't know where to begin, so I'll list the highlights first: Libations is less than three minutes from where I live and they offer an extensive craft beer list. Perspective - I've dined solo, with my wife, with my wife and kids and have hung out twice with the guys having beers and bar food. My one star review of Libations is the sum of 1/5 of one star for each visit for a total of 1 star... Atmosphere - bar area is ok, but feels like a poorly remodeled Courtyard by Marriott restaurant lobby bar. Food - inconsistent at best. Had one good meal of my 5 visits but was pricey and the service was poor. Other times (recently), I asked the bar tender how the pretzels were...she said they were great. Wow, they were terrible. Obviously frozen, tough, chewy and likely from a box that you can buy in the frozen food section of the grocery store. The bar tender took the $2.95 pretzel off the bill and never asked how things were when 5 guys (me and 4 buddies) weren't eating the pretzel or the chips and salsa/queso dip. Service - underwhelming and one would expect more attentiveness for the prices paid. Price - really expensive for what you get and overall experience. One meal was nearly $100 with tax and tip for my wife and I to have sandwiches, one app, a kids meal, iced tea and diet coke. Best previous review I saw: feels like an IHOP with 4* prices. I was so excited to try Libations as it's close to home and I love the owners' other restaurant, The Severn Inn. My sister & I went at 7:30pm on a Friday night. We almost walked out when we saw the dining room. It looks like a cavernous hall with two rows of tables, each pushed up against the wall so there's about an 8-foot gap between them. The bar seemed too bright and loud so we opted to try the dining room even though it did not look inviting. We're so glad we stayed! The menu was impressive - we spent a lot of time with it because there were so many things we wanted to try! We loved that you could order a variety of cheese, charcuterie, and tapas to start off with or have as a meal. We chose to start with the crab dip. It wasn't the best I've ever had - lacking in the jumbo lump that some dips in the area have - but very tasty. It was made better by the amazing chips & pretzel bread that accompanied the dip. The chips were obviously kitchen-made, tasted made-to-order. And the salted pretzel bread was outstanding too. I got the turkey burger and it was one of the best I've ever had. Served on a pretzel roll, it had a pineapple-chili sauce that gave it a very different sweet-spicy kick. I ate every bite and left the fries (which were good, but not hot when they got to the table). My sister got the Maryland fried chicken and she loved hers. It wasn't too greasy but still crispy & moist. It was served with a creamy spinach and mashed potatoes. The service was good. Our server was VERY nice and accommodating. I think they are still working out a few kinks. I ordered a cup of soup and it ended up coming out with my entree, when I didn't really want it at that point. My sister waited a while for a soda refill, etc. Nothing to complain to the manager about - hopefully it will just improve with some time. As far as atmosphere -- something really has to be done. I'm not sure if maybe the owners wanted to save some money in their early months, but a few simple changes could work wonders. High-back-style booths (like at Garry's or Lewnes) along each wall would make it cozier. The way it is, we felt like we were at a buffet or food court. I could so picture a row of 6-top booths along one wall, and 4-top booths along the other - problem solved! I know that all that wood work is expensive. However, in the current state, I won't be bringing out of town guests who I would want to impress, even though I think the food would do that. The first impression is just way too awful. Also, the water/soda glasses are plastic - like the kind Ledo's uses. That's fine for a pizza place, but when you're paying $15-25 for an entree, you want something a little more upscale. I look forward to returning b/c I really loved the food. I'll probably stick with lunch time and family dinners until they do something better with the atmosphere though. read more

I don't often write reviews......if I do, they tend to fall at the spectral extremes. Sadly, this review of my first visit to Libations will follow that trend. I met a few friends at the bar at 6:30 on a Friday night. As others have noted, the parking situation is horrible. The shared lot has been terrible for at least a year, and once Libations opened it only got worse. Now, with the ongoing construction of the Goddard School in the rear parking lot, finding a space is an absolute nightmare. Once inside, I found a space at the bar; happily, it had been secured by the early arrival of my very good (and very large) friend, Terry. The.crowd was light, and ordering from the bar's beer menu was a snap. Well, mostly.....when I could pin down one of the hyperactive bartenders. This happened less frequently than would have been optimal. Pint glasses sat empty far too often for far too long; a trend that never ended. Settled at the bar, I figured I would try some chow. I ordered the "Crab Meatballs" which were really just oversized crab-ball apps, only more interesting. The balls themselves weren't all that - but the Old Bay/horseradish/sour cream dip was phenomenal. Shame I couldn't say that about the rest of our evening Four times during my brief encampment at the bar, we were offered food which we had not ordered. Normally, I'm cool with this - but I was pretty convinced that someone else had ordered the calamari, cheesesteak and whatever else came my way, and I didn't want to rook anybody (or pay for erroneous food.) Looking past the food, we ordered more beers.....more Heavy Seas Small Craft Warning beers to be exact. And while we would have been very happy to quietly quaff our beers,what we got were absolutely NOT what we ordered. We ended up with a handful of somebody else's hoppy ales.....not bad, but not what we wanted. Did I drink them? Sure....I'm no pansy. At this time, two things happened: the bar filled up with preppy, Severna Park assholes....and the service got even slower. The bar crowd was three deep - clearly the staff was overwhelmed. So it was no surprise when my wife, who had ordered wings without my knowledge (and which had arrived only moments before,) asked for some extra napkins......and got COCKTAIL napkins. REALLY? Cocktail napkins? 5" x 5" squares of barely absorbent paper.....and you expect me to clean myself after gorging on sloppy (yet very tasty) wings? Seriously? So then, my brother/friend/confidant Big Terry has to leave.....for a job......and it's cool......so he orders four shots of Fireball whiskey. Four shots......roughly eight ounces maximum (with a generous pour, which we didn't get.) Four shots........ .......four shots for which we got billed a total of $34. Now, I'm no restauranteur, but with *that* kind of profit margin I'm considering it. I understand markup.....but this chaps my ass. $8.50 for a shot of whiskey that goes for $22 per bottle? You're gonna have to give me a reach around for that kind of payday. It's sad, really....a restaurant with zero curb-appeal, terrible parking and a rapidly-expanding negative reputation which, based upon it's genealogy could have been impressive, fails to deliver. I had great hopes for this place, ever since I was intimately involved in the construction of the building. It's disheartening to know that I'll never be back. read more

This was an impulse stop on the suggestion of my husband. He enjoyed it a time before and thought I would too. And I did! The food is good and he was impressed with the facilities too. They have definitely taken measures and are in line with CDC guidelines for distancing and staying safe. I appreciate that! But can we talk about the Thai Shrimp Salad?! It was uh-mazing!! The shrimp was fried and lightly tossed in a sweet/spicy sauce and then placed on top of a lightly dressed salad with exactly enough dressing not to be soggy. I loved the crispy noodles to give it a crunch, the creaminess of the avocado, and the airiness of the cucumbers. I asked for the cashews on the side because I don't like them in my food, but tried them for a couple of bites...not bad. The waitress even came bad to discuss if I had a food allergy with the nuts because the salad dressing had peanut oil. Great attention on her part! Thank you. They also had a great menu of specially crafted house-made libations. I had the Winterita which had agave in it and it was good! I'll have to come back to try the Lemon-Blueberry Bellini which the waitress/bartender recommend ( I went with the Winterita). Anyway, this was a great experience. We'll be back. read more

Libations - Crispy Thai Shrimp Salad - Bars Near Me - Millersville, Maryland

This is the 3rd time I've eaten here. I honestly don't know how they stay in business as it's never busy. Seriously. Ate there last night for a very early dinner. The ravens game had just finished but there was us (4 adults and 1 kid) and another two top in the dining room. That's it. The bar wasn't even half full. And somehow it still took 40 minutes for our dinner to come out. And 3 of those dinners were salads! Our server was very nice but everything was very, very slow. My sister got the jerk chicken salad and it was too spicy to eat. I tried it, and I enjoy spicy foods, and I almost spit it out it was so spicy. My husband, who prefers things hot enough to melt his teeth, even said that while it was on the middle of his spicy scale it was way too hot for normal people. They did take it off the bill but if that's the second time a customer has said it's too spicy, I hope the chef takes that into consideration. Also, no manager ever came by to check on us. My husband likes the beer selection but I hope I don't have to go back any time soon. read more

We have been to Libations many many times. So many favorite dishes including all the tacos, the Pot Roast Sandwich, and the Chicken Quesadilla! We have never been disappointed no matter what we order. Staff is please and service is always good. Love Libations! read more
