A solid but not overly spectacular addition to the Severna Park - Millersville dining scene. Not that there's much competition in the immediate vicinity, although down the road you'll find the crowded field of choices in Crofton. "Crowded" is not a word I'd use to describe Libations, especially for lunch. We've been there thrice now in the early afternoon, and while we're never alone in the place, there's plenty of seating. So what's attractive here? Why four, not three stars? First, they have an excellent beer selection, with plenty of changing taps and a good bottle selection. Second, the food is good. Not five-star good, but good. We've tried everything from the salads to the sandwiches to the burgers to shrimp to the fish and chips. It's all been good. But there's nothing I'd put as a stand-out, go-to item. Third, it's easy in, easy out. The kitchen has been quick and the servers good. Oh yes - they have a nice patio area, which is unfortunately overlooking a busy road. There appears to be quite a dinner / night scene here from what the sign outside says, but we've never been here -- so I can't comment. read more

This was my second visit here. Both times were outstanding! Service was impeccable, we were greeted immediately and given waters without asking. Everyone on the staff is extremely friendly and always making sure you are well tended too. They have a nice beer list and a variety of great food. I would say more like 3.5. And review is for breakfast I've been 2x now. Sunday morning seems to be not as busy as I thought it would be. Both visits my party of 4 was sat upon entering at around 11 am. We were greeted promptly and nicely. We were shown to the dining area and on a nice days they offer outside seating. There is also a bar area with high top tables. The most recent visit our table ordered: Me - French toast with a side of bacon Mom- Build your omelet and cup of cream of crab Dad - Chicken and waffle Kid- Pancakes My French toast was just what I expected, light & fluffy with a tad but of crisp on the outside. My bacon was cooked on the "softer" side. You know not over crunchy. My mom said her omelet was great and the cream of crab soup was good. She said the soup had lots of fresh herbs which gave it a different taste but still good, she finished it. She also ordered a side of potato cakes. It's about 5-6 small potato cakes. They were well seasoned Dad cleaned his plate, he says everything was great but what made the dish was the sausage gravy The kiddo said " to be honest the pancakes could use some work" she finished her meal. But I think her issue was their pancakes are on the thinner side of the pancake spectrum. I also like that they give you a large syrup pitcher to share. Place is right up the street and went a couple times before I moved. First time going was with another person and so we sat in the dining room and ate. It was the first weekend it was open and the service showed. Waited a while for food asked if we wanted bread and it never came. When the food finally came I ordered the Po' Boy and it was enough to feed a small bird. Two dinky bite sized halves of a ciabatta bread. Good sandwich just wish they could have served it on a big boy plate especially when I paid the 12 or 14 dollars for it. First experience feel was this place is stingy and overpriced with inexperienced waitstaff. If your gonna charge classy prices then hire some people who know what their doing. The wait staff looks like a bunch of high schoolers who just got their first job. Didnt look like their was any restaurant manager or anyone controlling the floor. They were all walking around clueless. Last couple times I went by myself and just sat at the bar. They have actual really good beer on tap about the only kind I drink anymore so sick of the new trendy wannabe half assed brews out there. But be ready to break out the wallet cause at 6 something a beer your bill adds up quick. Oh and there seems to be too many bartenders. Theres like 5 on a bar that could easily be managed by 1 on a easy night or 2 on a weekend. They come like every 5 minutes asking the infamous "Are you ok?" Ambience is okay., food was not too bad., however I think price is little high for being just local place. I paid., close to 100 bucks with tips two dinner and beer samples. I enjoy this place. The selection for their drinks is great and their food was better than I anticipated. The service can be lacking sometimes, but we've had one waiter that is always great! The food can come out slow and limited selection on the food. Either way, I enjoy coming for a weeknight or weekend dinner with my family. My husband and I go to Libations a couple times a month for dinner. We have never been disappointed! Great food, great service and inviting atmosphere. We were there this evening and they were incredibly busy with 2 large parties. Instead of waiting for a table we sat at a high top at the bar. Our waitress (Lynn) quickly came over and got our drink order. We ended up ordering a couple appetizers. There was an incident that we observed that was rather disheartening, but at the same time we came away even more impressed with the staff. The couple next to us, who evidently had come in right before us were disgruntled that their food had not arrived yet. With 2 large parties seated it is understandable that the kitchen was behind. On 2 different occasions our server told them the kitchen was behind and their food would be out as soon as possible. They ended up asking for the manager. The manager, Amy came out and was nice as can be, very understanding and accommodating to them. She kept a smile on her face even when the male condescendingly told her "you guys can really do better..." Amy promised to get their meals out as soon as possible. She came out not 3 minutes later with their meals and the male of the party waived her away, saying they didn't want the food anymore. Amy promptly took the food back and let them know the food would be taken off the bill as well as part of their for drink order. She remained professional and respectful as they berated her and told her how they thought she should have been running the restaurant and threatened to ruin the restaurant on social media. When the bartender brought the bill out they brow-beat her until she comp'd more alcohol off the bill; they were lobbying hard for their entire check to be comp'd. From what the couple was listing off it quite a few drinks that they had while at Libations. In between this, they called our server over to the table and made her admit that she was wrong and that she had not kept them informed about the delay in food. I know the old saying "the customer is always right"...in this case that was not true. I personally heard her tell them twice about the wait. These folks were simply being rude and decided to take it out on the restaurant staff. I was incredibly impressed by the poise and class that the staff showed in this situation. They remained polite and professional during the entire situation. The bartender was with them for a good 5-10 minutes trying to placate them (remember...busy Saturday night). Most people know on a Saturday night restaurants tend to be busy...that should not be a shock...if you want fast-food then to go McDonald's down the road... Our food tonight was totally on-point. We had the buffalo chicken quesadilla which was an awesome combination of chicken, buffalo sauce and cheese in a quesadilla; the crabby-tots (best of both worlds...crab dip and tater-tots!) And the New Orleans andoiulle, shrimp and grits (wonderful mixture of flavors and textures!). We finished it all off with one of my new favorite desserts. Imagine a sugar-cookie made into a dessert cup, filled with cheese cake and topped with fresh berries and whipped cream. OMG it was good! During the winter months they had a cookies and cream Smith Island Cake that was phenomenal. If you are looking for an entree, the lump crab Mac and cheese is phenomenal; literally huge lumps of crab throughout the entree. It is easily 2 meals in one! If you are looking for a great neighborhood restaurant to either sit in the dining room or at the bar, and unwind with a great meal then Libations is the place! read more

I made the mistake of ordering a salad to go, and having someone pick it up for me. I ordered the chop chop salad for $9 and I got about 2 cups lettuce a couple cucumber and tomato slices and a few bacon bits. No egg what so ever. When she got back I thought she had brought me a side salad. That was the size of it. But no this was their $9 chop chop salad. Won't make that mistake again. Sat at the bar and the inside ambiance is lovely and service was excellent. The menu really needs some direction to define the company brand. Who do you guys want to be? Too many cultural choices in 1 place make this confusing and overwhelming and no restaurant can do all of it great which means it will be average. And for the prices they are charging for average sandwiches and tacos with a few fries is a little ridiculous. Our bill for 2 sandwhiches, 2 beers, and wings was $84. We were hungry when we left. Ordering dinner would be over $100. Some of the choices are unique and their steak sandwich and friend green tomato panini were really tasty (skip the wings, not good), but these are Annapolis and DC prices and there is no outside view. Maybe toning down the menu to what you are true specialists at with a cohesive theme and lower your prices just a little will help. Maybe. read more

been here twice, and I'm torn how to review so it will be middle of the road star wise until I've had a third visit as a tie break. First time wife and I went we got the potato chip nachos, a little on the salty side, but good. For dinner we both got the italian grilled cheese and it was awesome. Second visit we got the fried pickles and they were flavorless, the batter was good, but that was about it. Bartender didn't even give us plates until we were half done with them. I ordered the cheese steak and it was meh. Really just your standard cheese steak with a bit of spice. My wife got the Fish and chips. They were ok, batter was good like the pickles, but ultimately a completely forgettable meal. I've been here twice; once on their opening night, and this past Monday (2/16/15). The first visit was mediocre and understandably off kilter. This past time, our service was terrific. My salad, the seared ahi tuna salad, was very tasty, however, overpriced ($18 for Millersville?? Really??). My hubby's buffalo chicken salad looked and tasted very processed (Tyson does frozen chicken better). We splurged and ordered dessert; brownie sundae. Brownie was room temp, and not worth the caloric overload. We'd love to love this place, with it being so close to home. Visited Libations for the first time last night. The wife and I had a good time. This place caterers to a 'higher class' and offers beers you've never heard of. I'm a simple Miller Lite guy and they do stash a few of them somewhere but sitting down at the bar the pressure is definitely on to fit in and order one of the drafts. (I was really surprised though when my wife and I could only recognize three of the fifty or so bottles of liquor on display.) Fortunately to their credit the staff is well educated on the beverages offered. The crab dip was good coming with a large pretzel and chips. My burger and her taco were ok but neither came from the kitchen correctly. Atmosphere was good. Staff was friendly. Bathrooms clean (and not-for-nothing struck me as being huge for the size of the building.) Libations is not for me but it is a good place that I think will do well. read more

What a nice atmosphere at this place! We had an early dinner. The beer list was great! I enjoyed a Baltimore brown ale, while my husband tackled the stout. We ordered crab balls for an appetizer. While good, they are not the best I've had, and certainly not worth the price tag. I would pass on them again. My husband had the pierogis and kielbasa with Brussels sprouts as said it was very good. I ordered off the special menu and had the pulled pork poutine. This was an American twist on the dish. It was good, but not great. I wouldn't order again. Had the cheesecake for dessert and it was good. I'm giving a 3.5 stars, but that isn't a choice so I rounded to 4. I'd go back for the beer and another try and dinner. read more

We love expensive craft beer. We love seasonal, artistic comfort food. Libations provided us with both of those things and then some. It was almost impossible to decide which beer and entree to get so we will be back soon enough. The bar was crowded as you'd expect. The dining room to the right as you walk in needs some improvement. I suggest requesting a table in the main dining room which is much more open and inviting. The waitresses and waiters are young, barely old enough to drink I suspect, but are attentive and friendly nonetheless. A bit too expensive for the neighborhood but a welcome addition in a sea of chain restaurants. I would recommend Libations. read more

The food was delicious. I had shrimp and grits with andouli sausage and a couple of crispy crunchy fried green tomato medallions. My server, Sam was quick and responsive. There were many seating options with a relaxed atmosphere. Overall, pretty darn good. I will be back to explore the menu. read more

Great place! Stopped in for drinks and apps with my boyfriend and a friend. They have a great selection of craft beer and it was a special promotional night so they also handed out free pint glasses, score! We started out with a cheese and meat place. We asked our waitress to pick her top 6 selections, 3 cheeses & 3 meats. Everything was excellent! The slabs they bring out are great because they have the names of each item written next to them. We also ordered the Old Bay Tater Tots with Crab Dip, Ahi Tuna Ceviche, and the Crispy Calamari. Everything we had was delicious! The tater tots were a bit salty but the crab dip was amazing. My favorite was the ceviche - it came with squared hunks of tuna, along with guacamole and red onions! I could have eaten 2 or 3 bowls of that stuff! The calamari was a recommendation from our waitress and it did not disappoint! The batter and sauce were both excellent. The entire restaurant is very open and inviting. For a Tuesday night, the place was semi-full when we got there around 6:45pm and we left around 11pm and most people had also gone home. The bar is great because it's roomy and there are lots of chairs. We heard the owner likes to have new beer on tap all the time so the selection changes almost monthly. My bf and I love craft beer so we will definitely be going back in the near future. read more

Not very impressed with the food. I pass through this area all the time for work and always wanted to stop in here. Had an excuse to do so as my father in law was waiting for his truck to have have a remote start put in right up the street so we went for lunch (it was also recommended by the gentlemen at the shop). I got cream of crab soup, that was bland and every bite I took with crab meat had shells. I also got a side Caesar salad, which was okay but just slightly under dressed. I'm sure I could have asked for more but no big deal really. My father in law got the shrimp salad sandwich, which he felt was also bland. It wasn't a terrible experience, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here again. Interior is nice, modern and casual. The waitress we had was also pleasant. read more

We both had items off the "brunch specials" menu, breakfast burrito and breakfast pizza and a cup of maryland crab soup for appetizer (I posted pics). The food had a ton of flavor and seasoning and Brian, our friendly and attentive waiter, allowed me to sub in their sweet potatoes fries as my side. Best fries ever. Dog friendly! I love that we can bring our four legged furbaby with us to the patio! The red sangria was scrumptious, not too tart, not too sweet, with a variety of fruit in it. That turned out to be desert! We had the crab soups for an appetizer, they were both wonderful. Mine had a tomato base with tons of vegetables and lots of crabmeat.
