Henry's talent, skills and ability literally rivals my longtime go-to nail lady in Beverly Hills who's been doing nails for 20+ years!! Henry is a literal rockstar at what he does!! This nail shop is honest, very fairly priced especially for the caliber of services they extend, clean and sanitary and well stocked with a myriad of polish colours, brands and options. Kyle and Nene are kind and passionate business owners that treat their clients and staff with kindness, respect and professionalism. I have been searching high and low for a decent and reliable nail salon after moving back home. I feel badly for leaving a negative review, but want to provide my experience in the hope that both customer service and quality improve. I have been to Lia Nails twice and have had issues both times. During my first visit, I got both a pedicure and a dip manicure. My manicure technician finished the service when I noticed there was a small piece of black debris in the nail. I showed it to him and he said that nothing could be done. However, after speaking to the receptionist, a second technician was able to fix the imperfection with no issues. I appreciated that they rectified the situation. This second time though has been the most frustrating. I received a dip manicure, and about a week and a half later, the dip had small cracks throughout. Additionally, 8 of the 10 nails also had peeled so that spots on the shiny topcoat looked matte. One nail also just completely fell off. I called today to see if they would do anything to rectify the situation to fix the service, and was told that it wasn't within the 10-day guarantee. I asked to speak to the owner who said that either my nails weren't right for dip or that there was an malfunction in the products purchased, or I was hard on the manicure (slightly laughable given that I am very pregnant and my most accomplished activity each day is taking the dog for a walk around the block). She also clearly didn't have the time or professionalism to listen to my issue. I completely understand that issues happen, but I would have thought there would have been some effort or responsibility taken, or a promise to make it better or work with me. I've had a standing appointment with them for YEARS and they called me 2 days before my appointment to tell me the owner, Kyle, couldn't do my nails and no one at his business would be able to either. I'm a consistent (every 2 weeks, like clock work) paying customer who typically sits and chit chats! Is business that booming?!? Is me paying you through Zelle (per your request) so you can skip credit card fees and giving you a 25% tip not enough? Yes I like my nails to look a certain way, but they've been doing them for years. So we've got a routine down. And who has their receptions make the call? Pick up the phone and have a conversation with your customer, don't chicken out and pass the buck. How spineless. Here is some back story, so you know I'm not just an irrational one time customer... I've been going to See Kyle, the owner, and his staff pretty much since they opened. I always did a short no chip manicure and recently switched to a longer dip, per his strong suggestion. I'm an artist at heart and typically know what I want. Whether it is a certain shape or color. Kyle always said if I can show him a photo he can duplicate it. THAT is NOT the case! He will try and talk you out of your request. Constantly giving you an excuse for why he can't or wouldn't do as you asked. Telling you if he had a different tool he could accomplish it and that on your next appointment he would have what he needed, but he never would. If you're ok with someone else dictating the shape, length and style, you'll Love him! I would also bring along my mother and daughter as well on occasion. My mother refused to keep going with me about 6-8 months ago. Saying Nini, the owners wife, made it to awkward with her sullen attitude. She said this took all of the fun out of it. That she felt like she was bothering Nini just by sitting there. I tried to be understanding, by saying maybe Nini isn't a very happy/smily person. But I understood my mother, you never got a feeling of Welcoming when you walked in. A few, very few, happy looking employees couldn't make the shop "feel" welcoming no matter how hard they tried. Maybe if the owners put in some effort it might help. I haven't been happy with the attitude and feel of the environment, so this for the best. Nini fixed my nails and I love how they look! Kyle reached out to me after he saw my review and asked I'm if I'd like to come back to get them fixed. She explained to me that my real nails are pretty thick to begin with so depending on the technician, they could look very thick after dip. She also told me that each technician has a preference to how thick they do dip nails for clients and if the clients don't say anything, they could make them thicker than what the client prefers. Even though she was busy, she examined my nails carefully, while working quickly and efficiently. My nails look so much longer and less fanned out because she took the sides in. I came to Lia's on June 29 of this year and I absolutely loved my experience. Life got busy and I forgot to review this place. I came in with a stock image that I got from Google and I asked the ladies there that I wanted a no chip gel manicure and she was able to replicate it 100% accurately. I also have sensitive cuticles so I mentioned that to the lady doing my nails and she was extra careful when managing them. I also sliced under my nail that same morning from opening a colored contacts container so she was extra careful around that area too (I didn't feel any pain during my experience). OVERALL they are all lovely and easy to communicate with to make sure you are 100% satisfied with your service and end product of your nails. The service was great, but the product and outcome was horrible. I've been here three times for no chip manicures. Steve did a beautiful job on my fingers and toes. I hate it when the manicurist fixes my cuticles and makes my nails look so pretty, but then the color is messy. Well, Steve did the color neatly. I am very pleased. Manicure-Pedicure costs $40 plus tip. But that includes a salt scrub, warm lotion, and hot towels. The whole process is very relaxing. I asked for an ombre pink and white full set and I wanted them to be coffin style and on the shorter side. I paid $55 for it and I also just wanted the $12 basic toenail polish done. Misty did my nails and she was super sweet and would go back to fix something before I even got the chance to say anything. She really cared about making the nails look nice. She kept making the powder too thick on my nails but she went back and filed them down and had to file one of them down quite a bit. The toenail polish was done super quick but I'm very happy with the outcome (they were cut and filed) she still make sure she was doing a good job! Come: some of my nail edges look a little crusty and she fixed a few when I told her but I just noticed the others were still bad when I got home. It was hard to get a picture to show this but one of my nails is kind of lumpy even after she went back to fix it a few times. Although Kyle knows exactly how I like my nails done, he always takes the time to ask if the length is ok or if I want to change the shape, etc. My gel nails last super long and I get tons of compliments on my nails even right before I go in to have them redone. My 17 year old daughter loves it also and brings all her friends. Super clean salon and Kyle is so knowledgeable about the health of your nails not just how to make them look good. I have never experienced such excellent customer service. From being transparent about pricing throughout the visit as well as exceeding my expectations for what I was looking for. Unknowingly one of the nail drying lights had malfunctioned during my visit but they called me after I had left to let me know and check in on me. The next day my nails had some minor bubbles so they got me in right away and fixed everything. They insisted it was their mistake and wouldn't charge me I tried to tip them and they said it wasn't right. I can't explain how grateful I am and how highly I think of them to recognize a mistake ( that wasn't even their fault) and immediately fix it. I'll start off with something nice because my experience wasn't a complete bust. I came in to get a pedicure and no chip manicure on Tuesday (last week) before going to my best friends bachelorette party out of state. My pedicure was awesome and I can't complain about it. My manicure was hands down the worst I've ever gotten. First of all, the woman who did my nails did not say more than one word to me, probably because she was too busy texting. Not even a "how are you?" and I found that very odd and kind of rude. I left feeling uncomfortable but satisfied enough and headed out for my trip. By Thursday morning my thumb was hurting so badly and I could tell something was infected as well as my nails were ALREADY starting to chip. Friday morning my nails looked awful and were starting to get worse (see pictures). Honestly, this manicure was so bad it was embarrassing. I guess you could say they have a 10 day guarantee policy but it was an important event and I was out of state so that does nothing for me. By the time I got home on Sunday my thumb was so infected and the skin had completely peeled off leaving my finger raw and in pain (see pictures). Again, I guess I could go back and take advantage of the 10 day policy but why would I want to? Save yourself the money and embarrassment and go somewhere else for your manicure - especially if you have an important event coming up and don't want to look stupid. read more

Horrible Attitude!!!!! Lia Nails Naperville location (art 59/ N Aurora Rd). Owner Kyle I went in to get my nails soaked off with a fresh new set and I asked Kyle the owner to not cut my nails with the clippers but instead use an acrylic nails to lift and remove. He went flying off the handle and said I am not a nail tech and I didn't have the right to advise him. I have been getting my nails done for over 40yrs and I don't have to know how to apply nails but I do know what works for me. I have had 7 technicians thru out my life and I do believe I have learned a thing or 2 from each of them. Never have I ever had an argument with a service tech over my nails. I was told that they have a horrible attitude and now I can say I have experienced it for myself. I should have listened. I do not recommend based on attitude and I will not spend my money where I am not appreciated. PS. They have cameras. I received attitude. the moment I sat in the chair. Awful "no chip" manicure and pedicure. First of all, front desk teenager seems uninterested with zero charisma to even be at a front desk person. This is my second time coming here spending 75-90 dollars both times plus tip. Technicians tend to rush the service, do not clean all the skin and cuticles all the way, there's no hand massage and my "no chip" started chipping only after 4 days. Came for a nail repair and front desk teenager seemed annoyed , once she got someone to fix my nails, I said thank you and she didn't even reply back, rude! Seems to be more interested in her tik tok on her phone than giving good customer service. She's always on her phone every time I come here. The nail tech, asked which nail needed repair, honestly they all did because I know in just a day or two they will all chip completely.. this guy asked which color? I don't recalll the color number, so I said the same? Then he said "well I don't know which one it is" laughing sarcastically in front of other customers! Which I thought it was unnecessary, if you know customer service you help the guest find the matching color instead and not make them feel embarrassed in front of the whole shop... making me feel like I'm the one who didn't do my job right, guy rushed to fix it ( only one nail) and told me you are good to go, didn't even care the color didn't match my nails.. left and front desk girl didn't seem to care if the problem was solved and/or if I was satisfied this time. I've Experienced Better on the streets of Nepal. A Delayed appointment time, 55 min pedicure with more relaxation coming from the massage chair than the actual experience. $20 MORE FOR NO CHIP!? Who are you!? And an Ungrateful Referral.
