These are the best fitting Levis on me
David D.

For those of you under 40 reading this you are going to get a Levi's history lesson and for those over 40--you may already know this. After the history--I will relate that to my experience in the Outlet Store. Levi's really represents all the problems in the economy today and it's many other companies too--maybe most. Back in the 1970's Levi's grew all their cotton in the USA and ran factories in San Francisco and New York employing 1000's of people sewing denim jeans and Jackets. These were well paid career jobs with insurance and retirement. They were for people that did not want go to college but wanted a good job to support their family. It was a good living. The Levi's CEO increased profits 5% a year and when you did that Wall Street thought you were a hero. 5% was excellent. Fast forward to the 2000's. If a CEO grows their company 5% a year--Wall Street and Shareholders want you out--they yawn at 5%. So what is a CEO to do? The CEO fires all the American workers and finds countries where they operate sweat shops, don't have to provide benefits, employ child labor, work for 1/3 the hourly rate of Americans, grow cotton for less than in America, cancel contract with YKK zippers and use cheaper zippers. Levi's closes the USA and opens up production of Denim Jeans in Vietnam, Bangladesh, Mexico, and interestingly Egypt. They did this so that Shareholders can bank record profits and the CEO instead of earning 10x a factory worker salary like in the 1970's now earns 100X of what a factory worker in the USA would earn if they were still employed and 500X what a foreign factory worker earns annually. This takes me to my visit to the Outlet Store in Camarillo last week. I only came here because someone in my family 2 years ago gave me a gift card and I just wanted to use it already--I almost sold it. I was not happy with Levi's when they pulled out of the USA--there was no reason for it except to put more money in CEO and Shareholders pockets. All the Levi Jeans here are fixed priced at $70 each. They were having a buy one, get one 1/2 off sale any jeans--that's the way they do things in Outlets. So this is most interesting thing: The Jean that fits me the best is always the 514. I go over to the 514 rack and look for my size. There were 3 pairs in my size. I take all three pairs (same exact jean and wash) into the fitting room to examine. First one I put on--the seams are opening up around the fly--threads coming out and the cotton felt like S. Could not wait to get it off. Second one--better made, but still not comfortable--it was just OK--better than the 1st. Third one--Nicely made, super soft and comfortable, threading had a nice vibrant contrast to the blue jean. So now I look inside to see why these same size model jeans feel and look so different: 1st one: Made in Mexico, 2nd one: Made in Bangladesh, 3rd one: Made in Egypt. Of course: The 3rd one was made with Egyptian Cotton--some of the best cotton in the world. I then found something new--A Levi's Chino what fit and felt incredible (Made in Bangladesh). During my visit I asked a clerk on the floor for help and I was less than impressed with his knowledge of the difference between the jeans--he really did not know and he was even picking out the wrong jean model #when I told him specifically what I wanted. Later I heard another clerk taking a woman around and describing the differences in a very impressive/knowledgeable manner. So it depends on who you get there if you need help. Overall the employees I came in contact with were pleasant and tried to be helpful. I wrote to Levi's after about problems with fitting rooms--they all have 1 single little bench to sit on and No Where to put your jeans down--people were just putting them on the dirty floor. They let me use the disability room which has a long bench--otherwise I did not know how to handle this situation except likewise dumping a bunch of jeans on the floor. Does anyone in charge at this store even notice this problem? Anyone care? I don't think anyone cares. You know I gave them 4 stars because I came away with 2 nice pair of pants, but it's really just a 2-3 Star operation. If it was not for the pair made in Egypt--I don't think I would bit that day. The Mexican production was disgraceful. And there were no American made Levi's. And I blame the CEO--and you should too! --they are ones with the money to remedy this and they won't do a thing because they are only earning 78 million a year and how can you survive on that type of income? I feel for them...

Ooohhhh!!!! Scored at this location fantastic sales, great deals, saved a lot. The best things about this location: Selection Customer Service Friendly professional staff Courteous attention The female check out clerk was awesome! This is the best Levi's store ever, and I've been to a few. Management, good job. Your employees are performing above and beyond. Pay them well and take good care of them!

Bought this top! 40% additional off clearance price items.

I absolutely love this store, I try to make a trip to Camarillo once every few months and never leave empty handed. I take advantage of the clearance deals and other sales throughout the store. I have yet to purchase a pair of Levis jeans but absolutely love their backpacks, fanny packs and tops. Only con is staff never seems to be welcoming, almost as though they get more miserable with every customer that walks in throughout the day. Meh, I'll take it if it means getting my deals ! Lol

Looking at lots of jeans

Bottom line up front (BLUF) - probably the cheapest place to get Levi's. $50 vs. $68 MSRP (what I paid at Kohls - since I read other yelp reviews whining about price here) if you buy two, $39 each. Yes, they are expensive, get over it. You want cheap - go to Walmart (Wranglers - good brand -$15ish, but not Levi). I was on a quest for Levi's since that's what the GF ordered. After wasting time at Kohls & Walmart, I gave in and came here. It met my needs. Not the $21 my parents paid in the 70's, but not $68 I paid at Kohl's (who by the way didn't list the price & even at getting half off second pair was $20 more than here). You get the idea.

Fraying at the edge

On April 29 I bought a nice pair of LEVI 505 jeans at the Camarillo Outlet Store. They fit great, and so I took off the big ugly belt high label they put on advertising their name. It's not even a leather Horse label anymore. Just a paper thing littering my belt loops. I wore them and washed them twice - but then noticed the zipper area and the front pockets were beginning to fray. I drove out to the LEVI Outlet Store where I bought them, showed staffers there, and they immediately recognized this was a defect. I wanted an exchange but they refused because I didn't save my receipt & I had taken off that big ugly tag. One snotty little fellow tried to imply that I might be trying to defraud them into giving me a new pair, but they all decided they couldn't stand by their merchandise without its outer tag (lots of tags inside still), and sent me away an unhappy uncustomer. Won't be giving LEVI my business again unless they are the only blue jeans left on earth . Oh wait, they're not.

Denied a return on this because this receipt did not have a transaction number on it. NOTE It says instore returns are allowed.

Somehow, I ended up with my wallet, so what better time to shop? Fashion Gal has a lot of trendy clothes, and I've been wanting to update some pieces in my wardrobe, so I took a lap around. Unfortunately, a lot of the clothing had cheap/thin material and high prices. However, directly to the left of the store - upon entering - was a clearance section. The items ranged from about $3 to $20 in the clearance section plus there was an additional discount on some of the items. I looked at a cute blue dress that I wasn't sure I wanted, wandered away, found out they have dressing rooms, and went back to try on the dress, where I found a cuter, fitter, smaller lady eyeing it. I watched, eagle eyed, as she lifted it up from the rack to check it out and eventually put it back. I bolted over and grabbed it, trying it on in the dressing room. It fit and looked really nice! Score! It cost $5! I've wandered in here a few times after shopping at Wal-Mart to look in the clearance racks for more nice, discounted clothes. I found a pretty dress (but had cheap material) for $3, a cute skirt skirt for $3, and romper for $3. Everything was also discounted for another 20%, so I walked away with three cute items of clothing for less than 10 bucks! Usually I now only look in the clearance section, then I'm out when I find nothing I like. Everything else in the store is a little overpriced for my tastes, but I definitely was excited to find some cute pieces. And it's a good way to hype up yourself up for going into the busy Wal-Mart shopping center to do some essential shopping when you know needless and fun shopping at Fashion Gal is next!

At Brentwood, Brian and Romero have been incredibly helpful, thoughtful, and honest in guiding fit and selections. They actually listen, which makes all the difference--especially when you're trying to get something as specific as the right pant fit. And more recently, Nancy at the Camarillo outlet went out of her way to help coordinate sizing, share photos, and make the process easy and seamless. That level of care--especially across locations--is rare. What stands out most is the consistency: no pressure, no upselling--just smart, attentive service and a genuine desire to help you find what actually works. It makes shopping feel easy! They rock!

We were there few weeks ago checking out a leather jacket, since it was our second store we started…read moreshopping at, we decided to come back later for a jacket I really liked. I asked the girl nicely that I really like the jacket but would like to look around and come back for it. She looked at me head to toes and said: "I can only hold it for 20 mins" in a really condescending tone. The first store we went was theory men store right next door and my husband a sweater held for later. When I asked what the final price would be; she was very unwilling to pull her calculator out and said it's not refundable because it's final sale again in a condescending tone! I say okay I will think about it, she said have a good day and took the jacket out of my hands in a rudely manner!! I don't wanna be racist or anything, but if the manager reads this she is Asian young lady and have her hair dyed Ashy grey/ blonde. It kind of put us in a bad mood after we left the store and didn't even wanna come back the second time. But deep down, I feel sad for her life!
