So much stuff in the shelves and floor you can hardly walk around but it makes it a fun visit just going down each aisle. Someone working will find you and ask what you're looking for because chances are you won't find it in your own. Prices are a little more than big box store but it's a chance to support local small business owners. This place is amazing. I've had weird hardware problems a handful of times. They've shown me what to get and then just fixed them for me while in the store. I had a shower chair leg with the threads messed up so the foot wouldn't attach with existing bolt. One staff took it in the back and fixed it. Didn't charge me a thing. I decided to get a pro to replace my toilet after falling on it and breaking the bottom flange and the wax ring was leaking, so I figured I'd call Levahn bros, good as any, since I'm "disabled" now and too hard too to walk now, I didn't want to carry out or carry in a new toilet Dave came out and switched them out, after he left and I looked at the floor and "poop and dirt" was around the bowl flange I lifted the top up and the water was right at the top of the fill tube I called and got the owner "Andy Levahn" and told him I thought Dave should have "cleaned the floor" where the toilet sits Andy said its "not our job" to clean the floor I said, I beg to differ, is it my job to clean the floor, he didn't know he said, he didn't know which way to turn the "adjuster" either c/w or c/cw on the float assembly, he said I could look in the tank, and could find out, I said why don't you look in the tank and tell me, he begrudging did It but he didn't want to I also asked about the "silver" looking tank bolts thinking they might be "mild steel" that rusts, then you get "rust stains" in the bowl in 3 years, and rust forms on the "flapper" and starts leaking he said they are "yellow brass" I said "no" they are not yellow brass he said he needed to go to the back and look in a "new box" to see, he confirmed yes their "silver" but because they are stainless steel he had to look for a magnet and confirmed non magnetic stainless steel For being a plumbing store owner you don't seem to "know very much" he started "whining" and ready to hang up on me so I apologized Then he said you sure ask a-lot of "fucking questions" I couldn't believe my ears and told him so go and "swear" all you want, it doesn't affect me, he started "laughing" asking a "few basic questions" is a-lot for Andy the owner of a Hardware Hank and Levahn Bros plumbing WOW!!!! Huge props to Levahn Brothers for being kind, courteous, and helpful with their over the phone suggestions to help me fix my own plumbing problem myself. We had an er situation where my son's bathtub faucet wasn't turning off unless I shut down the main valve. This store provides the best service, and is my go to spot for any kind of hardware needs. Whether you need a box of nails, an obscure plumbing part, or custom cut glass, they're always a help. It is a true asset to the community! Last weekend my snowblower quit working--just refused to start. I called around and discovered Levahn has an arrangement with an independent mechanic who does small engine repair. I brought in the machine, paid a simple $20 deposit, and was told to expect to have it back in about a week. Less than 24 hours after drop off, I received a call that my snowblower was back and running. With a new carburetor, spark plug, oil change and advice on fuel usage, it is running like new again. I had a small leak coming out of the valve to turn my outdoor water off/on on May 1, 2020. I saw that Levahn Brothers had good reviews so I gave them a call. After explaining the situation, they told me to try tightening a hex nut on the neck of the valve and that would often fix the problem. They were right, it did. They basically walked me through fixing a problem myself for no charge during a slow time with the COVID pandemic. I will definitely call then next time I have a plumbing problem. read more

I was very disappointed with this company. I do not like to write negative reviews, yet I want to make a few comments that I think do not go without saying. The work charged for removing two toilets, two vanities and installing two toilets and two vanities amounted to almost $1,800. I was not there from start to finish so I could not track the number of hours. Even if it had taken 7 hours (which I believe is inflated) that is a rate of almost $300/hr. Loch Ness Plumbing is far more reasonable. In addition, I was charged for 1/2 of the job that quoted it as needed two people. The second person showed up to help remove toilet and vanity from property. I also was not impressed by the personal grooming of the primary plumber who ought to have-- to say this as delicately as I can--worn suspenders. I didn't appreciate his lack of self-awareness(or perhaps indifference not only toward his own self-respect but respect for the company he represents. I would recommend individuals take their time and do comparison shopping and make sure to be present throughout the who project to insure hours are not being padded. read more

These people are the real deal. I've been going here for years (on the advice of my parents). They will take the time to do the extra steps - which makes all the difference. Yesterday I came in with a weedwhacker manual book - I had to get the oil to mix in the gas and a spool of line for it. A kind worker there looked at the manual and told me exactly what to get (ended up being less than $10). She also told me that I should get non oxygenated gas (and why) and where to go to get it (a station 5 minutes away). I have received excellent service there so many times that I finally had to sit down and write a review. This is truly a first-rate, hands-on place in a way that is fast disappearing with the big-box crappy stores. Please never leave. read more

I had a pipe with a pin hole leak that I noticed on fishing opener weekend. Of course my husband was away fishing (isn't that the way it always happens). I called to see if they were able to come and fix my pipe. Unfortunately they were booked until the next week. The kind person I talked with(Andy?) told me they had a product in their store called JB Water Weld, a putty like substance that could patch my pipe until my husband got home to fix it. It was only around $8 and it worked fantastic and did the job. I was able to patch my pipe and in about 2-3 hours was able to turn the water back on and no leaks! Hurray! First let me say that I have no problem paying a touch more to support the local hardware stores. I brought my lawn mower in for a basic spring tune-up (sharpen blade, replace filter, etc) and I also needed to replace a broken $10 part. When I picked my mower up the bill of $125 seemed very high. Shame on me maybe for not asking about the cost in advance! However, my mower is on it's last leg and worth maybe $50-75. To top it off, they put the wrong sized part in and I had to bring it back - which is not a big deal. But then they wanted to charge me the extra $8 for the difference in the part cost....seriously?!?! read more

I have a total love hate relationship with my snow blower. After this winter, I hate it but can't live without it. After the last storm, it decided not to start and have a flat tire. I wanted to scream! A friend told us that LeVahn does small engine repair. Since there isn't a new snowblower to be had in this town, it was time to fix it. I was told it would be about 2 weeks which made me want to cry because if it snowed I'd be hurting. What was I supposed to do- it didn't work! A week later I got a call to say it was fixed. I was so happy! The tire was easy as it was that rimless kind and just needed to be realigned, sealed and blown up. I've tried to do this before, and it is not fun. They have the set up to do it where I don't. The engine needed a little cleaning and a new spark plug. I thought I needed an entire new engine (at least that's what it seemed like when I tried to run the thing). The cost was really reasonable too. Ok, as much as I really don't want to have to use my snowblower again this year, I am so glad there is a little place than can fix it. They were easy to deal with, friendly and know engines. They explained how it was really a simple problem and definitely not worth getting rid of the snowblower for. So, whether I am ready or not for the snow to come (they are predicting Monday yuck!), my snowblower is. Yeah!! read more
