I have a 9' foot high fountain in my backyard...so big you can see it from space. Beautiful and majestic when it's running, but really hard to keep the water clean. If it was a pool, I could get easy, fast advice at Leslie's. Spoke with Charlie Schrobilgen, the general manager, about a filter pump to somehow rig up for the fountain. His advice was priceless. He spent some time on the computer to find the right machine, which was at the right price, and off I went. This Leslie's pool supply deserves no stars. My family made a significant purchase from the store, and after only five months we realized how horrible their customer service is. From the store manager all the way down the line to the warranty company did absolutely nothing to help us. After three and a half weeks and multiple calls and complaints to Leslie's corporate office, our pool is now green with no help in sight. True, you can buy your chlorine and shock online, but how will you test your water? I appreciate that Lesslie's always tests my water I'm giving it four stars instead of five because I have never seen a scenario where I get 100% on my water test. it seems that no matter what instructions I follow there always something wrong with my water That said, I don't think it's their fault when my water needs more alkalinity or calcium. This store doesn't appear to know how to test and correct water problems with spas. We have gone there a number of time and after following their direction we have had to go back time after time and the problems kept getting worse. We finally gave up on them and drained the spa. We never had any problems when we went to the store on Central Avenue in Riverside, so we will have to go there from now on. All I can say is avoid the store on Magnolia. We come here to get our pool water tested. This is the only place in the area that does pool water testing. They tell us what our pool needs to maintain a properly running pool. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because sometimes you can find the chemicals cheaper online or at lowes. read more

I went in there to purchase chlorine and shock packets for my pool. "Darren" specifically told me that I did not need chlorine, all I needed was the shock packets he was recommending. He claimed the shock was stronger than chlorine and that was all I would need. I purchased a box of 12 packets for 73.00$. The shock I purchased did not work the way "Darren" claimed it would, when I tried to return it later the same day, with a sample of my pool water, "Darren" blamed me for not specifically explaining what I needed the shock for?? He was unable to refund my money, or at least exchange the product for what my pool needed. Isn't he the expert?? I took his recommendation?? Then he blamed me for it?? I felt it was very bad customer service, will NEVER go back there again!! read more

Purchased some equipment on April 20th for over $800.00. Transaction went smooth on my special order (Still awaiting shipment) Much to my surprise on April 27th my credit card was charged again for the same product. When I contacted the store manager (Little of no help) I was instructed to contact their corporate headquarters 1-800 Leslies I did call the number and after annoying voice processing system I was finally able to talk to a representative. Of course the person answering my call had a difficult time understanding and communicating in English. After over 5 minutes I was finally able to get her to understand I was billed twice for the same purchase. Her solution was to contact the store where I purchased the product. After another 5 minutes of explaining that I was instructed to call 1800Leslies she was still not capable of understanding or offer any assistance. Well I decided the quickest way to solve this problem was to contact my credit card company (Citibank/Costco) card and within a few minutes the transaction was disputed, and will be removed. My next plan of action is going back to Leslies and cancel the complete order, and purchase from Amazon (Which was less money) NOTE: I try to support local businesses, but when they attempt to rip you off I have no other choice but to find alternative sources. DO NOT BUY YOUR POOL EQUIPMENT HERE, FIND A POOL COMPANY NOT A CHAIN SUPPLIER!!!!! So we purchased a new pump, pool heather and salt water system (over $6000) along with the installation. We asked if it would be compatible with our current control panel, we were told it was. So the tech came out and installed everything and not till AFTER everything was installed was I told that the control was not compatible with the equipment and that a tech from Pentair would need to come out and reprogram the board (whatever that means). So we waited a week, no one called us so I called the store directly and was told that I needed to call customer service, which i did. Low and behold, i was placed on hold for a long time only to be told by some girl and told that either they or Pentair would be calling us to schedule an apt for them to come out but she didnt know why it was taking so long or what the issue was. I waited another week, called again, another girl answers, places me on hold forever and then hangs up on me, when I called back and told her that i was hung up on, she says "oh yeah, that was me" No apology, nothing. She places me on hold yet again, then comes back and says that the manager doesn't know why its taking so long and they would call me back. I insisted on talking to the manager so she transfers me to his voicemail. Still have no answer nor able to control my pool from inside. Also you would think that after spending so much money at Leslie's that they would go over how to use the equipment with great depth and since we switched to a salt water system from chlorine you would think they would tell you how much salt you would need and maybe even give you salt for your new system. I was simply told its installed, we programmed it to run on service mode since your control panel is not compatible from inside, until Pentair comes out and reprograms everything..... that was it. Oh and they took our old pump which still worked and never even asked if we wanted to keep it! I'm like come on, when we had our pool installed 10 yrs ago, the guys that installed the equipment where very thorough with instruction and even gave us all the supplies needed to get us through for the first month..... I should of known better and just called a real pool company. this is the worst customer service EVER! read more

Visited the Magnolia store today and Darren assisted me with a water sample. When I arrived, there were 3 customers and he seemed to be the only employee there. He was extremely busy yet had a smile on his face and assured the rest in line he would be right with us. It was very refreshing to witness a friendly employee with such knowledge and professionalism. They are well stocked and have a helpful courteous staff. Leslie's Pool Supply is close to the house but I do drive by a Lowes on the way there because Lowes generally doesn't have everything I need. If you don't want to check your chemicals they will do the check for you once a month if you bring them a sample. read more

I had a serious problem with my Polaris robotics pool cleaner with a series of error codes. When I started the service for repair my equipment was under warranty however during the repair process the warranty expired. Well Leslie pools and specifically Charles worked very hard to solve my problem. I ended up having to go back 3 times but each time Charles handled it like a pro and made sure I was satisfied. Also want to recognize Polaris for standing by their products. Would give them 5 stars as well read more

My pool vac stopped working. It's over 10 yrs old. I went in ready to buy a new one. Darren talked to me. He told me to bring in my broken vac so he could look at it. The next day I brought it in. He took it apart, found the problem & replaced the part within 15 min with a big smile too! I love coming to this store because of Darren. He always took care of me with all my problems. I have a pool that continues to be green but it's not the fault of the staff, I just have a tree that is the cause. Anyways, the staff is very informative, helps until the problem is fixed, courteous, and makes my waiting time enjoyable. There is only one problem and to no fault of the staff, now that it is summer they should have the place cool for the customers and them. This week has been real hot and I went to the store thinking that I could at least be cool inside while I wait for my water to be tested (I was in line), I was sweating more inside than outside. I was informed that the temperature for the air conditioner has to be set at 78 degrees. Come on Leslie headquarters, make it comfortable for all of us. The staff is continuously moving and do get warm, plus having more people in a small area does make it warmer. 78 degrees is ridiculous, when it is 90 degrees outside. read more
