Even when things haven't gone perfectly in the past, my nails still turned out great about 90% of the time. So I was genuinely taken aback by today's experience or at least part of it. First, let me give credit where it's due: Louis, you killed it as always. Your dedication, your artistry, and your commitment to giving the best possible service never go unnoticed. Even though the cat-eye design wasn't possible this time, my nails still look amazing because of your skill and professionalism. Thank you for consistently showing pride in your work. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about my pedicure experience. I came in with a clear vision and even showed the design the same one Louis understood immediately but the nail tech doing my pedicure could not execute it. After five attempts, I was almost sent out the door with something that looked like a tic‑tac‑toe board. At that point, I had to advocate for myself and say, "No, this is not what I asked for," and request that it be removed and replaced with a simple cat-eye. What made it worse was the lack of basic care. He didn't even clean around the toes properly you can still see black and dark blue around the nail beds. That alone shows a lack of attention and professionalism. What frustrated me most wasn't just the inability to do the design it was the lack of honesty. Instead of admitting he didn't know how to do it, he was willing to let me leave with a kindergarten-level design and still pay full price for a service that wasn't delivered. Even after the correction, I left very dissatisfied and disappointed with the pedicure overall. And yes, like I always do, I still paid and tipped generously. But I will not be returning. I'm nobody's fool, and I refuse to be taken advantage of. To Louis, thank you for your outstanding work, your consistency, and your genuine customer care. You are the reason I stayed as long as I did.

The man who did my pedicure seemed like he didn't know what he was doing at all. He nipped two of my toes while cutting my cuticles, and one of them is now in significant pain because of how badly he cut me. When I asked him to scrape a callus on my right foot, he laughed, clearly not understanding me. I tried to explain again without even pointing, and he said "okay." He came back and use the scraper to scrub the bottom of my feet, and I kept telling him no the top of my foot, but then also scrubbed the top of my right foot, which I did NOT ask for and did not want. The whole experience made me uncomfortable and frustrated. I will say the manicure and facial were fine--I purchased a package that included a mani, pedi, and facial--but that does not make up for the pain and poor treatment during the pedicure. After everything, I spoke to who I believe was the manager. He was apologetic and said he would take $25 off my total. However, the pricing made no sense at all. The package was listed as $130, plus a $20 gel add-on, which should have totaled $150. Somehow, my total came out to $139.46, which is very confusing. If $25 was taken off, the total should have been $125. When I called back for clarification, I was told that a 20% discount was already applied to the package--but that makes no sense because the package price was clearly listed as $130 on both the menu and the website. It felt misleading and honestly like I was being played. Between the pain, poor pedicure service, lack of clear communication, and confusing pricing, this was an overall horrible experience. I give Zen Nails 1 out of 5 stars and will absolutely never return

They overcharge for everything--shape, length (even when nails are short), tips--every little detail adds up, and they don't even provide a receipt. For the price, the quality and service should be much better. The quality of the nails is consistently poor. My nails are often uneven, crooked, and all look completely different. When I point it out and ask for fixes, they act like it's my fault and get visibly upset. I've even had to ask for something as basic as an extra top coat because the first one looked almost matte. The service is careless and rushed. They frequently switch nail techs mid-appointment, which happened to me recently--one person started my nails and did half, then another took over and clearly did not want to be there. I originally asked for chrome over white, but by the time we got to that step, I was so uncomfortable with the experience that when she asked if I still wanted it, I said no just so I could leave. One of the worst experiences I've had here was when a male tech stopped doing my nails halfway through because he was upset I came in about an hour and a half before closing. He complained to me the entire time. I was very apologetic because I understand that can be frustrating, but I work full-time and that was the only time I had. For how expensive their services are, I expected to feel like a valued customer--not an inconvenience. While I have built good relationships with a few people here (and there are about three I've liked, including one who has never actually done my nails), that doesn't make up for the overall experience. The manicure staff is noticeably less friendly, while the people who do pedicures are nicer. My toes are usually fine, but even then, they rush through services and spend part of the "massage time" cleaning instead of actually providing the service. I recently paid $70 for a "Long" set of dipped nails that were just basic white with zero design or detail. These nails are only about half a centimeter to a centimeter past my natural nail, so calling them "long" feels misleading. I will be attaching photos of this set in the review. What makes this most frustrating is the complete lack of accountability or care. I wouldn't be this upset if anyone had shown concern about how unhappy I was, but there was zero effort to fix the situation or make it right. At this point, it feels like a waste of money. Honestly, I could have done a better job myself. I truly wanted to love this place, but after multiple bad experiences, I can't recommend it, and honestly, I'd avoid it at all costs.

I don't know what he did but it really hurt. He also asked me if I wanted the dead skin removed from the bottom of my feet and, if so, it would be another $7.00! WTH?!? Excuse me, but thought that always came with a pedicure! I'm mad at myself that I did pay the $42 total, which I should not have done! Therefore, I'm posting this review now to spare someone else the potential agony. O yes, when I left, I was waiting for a friend walked around outside a little bit after my pedi, and looked down at my right foot, and sure enough, it was bleeding again! I went back in to the salon and requested a Band-Aid. Loudly. For all to hear. And get this- when it happened he actually blamed -his negligence- on the anatomy of my foot! No joke! They didn't even try to make it right. He hardly said anything when it happened or afterward. I was charged full price and they didn't even offer me a free visit next time. They did nothing. Very rude and most UNprofessional. My advice? Go somewhere else!

The staff was very welcoming, and we appreciated that they told us the pricing upfront--no surprises there. The drinks were a nice touch, and the salon had a friendly and clean atmosphere. My nail tech was very kind and clearly a perfectionist. She did get a little frustrated when I moved my hand, but I could tell it came from wanting everything to be just right, which I appreciated. At one point, I told her I felt a burning sensation on one of my nails, and she immediately applied a calming spray, which helped. Unfortunately, my best friend didn't receive the same level of care. During her appointment, she mentioned that her nails felt hot while the acrylic was being applied. Her tech said that happens sometimes, which we understand, as it's not unusual. But several hours later, my friend's nails are still hurting her, and she was not offered anything to soothe the discomfort, unlike I was. It feels like her concerns weren't really addressed in the moment. Additionally, she asked for a tapered square shape, but the tech told her she should ask for coffin nails next time. We know what a tapered square looks like, so that exchange felt unnecessarily dismissive. Another reason for the rating drop is that we were charged for "length"--but we both got fairly short nails. We even posted photos because it's unclear where that extra charge came from. I'm not expecting a refund, and I understand that a salon in downtown Dallas will likely cost more, but with higher pricing should come a more consistent quality of service. While parts of the experience were positive, the discomfort my friend is still dealing with, along with the shape miscommunication and unclear pricing, made this visit fall short of expectations.

After months of overall good experiences at this nail spa, I had one technician who was very rough, in all the ways. I mentioned to Kailey that I didn't want that particular technician again and why. She told me she'd take note of it. The next time I went there (with a friend) she told me she remembered that I needed a "delicate touch," which I don't. Just a normal touch would be fine. She gave my friend the rough guy. My friend audibly gasped when he grabbed her ankle. Okayyyy, so it's not just me. Later I was talking about this experience to another friend and before I described the tech in question, she was able to do so. She knew exactly who he was, be cause she had had the same experience. Finally, this very last time I went there, Kailey joked with my friend that I was late (I was exactly on time), and then she AGAIN told my tech that I really needed a delicate touch. I said "Nope. Just normal, please. Been getting pedicures for 30 years and only ever complained about one tech." After the pedicure, while my friend payed her bill, I went to the restroom. While I was in there, Kailey told my friend "And now we wait for the Queen." Ok, game over. I don't like my spa services with a side of passive aggression. I'll take my business elsewhere.
