I wasn't too thrilled when my lady & her mother said they wanted crepes that time of evening but it turned out way better than I expected for a cold dreary evening. Location was a 2 block from our hotel. I remember having a fulfilling crepe for dinner that left me satisfied and getting takeout for my sister. Food was really fresh & it included drinks that were really great, I remember having a sweet red wine that was really delicious, not sure if it was out the bottle or something they mixed but it was really good. great service & my inability to really speak French was not an issue because our super friendly waitress spoke English. Delicious crepes with an inviting atmosphere make this place one of my favorites in Paris. For a little over 20 Euros you can get a drink, savory crepe for your main course and a desert to finish it off. You won't leave hungry as the quality and amount of food for the cost makes it a wonderful value. The interior is inviting and the staff was friendly and spoke English well enough that we had no issue with translation. The savory crepe options have everything from beef to salmon and a variety of extras inside that make them gooey and delicious in every bite. Started off with a wine and blackberry drink which the wine was smooth going down and you get a hint of smoked fruit on the back end. I had the beef burger, mushroom and cream savory which no matter what bite you took it was packed with flavor. Like an omelet but 400 times better with every bite you took. For sweet I finished it off with a banana and chocolate sweet crepe which perfectly offset the savory flavors before it. They have fruit and nutella options as well. hidden gem in paris! we were craving some ice cream after a long, hot day in Paris, but there weren't many places within walking distance open at 10 pm. there was little information about the menu on Google, so we had no idea what to expect. we ordered the Belle Helene ice cream crepe. it was piled with vanilla ice cream, large chunks of pear, whipped cream, and decadent chocolate fudge. it was one of the best desserts we've ever had. it was so good, we had to come back a couple days later and try the banana split crepe, which was just as good. we didn't get to try any of their savory crepes, but i would definitely recommend Les Embruns for dessert! read more

Favorite crêpe restaurant in Paris. It was right opposite our hotel so we went there. The first time I visited was in 2014 when I had massive diarrhoea for two days from eating there ; I had their goat cheese crepe and probably too much paired alcohol . This place is great for two things: probably the best crepes I've had anywhere in the world (although "in Paris" is pretty much the same league...), and probably the best value for lunch that I've found in Paris. For about 20 Euro, you get a drink, appetizer (some amazing burrata and tomatoes is what I picked), a main course savory crepe, and a dessert (options including dessert crepes, which include their best item: ice cream crepes). Tiniest negative is they don't take AmEx, but that isn't a big deal. I don't think I'd have crepes every single day while in Paris, but I probably wouldn't get crepes anywhere but here when I do have crepes. read more

Oh my gosh. Where do I even begin? I lived in Paris for a month and a half after living in the States for all my life, and one of the biggest general differences I noticed in terms of food: smaller portions and higher prices. But not here! I got the set menu (formule) for dinner priced at 17€80 (like 17.80), and I got to choose an appetizer (entrée), buckwheat savory crêpe (galette), and dessert. First off, that price is hard to come by for a 3 course meal. I've eaten at many restaurants in Paris and 17€80 would only cover an entrée at most of them. So yes, I was very happy to eat a 3 course meal at such a friendly price... Throw in the fact that their portions are behemoth - it's such a steal!! Tip: Really, the portions are huge. I would advise against getting the formule unless 1) you're really hungry or 2) you're going to share it with 1 or 2 people. And the food... oh the food! I came here with my friends and we all got different items from the formule so that we could try everything... it was so great. The quiche appetizer is SO GOOD. I tried 3 different crêpes (forestière, provençale, forgot the last one) here and they were all so tasty. And HUGE! They literally serve you a large plate full of crêpe. I also had the crème brûlée here... oh man. I can't talk about this food anymore, it's making me miss Paris too much :P Long story short: Huge portions for the price. Come hungry! read more

We only went to one creperie in France so our expectations were high, but Les Embruns certainly met them. The English speaking waiter was incredibly polite and patient. They have an English menu too, but all the other customers were French and appeared to be locals. We got the set. I got the duck pate for the starter - along with the jam, it was amazingly delicious on toast. I was already full when the crepe came. I liked it but I would say, order the crepe with the ingredients you like. The crepe itself will be good with any ingredients. my suggestion is the same for the dessert. I do love how the chocolate sauce for the crepe was real chocolate, not like American chocolate syrup. (It was like that everywhere in Europe.) Awesome large and reasonably priced crepes from 8 to 12 euros each. Every one our family had was awesome. Crepe deserts with ice cream was terrific and well worth it over crepe only deserts which you can get anywhere. A liter of cider is only 9 euros. Don't be afraid to sit inside during warm days as it's one of the few area places that is appropriately air conditioned. This is worth a double visit on a trip if you are in the area. read more

when i first laid eyes on this place i knew it would be good. its located on the busy, restaurant/cafe filled rue de lyon, and stands out. - in a good way. It has a very clean and modern meets sophistication look going on. get this: a salad, and i'm not just saying any kind of salad. A gourmet salad that rivals or actually may even be bigger than any entree salad I've seen in Texas. And you know how Texas likes to do things big. But a huge salad, a crepe - filled with gooey gruyere cheese, artichoke hearts, and tomato sauce, thats warm, cheesy, and soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside - AND a chocolate mousse all for 15.60 euros. Thats a choice of an appetizer, entree crepe, and dessert for under $20! Not only do you get to choose three things, but you get to choose from quite an extensive list in each category. I will definitely be going back, but next time I definitely cannot do the three course menu. The leftover me and my friend had could probably have fed another 1.5 to 2 people. I was already full from the appetizer, but I had to try to eat at least half the crepe because it was so good. It's what a true crepe should be like. Have you ever had those crepes that have the soft skin, thats sometimes stretchy or a little doughy?... it is nothing like that. The crepe skin is still soft but has a bit of a crisp to it. If you're in the 12th or 4th district and don't check this place out the only person you're depriving is yourself, and whoever you're with. And trust me, they won't be happy when they find out you knew about this place, but didn't make the suggestion to go try it. read more

Warning: if you're not absolutely famished, skip the apps. The concept of 'salad' is like nothing I've seen in the gluttonous society that is North America: it's huge. It's like a main on its own. Even better, they don't comprise on the quality. Giant salads aside, this place also happens to serve some bomb-ass crepes: a bit crisp, tender, and in a wide array of different combos. The menu is approachable (Read: you can't go wrong randomly ordering) and is an excellent primer for peeps just beginning to explore the world of French fare. Please don't try to stereotype french waiters here, I will ignore you. The problem is one awful waitress who appears to be doing customers a favour by serving them.
