A tiny crowded cafe with awesome crepes and service!! I got to the cafe around 12:30 (they open at 12) and the place was packed already. Thankfully they had a tiny table available for myself. I usually have sweet crepes but this time I decided to go for savory. The crepe was just done right and the sauteed onions, ham and sunny side egg went really well together. My Viennese coffee was delicious too. Most of all, the staffs were wonderful. They were two gentlemen working on the floor, one waiter and one seemed to be the owner or manager. When I thought about where to go for the best crepes in Paris this is the only place that I could go. When I walked in they remembered me so that's a great start, right. When you are delivered a crepe that is made from the heavens all you can do is savor every mouthful. I love the egg, bacon and tomato compote crepe. Only made with the finest ingredients and the flour iS from Britannia. I can't seam to get it in the states. The bacon is out of the world sourced from a local butcher. Then there is the sweet crepes first chocolate, banana and I had them put house made strawberry ice cream on top! Then I tried the stewed Carmel Apple again you would think that cherubs flew into the restaurant with the most wonderful tastes in the world only prepared for you. My boyfriend and I loved everything part of this restaurant from the owner's friendly greeting to the ambiance to the drinks and the food to the service from beginning to end. We were in Paris on Valentine's Day and the plan was to make stops at various cafes and patisseries around town. My boyfriend's only request for the day was crepes, and he wanted "salty crepes" in particular. He doesn't have a big sweet tooth like me... ;) I can't exactly remember where I found out about Galette Café, but I'm glad I discovered it because it was the place to have lunch on our dessert day. As we were walking to the restaurant, we noticed there is a university nearby and I believe it is their Faculty of Medicine building across the street. We were afraid there would be a long wait and of course, there was a large group of people standing outside the restaurant. As I approached the gentleman at the door (who we later learned is the owner of the restaurant), he told me it would not be a long wait for the two of us because he just turned down a group of 15 since it was a ridiculously big group for such a busy hour and of course, for such a small restaurant. In the end, we waited no more than 10 minutes. Antoine, the owner of the restaurant, is very friendly and welcoming. His English was pretty good, and he made every effort to make sure our dining experience was enjoyable. The other server was very friendly and accommodating as well. My boyfriend started with a Coffee with Milk, while I tried the Artisanal Apple Cider (an alcoholic drink and the type of cider is known as "cidre brut" which is strong and dry). The apple cider is a must-try as it is different from the North American alcoholic cider. I thought it tasted like apple juice with a bit of prunes mixed with alcohol. It was quite interesting. (My boyfriend actually liked it so much we bought a bottle of "cider brut" later that week to drink on our last night in Paris. It was not the same, but I believe the brand that Galette Café offers is not available in stores). As for our "salty crepes", we ordered the Artisanal Gourmet Sausage buckwheat galette, as well as the Scallops a la Plancha buckwheat galette. The sausage galette is all right, but nothing too special. The scallops galette, on the other hand, was delicious. I am not a big fan of leek, but the the leek "fondue" was good and it went well with the fresh, perfectly pan-seared scallops. To our surprise, the galettes were quite filling and despite wanting to try a sweet crepe before walking into the restaurant, we did not order one. However, I am pretty sure we will be back next time we are in Paris, and considering it is very close to Pont des Arts and Notre-Dame Cathedral, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in the area and is looking for savoury crepes. read more

Crepes were pretty good but the atmosphere was extremely awkward for my friend and I (both Americans). We had just come from the Louvre and sat down with our water bottles in tow (because the Louvre was huge and we got thirsty) when the hostess pointed at our bottles and told us it wasn't okay to drink it in the restaurant. Regardless, we weren't planning on drinking it in the restaurant and so it was extremely awkward and condescending. After our crepes arrived, one of the young male servers kept staring at me as I attempted to eat the crepe. He went between looking at me and laughing with the other male server (maybe 3 minutes of this), which only led me to believe he was mocking my American mannerisms and inability to correctly eat a crepe. This was my girlfriend and I's very first stop when we landed in Paris. Speaking little French (and on the verge of starvation) I was a little nervous about venturing into a restaurant and attempting to order our first meal. The staff at Galette recognized my sweaty American nervousness as soon as I started rambling off my broken French. To my pleasant surprise, they welcomed us (in perfect English) and even presented us with a menu in English (this was a little embarrassing, but our hunger clouded any awkwardness at that point). The food (we ordered a goat cheese and apple crêpe) was exactly what one pictures at a upscale French cafe. Light, simple and fresh. In my opinion the best crepe I've ever had! After devouring our small meal, I collected my wits and thanked our waiter in French, letting him know our meal was "ç'est magnifique". Just came back from paris last week, i really wanted to try the buckwheat crepes in paris and was looking for a place that is not too touristy or crowded and after reading yelp and tripadvisor, i decided to pay this place a visit. The guy who worked at this cafe is very young, energetic and speaks very good english, i believe he is the owner. My husband and I ordered the savory crepe, one with egg, cheese and ham and the other with chicken, mushroom and apple. Both crepes were very delicious. We happened to just stumble upon this place and choose it because we were starving, but it has been our best meal as in Paris thus far! We started with the vegetable crepe - the cheese was great and the veggies were cooked so nicely. We then had a chocolate and a caramel dessert crepe. Came here based on its reviews on trip advisor and we were not disappointed. Although it was a little far from the Metro and off the side to the main road. I got the chocolate and banana sweet crepe and it was delicious!! The portions are huge and definitely will fill you up. My recommendation though is to get any of the savory buckwheat crepes. They are way better than the sweet crepes and the toppings are very interesting. The service here is amazing. They make sure you are accommodated and speak English pretty well. Sooo gonna start with not really a crepes expert. Relied heavily on yelp but to me it was great. We ordered the profiterole crepes, homemade salted butter caramel, and creole. We were greeted at the door. Received great service. The profiterole is covered with a dark chocolate that isn't too bitter but does have a kick in the first bite. The crepe is cooked well and ice cream is nice and light. Blends well with the meal. Not much difference with the creole other than it had bananas. The salted butter caramel was ok if you don't want ice cream but I felt it was lacking the ice cream. Again just a preference not anything against the food. I want to give this place 3.5/5. I came here after seeing some good reviews on Yelp. It's on a very cool street with a bunch of emporiums and boutiques (very pricey). The wait staff here spoke excellent English and we had no issues communicating. I tried both a savoury galette and a sweet crepe. The galette was made of buckwheat and, to my surprise, was very well seasoned. I got the vegetable galette, which I thought would be plain and tasteless, but the vegetables were also cooked and seasoned to perfection. I was surprised how well they made what could have easily been a bland dish. Definitely recommend the galettes! The sweep crepe, on the other hand, was not one of the better ones I've tried in Paris (as well as elsewhere). The crepe itself was a bit more rubbery than I would have liked and the ice cream was nothing special. The in-house chocolate sauce was delicious though! Overall, the prices were reasonable and I'd definitely recommend coming here for the savoury galettes. This lovely little restaurant was the perfect ending to a busy day of museum going. Our bedraggled family of four staggered in at around 7:30 and were treated to an unexpectedly lovely experience when all we were hoping for was a decent meal at good value. The food was fast and delicious. I had the scallop gallette, the boys had veggie ones, and my dh had the andouille sausage. The locally made cider was amazing and thirst-quenching. We are actually trying to figure out how to get it here in the states. Although the food was phenomenal, probably our favorite part about our visit would be how kind and accommodating the staff were.
