Great ambiance for a casual dinner with friends or family. The service was wonderful as the waiter was attentive and speedy. They had a great selection of entrees that differed from many of the adjacent cafes. I would recommend this place for small groups and couples.

Solo dined here as a tourist and absolutely loved it! The staff was super friendly and constantly checked in on me. It's situated at the corner right in front of the Metro, perfect for people watching. Ordered duck confit and French onion soup and it filled up my warm belly. I would definitely return again the next time I visit Paris. It's easily walkable from Le Bon Marche and lots of shopping around.

My partner and I ate here on our last night in Paris unplanned as the bistro looked inviting and the menu agreeable. Located on a busy corner in a great neighborhood (Montparnasse) it competes with two other bistros on the same corner and it's always busy. Finding a table inside or on the sidewalk never seems to be a problem and one is welcomed and seated quickly. We were greeted by Julian and sat outside amongst other Parisiens. He brought out complimentary homemade potato chips that had no taste and stale. We ordered the veal Milanese with linguine and chicken escalope with pasta in a mushroom sauce. The veal came out on metallic hot plate with the pasta. Both food came out warm, tasty and delicious. The Parmesan came out shredded just how I like it. All in all was a good meal and highly recommend this place.

Located along Rue de Rennes in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, this cafe values comfort, generous portions, and quality service. We were pleasantly surprised to see a pretty extensive dinner menu, with a wide range of options to choose from. Popular attractions in this area include Le Bon Marché, Le Jardin du Luxembourg, Les Deux Magots, Tour Montparnasse, and Saint-Germain-des-Prés. The cafe has a cool, dark aesthetic, with wooden furniture and black painted walls. Seating is plentiful inside and out, with chairs facing the street for people-watching. We sat outside in the patio area, under the awning. Communicating in English was a breeze, and Visa/Mastercard is accepted. If you're visiting for a small bite, you will find crepes, Croque Madame, croissants, ice cream, and other cafe items. Main course items included appetizers (escargot), salads, meat dishes, seafood, and pasta. Hamburger maison was a wonderful combination of cereal bread, a thick juicy patty, served with a side of salad and fries. Fish & chips tasted good as expected, with a nice crispy batter. Penne pasta with salmon is decent choice. A majority of the dishes are around or above €15. Choosing a place to eat on this road is hard, with many cafes, brasseries, and restaurants to choose from. I would recommend walking around and check out the menus, which are almost always posted outside. Le Trait d'Union and L'Horizon are across the street, and seem more popular. I found that Le Saint Placide was quieter, but a more relaxing environment with simple yet solid dinner options.

Open early with amazing customer service! With a warm and inviting atmosphere, the staff made me feel welcome. The restaurant offers fair pricing and does not try and take advantage of the language difference. The food is delicious, with freshly squeezed orange juice and chocolate-topped cappuccinos that will ensure that you start your Parisian adventures on a good note!

Quick service - and they speak English. The breakfast was fresh and quick at a reasonable price. Loved the fresh squeezed orange juice and the decaf coffee was surprisingly flavorful. We stayed at the Holiday Inn across the street and made this a quick 15min stop before leaving the city.

My mom and I came for a late dinner one evening around 9. I find that when I travel abroad I tend to crave a big healthy salad. (Maybe it was all the sugary waffles and buttery croissants...) Once we saw the menu, we were hooked. We split a salad and some pasta. I also ordered a glass of wine. (When it's only like 4 euros a glass, how can you not?) The pasta was decent, but the salad was our fav. We decided to end the meal with a mini dessert sampler and espresso. The espresso was good, but the desserts weren't worth it. I'd rather have some churros or a grand marnier and Nutella crepe from a street vendor (don't judge). The service was great. Overall a very pleasant experience.

They speak english, which was fine, I ordered the supreme and it was okay. Nothing out of the ordinary. My mom ordered an omelette with ham, but got an omelette with cheese. We sent it back, and then got a burnt omelette back. Like the chef got angry at us for wanting to correct the mistake? I cant really call it anything else other than bad service. The waitress was fine, though! Spoke english well, and was understanding. She even removed the bad dish from our tab, so 3 stars for that in itself. Thanks for the read!

Excellent service, wait staff very attentive. Food even better! We ordered escargot, beef tartare, and lamb. Give their vin chaud (hot wine) a try too

I came to this area to find the restaurant I wanted to try was closed for the day. Unfortunately I didn't have data so I couldn't quickly yelp a place to eat so after wandering around the street, Jay C. and I decided to eat here. There are several cafes at this intersection but we chose this one merely for the menu that was in English. The food was fine-- slightly overpriced but I figured it was because of the area. I was tricked by the "homemade" ice tea which turned out to be a small bottle of lipton tea. The drinks are very expensive here so I would just stick with tap water (make sure you specify tap or else they will bring you bottled water). I had an opened faced sandwich which came with a side salad. The sandwich had wayyyy too much cheese for my liking, but I just ended peeling it off and eating the bread. All in all not a bad place to grab a quick bite to eat. As stated before the menu is in English and the waitresses spoke English as well.

Absolutely loved this little place near our hotel. Breakfasts were the best we had during our stay in Paris. You can either do the typical French breakfast of baguette or croissant and coffee + orange juice or go American style and have eggs and cold meats added to your breakfast. We loved the croissants here and ended up having breakfast at St Placide on 4 of the 6 mornings. Even stepped in late one night for some soup and dessert.

Nice place, with fair food. The boss of this café-restaurant and his deputy, generally behind the bar, are very friendly. The rest of the staff could be more empathic and kinder as they usually are. I frequently attend this bar, and like very much the part close to the counter. When ordering a "croissant", they also give you jam, which is rather nice and rare in cafés... A good place in this area !

Audacious breakfast

Came here for breakfast was having a hard time finding a restaurant with early hours and good breakfast. Thanks to yelp I found this little cafe near my hotel. And boy it was delicious !! We each got the audacious breakfast (10.70 euros) it brought a lot of items for a great price in my opinion. It brought a piece of French bread with butter, a croissant, jam, hot chocolate or coffee, fresh orange juice, bacon and two fried eggs. The French bread with very soft with a nice not too hard exterior. The croissant was very good alone and the jam made better. I ordered the hot chocolate which was very good did not taste like a watered down hot chocolate. The orange juice was real fresh orange juice very delicious considering it's hard to get. The bacon was just a tad bit salty but wasn't bad considering the eggs weren't salted. But everyone has their own taste. In the end if you're American and barely speak French they're very friendly here. The menu has English and French side the waitress knew English she was very nice and friendly. She was alone waitressing but was still on top of helping her costumers. She also didn't give off any vibe of being over whelmed. I highly recommend this cafe if you can make it.

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

Plus, what he prepared was delicious! We started with the ravioli appetizer we see so often recommended. Excellent! Dinners were a beef dish and a chicken dish. Both were amazing! There are two tables essentially in the kitchen (a true "Chef's Table" arrangement) and maybe 6 tables in the adjoining room. We were welcomed warmly. Deborah was the hostess and server. Chef Hugo is visible in the kitchen, working very hard to make everything just perfect. They brought bread immediately (my husband loved the sliced baguette--it was perfect and chewy as it should be, but not hard). We ordered a bottle of wine, a Macon Villages, which was perfect. I had the cucumber salad appetizer, which was so fresh. My husband ordered the ravioli appetizer--tiny little rectangles in a scrumptious sauce--a work of art. I ordered the fish and shrimp plate. The sauce was amazing and it was a huge portion of tender white fish. My husband had the lamb with frites. It was nicely seasoned & perfectly done. For dessert, my husband enjoyed a chocolate treat and I had refreshing raspberry sorbet. Deborah was so friendly and solicitous throughout the meal. I have never felt so well taken care of. (I have seen some comments from people who are unhappy that they can't just walk in. They don't appear to understand that there is only one seating. People arrive when they do and they linger. Empty tables seen from the street do not mean the place is not fully booked. Make a reservation well ahead of time. It is worth it!)
