We visited this place for dinner, and got sat immediately when we got there at 10. They take reservations for dinner but I heard the wait is usually long. Waitress wasn't helpful at all when we ordered. She forgot about water when we have been sitting forever. Tried their pigeon/ risotto and lobster bisque/ foie gras/ pork feet. Our waitress brought back a completely different dish from the risotto I ordered. And she started showing attitude. She brought back her manager as if she didn't understand our order. Arguing with her. Not only the service, all the other dishes were super salty and too flavorful. The only thing that was edible from what we ordered was the lobster bisque and Caesar salad. Les Cocottes gets full five stars because it's overall food, ambiance, and service. Unlike other snobby Parisian establishments that intend to pretend how popular and hard to get a seat in last minute. It was poring rain and a party of 2 (luckily) were welcomed with open arms to the bar section of the restaurant. There can be hassle to get an open table since I walked past this restaurant many times and saw the line out the door. The menu changed often so it would be hard to gauge a reccomendation for food. My entree was The Tournedos de paler which is beef chuck that was cooked to perfection. The meat literally melted in my mouth. (€ 32,00 and worth it). It's a lighter edition of steak compare to buttery American steaks. There was no trace of a brunt portion on the outside of the meat. The mashed potato was a very small portion and not creamy BUT perfect ! Also, you must order the Chocolate tart, it's just a must ! Parisians take chocolatering very seriously. Give or take, a couple is bound to spend $100.00 USD here which is not "bad" considering you would be avoiding tourist trap food. Besides, you would be indulging in Christian Constant's great art ! This has been my favorite place to eat in Paris so far. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. The food was on the pricey side but was worth it. My mom, my dad, and my entrees both came out very quickly. There was a order misorder but it was still good Steak: 5 stars. It was very juicy but was firm and very tasty! The potatoes that came on the side were sweet. The salad was just salad.. The potatoes stuffed with ground pig feet was very tasty but the pig feet had a texture of ground beef with the taste of pork. Exotic. The scallops had a nice flavor and was moist and tender. Very well prepared The taste was mild on the sweet side. For dessert we had the coffee tiramisu and two scoops is vanilla ice cream and one scoop of pear sorbet. The coffee tiramisu was amazing! A thick layer of marscpone over the cake soaked in coffee. Just the right sweetness. The pear sorbet was very mild and was very peary. Visiting Paris from Toronto with my girlfriend, and decided to stop here after seeing rave reviews on Yelp. We both ordered their four-course daily special selection, which was reasonably priced at 35 euros each (incl. tax) for an appetizer, entree, cheese plate and dessert. The appetizer was a green bean salad with foie gras (salade haricot verts et foie gras). The beans were perfectly prepared, retaining a lot of their crunch. The foie gras on top was excellent as well. I went into this thinking the foie gras would be the star but the beans were really that good. The entree was roasted veal with a mushroom risotto. Veal was perfectly cooked, was very tender, and had great flavour. The risotto was perfectly seasoned, the mushrooms retained their texture and added a lot of flavour. Combined, the two were perfect, as one would expect from a fairly classic dish. Cheese platter was a nice little treat after a fairly heavy entree. I was a little pessimistic about the blueberry compote pairing with a fairly sharp cheese (I'm not sure what kind of cheese it was), but the combination was delightful. I'm not normally a big cheese eater, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lastly, the dessert was a mixed berry pavlova, which is a meringue dessert. The meringue was OK, but the berries, and in particular the strawberries (which I think are in season right now), were incredible. As someone who has tasted strawberries fresh from the farm, these tasted as close to that as I have experienced at any restaurant. Delightful end to an amazing meal. Lastly, I'm generally not someone who worries too much about the service (it's a hectic, fast-paced job), but the service here was great. My French is limited to what I learned in grade school, but the staff was willing and able to communicate to me in English. This is the type of place where everything on the menu sounds so good (as is!), you just have to come back and try more. Or as we did, order as much food as you can before your body realizes its full. We started with the prawn and crab salad. It was a little different from expected but very delicious. For our main dishes, we got the beef cheek stew and the lobster bisque. My friend said the stew was ah-mazing. While the lobster bisque ravioli was some of the best bisque I have ever had, the portions of ravioli lacked any sort of chunks of lobster whatsoever which was a little disappointing. So, still hungry, I ordered special of the day which was a sort of rotisserie chicken. Very good, but nothing special. The food was great but I felt they could do a bit more to make it stand out. Yet another location I learned of from the incomparable Anthony Bourdain, I also bookmarked Les Cocottes back in 2010 but our schedule was so jam packed we missed it completely. Upon entering the sleek and casual space you're met with a row of bar seats perfect for quick style dining or a meal for 1.  I love that the French are so into wine and cuisine, it's very common to catch local diners popping in for their fave dishes alone while chatting up the servers.  A clear indication that Les Cocottes is as much a local neighborhood eatery as it is a culinary destination. Menu Old fashioned shellfish bisque with combawa chantilly  I'm allergic to lobster so sadly I couldn't sample this soup but le hubs said it was beautifully done.  Light, creamy, and very French he cleaned this dish with not only his spoon, but with our basket of bread as well and left no drop behind, lol. Poached egg with crispy bacon and rocket salad  I love a good savory salad especially with caramelized chunks of crispy bacon rendered both in the dressing and generously doused atop.  Every fork full of crunchy, chewy, sweet and salty bacon...yummmmm. Special starter of the day: Mixed morel sauteed mushrooms If you love woodsy, earthy mushrooms you'll love this dish.  But be forewarned, it might be a bit pungent for some so proceed with caution. Basque ham from Ospital charcuterie They are infamous for their charcuterie so order as much as your little heart can handle. Caramelised potatoes stuffed with pig's feet I always try to look for the most unique dishes on a menu and order just that.  Something I can't easily find in the states, this stuffed potato dish was heavier than anything I typically eat.  But the flavors were so authentic it reminded of something Gramma would make for Sunday supper.  Hearty and delish! Their seasonal fish for the day: Seabream with capers Very French in technique and execution, the potato underneath made it a bit heavy but very refreshing nonetheless.  If you're in Orange County, Marche Moderne in South Coast Plaza makes a MEAN sea bream and the very reason it's one of my favorite fishes of all time. I wanted a plate of cheese for dessert but was so dang stuffed trying to finish all of the above, I opted for 'Mamia' from the Pays Basque with acacia honey instead.  A very traditional basque dessert of curdled milk and french pastry cream, it tastes like a cross between regular yogurt and cream cheese with a texture akin to Vietnamese Almond tofu.  Super light, bouncy, and the perfect ending to this contemporary French cuisine by Christian Constant. Overall the least traditional out of all the restaurants we dined during our 5-day stay in Paris.  Sometimes you're over all the bread, butter, and cheese (Well YOU, not me, like EVERRR) lol... but when le hubs couldn't handle any more truffle cream foie gras reduced sauces, this was the place to go! read more

Excellent food and great service. The dish pictured was the salmon which was raw (sashimi style) with lemon. The fish practically melts in your mouth. The special of the day, chicken thigh was to die for, moist and cooked to perfection, sweet potatoes purée was smooth and delicate. Portions are not large but enough to satisfy you. Paris reminds me a lot of New York City. Cosmopolitan, urban, bright lights, nonstop action, tons of high end shops, and hundreds of quality restaurants. Sh*t!!! I'm so not a planner. Let me take that back. I didn't have very specific plans when I got to Paris. Here's the problem- it's early on a Friday night and I'm hungry as hell. Hmmm, ok, Yelp app leads me to this place with numerous positive reviews. This place? Sorry, I mean Les Cocottes. Ok, my French is nonexistent, let me go back to using "this place". THIS PLACE! You know, there are no bright lights around here. It's not nestled amongst a lot of nonstop action. It's not next to a Coach or Louis Vutton store. It's in a very quiet, nondescript area. Yelp app? Are you lying to me AGAIN?? If you've read some of my reviews, you'd know it would not be the first time! Walking inside, the décor is very homey and pub-ish. The staff is quite friendly and accommodating, Take that, stereotypes about French mannerisms! Interestingly, our waitress started talking to me in English right off bat. I think she's just really good at identifying tourists. The middle aged American couple sitting next to us were perplexed and swore that I dressed like a Frenchman. Well, Tony Parker (a Frenchman) managed to land Eva Longoria. Hmmm, ok, I'll be a Frenchman! Vive le français! Ok, I digress. The menu is limited with a small variety of dishes along with the specials that are read off by the wait staff. Feeling a little adventurous, I went with the special of Swordfish with Mushroom Risotto. Best meal of my trip. The Swordfish (served whole, minus the head) was crispy on the outside but so moist and tender on the inside. It was also seasoned and packed with flavor. In my top three of best fish dishes I've ever had. Now, the risotto? I thought I would have the best Italian dish of my life when I went to Italy as part of this trip. Boy, was I wrong. It was FRANCE! That risotto was just perfect in all facets. Perfectly prepared, the mushroom flavor was evident yet balanced and the cheese flavor was noticeable without being over the top. Basically, it was highly addicting. So much so that my new found American friends drooled over my shoulder. BACK UP OFF ME! Cherry on top? The price! The bill was roughly 60 euros with tip, which equals out to a little over $80. Not bad at all, especially after doing more research on this place. Turns out, Les Cocottes is one of four restaurants owned by Christian Constant, who is a renowned Michelin starred French chef. He is also a judge on the French version of Top Chef. THIS PLACE! Another fabulous meal in Paris. We walked over here after checking out the Eiffel Tower. The restaurant doesn't take reservations so get there early! We were lucky to get bar seating without a wait. The glorious reviews were in favor of the langoustine dish, but we refrained. I ordered from the specials chalkboard in which our waiter gladly translated for me (they offer english menus but specials are in French). I got everything from the specials chalkboard which was the soft boiled egg appetizer, roasted chicken and the creme brûlée for dessert. He got the steak sirloin. We shared the breaded egg which was perfectly soft boiled. When punctured the oozy yolk ran out. It was served with caramelized sweet onions, lardons and a very light sauce and a piece of toast to dip. We loved it! My chicken was roasted chicken served with mashed potatoes and they called it a salad but it was a wedge of greens. The chicken was moist and well seasoned. And those mashed potatoes were so smooth and buttery. His steak was requested medium rare but served more on the rare side. The beef was tender and mini roasted potatoes and salad were served with it on a skillet plate. Our meal was well rounded, and again we shared one of his favorites for dessert, a vanilla creme brûlée. I'll eat creme brûlée but usually don't see the fuss in it, until now. Les Cocoettes' was so creamy and well flavored with vanilla. The torch hit it in all the right places to get it browned and get that hard shell. Affordable and delicious. Beautiful space too. If you only have one meal to eat during your 72 hour jaunt in Paris, let it be at Les Cocottes de Christian Constant. Who are we joking? You're in Paris. You should be eating nine lavish meals! Les Cocottes was just my style and the number one meal I had in Paris. The others paled in comparison. Let's start at the beginning. There are no reservations, which I love because you just go and line up. So at any given day if you choose to eat well in Paris you can. I tried another day to dine at La Regalade Saint Honore and got denied at the door. It was a sad last day. But I'll always have Les Cocottes! On to the food. For starters, both salads sounded great but we chose the real Cesar Ritz Salad. Christian Constant worked at the Ritz before he famed on Top Chef so this sounded like a solid choice. It was refreshing and filling. The portions are just right at Les Cocottes. It's fancy without being dainty or frou frou. We had large chunks of chicken in our salad and it was perfect to power us up again after a long day of walking. We also got a bowl of cream of leek , potato, and scallop. The soup didn't look like much but it was fantastic. The scallops were tender and meaty and however long it took me to sip by the spoonful the hot soup, the scallops did not overcook. For our large cocottes we picked the sirloin steak, grilled, salt and pepper and suckling lamb "en cocotte" thyme and lemon with crusty polenta. The steak was okay, really just plain and simple. You had to add your own seasoning but they cooked it rare which I requested and loved. Very juicy and soft. The side greens and potatoes were so delicious. The lamb was amazing. Not gamey at all. That dish was perfection. The special of the day pork loin with pasta looked really good too but on this day I was craving beef, so beef it was. We were not going to miss out on dessert so we got the chocolate mousse Roseline and special molten pistachio cake with white chocolate, cream, and strawberries. The cake was just as our neighbor described "phenomenal". The mousse could have used a little décor, maybe a mint sprig or some berries, but the flavor was all there. It was rich and light at the same time. The texture was airy as if it had been whipped. I will have to return one day to try the fabulous Christian constant chocolate tart and waffle with Chantilly cream, chocolate, and salty caramel. I could be fat city at Les Cocottes and proud. Given the location there are quite a few tourists but it is also a very French and local crowd. I mean, what tourists arrive on motorcycles with their babies in the backseat? We also shared a table with the nicest Canadian couple. No issues with sharing a table at all. Eat, drink, be merry and swap travel stories. It's the life. Les Cocottes was featured in No Reservations 100th Episode: Paris. Chef Christian Constant's restaurant literally does not take reservations, but since it's only a short walk from the Eiffel Tower, we planned our trip so that we arrived just before they opened at 7pm on a Saturday evening. Good timing, as there was already a line starting to form outside. When the doors opened, we were lead to 2 seats at the long bar which extends from the entrance back to the doors of the kitchen. Most of the seating here is at the counter. There are only a handful of tables which are saved for larger parties, but I wouldn't recommend dining here with a large party. If you do, you're more than likely going to have to wait for a spot. Once seated, we couldn't help but chat it up with the older Parisian couple next to us who told us they dine here regularly. We asked them what they recommend, and they said everything is good! For starters, he had the Langoustine Ravioli. Thin al dente pasta nestled a sweet langoustine filling in a savory sauce which was both creamy and light. (I knew I done good when I saw him reach for bread to sop up ALL the extra sauce.) I couldn't pass up the Terrine de Campagne, this is a recipe from the Chef's apprenticeship, and comes in a huge portion. I don't know which of these starters I enjoyed more. "Les Cocottes" are cast iron pans, and as you can imagine, the restaurant is known for cooking and serving in this type of cookware. He had the Cocotte of Lamb & Seasonal Vegetables, and I chose the Cocotte of the Day: Chicken Fricasee with Asparagus. Both were done very well and beautifully presented with vibrantly colored vegetables against the black pots. We ended the meal by sharing the Dessert of the Day: Pain Perdu with Salted Caramel Sauce. The "lost bread" had the density of cheesecake, but was not overwhelmingly rich since it was not too sweet with a strong flavor of vanilla. Not a crumb of bread or drop of caramel remained in that staub pot when we were done! A very memorable meal. Wonderful in every way! I would have liked to come here multiple times. :) Jet lagged and dreary-eyed, Husband and I waltzed in here around 3:30pm, and were looking forward to our meal. It was a full house, and we ended up having to wait about 20 minutes or so. While waiting, I couldn't help but observe the enjoyment all the diners had on their faces. A broad range of nationalities and ages were represented as well, and each were savoring each bite in a relaxed setting. We saddled up to the front of the bar, and got comfy. The entire menu looked excellent, but we relinquished to choosing 4-5 small plates to share. This is what we got. 1- Ravioles de langoustines, mousseline d'artichauts (Langoustine ravioli with artichoke mousseline, 16€): Crowd favorite, and for good reason. The silkiness in the handmade pasta was so smooth and soft with just the right amount of chew made me crave some more. Each ravioli was huge in size, and the filling was not only flavorful but balanced in proportion. The mousseline sauce was the anchor to the dish, and we were so glad that they gave us bread to sop up that deliciousness. Mmm...I salivate just thinking about it. At 16€, it was beyond worth it, and I would have gotten two orders. 2- Confit de foie gras de canard, pain de campagne (Confit of duck foie gras, whole wheat toasts, 14€): So good too. Enough bitterness but just a slight sweetness made this a great snack. Paired with some vin (wine), this dish gets transformed even more. Great portion to share. 3- Pigeon rôti au four, ail confit et jeunes carottes, navets et oignons (Roast pigeon, confit garlic, baby carrots, turnip and onions, 29€): Really juicy and tender, and with a subtle smoky flavor. The carrots, turnips, and onions were soft enough without being mushy. The confit garlic was mind blowing, and when you cut into it it pairs beautifully with the meat of the pigeon. Good size pigeon for two, and the skin was delicious. :) 4- Bisque de crustacés à l'ancienne légèrement crénée (Old fashioned shellfish bisque, 7€): This one was probably the only dish that was a tad salty, but the flavors were still harmonious. It truly was an old-fashioned bisque, and the portion was more than enough for two. 5- Cocotte du jour (chicken liver with mushrooms in chicken foam, 16€): Beautifully plated with a crispy tart perched on top of the bath of chicken liver, mushrooms, and foam, I'd vote to get their daily special if you can. Definitely worth it, and highlights the technique and ingredients the best. In hindsight, we probably should have ordered fewer dishes so we could sample dessert. Prices were very reasonable given the location and ingredients. No reservations might turn a lot of people away, but they are open every day. Service was great, and we had a fun time chatting with the wait staff. Some other patrons didn't seem so patient, and as a result, became frustrated with the wait. All I have to say is, you're in Paris, and enjoy every moment of it. Once you get over the slower pace of things, you'll have a wonderful time, and the food speaks for itself. This meal was just phenomenal. You know when you have a meal that you'll remember for a long time to come? That was this meal. I love the set-up of the restaurant. It's not big at all, but we were still able to walk right in on a Thursday night around 7pm, maybe we're lame for eating so "early" in Paris... Whatever, I'm just glad we were able to eat here! Since it's small, you pretty much either sit at the bar, or longer bar like tables. I believe there may have been a couple regular seats in the back, but I'm not sure. I don't mind sitting at the bar at all, so this was great. I especially like to do that so we can chat with the staff/bartenders. Which is nice because they suggested both my delightful drinks, a champagne cocktail, and a nice white wine from their wide selection. Every single item I ate was just packed with flavor. The Tomato gazpacho with little bits of shrimp was excellent. My main dish, a Cod in vinegar with eggplant and zucchini made me want to scream out loud from how much flavor was in one dish. i mean, seriously, folks. Nothing was bad about my meal. I am so thankful i didnt. The pictures honestly does not do this place justice. Service (2/5) Its true, Parisians are very rude. But IMO, they just dont like Americans. If you smile and try to be nice to them.. you might get a smile back. Don't ask whats good though.. cause they hate that! SHELLFISH BISQUE (5/5 - 7eu) MY GOD......... I am not exaggerating when I say this was the best seafood bisque I have ever tasted. It had so much flavor and was a huge portion. The pieces of homemade croutons were delicious. LAMB SHOULDER WITH POTATOES (5/5 - 16eu) This was something new on the menu.. It was so tender. So much flavor. the sauce was incredible. Wow! First dinner in Paris and we are officially blown away. If this is what French food always taste like - then I'd like to move here. We had the chef's signature potatoes stuffed with pigs feet, lobster salad, potato leek soup, pork shoulder with potatoes, strawberries and mascarpone cheese with biscuits, and waffles with chantilly lace and salted caramel. Everything was seriously delicious. If you do not know what to order just order what we did as mentioned above! Abominable service but decent food. The servers are terribly slow (with seating/ordering/checking up). We arrived at 8PM, seated by 8:40 (no line, but server/host was too busy gossiping with the table of regulars), ordered at 9:20 and food arrived 10PM. Servers were extremely standoffish even by Parisian standards. We noticed there were other Americans in the restaurant who seemed to be very frustrated at the lack of service they were receiving. I ordered the Caesar Salad (which came with chicken, although not stated on the menu). It was a bit bland, I would skip this completely. I also had a "Cocotte" of Cod Fillet. It was just right, had a slight asian vegetable flavor to it. I had a chance to try the Sea Bass in shellfish sauce. It was an interesting dish. The sea bass was cooked perfectly, but the shellfish sauce was not so great. Although their dessert offerings did sound interesting, we were not about to stay for another hour and a half to try it. They have wines by the glass on tap. Ask for an English menu, they will have it inside. Also, like most restaurants in Paris, you will pay for water (unless you specifically ask for tap). read more

OMGGGGG. Best best best tasting food in Paris. We were here for 10 days and ate at all the top reviewed places on yelp and this place was BY FAR the best. FYI We were reading the menu and saw that you can get a formule (meal combo) during lunch time for way cheaper. One of the waitresses said the menu and portion sizes were the same during lunch... Just the prices were cheaper. She even said it was less crowded. So might want to check it out then. There was no line when we went. It was about 8pm and we got seated immediately! Order the langoustine ravioli entree (appetizer) and pasta risotto with squid as a main. The langoustine ravioli has a foamed pink broth but the foam has Sooo much flavor. Almost tasted like a lobster bisque - we were dipping our bread in it to get every last bit! Under the foamy sauce are a couple of pieces of ravioli stuffed with langoustine (think crawfish that taste like mini lobsters), and there's an underlying artichoke mousseline sauce that was so tasty. The pasta risotto was made with tiny pieces of pasta made as a risotto with Parmesan and it was deliciousss! There were tiny pieces of sausage and sun dried tomatoes in the risotto that really added to the taste. There was also squid perfectly cooked on top. We also got skewered shrimp with a medley of vegetables. This dish was not as good, I'd recommend the others and not this. The shrimp had that almost paste-like texture that it gets when it's overcooked and honestly didn't taste too great, and though the vegetables were tasty, it wasn't worth the price and I would rather have tried something else off the menu. We also tried the waffle with cream and chocolate sauce and a daily special dessert of berry ice cream with a chantilly meringue. These were good but weren't the stars of the meal and I've had better elsewhere. Despite a couple of misfires, the good dishes were soooooo great that I'm so glad we didn't miss out on this restaurant and I'd highly recommend it! This place does get really busy closer to prime dinner time so make reservations or go early. I basically loved every dish here! The foie gras, potato stuffed pigs feet, and the foamy delicious Langoustine ravioli! All very tasty! The Chocolate Tart was also amazing! I spent the last two weeks in Paris running studies for my dissertation and I ate at a different good, yelp-tested restaurant for lunch and dinner basically every day. This place along with Frenchie are the winners. I didn't go until last night for the first time. Tonight, as my last Parisian supper, I came back again. It's that good. It's not just the food, which is completely on its own the huge selling point, but they also have some of the nicest, most patient, and most openly bilingual waiters in the city. Ridiculous. Yesterday I had the caesar salad, the minestrone, the cod, and the chocolate tarte with a quarter litre of Saint Emillion. The caesar salad was big and very fresh with thin strips of high-quality chicken breast. The Minestrone was kind of the low point of both meals because it was toeing the line between subtle and tasteless, but it was refreshing and tasted healthy. The cod had a lot of flavor and came in the crock with sundried tomatoes, kalamata olives, and what looked like fennel but tasted less annoying. The chocolate tarte was like what chocolate pie in the diners of America wish they could become - rich, smooth, decadent, soft, and ephemeral. Tonight I had the special appetizer which was pea soup, the shellfish bisque, the lamb, and the berry crumble with the bottle of wine from Beaune, apparently called Chorey Les Beaune, " les Beaumonts " Dubois 2011. I don't particularly like how chefs lately have been putting an egg on random things and thinking that makes them artistic, but otherwise the pea soup was lovely. The bisque was completely smooth and had no chunks and it was perfectly seasoned. I know, I know. I got two soups, but it wasn't clear that the pea appetizer was a soup and I saw the bisque being served to other people yesterday and was envious. The Lamb didn't have enough meat for my tastes but the peppers, carrots, and potatoes were perfectly seasoned and the sauce was like crack. The berry crumble was flawless, although it could have used a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Basically, this place is epic and you should eat here. I also can't believe another review said it's "little off the beaten path in a quiet residential neighborhood." It's practically underneath the Eiffel Tower. read more

Unfortunately rude service can ruin any meal, regardless of the quality of the food and the high star rating. This is exactly what happened to us when we received the tourist treatment from our waitress while sitting at the bar for lunch. Now mind you we do not speak French, however we do enough to get by and are always super appreciative and kind. It has worked for both our trips to Paris, and the only other time someone was rude was at the airport at a food stand. This is somewhat expected but for Les Cocottes it was a surprise. We had actually eaten here before (about 6 years ago) and had a good meal. So it was a real surprise when we were all but ignored when we tried to order and throughout our meal. The dagger was when she was really nice to a local, repeat customer. It would have made me feel better if she was just a bitch to everyone! As far as the food it was hard to focus on it when our anger directed towards the service, however the salad with bacon that everyone mentions is worth it minus the attitude and both times their soups have been well done, and are especially satisfying on a cold day. 4 stars for food 1 star for service Rounding up to 3. read more

The food here is legitimately good, and we barely managed to snag a table amongst the din of dining locals on a Sunday night. Since their phenomenally priced menu courses are only available for weekday lunches, this was one of the few dinners I ordered a la carte, and it ended up being one of the best. Do not miss the Poached Egg Rocket Salad. It comes topped with thick bacon lardons that are divinely flavored and addictively crispy. Fat never tasted so good! The balsamic dressing is exquisite. Though I enjoyed every item we ordered, this salad was actually my favorite. Our next item was Pumpkin Soup. It looks like their soups rotate, but if this is any indication of quality, then viva la potage, 'cause this was awesome. Not sweet as I was expecting, but surprisingly homey, with just the right amount of cheese on top. For my main dish, I ordered Sirloin Steak. It was cooked to perfection (medium, as I'd asked) and seasoned with nothing but a few specks of black pepper and salt, which is all it needed, as the meat was fantastic quality. Of course I got 2 desserts, because calories don't count in France. I went with the chocolate mousse and half portion of waffle. Of the two, I preferred the mousse, which was deep, rich, and had occasional chocolate nibs for additional flavor. It was quite large for its richness, and between the two of us we could only get through half. Atmosphere is romantic but not too fancy, and service is friendly and jovial (the one time I tried to speak French, our waiter jokingly retorted "sorry, I don't speak French!"). They have daily specials--ask about them. Definitely recommended as a dinner spot for when visiting the Tower! read more

I was excited to learn that Anthony Bourdain came here with his friends who ordered dishes that look really yummy! Their coffee is OUTSTANDING. Do not get it Americanized - get it with crème. Amazing food and amazing service! If you want traditional French classics prepared in a casual setting with amazing ingredients, look no further. This is one of the best meals I've had in my entire life! We ordered the lobster bisque and lamb sweetbread to start. Then the beef cheek stew and the lamb with polenta for our main. Chocolate tart for dessert. Everything was perfectly cooked. Every thing was the perfect temperature, flavor, I can literally think of nothing I would want more than to eat this meal all over again. Delicious! Friendly staff and impeccable service. I don't read or speak French but the staff is nothing but accommodating. Sit at the bar and watch the kitchen work. Loved the standards and seriousness about quality. I loved it so much I went back twice. Les Cocettes is one of the best restaurant experiences I had in Paris. Located close to the Eiffel Tower with decent prices, I loved every dish and the bottle of wine we ordered. I really wish I could remember exactly what I had but it included egg with foam, pigeon, steak/frites, and lobster ravioli with foam (any French dish with foam is amazing). Service was great and the atmosphere was clean/pleasant with bright lighting and modern furniture. You can tell that many locals frequent this place so it must be good. Les Cocettes serves an authentic modern French meal without the high price tag. If this is what you're looking for, this is the place for you. read more

Pretty restaurant with an open kitchen. Just came for drinks, but we learned that's not allowed (per law, you have to have food too) so we went with the chicken pâté. It was AMAZING! Service wasn't great and though our drinks (cocktail of the day) were delicious, we had a little sticker shock when the check came because most other drinks on the menu were like €5 cheaper. read more

Seriously one of our favorite meals during our whole trip in Paris! Amazing!! I am so glad we 'yelped' and decided to come here to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary dinner. This was the first place by Chef Constant to try out. The place itself was packed but we arrived around 8pm and waited for about 10-15 mins. It wasn't bad at all! The waitress was SO nice and she made sure we got a good table. We started off with a bottle of blanc wine which we asked for her to recommend for us. The wine came in this clear pouch with ice to keep the wine chilled throughout dinner. :) We started off with a bowl of old fashioned shellfish bisque and flaked tuna with aubergine caviar and tomato jelly. The bisque was hands down the BEST we've ever had. We were literally spoon fighting over each other to get a taste. lol! It was creamy and filled with rich flavors. The flaked tuna was not bad, it tasted like regular cold tuna with a jelly at the bottom. Something that we probably wouldn't order again. Next up we ordered the langoustine ravioli with artichoke mousseline, it came with this foamy sauce that covered the ravioli. It had chunks of tender pieces of langoustine which was so good. By this time, I was starting to get full but we couldn't just stop there... Then we ordered the seabass with paimpol haricot beans, mushrooms and shellfish sauce.. wow... this was another amazing dish! The seabass was cooked perfectly and the sauce was SO good as well. Chef Constant definitely has his sauces down perfectly.. I can't help but spoon the rest into my mouth. haha.. Just as I thought we would be finished judging by how stuffed we were. We couldn't skip out on dessert! So we ordered the popular waffle with chantilly cream, chocolate, salty caramel sauce. We went with the half portion since it was plenty for the two of us. The waffle was delicious on itself with the chantilly cream but with the chocolate caramel sauce drizzled on top. It was devine! Don't judge.. but I also spooned the rest of the sauce into my mouth. ;) Overall a place for dinner on any occasion!! You must try!! read more

They don't take reservations past 7 pm. Thereafter its walk in. And per my observation, they made every attempt to get you seated quickly. Smaller party's make it easier for sure. The host was simply amazing at managing the stream of folks attempting to get a table. It feels like they are a bit short staffed but the guys are super polite. Plus they don't rush you at all even if they have people waiting. I don't know how they do it, but it looks like they almost keep everyone happy! On the food front, its fantastic. The portions are decent but its rich french food, so you do get full! We had the escargot for appetizer, steak, beef cheeks and the chicken for the main and rhum (rum) baba. All of it was absolutely delicious. Don't come here if you are in a rush for service. Come here for a lovely evening enjoying great food and vibe. read more

This was by far one of the best meals I have had in the last year. Starting with a cocktail of yuzu, vodka, champagnes and fruit juices, I was in for a long, lovely evening. Entrees shared between my partner and I were the foie gras which paired nicely with toast and salad, along with the langostine ravioli in a rich, creamy bisque. When we were done swimming in deliciousness, then came the main. Coté de boeuf prepared perfectly adorned with tiny peppers. This was served with potatoes au gratin in a small cocottes and green beans. Ambiance was on point, intimate yet personal and cosy. This review is a 4.5 review but since I can't give half stars I will have to round down. The food: Well-thought out and borderline "molecular" cuisine since there are foams, interesting compotes and simply interesting combo of ingredients. Starters: We ordered 1. Daily special of gazpacho (but thicker consistency) with prawns; 2. Tuna with caviar jelly on a bed of eggplants for starters. Both delicious but the tuna dish had a lot and I mean A LOT of garlic towards the latter half of the dish that it hurt my stomach. Mains: had the Seabass and lobster ravioli. The ravioli was delicious and the cream foam it came with were light and fun. The Seabass was perfectly booked but it had big kidney beans which I hate so I was not wowed by the Seabass - it was good, not FREAKKIN' amazing. Dessert: we ordered the half portion of waffle with cream and fruit compote and this magic caramel sauce. It was magical. Service: very good and we were seated right away! But me aware this place does NOT take reso and we got there just before 7 and took the last two seats at the bar and after a minute of sitting down I looked around and the place was FULL with a huge line outside. I hate lining up for restaurants in general and as much as the food was delicious, it's not somewhere I would line up for. I really enjoy simple cooking with good ingredients. I definitely do not need food served in cast iron plates everyday. Overall this place has what it takes to create the big hype but it's definitely not one of top restaurants I have tried in Paris. Perfect early dinner before attempting the stairs up the Eiffel. Like the many others before me, I was Bourdained here. I really did appreciate the no reservations, cast iron pan and the more modern wines in iced bags show. For two we did 3 starters 2 entrees and a bottle of wine. The food turn out is fast and definitely worth a try. Do try and get there early around 7 so you dont have to wait hours outside. The atmosphere is casual, a long bar opening up to a small dining section in the back all on high chairs. Mushroom soup, Crab Salad, Langoustine Ravioli, Sea Bass with clams, and Foie stuffed pigeon (delicious), TIP - when in Paris, order way too much, and taste a little bit of everything! read more
