I brought in a long dress for them to just cut the outer fabric 2 inches from the lining length. No sewing whatsoever. The guy charged me $25. I asked why so much, and he said he had to make sure it's even. Figured that he knows what to do. After taking the dress home the next day, I noticed the bottom was so uneven. I brought it back to show them and instead of apologizing, they shifted blamed me for not trying it on. First of all if you look at the picture , you can see how uneven the fabric is. Secondly, they are the experts, if they think that they can't cut it evenly without me trying it on, they should have told me, instead of blaming me. Their solution was to cut some more fabric to even it out. The dress is ruined and I don't want it to be even shorter. In my picture, look at the measure tape where one side was an inch. And the other side is longer. Therefore, do not bring your alterations here. My event is this week, and I can do anything about the dress looking like this. I am very upset! read more

I have been going here to get clothes fixed for so many years. They are quick and efficient. And I have zero complaints. I saw someone give them a negative review trying to say that they aren't very friendly. I don't think that's the case at all! They are extremely busy! This is a get in and get out kind of a business. There's a reason why they are very busy. It's because they do great work. And they have a lot of work to be done. As long as you explain exactly what you want and exactly what your expectations are, they will get it done. So for people who are complaining about the results, that's on them for not making themselves clear when they drop something off, about exactly what it is they expect. Like I said, I have been coming here for years and I have never had an issue. Everything turns out exactly how I expect it. I'm not there to strike up conversations and chitchat. And neither are they. It's a fast paced business. You wanna have a conversation? Go talk to your Starbucks barista. Go talk to your bartender. I tried Le's a couple years ago at the recommendation of my friend and had a terrible experience. I decided to give them another try since they are so local to me, but unfortunately they destroyed my dress yet again. I brought in a x-large dress than I wanted taken in to a size medium, and also brought in a size medium for them to use as a template. Seems pretty straightforward, right? I even asked twice to make sure they would also bring up the waistline in addition to resizing it, since it hung down four inches too low. Le assured me he would, and of course, he had the template dress. Went to pick it up and it was laughably altered. The waistline was still four inches too low and the armpits were sagging so low that I would have flashed people in public. I held up the two dresses and they looked nothing alike. He agreed to re-alter it but when I called the next day to pick it up, they weren't ready. I would have thought correcting a huge mistake would go first on the priority pile, but apparently not. Finally picked it up today and while they corrected the fit, the seams are all wonky and twisted. It looks so unprofessional. Messing up my dress twice, being late, and then wanting $40 for the job seemed so unfair. I asked for a discount and they begrudgingly gave me a measly $5 off. If I were the owner, I would have given half off or even comped the job to apologize to the client. Stay away from here; they don't know what they're doing. read more

I'll start with the one positive: they work fast. I was able to pick up my tailored clothes within 2-3 days, which I appreciated. That said, the quality just isn't there. I initially brought in two pairs of pants for hemming--$15 each, which seemed fair. The first job was okay (hard to mess up a basic pant hem), so I decided to try them again with a dress. Big mistake. They completely botched the tailoring and still charged me $30 for the mess. I didn't bother arguing--I value my time too much--but it's disappointing that they didn't take responsibility or even try to make it right. On top of that, the staff is unfriendly. While I don't expect over-the-top customer service, basic courtesy would've been nice--especially when the work isn't even done properly. Bottom line: fast service, but low quality, no accountability, and a bad attitude. I won't be returning, and I suggest you avoid this place too. read more

I needed to hem a blanket and I decided to check Le's Alterations out as it was highly recommended by my fellow neighbors. I arrived on a weekday an hour or so before closing and was told to wait around 15 minutes. Even though the sew job was considered really simple, I was pleasantly surprised that the job would be complete in the same day considering I just dropped in. I went to the boba shop next door and hung out there for around 20 minutes before heading back to see if the job was done to see the lady working on it still. They hemmed it pretty quickly and if I'm being nit picky - the lines were not straight and the color match was clearly off, but at least it was green and not a whole different color. However, because this was an inexpensive blanket, I didn't really mind, but I would be curious to see the quality of work for pieces that were of higher value. I have been looking for a place to hem a few pants, but I'm not quite sure I would return. YMMV though. $15 cash to hem one corner of a blanket that was detached. Not sure if that's standard, but I appreciated the quick turnaround for sure. read more

I've gone here several times for alterations for pants and bridesmaid dresses, and they're amazing. The turnaround time is incredibly quick (1-2 days for pants, the dress less than a week!). I've tried another nearby alteration service, but they took over three weeks for the same style of pants (and changed me more!). I'm quite short, and only recently learned what a game changer it is to have pants and dresses hemmed adjusted to my height. Not at all happy with this tailor. He did the repair on my curtain by redoing the pleats completely wrong and I had to install and uninstall the curtain to understand the flaw and take it back. It is more his attitude that bothers me as he had no apology and when I gave him a second chance to work on another curtain, he promised a date that he could not keep which caused a lot of issues for my installation schedule, and again his attitude was whatever, I will call you when it's ready even though he had promised a date. I took the curtains to another place that did a great job at even lower price. Definitely customer service is missing here and all he cares about is his business and not how he messes up your wallet and time. I won't be back. read more

Over the last few years I've had Le's do several repairs and several alterations to my shirts and trousers, and some of my performance costumes. Nothing major. I have always found their repairs to be very fast, unexpectedly low in cost, and well executed. I've noticed, for example, that if extra fabric is needed then it always gets sealed around the edges (is that called "blanket stitch"?), patches are invisible, sewing has never yet come undone. Had a previous bad experience with them, but didn't listen to my instinct and went back again. BIG mistake. I took my son to have his suit pants adjusted. It was an easy waist take in and hem the cuffs. They marked up the adjustments and told us to go back in a few days for the pick up. A few days later, we went back for the pick up, I am so glad I brought my son to try on the pants because It was SO tight, he could barely button it and not able to sit down. The Le's staff kept on telling us it was fine...which obviously wasn't the case. I had to insist for them to redo the waist adjustment. They weren't happy about it and told us to return in 10-15 minutes. We waited and went back again. When my son tried on the paints again, the waistline was let out to almost similar to pre-alteration. It literally falls off unless my son holds onto the pants. They told us my son's waist is narrower than his hip...which isn't everyone's waist?!? My son is a fit 14 year old, super lean and has a six pack. So there is really no reason they can't properly adjust a pair of pants to fit him. The Le'a staff was rude and just ignored us. They basically refused to make any correction on their mistake. Very unfortunate. This was such a bad customer service experience, which mirrored what I had experienced before. I tried to support their business, but never again. read more

Worst expressive ever for a hem job for one pair of pants. I had to take them back 4 times. The first time I picked them up they were a little longer than I wanted, but the left leg was about an inch longer than the right. I took them back and they adjusted both legs but the left leg was still about an inch longer than the right. So I took them back again. They're sort of even now but instead of hemming them above the fancy trim like they had done the first two times, they hemmed the left leg from the bottom. So even though they are almost even now, the pants look ridiculous because the trim doesn't match at all. I went back again and they denied hemming from the bottom even though it's so obvious because the trim doesn't match any more and the bottom hem is not pressed, nor can it be due to the terrible, rushed looking sewing. They were nice enough to refund my money but now I don't know if I will even wear the pants because they look so bad. I'm very disappointed and will not go back there. read more

Came here to get a bridesmaid gown altered after some neighborhood recommendations. Their service is quick! I tried on the dress in store where they pinned and marked the alterations. Got a receipt and was told it would be ready in 2 days (much quicker than I was expecting). $45 to take in the dress a couple inches from the back (which had a zipper). I thought Le's Alterations did a fantastic job tailoring my Black Widow and my hubby's Captain America costumes. We bought the customized Marvel costumes online but they were way too big on us. We took our costumes here and the ladies were able to get them back to us within a couple of weeks. Our costumes were quite intricate since they had a lot of leather pieces. Reasonable prices but don't expect good customer service here. We had several shirts altered and dresses hemmed. When I dropped off the clothing I told the lady we needed the remnants from the 2 dresses. She said okay and wrote something on the ticket. I couldn't read what it said and had assumed it was in Vietnamese. Picked up the altered clothing today. No remnants! The lady said I didn't tell her. I reminded her that I specifically told her and pointed to what she wrote down on the ticket. No response! She looked at me then at a fellow employee who was standing behind me. She turned around and nonchalantly looked at the scrap material box and said they didn't have it. No apologies, no discount and was made to feel as though it was my fault. Their tailoring work is okay for basic alternations but not for clothing that needs more advanced tailoring skills. Some reviewers wrote that the employees were really friendly. Le broke my heart. I used him/his team for over a decade. When I brought him my wedding dress over two months before the day needed he confirmed it was plenty of time. I called three weeks before the event to ask status and was told it would be ready a week before. A week before I called him and he said a couple days. A couple days before I went in and demanded my dress. He had one of his people roll the side of it and run it through the machine essentially ruining the bodice. What disturbs me the most is that he yelled at me and claimed I was trying to get out of paying. Fast and reasonable prices - have used them for years and years. Prices have gone up (honestly, they charged too little before) - but it's in line with what is expected for the area. Just dropped off some lululemon joggers and paid $25 for the waist to be taken in - they look perfect, no bunching, you cannot tell they've been altered. The lady who takes your measurements is very direct - no, you don't need them shortened, just the waist...no that can't be altered, that's your body. Came here to tailor a couple of blazers and some pants. Excellent service! They got me measured quickly and asked if what they had in mind was what I wanted. It is a bit pricey to be honest, at $55/blazer and $35/pants. They charged me this regardless of the complexity of the alteration. I used to take things here for repair and the service was rude but efficient. Now they're just rude and they ruin your clothes. If you have anything vintage or anything you value do NOT take it here. The woman who initially took in my items had me mark them with tailors chalk, which I was trying to be careful with-she snatched it away and made HUGE x's on my vintage clothes. I can see a visible X of chalk on my velvet dress sleeve. She ripped up the collar of a 1910s coat very violently in front of me as there were 2 tears at the neckline. When my items were supposed to be ready, I called first and was told that this same garment she manhandled had torn more and was "too hard" to repair. I said well I don't mind paying for you to patch it, that is why I brought it in to you guys. So today I go to pick everything up and (see my prior reviews of another repair service) thought I had better check everything to see if it was OK. I had already handed over my 50 bucks cash for the 4 items when I saw that another garment that was to be repaired at the neckline now had one sleeve that was no longer attached. I was like what the hell??? Then they had the nerve to argue with me...I said you can clearly see that the sleeve is off of one side and it was not like this when I brought it in. The owner made one of the ladies fix it while I waited but I could tell she was pissed off and arguing back. Then I saw the "patching" that was done on the antique coat. It looked like the spike on a lie detector test when someone lies-very visible and very exaggerated. The material used to patch was the cheapest you could possibly find if you were trying hard to find the shittiest material. See photo. I asked them if they would wear something that looked like this and it was shrugged off and I was told this fabric was "horrible" to repair and they spent a lot of time on it. Honestly I don't know if I'm cursed or what but I would never take anything back here for alteration, repair, etc ever again with the bad attitudes and crappy workmanship served with a scowl. Called in beforehand asking how much they charge for hemming jeans and was quoted $10 by the gentleman answering the phone. Went in to the shop where a lady took in my jeans. I didn't pay notice to the fact that she didn't verbally mention the cost. I of course assumed it would be $10. Two days later I go back to the shop to pick up my jeans. Lady says the cost is $15. I mention that I was quoted $10 on the phone by the gentleman. She says it costs $15 because the hem on the jeans are "wide". The hem on my jeans are 8". In what world is an 8" hem wide? I like to support local businesses and leave good reviews but please for the love of god don't make up nonsense excuses when asked about an overcharge. A simple, yes, we will honor the quote we gave you on the phone, sorry for the mistake and I would have taken all my future tailoring needs here. Instead, here I am writing a bad review and will not be going back there again. The stitching itself on the hem was not excellent but good enough. read more
