I meant to post this the first time I went, but absolutely have to now!…read more The first time I went I hadn't been to a tailor since I was a kid and was a bit nervous about what to expect as I don't think I always know what "well-tailored" looks like and I'm not the most fashionably knowledgable person to say the least. I was immediately greeted by Ali who treated me kindly, professionally, and guided me through the process with the immense range of clothes I brought from pea coats to jeans to suede jackets. Everything he did was fantastic and looks like it was hand-crafted for me. All prices were more than reasonable and I got all sorts of new things to wear. I should have posted a review then but I absolutely had to after my latest. On Tuesday, I tried on a dress I was intending to wear at a wedding that I leave for on Thursday and noticed to my dismay it did not fit how I wanted and was too low-cut. I immediately ran over in a complete panic to see if it was even possible to fix in... one day. It's a silk/satin fabric with a unique cut so I wasn't optimistic. Ali took it in stride and finished it IN ONE NIGHT. He did an incredible job, was super respectful and considerate when trying to figure out what adjustments to make, and I'm so grateful! I am not well versed in alterations but I appreciated how she customized the approach for each pair of pants - for my wide leg jeans she brought it in along the waistline, and for my navy barrel leg she took the seat in in a couple areas using complementary thread colors. I thought these touches were a step above what I've gotten from other tailors and I will continue to go to Diana for my alterations. My jeans were Madewell brand so nothing too fancy, but I spotted some nice designer brands from other clients on the rack so I feel even better about bringing investment pieces here in the future.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that using black cups on white material means it can show easily through the dress. 4 stitches means those stitches can get undone easily, things can get caught underneath, and it can tear far too easily. I paid $45 for shoddy work and didn't feel like getting charged more. I cannot recommend this place because the quality of work is simply too low to justify paying for it. The only good thing about this place: They are responsive over the phone. Parking isn't too hard to find but it is a little hidden so keep that in mind. I brought it back to show them and instead of apologizing, they shifted blamed me for not trying it on. First of all if you look at the picture , you can see how uneven the fabric is. Secondly, they are the experts, if they think that they can't cut it evenly without me trying it on, they should have told me, instead of blaming me. Their solution was to cut some more fabric to even it out. The dress is ruined and I don't want it to be even shorter. In my picture, look at the measure tape where one side was an inch. And the other side is longer. Therefore, do not bring your alterations here. My event is this week, and I can do anything about the dress looking like this. I am very upset!

I made an appointment with her 2 months out from the wedding and didn't know what to expect. The moment I got there I could tell I was in good hands. Nur was very detailed in how she broken down every part of the dress that didn't fit quite right. I needed the whole corset to be resized. The bust was 2-3 sizes too big, the waist needed another few inches off, the length needed shortened and I needed the bustle put in. In our first appointment she showed me 4 different bustle styles and told me to decide by our next appointment. Immediately after our first appointment, she booked me for my 2nd and 3rd try on immediately to make sure that she could get the dress to me with at least 1 week before when I needed it. She also timed the try ons for the same time of my menstrual cycle of my wedding ~honestly genius. I was so impressed with her work at the end. She really brought the dress to life with how it fit me. If you need your wedding dress altered, look no farther!

For special items, this is the place to be. I brought a silk dress that needed to be hemmed and the bust adjusted. I regret not remembering the lady who helped me but she was very friendly, gave me her expert recommendation, had a little chat and she sent me away. I did ask for a quote before I left and I felt it was reasonable given the delicate material and significant adjustments. I appreciated having a private room to myself and seamstress. I noticed they had shoes available of varying heights to simulate what it might look like alog with hair clips etc. Theres a platform they have you stand on so they can be at eye level to the hem if needed without crouching too low. These ladies/ folks are the real deal. Pro tip: there is parking available for customers past their shop in case street parking is complicated.
