I show up a few minutes before they close and the woman behind the counter, runs up and locks the door as I approach and then waves me away, and I just wanted to pick stuff up. Great place with professional service. I was going to get my suit tailored for my sister's wedding, but wanted a professional opinion on the fit first. Michael was very attentive and most importantly, honest. We shortened the pants but decided against the suit jacket as it would be costly for such a minor alteration (about 1 inch). He said he was more than happy to do it but wanted to let me think it over since whether he took 1 or 2 inches off, it would cost me the same because he had to remove the lining. The manager (Michael) answered my questions about turnaround time (usually 2-3 days), using the 15% off Yelp check-in deal (score!), their VIP programs, and how to find their location (on Church and Castro across from Wells Fargo Bank on the backside of 650 with plentiful free parking). Upon arrival I saw they are a Green Business Bureau platinum business with 3 levels of VIP services. They have a bunch of perks to membership including 10-25% off, a free laundry bag, door hook, free pick up and drop off, texting drop off and pick up at your house. I dropped off a bunch of sweaters about a week before Labor Day; I needed them back by the end of Labor Day weekend because I was leaving town Tuesday morning to spend four months in a colder climate. I was told to pick up the clothes on Saturday of Labor Day weekend, but when I arrived that morning they were closed for the whole weekend(!). I was pretty sure I wouldn't see those sweaters again until January. However, I called the phone number, and to my great surprise the manager (Michael) texted back right away, and he made all the arrangements to correct the situation. I was able to pick up the cleaning later that afternoon. I greatly appreciate his responsiveness, as well as the time and effort of the employee who came in on his day off. Since I purchased the Platinum package plan, I took other clothes to their service and I'm very happy with their professional and warm customer services. Especially, their free pick up & drop off service is amazing! I relocated to SF right before the pandemic started and because of that, I was no longer able to use their service. I still had a credit, so I contacted the owner Michael asking for a refund for my remaining credit. He responded quickly and said he will mail me a check but I haven't heard back from him during the lockdown which is completely understandable. I had a short puffy coat and a dress that I had to wash with care. I decided to entrust my items to clean with them and it was delivered back to me on time as good as new. Discounts for prepaid accounts are wonderful and they credit you back a percentage of your services every quarter. I am a snob when it comes to cleaning quality and I have not had any issues. I was nervous about leaving my clothes out (hook provided) but Michael explained that thieves are looking for things they can easily sell and worn clothes are not one of those things. Absolutely DON'T USE AXESS Cleaners - they'll charge you $250 *totally unauthorized*, and claim it's a "refill" you never authorized - and they never told you about. I tried to use them and last year - the second time I used them - I found a $250 charge from them on my credit card bill (not the cost of my dry cleaning) that I absolutely did NOT authorize. They never told me they charged this either. I didn't sign anything authorizing this. When I confronted them they claimed it was my "account refill" - which goes *directly* against what their brochure they gave me said (pic attached). I got into an epic battle with them and their owner Michael was ridiculously rude to me - both on the phone and over text. Filed a dispute with my credit card company and let them handle the battle with AXESS. Finally managed to get my money back. Who just throws a $250 charge on someone's credit card without 1. Telling them about it, and 2. Getting authorization? (Not verbal authorization, not a signature, anything!!) Totally fraudulent company!! Run, don't walk, FAR away from Axess Cleaners. Eventually I set my mind on Preservation which includes the cleaning and full certification that comes in a beautiful box. The whole process, like it has always been with my dry cleaning and laundry services was seamless and hassle free. To top it off, their price was less than most places I called. $249 and because I am a Platinum Level customer with their Dry cleaning services I got an additional 10% discount on the Preservation.
