Quality job, great service, and they know you by name when you walk in or even when you call. Charlie Yi the owner is a great guy. He has had the same team in place since I started going here nine years ago. They are all hard workers and take pride in what they do. Before I found Bluebirds I bounced around from place to place trying to find the least expensive service I could find. Then I had a $200 shirt ruined at one place left found another place and they ruined a $3000 suit. Needless to say I learned the lesson that if you care about your clothes enough to get them dry cleaned then you should be using someone that does the good job. Blue Bird does a great job and they have not made one mistake in nine years. I drop off clothes bi-monthly so it is quite impressive. Never a broken button, burned white shirt, or a color fade. They are not the cheapest but they are they best. Blue Bird isn't just a dry cleaner either. They also offer full service tailoring and have a changing room available. Charlie does the tailoring personally and he has a great eye for what he does. I have had him adjust my inseams, waistline, pant length, etc. Even if you are in a pinch and need it done in a day Charlie will try and accommodate and usually can have it done when you need it. They are located in a great spot right next to door to CVS and block buster. This makes it easy to knockout three things with one stop. Pick up prescriptions grab a movie for the wife, and drop of your clothes all in the same shopping center. Or if you feel like a coffee there is a Starbucks there as well. They lost a pair of men's slacks. They changed the ticket and lied to me. I had been using them frequently, but I will not go back.

The lady working there (old, grey long hair, Indian-looking) was terrible. She 1) didn't hang up the phone while the customer was there, and 2) because she was on her phone, she didn't listen to what I clearly said -- "debit" card. I also asked to cancel the charges and redo it because she added a credit card fee to my charge. She refused to do so. It was like 1second after I noticed the difference.Finally, 4) she didn't say she was sorry or admit her fault because she was still on her phone. I feel terribly sorry for the guy who runs this place, as this never would have happened if he were there. I will never come back to this place again, ever. read more

I've been bringing my cleaning to Blue Bird for six years now. Even now, when I rarely have reason to travel to Mountain View for my job, I still take all my cleaning to Blue Bird. They use environmentally friendly cleaning fluids which was the main reason I started using them in the first place. They show great attention to detail. They have my cleaning ready for me at the time promised. The same folks have been working there for years and they know me when I walk through the door. Having said that, they aren't inexpensive. They simply charge more than any other place I've used but I'm willing to pay for quality. I pay a lot for my clothes and they insure my investments will be around for me to enjoy. A nice little cleaners. They worked extra hard on my suit that had some nasty little stains on it, tip of the day don't eat pasta with red sauce and hold a baby. They have a small changing room to help out with alterations and their times are great for a turn around on a pair of pants. Prices seem fair. What is my favorite part is they are organized, no lost shirts or extra long wait time while they eyeball your tux to come down the line. read more

Last year I spilled red wine on a brand new pair of light pink shorts. I tried to get the stain out myself and then brought them in. I had no hope of getting them clean. I went to pick up on the appointed day and the staff told me they weren't ready, they were trying something else to get the stain out. When I came in the next time my shorts were perfect and no sign of the stain! They go above and beyond to get things right! These guys are great. They have had the same staff for at least 10 years that I have been using them. They are not the cheapest but I know I will get quality cleaning here. Alterations are more expensive than you can get in other places. I am super chemically sensitive and can smell chemicals a mile away. They use natural organic cleaning methods and your clothes smell really fresh and clean when you pick them up. read more

Today I took in a shirt for dry cleaning and a pair of cheap pajama pants to hem (with the hem length already pinned). She said the hem would cost $15 and the dry cleaning $5.75 and I wouldn't get them back until Saturday (four days away). I let them do the dry cleaning, but I took the pants to Le's Alterations down the street. Le's charges less than half the price ($6) and promises to have it done tomorrow (Wednesday) rather than Saturday. read more

I brought in two pairs of suit pants the week prior for cleaning to Blue Bird Cleaners for the first time. My first experience: the attendant greeted me and was polite. She had asked if this was the first time to their facility and I indicated it was. She promised the pants would be ready in the late afternoon the following week on the day I indicated when she asked when I would like to pick them up. I came in early the morning of the day of pick-up to see if the pants were read since I was nearby. They were ready, we completed the transaction and off I went. Overpriced and horrendous customer service. I live locally and was looking for a new dry cleaners. The shopping center at El Monte is a convenient location for me, and I spotted the cleaners one day and thought to try them. My first and LAST time using this place - I would not even give them one star for the rating. First off, their prices are high. And second, from my only experience their customer service is horrible. Never had an experience such as this one at a dry cleaners: I had brought in 2 pieces to dry clean: a blazer and a long sweater dress (i.e. knitted dress). I specifically asked how much it would cost to clean both pieces before services provided. They quoted me a price, even though I considered it high, but I thought I would give them a chance. When I went to go pick up my clothing, the total came out to more than I had mentally calculated, but the employee swiped my car before I could say something. Once the transaction was completed and I took a look at the receipt for how much each piece was priced, and I noticed they had charged me more than I was initially quoted. I was charged three dollars more for the sweater dress. The employee had already quickly walked away, without even a "Have a good day," so I called her back asking for the initial printout. I confirmed they had indeed charged me three dollars more. When this was brought up, she simply told me because the sweater dress was considered a "dress" and not a "sweater," it would cost more. I tried to explain to her that it was her job to provide me with a proper estimate on what type of garment they would differentiate between a sweater and a dress, and that's when an older gentleman employee became involved. The woman who was initially assisting me walked away as if the matter had been settled, which left the matter to the gentleman. He kept trying to explain to me that the item in question was indeed a dress, not a sweater, stating things such as, "You consider this a sweater?" Well, yes, I do consider it a sweater dress - I know what I am talking about, I work in the fashion industry. While I understand the point the gentleman was trying to make, but I tried to explain it was their job to determine what the item is as per their costs for the services they render, not mine. The employee to whom I handed the items to when they were brought in should have made that differentiation. The older gentleman insinuated the blame to me that the difference in price was due to me claiming this was a sweater. Regardless of whether the item was a dress or a sweater, the main point I tried to get across was that they quoted me a price but proceeded to charge me three dollars more without notice, walking away from the transaction quickly, and expecting me to have to pay the difference because services had been rendered. If the item had been considered a dress to them and not a sweater, I should have been notified of that when I dropped the item off - when I specifically asked for the price. That type of customer service in my mind is underhanded, sly, devious, and scandalous. The discussion was going no where, the older gentleman argued with me, did not understand or sympathize with my concerns. After a few minutes of the discussion no where and no one recognize my concerns (the gentleman just stood there with a blank stare on his face as if he did not understand what I was saying), he said he would give me 2 dollars back. Two dollars did not cover my costs, and he never ended up actually making a move or actually refunded me the money he promised. All of these traits I consider bad customer service as well - when provided with horrible customer service and I speak up about it, I expect the employee or owner to be sympathetic, to listen, to work with me to solve the problem, to offer something for the troubles, etc. None of this was provided to me. Also, they had placed the "dress" on a hanger. Since the dress is a knit, the hanger stretched out the area around the shoulders (there's a "bulge" from the indentation of the hanger). "Professional" dry cleaners should know not to hang a knit garment but to fold. The dress was also not cleaned properly - all stains, marks are gone, fabric appears clean, but upon closer inspection (smelling the garment) it still smells as if it had been worn yesterday (i.e. perfume, a little bit of b.o.). This experience was a disappointment not only in the sense of the money and troubles this business caused, but I am a big supporter of local businesses. I love to help family own/run or small businesses, but because of the bad customer service and underhanded manner in which they try to get as much money from customers as possible, I will never visit this place again and have deterred friends/family members from doing so as well. read more
