I've been wanting to try this place out for some time, so finally got around to it on a Friday night around 7pm. Positives: 1. Fast and friendly service, there was some confusion with them handing our food to another table, and vice-versa, but it was straightened out pretty quickly. 2. Nice selection of vegetarian options 3. Lemongrass tofu was pretty good! 4+ stars 4. Plenty of parking Negatives: 1. Extremely expensive for vietnamese food. It was $40 for two ($7-8 spring rolls, woah!) 2. Average vietnamese soup atmosphere in a dumpy strip mall. Would expect more for the price 3. Never came back to the table after serving us, ie, ran out of water, had to ask for the rest of my friend's water.... 4. Bún tht nng bò, the meat was little bland sausages, they tasted stale, almost rotten 5. Not enough dressing/fish sauce, potent stuff, yes, but clearly not enough for the salad 6. Friend was complaining of stomach cramps that night after here I really wanted to like this place, but it came up short in too many areas to warrant a return. read more

This is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants that I've been to in a long time! They serve American style breakfast food here until noon still such as pancakes, waffles, bacon, etc...The owner, Hong is very nice and he cares about his customers. All the food is fresh, delicious, and healthy. They only use the best and freshest meat. The chicken they use is free range and hormone free. Only real seafood is used in their seafood Pho and you get plenty of meat in it. The pork vermicelli here is the BEST that I've ever had anywhere! The portion is large and the pork is cooked perfectly! I like the pork so much that even though the portion is already good, I always order extra pork on the side for only $2.00 more. This place is clean and casual and nicely decorated with orchids and other tasteful decor. There are lots of traditional Vietnamese dishes on the menu as well as curry that isn't usually found on the menu at most places. The owners wife and sister works here so this really is a family business. This place is located in the corner of the CVS shopping center. There is plenty of parking in the area. First off, I have worked in fine dining restaurants for 10 years. Now, this place has it all, an owner who cares, cleanliness, great service, and great food. Forget people who over analyze everything, this place is awesome, the owner is always there, super friendly and cares about his customers. Niners won and are heading to the Superbowl, he decided to give everyone in the restaurant some Remy, on the house, out of his genuine kindness. The food is delicious, their hot wings, believe it of not, are amazing!! Pho is consistent and delicious, always hits the spot. My friend and I were in the mood for something light, and we decided we wanted pho. We were in Campbell, so we decided to check out LeQuy, since it was close by. There were a bunch of people in the restaurant. We were seated immediately. My friend ordered #40 the beef spicy lemongrass pho and I ordered #45 which is chicken pho but with veggies and tofu instead (no chicken meat). We also ordered the avocado spring rolls to share. All over the menu, they boast that they don't use MSG. I felt like this made the broth a lot more lighter, but my friend thought it made the noodle dish less flavorful. I don't really drink the broth in noodle soups so it didn't make a huge difference to me. There was a lot of noodles and a lot of tofu and a lot of veggies, which was great. The food was really tasty! The spring rolls were good too - using avocado instead of meat or tofu gave the springs an interesting texture. And the peanut sauce it came with was yummy. I would totally come back here to get #45 again. Service was fine - our waters were constantly refilled, but it's not super friendly, just typical of most Asian places. We were looking for good pho and I was really in high hopes to get it at this restaurant! I am sorry to say this, and I don't often write bad reviews, but I can't come back here again and cannot recommend this place for two reasons: 1. After a 15 minute wait to be seated, we ordered immediately and then had to wait 25 MINUTES just for 2 bowls of pho (we even had identical orders! How hard can it be?) That's 50 minutes total of waiting, just for pho. Not worth it. 2. Upset stomach/diarrhea for both me and my bf about an hour after finishing our identical pho's. We ordered a very normal order - beef pho with steak, brisket, and meatballs. I've never had pho upset my stomach like this before. The only reason why this place doesn't get 1 star only is because the pho actually tasted pretty good. Too bad everything else went badly. read more

Wow. I don't think my expectations were high. I mean, it IS pho in campbell. But there really weren't any redeeming qualities to the meal here. FOOD: The broth tasted so light, it was almost flavorless. The chicken was thigh meat, which would've made it difficult to be overcooked, but somehow it was. The spring roll had nothing in it but shrimp and vermicelli and the dipping sauce was one note. I really could've made this myself at home. PRICE: $8.50 for pho ga (chicken noodle soup) is not only high, but for the portion, it is equiv to a small bowl at other restaurants at an extra large bowl price. I was drawn to this place after a friend told me they make their broth and everything else from scratch. Yay for them! They also serve free-range chicken, and don't use MSG. It looks like they took over from what was previously a diner. Clean and comfortable, nothing luxurious. And, the staff is friendly and attentive. I also appreciate the fact that they mark which menu items are gluten-free. We got the beef pho, #29 special noodle dish and fried shrimp dumplings (not gluten-free). My daughter likes fried finger foods, so the shrimp dumplings were perfect. And the chicken broth that came with the #29 was the adults' favorite. I would have liked to try the fresh spring rolls, but we just made a huge batch at home a couple days before. Overall, the food was tasty and fresh. No complaints about any part of our experience here. Just can't give it 5 stars though, because there was nothing that stood out as to-die-for. I'd definitely go back though! In my opinion, this one will Stand. And let me tell you why.. For those who have had the opportunity to visit here recently, the menu and decor on the surface all appear to be pretty standard. Ive had to opportunity to speak with the owner. (a midlife asian man with an unforgettable Passion for this business) His passion to thrive is very apparent to me as he disusses his business plan. He tells me that this first month or so, he plans on talking to all of his customers and taking into account all suggestions. (he even reads these yelp reviews) He has seen suggestions regarding dishes, flavors and food allergy alternatives. He plans to continously update the menu untill it compliments the demands of his customers. LeQuy is already serving Gluten-Free meals and is in the works to implementing Brown Rice. The take home summary of my review is that this will be a restaurant that is passionate about learning what the community thinks and is looking for. We should continue to support restaurants such as this one. It doesnt feel like your typical cookie cutter restaurant business model. It FEELS like people who are passionate about having a good restaurant. I reccomend the Red Curry. (it comes out yellow, but only because he Hand Makes the curry himself, no food coloring!!! I have had some good Pho at a location in Willow Glen, but I think I have found my favorite place for Pho in the Bay Area! i received Pho Ga and let me tell you about the amount of chicken they put in my to-go container. Normally I received so much of the noodles that it's too much to go with the broth and the meat. Also I liked how moist the chicken was still! I've been here a few times, as its sometimes the closest Vietnamese restaurant near me. The staff is nice, but the food and prices could be better. Came here with my mother and aunt who now lives in Louisiana and was craving some pho! Since we were in Campbell we googled the closest pho spot and decided on this place based on the reviews. HOW does this place have such great reviews? Everything I had was either extremely weird tasting or old and flavorless. My mother and I both ordered the number 34 pho thai- the broth was so disgusting, I wish I knew what spice they used to season their broth but it's horrific. Not even the sriracha helped. The overwhelming flavor (mostly can be described as a bitter pungent taste) make the soup basically inedible. Pho Thai should have a rich delicious beef broth, cmon! Also the meat in the soup was not served raw like any other Vietnamese restaurant where the steak is piled on top of your noodles with the red flesh still visible, then you work your magic and mix in your delicious meat until it's cooked. Not to mention I counted FIVE tiny pieces of meat in both of our bowls. Complete failure. My aunt ordered pho ga with white breast meat (chicken) basically the whole bowl was noodles with about 5 pieces of meat as well. The both same, butter and pungent. Traditional spring rolls were clearly made the day prior - not fresh and the herbs inside had NO flavor. Peanut sauce was completely watered down and really didn't even taste like peanuts. Who knows wtf that sauce actually is. My best advice is if you're looking for real traditional pho steer clear of this place. The pho is disgusting. Sucks to have to drive all the way to the east side for a delicious bowl of soup, but trust me you would rather do that then to waste your money here with this weird, horrible pho. Lastly, my aunt is leaving back to Louisiana tomorrow morning and was so bummed out that she couldn't get her pho fix. We sat at the table for about 30 mins after we were finished eating to finish catching up before she catches her flight in the morning. The two waitresses and whom I expect was the owner kept on staring us down until we ultimately got up from the awkward stares. We paid $60 for DISGUSTING pho (FOR THREE PEOPLE!!!!) the least you could do was have some decency to let your customers sit at a table and converse without your judgmental staring. Since it recently got cold in the last month or so we decided pho was a great choice. We found this place on Yelp and went around 12. It was pretty busy and we had to wait about 10 minutes for a table which is understandable. The food itself was very good. Our table ordered a few different appetizers all of which were good and we even all got our own peanut sauces. The different egg and spring rolls were all flavorful and I would definitely order them again. Our main courses were also very good. Most people got pho, but the vermicelli salad with shrimp was also ordered. Everything I tried had a ton of flavor and the service was very quick. The only issue and the reason I'm giving them 4 instead of 5 stars was the temperature of the room. We were seated in what looked like the room where they have meetings or private parties and there were not too many heating vents or something. The main room was very comfortable but everyone at our table was ordering hot drinks while we waited for our food in order to try and stay warm. We also all continued to wear out jackets since we were all so cold. Would definitely go back, but would not sit in the back room ever again if it was cold outside unless they have somehow fixed the heating to heat the back room as well. read more

Brand spanking new restaurant. Interesting decor since it looks like a converted diner (Iron Skillet before?). At least it's nice and clean! Interesting menu...half vietnamese, half american diner breakfast stuff. Okay, well, I didn't drive all the way here to have breakfast food. Our group had the summer rolls, pho, vermicelli, seafood hu tieu. Summer rolls were pretty standard, but seemed like it needed something more like some cilantro or basil or something. Pho was pretty average. The broth was very mild tasting with a clean flavor (not too fatty, which is nice!). Just felt like it needed more spices, more cilantro, and less water. Glad to hear that there's no MSG tho. Too bad, it just left me with a pretty blah expression by the end. The Vermicelli with BBQ pork was pretty good. Marinade for the pork was a little on the salty side. Noodles were firm and had a little bit of chewiness to it. The seafood hu tieu broth was also clean tasting, but bland. With all the seafood ingredients, the broth should have had a more succulent, fragrant taste. Instead it just tasted like again, it needed more ingredients and less water. For the price at $12.50, could have been better. The manager/owner/server was very nice. Wish they would focus on doing just one thing (don't do a full american breakfast) and boil down their broths a little more. there's some potential here...hope they will find their groove. We have lived in Campbell for 11 years, and there have been numerous restaurants at this same location, none of which have survived (and with just cause). However, it looks like LeQuy is here to stay! I took my family there last night, as I had noticed that there was a new Pho restaurant celebrating their grand opening, and I figured that we'd check it out. The service was fast and friendly. The tea they served was great. We reviewed their menu and they had a very wide selection from which to choose. I love Pho, but I am eating low-carb, thus i requested their Beef Combination without noodles, and they offered to put-in an assortment of fresh vegetables and tofu instead . . . it was fabulous. My wife also ordered the Beef combination (standard), and my kids split a Chicken Pho (the QTY was perfect for two kids to split). The flavors of both the beef and chicken broth were great, and they provided plenty of basil, lime, jalapenos, and bean sprouts. The prices were reasonable as well. Also, we have some friends who have Gluten allergies, and I noted that their menu specified which dishes are Gluten-Free - we called our friends from the restaurant to tell them about this, and they went there last night as well and told us that this is their new favorite Pho house in the area. On our way out, we met the owner - Hong - and he was very polite and appreciative of our visiting his establishment. It is a family-owned operation, and they seem to really care about making sure the customer is pleased with their meal. Located on the corner of San Tomas Plaza (D&J Hobby lot), this place is now home to a family-run restaurant serving home-made Vietnamese food. They offer a sizable breakfast menu; though the owner expects to skinny down the breakfast items as he adds more Vietnamese dishes. Had lunch here the first time a few weeks after their grand opening and immediately became a fan. See the owner's face light up when describing how he grinds up galanga to add to the fresh curry paste. You will not go wrong with any dish that has curry in it. Best fried rice I have ever tasted with a hint of that fresh curry. They also offer Pho, a Vietnamese staple food. My husband always orders Pho Bo Vien when he goes to a Pho house, but he eventually stopped since the meatballs served were consistently fatty. He gave it a shot here and was not disappointed. The meatballs (home-made) were nice and lean; the best he has ever tasted. I typically don't order Pho for my toddler since the broth is normally too salty at the Pho houses, but here I had no problem. I ordered the lean meat and had them add steamed broccoli (generous portion). The Shrimp Egg Rolls were super yummy, perfectly deep fried with a thin and crispy shell and a whole shrimp inside. The Grilled Pork Vermicelli was very satisfying with abundant and flavorful meat that was thin and perfectly grilled and a good amount of vermicelli. The Spring Rolls were fresh and had a perfectly-flavored peanut dipping sauce; although the rice paper could have been slightly more moistened. The Seafood Noodle Soup had really fresh seafood (owner gets his seafood from the same supplier as Lunardi's); although the broth could use a bit more flavor but you can always add plum sauce and sriracha. I was surprised to see Tofu Tomato on their menu as this is a very traditional dish that a VN mom would cook for her family. I can come back for their fried rice alone, but I will be certain to try some of their other dishes. Prices are higher compared to VN restaurants in the east side, but you get what you pay. They offer good quality beef, free range chicken and very fresh-tasting seafood. They use no MSG and has good vegetarian and gluten-free options. The owner of this restaurant takes pride in the quality of food and making his food from scratch using fresh ingredients. You can also find him working the restaurant along with his very friendly and attentive staff. Aside from being the only Vietnamese restaurant in Campbell, you will get a good meal here with friendly service. Apparently they still do breakfast.. okay sure xD The service was so so, the waiter kept passing us since they sat us near the back corner. It also took awhile to get the bill... I went here with one other friend and we both got the Combination Seafood Noodle Soup and shared an order of Traditional Spring Rolls, which are decent, Ive had better. Combination Seafood Noodle Soup was almost 13 bucks. SO NOT WORTH IT. you can pick out of clear, rice, and egg noodle. I got the egg and my friend go the rice.The noodles are okay. I think we only got 1 jumbo prawn in the soup even though it had in plural on the menu.It also has Alaskan snow crab claw, sea bass, and wild caught squid. My friend didn't care for the squid OR the fish, she kept putting it in my bowl.. I think it was just okay and the Broth is very savory, had to put more hoisin sauce and sirachi sauce. Came in recently for lunch and was blown away by the menu and how awesome they are accommodating food allergies, especially Gluten. If you're looking for a place to eat delicious Gluten-free Vietnamese cuisine, this is the place to be. We started off with LeQuy's Special chicken wings, and yeah they are definitely special. I have never had any GF wing as delicious as these. Way better than any wing joint around, they were perfectly crispy and full of flavor. Both my girlfriend and I ordered the Beef combo noodle soup with spicy broth and loved it. It was the perfect amount of heat for me, and everything was super fresh, and at the end I was thoroughly full and content with my meal Will DEFINITELY come back for the wings and pho! read more

The final product, was not! I ordered the Pho, and Egg Rolls = $15.08 My girlfriend got the French Toast Supreme = $10.15ish? The rents ordered a Pho, and some rice/meat dish = No clue... :p Service was alright. Decor was a diner type. The biggest issue, was the food! Ha, sort of disappointing, because the place just opened on Wednesday! You would expect high standards, right? I have got to say though, my Pho was alright. Have had better... I always come here for my regular spicy broth pho w/ everything in it. Even though I am on a paleo diet, this is my cheat food and only because it's so good here. I am happy to know that the establishment uses high-quality ingredients and there is no MSG. I love the fact they are educated about their clients' different diets, so they actually have icons on their menu for vegan or gluten-free options. We always have the best customer service here, especially since we're regulars, and the staff knows my fiancee and my regular orders. There is a new GEM in our neighborhood. For years, I'd been kvetching why there were no pho houses in the Campbell area, and here's a great one that we can walk to! I hope this restaurant doesn't meet the fate of the handful other restaurants that have occupied the space before. The pho broth has that extra depth/dimension lacking in the chain pho places that we've frequented til now. The meats were ever so thinly sliced and flavorful. Love , love, love. The eggroll needed to be drained a bit before being served piping hot, because a bit of grease ran down our fingers. The flan has that satisfying al dente solidness to it, as opposed to soft custardness. Good quality food at reasonable prices. Maybe I'm spoiled with good Vietnamese in LA, but this place was definitely not great. We started with the fresh spring rolls (ones with shrimp and beef/pork?). They were huge, but I felt like it was very unseasoned, which was kind of the problem with everything we ate. The pho combo wasn't great. The soup base felt old or some flavor was just off. I don't mind meats that aren't traditionally casually consumed (tripe, some sort of cartilage?), but this didn't taste good. Service was pretty good and our waitress was very kind, everything came out really quick. But not sure I'd come back. Yum! I haven't had pho in many years, so I may not be an expert on quality but I thought their pho was delicious. Our whole family loved everything we ordered and my 6-year old daughter wanted to go back the very next night to eat there again. My hubby and I shared the beef combo and @ $7.95 that was a fabulous price for dinner for two adults. I appreciate that they don't have a TV as well... So tired of restaurants with televisions! I've been on the search for a Pho place that has a cozy, relaxing environment and that also serves wine and I finally found it! We received a friendly greeting as soon as we arrived and invited to pick where we would like to sit. I loved the variety of pho items - you can even pick whether you want white or dark chicken in your pho. Everything on the menu is clearly labeled for allergens which is great for those who have to be gluten free (like me). We started with the spring rolls which were really tasty. The pho was perfect, they offer a spicier broth but I got regular so I could add hot sauce to spice it up to my taste. Service was great, our waiter answered all our questions and was very attentive...and the food came fast! Went there with coworkers for a lunch. I ordered pho with tendons and they all ordered clay pots. I recommend clay pots and calamari. but Dont eat pho. Noodles were not cooked and they put MSG. I am allergic to MSG. So when i eat foods with MSG i get migraine headache. I got the headache after 1 hour or so. It was my fault not to check but i never got headaches at other pho places so i am kind of surprised. Service was good and staff was friendly. read more

Bland. Bland. Bland. I've had their Pho before and it was fine (not great, but not awful)... But tonight, we ordered spring rolls and a couple of other dishes, and they were all super bland. I know that they don't use MSG, so that is not what I am talking about. I am talking about *flavors* like lemongrass, basil, mint, etc. The spring rolls were only as good as the dipping sauce, which was okay. The other dishes were really just rice noodles with a taste of protein. We are unlikely to visit again. I may be back for the take away Pho, but probably nothing else. I wanted to post about our experience with visiting LeQuy. We were pleasantly surprised to find this place has a gluten-free/vegan friendly menu. They even have a dedicated fryer for gluten-free items (e.g. fried chicken wings). We were so happy to order fried chicken wings because they were both gluten-free and egg-free! Husband can't have gluten and daughter can't have eggs. It's rare to find restaurants or dishes that everyone can enjoy! However, after my daughter ate one wing, her face turned red. We didn't know what it was but when we asked about what else was fried in the oil, we found out that they might have fried peanuts in the gluten-free fryer! My daughter has peanut allergy so it was an "oh no!!" moment. The lady in the kitchen fries peanuts once a month and changes the oil weekly, but she doesn't remember which fryer she used -- it was whichever one was available. Ugh. My daughter was itchy the rest of the meal but thankfully that was all and not anaphylactic. Later, when they served my husband's gluten-free vermicelli, they added peanuts as garnish. We asked about the peanuts again and they confirmed that they have no idea which fryer the peanuts were fried in. It was possible that they fried the peanuts in the regular fryer with all the gluten items while continuing to serve them with dishes clearly marked gluten-free. Sigh... we were excited about finding this place, but not sure if we will come back again. If you are the restaurant owner reading this review, please train your kitchen staff to be extra careful with cross-contamination, especially when you put gluten-free on the menu! Other than having two family members "poisoned" with allergen, the rest of us did enjoy our food somewhat. The pho broth was delicious, probably one of the best I've had. I really like this restaurant, but I am sad to say that I got food poisoning from ordering one of their sea bass fried rice, one of my favorite dishes here. Unfortunately, this time caused me both throwing up and diarrhea. I hope this serves as a warning to ensure this place properly cleans up and utilizes fresh and safe ingredients, especially seafood. I think during that night, my sea bass was either undercooked (due to being too busy that night) or not fresh, which eventually caused my food poisoning. I have to say the boss, Hong, is very polite and calm when I called to inform him of this incident. His attitude made me change the rating (any food poisoning should at least leave 1-star rating) since it seems that he really cared about his restaurant's reputation and will do better. He promised to check on the fish to ensure freshness and even walked me through on how he cooks his fish to ensure fully cooked. I have been going here regularly for months now. The food is fantastic and the owner and his staff are very friendly and accommodating. I happen to be at the restaurant the day "Richard L." was there..."vomiting". There was nothing wrong with the food. It was packed and at least 20 other people were eating the same thing. R "Richard L." just caused a scene and freaked out my 3 year old son who was begging me to make him stop making such horrible noises. There was no vomit. He's an ass and Le Quy is a wonderful establishment and I will continue to go and recommend it to others! By the way...the chicken wings are delish!!!!! read more

Delicious food. fast service. affordable prices. No frills kind of place but very very good food...pho was great, hot, meaty, full of flavor. The spring rolls were fresh and tasty...lots of herbs. The BBQ chicken vermicelli bowl that I ordered without the vermicelli was sitting on a bed of fresh lettuce and tomatoes and had a ton of flavor. I could really taste the ginger and lemongrass in every bite. and the two of us ate heartily for about $30 including the tip. I will be back. read more

This is a solid family restaurant. They serve classic American breakfast and Vietnamese for lunch & dinner, the hours are 8-9. The waiter appears to be the son and the father is working there too, didn't see who was cooking. Actually, I love family run places because they have more character. I didn't have breakfast so I can't comment but lunch was good. I had BBQ Chicken Salad and it was great. The wife had Pho and she like it but said that my dish was better but she liked her Pho. The father brought out a small iced tea on the house. Not significant but a nice touch. The service was smooth and efficient. Even though they were pretty busy they were happy to see us and greeted us cheerfully. They made you feel right at home. The atmosphere is casual but everything is clean and tidy. I like this place and will definitely be back. It is very close to the house and the food is good. A definite improvement on the previous establishment. read more
