We ordered the avocado spring rolls (2 long rolls; 4 pieces. $8.25, came with peanut sauce), normal fried egg rolls (4 egg rolls for $8.25, came with sweet/sour sauce) and one beef pho and one bun (vermicelli). Had lunch here with family members and the ordered chicken vermicelli and the grilled pork rice dish. The chicken literally tasted like it was refrigerated and just re-heated. The pork had very little flavor as it was only lightly seasoned. Very disappointing. I wanted to like this restaurant and support local businesses in my area but the food really missed the mark. The best phó I've ever had. Perfect spot for lunch or dinner. I've taken almost all my friends here and everyone loves it. My boyfriend gets the combination clay pot and I get the tofu vegetable soup (#45) and then we split the tofu spring rolls. The staff is wonderful and very attentive. I usually only eat in the restaurant during lunch time otherwise I order out to avoid the dinner rush of people and it's still piping hot by the time I get it home. Eating soup when you're sick is a classic move and their phó definitely hits the spot, but what most people don't know is that it is the PERFECT cure for a hangover as well. Tried and true, this is the only thing that will do the next day. As far as I can tell, the lot that this restaurant is in is secretly cursed. Throughout my life I have seen it go through so many different hands -- in my earlier childhood, it was a Sam's BBQ, and I think the longest lasting one I can remember was Stuffed Pizza (possibly spelled as Stuft Pizza -- it's been a while) but -- more recently -- it was the Campbell Skillet. In any case, I try to make a point to visit it whenever it changes, in order to see what direction the newest owners are taking it. I'm not super familiar with Vietnamese food, so I don't know that I can fairly review what I had when I'd gone for dinner (it was Pho. It tasted nice to me, but I am just as likely to eat Pho at Fresh Choice as at a Vietnamese place, so I have no idea what is considered the proper taste for it.) I did, however, go here for breakfast a few months ago, and breakfast foods I feel more qualified to comment on. I ordered a bagel with lox, since I was delighted that it was on the menu (it's one of my favourite breakfast foods, and I was psyched that it was here in the current restaurant's incarnation -- it made me feel like the place was going in a direction that I could get behind. And yes, I did run around like a kid in a candy store when I visited NY a few years ago -- bagel and lox *everywhere*.) The bagel and lox came with the pickled flowerbud things on it (the proper name for them is escaping me right now, sorry -- they show up in a lot of Italian food? Anyway) and -- shallow as it is, I thought the way everything was arranged on the plate was *beautiful*. As for the taste test -- it absolutely passed. I loved it. I made my mom's friend, who was eating with us, also try it -- she'd never had bagel and lox in her life, despite the fact that her husband had adored it, so she was wary, but she really really liked it. (She is actually the reason that this is four out of five stars, though -- while my mom and I both loved what we had, she wasn't as happy with her eggs. I cannot for the life of me remember what her specific complaint was, but I felt that it meant it was more fair to rate it four, given that she wasn't entirely satisfied.) And the fruit? Was amazing. I ended up talking to the people there (who were very polite!) and I recognized the place that they bought their produce from -- Oakmont Produce, which is local and amazing and basically a farmers' market selection in a store. It's reassuring to me when people buy locally -- and the fruit was perfect. (I'm picky when it comes to fruit -- if you serve me something like a chopped up red delicious with squishy grapes and under-ripe melons, I get incredibly cranky.) it was ripe, it didn't have any bad spots -- someone had to have been going through the produce pretty carefully for it. Beef Combination $10.95 It was REALLY GOOD. I come from SF and I have been eating pho or "beef combination" noodles for many years. I have high expectations and LeQuy has met them. The soup was savory with the perfect level of umami-ness. The beef and noodles complements each other and takes your senses to another level. The only set back of the meal was that it is expensive. In SF, good pho is like 6 to 7 dollars. Here it is near 11 dollars. The other thing is the portion is small. Maybe I'm just a glutonist. Or go to Pho Kim Long, near the great mall, their pho is delicious and it is $8 to 9 dollars. Don't be hesitant to go try LeQuy out. There are a lot of white people in there and you may question the quality of the food. But, it's a vietnamese old lady that's behind the scene, in the kitchen, making your food; and the food is delicious. read more

Fast and friendly service, there was some confusion with them handing our food to another table, and vice-versa, but it was straightened out pretty quickly. 2. Nice selection of vegetarian options 3. Lemongrass tofu was pretty good! 4+ stars 4. Plenty of parking Negatives: 1. Extremely expensive for vietnamese food. It was $40 for two ($7-8 spring rolls, woah!) 2. Average vietnamese soup atmosphere in a dumpy strip mall. Would expect more for the price 3. Never came back to the table after serving us, ie, ran out of water, had to ask for the rest of my friend's water.... 4. Bún tht nng bò, the meat was little bland sausages, they tasted stale, almost rotten 5. Not enough dressing/fish sauce, potent stuff, yes, but clearly not enough for the salad 6. With beef that tastes like mothballs, EWW. Broth was disgusting to say the least. I grew up in the Bay Area and have been to all the pho and Vietnamese places around the area as well as east sj. This is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants that I've been to in a long time! They serve American style breakfast food here until noon still such as pancakes, waffles, bacon, etc...The owner, Hong is very nice and he cares about his customers. All the food is fresh, delicious, and healthy. They only use the best and freshest meat. The chicken they use is free range and hormone free. Only real seafood is used in their seafood Pho and you get plenty of meat in it. The pork vermicelli here is the BEST that I've ever had anywhere! The portion is large and the pork is cooked perfectly! I like the pork so much that even though the portion is already good, I always order extra pork on the side for only $2.00 more. This place is clean and casual and nicely decorated with orchids and other tasteful decor. There are lots of traditional Vietnamese dishes on the menu as well as curry that isn't usually found on the menu at most places. My main pho place to go when I'm feeling some pho in the mid mornings! I love how this place is always really clean. Some pho restaurants are pretty janky.. if you know what I mean. Also the hoisin and sriracha bottles tips are CLEAN. YAS I typically just get the beef pho and its good. Not GREAT, but its good. Prices are a little bit more compared to other places, but it is more comfortable to sit and enjoy your food. I got the bun bo once, and it was mediocre. Definitely get the pho here. I also appreciate the TV in here so I can watch sports while I eat. Service is excellent here too! And food comes out fast so that is another plus. read more

This review is based off of door dash delivery pho. I make that disclaimer because pho is alway at its best fresh in the restaurant. However, the basic flavors remain and this beef pho tasted very similar to the carton of pho broth you can buy at Whole Foods. It's as if the flavoring packet they decided to use way way too concentrated and had no true flavor of bone broth. I shall continue my search for a local delivery place that has decent broth because sometimes on Sunday you need to lie on the couch and get delivery pho. Forget people who over analyze everything, this place is awesome, the owner is always there, super friendly and cares about his customers. Niners won and are heading to the Superbowl, he decided to give everyone in the restaurant some Remy, on the house, out of his genuine kindness. The food is delicious, their hot wings, believe it of not, are amazing!! Pho is consistent and delicious, always hits the spot. This is my go to pho place since my job location moved to this area. I am pretty consistent in getting my number 34 with extra lemons. I sometimes switch it up and get the vermicelli salad with pork, or chicken, or eggrolls. Also another delicious dish. They have fresh spring rolls, which I have tried. I don't get often, because of the price. I only spring for those when I really want to go all out. The service is friendly and I am usually seated quickly unless its packed which does happen depending on the time of day. My friend and I were in the mood for something light, and we decided we wanted pho. We were in Campbell, so we decided to check out LeQuy, since it was close by. There were a bunch of people in the restaurant. We were seated immediately. My friend ordered #40 the beef spicy lemongrass pho and I ordered #45 which is chicken pho but with veggies and tofu instead (no chicken meat). We also ordered the avocado spring rolls to share. All over the menu, they boast that they don't use MSG. I felt like this made the broth a lot more lighter, but my friend thought it made the noodle dish less flavorful. I don't really drink the broth in noodle soups so it didn't make a huge difference to me. There was a lot of noodles and a lot of tofu and a lot of veggies, which was great. The food was really tasty! The spring rolls were good too - using avocado instead of meat or tofu gave the springs an interesting texture. And the peanut sauce it came with was yummy. I would totally come back here to get #45 again. Service was fine - our waters were constantly refilled, but it's not super friendly, just typical of most Asian places. Wow. I don't think my expectations were high. I mean, it IS pho in campbell. But there really weren't any redeeming qualities to the meal here. FOOD: The broth tasted so light, it was almost flavorless. The chicken was thigh meat, which would've made it difficult to be overcooked, but somehow it was. The spring roll had nothing in it but shrimp and vermicelli and the dipping sauce was one note. I really could've made this myself at home. PRICE: $8.50 for pho ga (chicken noodle soup) is not only high, but for the portion, it is equiv to a small bowl at other restaurants at an extra large bowl price. OVERALL: I'd prefer going to east SJ for some pho or downtown SJ for some hu tieu if I'm craving some noodle soup. read more

I am sorry to say this, and I don't often write bad reviews, but I can't come back here again and cannot recommend this place for two reasons: 1. After a 15 minute wait to be seated, we ordered immediately and then had to wait 25 MINUTES just for 2 bowls of pho (we even had identical orders! How hard can it be?) That's 50 minutes total of waiting, just for pho. Not worth it. 2. Upset stomach/diarrhea for both me and my bf about an hour after finishing our identical pho's. We ordered a very normal order - beef pho with steak, brisket, and meatballs. I've never had pho upset my stomach like this before. I've given it three chances throughout the year out of desperation and lack of viet food in Campbell and each time I kept asking myself why I keep giving it chances. This third time was the last. The first time I got take out and everything was bland. Second time I ate in and got a rice dish and their sandwiches and viet coffee. All terrible. Last time I ordered the premium chicken pho to go for a whopping $17 and ate two bites and trashed it. The SALTIEST pho I've ever had I couldn't even eat it and I usually lean on the saltier spectrum. The chicken thigh was dry despite paying extra for the "better stuff". I was so sad, it felt like they dumped fish sauce into the broth. Take your money elsewhere if you want to eat Vietnamese food because this place is not it. One star is for fast service. I was drawn to this place after a friend told me they make their broth and everything else from scratch. Yay for them! They also serve free-range chicken, and don't use MSG. It looks like they took over from what was previously a diner. Clean and comfortable, nothing luxurious. And, the staff is friendly and attentive. I also appreciate the fact that they mark which menu items are gluten-free. We got the beef pho, #29 special noodle dish and fried shrimp dumplings (not gluten-free). My daughter likes fried finger foods, so the shrimp dumplings were perfect. And the chicken broth that came with the #29 was the adults' favorite. I would have liked to try the fresh spring rolls, but we just made a huge batch at home a couple days before. Overall, the food was tasty and fresh. No complaints about any part of our experience here. Just can't give it 5 stars though, because there was nothing that stood out as to-die-for. I'd definitely go back though! Ive had to opportunity to speak with the owner. (a midlife asian man with an unforgettable Passion for this business) His passion to thrive is very apparent to me as he disusses his business plan. He tells me that this first month or so, he plans on talking to all of his customers and taking into account all suggestions. (he even reads these yelp reviews) He has seen suggestions regarding dishes, flavors and food allergy alternatives. He plans to continously update the menu untill it compliments the demands of his customers. LeQuy is already serving Gluten-Free meals and is in the works to implementing Brown Rice. The take home summary of my review is that this will be a restaurant that is passionate about learning what the community thinks and is looking for. We should continue to support restaurants such as this one. It doesnt feel like your typical cookie cutter restaurant business model. It FEELS like people who are passionate about having a good restaurant. I reccomend the Red Curry. (it comes out yellow, but only because he Hand Makes the curry himself, no food coloring!!! Brand spanking new restaurant. Interesting decor since it looks like a converted diner (Iron Skillet before?). At least it's nice and clean! Interesting menu...half vietnamese, half american diner breakfast stuff. Okay, well, I didn't drive all the way here to have breakfast food. Our group had the summer rolls, pho, vermicelli, seafood hu tieu. Summer rolls were pretty standard, but seemed like it needed something more like some cilantro or basil or something. Pho was pretty average. The broth was very mild tasting with a clean flavor (not too fatty, which is nice!). Just felt like it needed more spices, more cilantro, and less water. Glad to hear that there's no MSG tho. Too bad, it just left me with a pretty blah expression by the end. The Vermicelli with BBQ pork was pretty good. Marinade for the pork was a little on the salty side. Noodles were firm and had a little bit of chewiness to it. The seafood hu tieu broth was also clean tasting, but bland. With all the seafood ingredients, the broth should have had a more succulent, fragrant taste. Instead it just tasted like again, it needed more ingredients and less water. For the price at $12.50, could have been better. The manager/owner/server was very nice. Wish they would focus on doing just one thing (don't do a full american breakfast) and boil down their broths a little more. there's some potential here...hope they will find their groove. We have lived in Campbell for 11 years, and there have been numerous restaurants at this same location, none of which have survived (and with just cause). However, it looks like LeQuy is here to stay! I took my family there last night, as I had noticed that there was a new Pho restaurant celebrating their grand opening, and I figured that we'd check it out. The service was fast and friendly. The tea they served was great. We reviewed their menu and they had a very wide selection from which to choose. I love Pho, but I am eating low-carb, thus i requested their Beef Combination without noodles, and they offered to put-in an assortment of fresh vegetables and tofu instead . . . it was fabulous. My wife also ordered the Beef combination (standard), and my kids split a Chicken Pho (the QTY was perfect for two kids to split). The flavors of both the beef and chicken broth were great, and they provided plenty of basil, lime, jalapenos, and bean sprouts. The prices were reasonable as well. Also, we have some friends who have Gluten allergies, and I noted that their menu specified which dishes are Gluten-Free - we called our friends from the restaurant to tell them about this, and they went there last night as well and told us that this is their new favorite Pho house in the area. On our way out, we met the owner - Hong - and he was very polite and appreciative of our visiting his establishment. It is a family-owned operation, and they seem to really care about making sure the customer is pleased with their meal. It's nice to have a local restaurant with great food, reasonable prices, excellent service, and a nice atmosphere. We are likely to become regulars at this restaurant. read more
