Beef Combination $10.95 It was REALLY GOOD. I come from SF and I have been eating pho or "beef combination" noodles for many years. I have high expectations and LeQuy has met them. The soup was savory with the perfect level of umami-ness. The beef and noodles complements each other and takes your senses to another level. The only set back of the meal was that it is expensive. In SF, good pho is like 6 to 7 dollars. Here it is near 11 dollars. The other thing is the portion is small. Maybe I'm just a glutonist. Or go to Pho Kim Long, near the great mall, their pho is delicious and it is $8 to 9 dollars. Don't be hesitant to go try LeQuy out. There are a lot of white people in there and you may question the quality of the food. But, it's a vietnamese old lady that's behind the scene, in the kitchen, making your food; and the food is delicious. read more

You know how sometimes you eat a lunch knowing it's a bit overpriced but afterwards, you think to yourself - "that was totally worth it!"? Well, this wasn't one of those meals. The spring rolls had way too much shredded green leaf lettuce and hardly any meat and no herbs, leaving it full of texture but completely void of flavor. If it weren't for the peanut sauce, I would have struggled to eat any of it as bits of broken noodles and shredded lettuce kept falling out. The pho was decent minus the tripe that needed to be cleaned more. Furthermore, since Sriracha seems to be a rare commodity now, this restaurant has switched it out for an unnaturally orange hot sauce that has too much tang. I left it out of my pho for fear it would have made it too vinegary. And the only spicy thing they had was jalapeños that held no kick, leaving my want for spiciness unfulfilled. The servers were nice enough if not completely bored. We used to frequent this place a lot, but this will most likely be the last time LeQuy, what happened?! Where did you go? I know there aren't many pho places or Vietnamese food in this area but this place is HORRENDOUS and I'm being nice. Not sure what other 5 star reviewers are eating. This is one of the absolute worse places to eat. Extremely dirty establishment and poor food practices, not to mention the outrageous prices. $15 for a bowl of pho? With beef that tastes like mothballs, EWW. Broth was disgusting to say the least. I grew up in the Bay Area and have been to all the pho and Vietnamese places around the area as well as east sj. This review is based off of door dash delivery pho. I make that disclaimer because pho is alway at its best fresh in the restaurant. However, the basic flavors remain and this beef pho tasted very similar to the carton of pho broth you can buy at Whole Foods. It's as if the flavoring packet they decided to use way way too concentrated and had no true flavor of bone broth. I shall continue my search for a local delivery place that has decent broth because sometimes on Sunday you need to lie on the couch and get delivery pho. This is my go to pho place since my job location moved to this area. I am pretty consistent in getting my number 34 with extra lemons. I sometimes switch it up and get the vermicelli salad with pork, or chicken, or eggrolls. Also another delicious dish. They have fresh spring rolls, which I have tried. I don't get often, because of the price. I only spring for those when I really want to go all out. The service is friendly and I am usually seated quickly unless its packed which does happen depending on the time of day. My main pho place to go when I'm feeling some pho in the mid mornings! I love how this place is always really clean. Some pho restaurants are pretty janky.. if you know what I mean. Also the hoisin and sriracha bottles tips are CLEAN. YAS I typically just get the beef pho and its good. Not GREAT, but its good. Prices are a little bit more compared to other places, but it is more comfortable to sit and enjoy your food. I got the bun bo once, and it was mediocre. Definitely get the pho here. I also appreciate the TV in here so I can watch sports while I eat. Service is excellent here too! And food comes out fast so that is another plus. read more

This spot is okay for a quick fix. I wouldn't say they specialize in one thing, but have many options. I only had the pho here and I would say its below average for the San Jose area, but there isn't many options around this area so it is what it is. Got there in 30 minutes to pick up, and there was a line out the door just for order pick-ups. Yikes! + The food itself is quite tasty (hence the recent lines, no doubt). Give the BBQ pork "salad" a try. And personally I love the pho with spicy broth. + The prices are reasonable + The owner is extremely nice. The plants outside the front door were apparently very tiny sprouts when the owner met his wife, and they have since grown to be large and lush. He gave me a clipping to transplant. Wow. Super clean environment, fast service and delicious pho. I had the chicken breast pho tonight with shrimp spring rolls and thai iced tea. Pho was great because the broth as super flavorful and the chicken was free range breast and shaved thin. The thai iced tea was nice and dry and well spiced. This is one of two restaurants I've dined in person since the pandemic began in March. I mention that only because most of my experiences during this have been take-out and so I don't have tons of first-hand knowledge on how businesses are doing things when it comes to dining in. But I found this place to be great. The food was delicious & it came out fast. Everything was clean and the tables were spaced far apart. I made a reservation the night before and it was confirmed the day of and just a totally seamless process. If it were a bit closer to my house I'd probably go more often but I will be back at some point I'm sure! read more

Memories may be deceiving, painting a vision of unicorns and happiness when it may have been completely the opposite. I ate at LeQuy many years ago when they first opened and was impressed with their pho. Haven't had an opportunity to return until last night. Thankfully my memory didn't paint invisible unicorns! The food is as great as I remember. The price for a large bowl of pho is about $10-$14 depending on what you order. I highly recommend their vegan avocado wrap to start. That appetizer is approximately $10, but definitely worthwhile and enough food to share. I had the pho with beef brisket. Yum. Insider tip: if you like spicy, they make their own lemongrass sauce. You have to ask for it. They have free internet and a number of tables available. Depending on the hour of day, this restaurant can be quite popular. The staff members are nice and efficient. It was my first time at LeQuy, I was in the mood for Pho and visiting San Jose. I found them on yelp, the pho was good, the service was also good. However the ladies restroom was dirty and needed to be cleaned. We were there for lunch I can't imagine it got so dirty in the few hours that they were opened. So I'm assuming they hadn't cleaned it from the day before. If I would have gone in the restroom when we arrived I would not have eaten there. read more

Finally got to try this restaurant which I bookmarked some time ago. I ordered my favorite BBQ pork and Shrimp vermicelli salad which is a very simple but popular dish. I have to say I'm disappointed - pork slices were thin and had some fatty parts, there were 4 pieces of shrimp (not prawn) with each shrimp sliced into half . Dressing lacked a punch so not impressive either. I also got a take out for my husband, BBQ chicken vermicelli salad.. will find out how he likes that one but I'm not expecting much. Pho broth has way too strong of a star anise flavor. Just can't get over it. Chicken wings, pork chops, and bun are good.

As far as I can tell, the lot that this restaurant is in is secretly cursed. Throughout my life I have seen it go through so many different hands -- in my earlier childhood, it was a Sam's BBQ, and I think the longest lasting one I can remember was Stuffed Pizza (possibly spelled as Stuft Pizza -- it's been a while) but -- more recently -- it was the Campbell Skillet. In any case, I try to make a point to visit it whenever it changes, in order to see what direction the newest owners are taking it. I'm not super familiar with Vietnamese food, so I don't know that I can fairly review what I had when I'd gone for dinner (it was Pho. It tasted nice to me, but I am just as likely to eat Pho at Fresh Choice as at a Vietnamese place, so I have no idea what is considered the proper taste for it.) I did, however, go here for breakfast a few months ago, and breakfast foods I feel more qualified to comment on. I ordered a bagel with lox, since I was delighted that it was on the menu (it's one of my favourite breakfast foods, and I was psyched that it was here in the current restaurant's incarnation -- it made me feel like the place was going in a direction that I could get behind. And yes, I did run around like a kid in a candy store when I visited NY a few years ago -- bagel and lox *everywhere*.) The bagel and lox came with the pickled flowerbud things on it (the proper name for them is escaping me right now, sorry -- they show up in a lot of Italian food? Anyway) and -- shallow as it is, I thought the way everything was arranged on the plate was *beautiful*. As for the taste test -- it absolutely passed. I loved it. I made my mom's friend, who was eating with us, also try it -- she'd never had bagel and lox in her life, despite the fact that her husband had adored it, so she was wary, but she really really liked it. (She is actually the reason that this is four out of five stars, though -- while my mom and I both loved what we had, she wasn't as happy with her eggs. I cannot for the life of me remember what her specific complaint was, but I felt that it meant it was more fair to rate it four, given that she wasn't entirely satisfied.) And the fruit? Was amazing. I ended up talking to the people there (who were very polite!) and I recognized the place that they bought their produce from -- Oakmont Produce, which is local and amazing and basically a farmers' market selection in a store. It's reassuring to me when people buy locally -- and the fruit was perfect. (I'm picky when it comes to fruit -- if you serve me something like a chopped up red delicious with squishy grapes and under-ripe melons, I get incredibly cranky.) it was ripe, it didn't have any bad spots -- someone had to have been going through the produce pretty carefully for it. The reason I rate this a 4 out of 5 is the customer service is good but could be better. Recently wen my and a lady had our table I had to keep flagging her down to get my refills . Wow! I enjoyed this place plenty!! First of all we were seated in a booth, our party of 3, however we were expecting a fourth and we are all plus size people so I requested another table where we'd feel was a better fit. They gladly accommodated us. Our host and waitress Ellena was a doll!! Her quick whit and sharp sense of humor was a perfect complement to my spicy Phö... we had egg rolls too which were also amazing. I would have enjoyed some more noodles in my Phö but I tend to eat more than most my family and friends when we have Phö. Our visit was brief but enjoyable.
