    Margarita pizza

The food was very delicious. Though I wish they had more options for drinks. Like chocolate milk or juice for the kids. But overall it was a good experience.

I used to go to Leo's more frequently when i lived almost nx door to it on Wolcott Hill Rd. But Im ordering again tonite and expect the same delicious pizza (and grinders) they always make. Quick service, good pizza (yes you can order thin crust) and they always seem to be WORKIN HARD!

Clam pizza with white and anchovies.

First and foremost Leo's make's great food. I ordered the clam pizza with white sauce and anchovies and it was delicious. I also ordered a cold cut style hoagie and chicken wings. The sandwich was very good which I ate on my plane ride the following day. Customer service is awesome, not sure if I was speaking with Leo, but he took my order and relayed everything back exactly as ordered. Leo's also called me back to ensure I wanted fresh basil on the pizza which was great. That is important to me considering I live in Nevada and l'm lucky to get a "hello" most days from businesses. Delivery was prompt and super friendly. I highly recommend Leo's if your passing through or if you live in the area. Great job, keep it up!

    Inside Leo's for a slice

One of the most important aspects of good takeout/delivery pizza is that it has to withstand the steam circulating around the hot pizza when the lid closes. Leo's is our neighborhood pizza joint and it has that classic delivery crust type (a bit heartier than New Haven style, but not too thick) that holds up on short trips, and the cheese and toppings all hold up well too. Leo's has a few tables, but I would say it's more of a takeout/delivery outfit. One of my favorite parts of a Leo's pizza is the sauce. The flavors are balanced and each pizza has a healthy amount of sauce. Today, I just got a slice of cheese pizza that was ready in minutes and I like that they have that option. Leo's also has my favorite meatball grinder in the immediate area. The meatballs are very good and they slice them, which is great for sandwich management. The mozzarella is perfectly melted. The sauce is very good, and they have topping choices like grilled onions and peppers. The bread holds it altogether nicely, but keeps the focus on what's inside. These are some of the reasons why Leo's is our regular place for quick turnaround pizza and grinders.

    Buffalo Chicken Pizza

Leo's Pizza is located right in the middle of a neighborhood towards the center of Wethersfield, a 3 minute walk from my house. I do not get food here often is it's just okay but you know what, I just had two pizzas from here and they were very......very good. Service was fairly quick with my pick up order, they were very nice and claimed business was a little slow during this COVID-19 pandemic on a Thursday afternoon. I was able to try their thin crust bacon margarita and their buffalo chicken pizzas. Before I complained that their buffalo chicken was really greasy and the chicken was very dry but this time around, complete opposite. Their bacon margarita was absolutely delicious. Everyone loved it. Plenty of bacon bits, beautiful thin crust, quality cheese, tasty sauce, just much better than I could have ever expected. I feel like Leo's Pizza has been her litterally forever and they pretty support that claim on their website. I am very lucky to have quality pizza this close to me in the middle of my own neighborhood. I've tried their chicken tenders and a grinder somewhat recently as well and both were very good. They've done a great job this time and the last few times I've had their food so I'll glady update my review as they deserve a better reputation.

Simple place with great food...for a pizza place, wings are surprisingly very good. Salads are a big weak and could be kicked up a bit.

Reliably good Greek style pizza. We especially like the spinach pizza. Never had a bad pie from Leo's.

I was in Connecticut for a wedding a few weeks ago and ended up in old Wethersfield around dinner time, so obviously we had to return to my wife's old pizza place to order up a pizza. The place was absolutely packed when we arrived so we decided to just order a large pizza to go, half pepperoni and half sausage and meatball. The pizza took maybe twenty minutes or so to make and when it was done, well, it looked absolutely spectacular. My half of the pizza was the sausage and meatball and it was like a whirlwind of nostalgia punching me in the mouth with each and every bite. The crust was perfect, the sauce was perfect, the toppings were perfect, and the overall pizza was everything I've been craving for over a year since my last visit to the nutmeg state. Overall, Village Pizzeria & Family Restaurant is everything you expect from a central Connecticut pizza joint. The restaurant looks cozy and nice inside, the staff was super busy but still friendly, and the food was top notch. This place is definitely an old Wethersfield gem.

Not…read moreclams, not cheese, not crust--just the allium family's most fart-prone, overhyped stepchild. I may or may not be contemplating a couple of Tums. I'm conflicted on this 2/5 rating since I wish there was a 2.5/5 option here. There are some promising things about Frank Pepe's: a coal-fired oven, photos of the same white clam pizza I ordered that look more like pizzas I had in Italy than the one I got, and other options for toppings that might work out better. Perhaps asking for light garlic and maybe the addition of the calabrian chilies from the seasonal special pizza (or pickled jalapeños, if available) would've fixed the balance (and topping palatability) of this pizza. A different pizza also may be substantially tastier, but goshdarnit, we're close enough to the ocean that I'd like to think the white clam is a slam-dunk. It's even listed in neon in the window! As ordered, unchanged, off the menu, though, I feel like I need to leave this state for a pizza just to feel something. Connecticut calling itself "the pizza state" has thus far been a lie; a cruel joke wherein a few outstanding outliers try to gloss over the fact that most of the state's pizza is mid-to-bad. "Mystic Pizza" being one of the state's most famous audiovisual exports sort of fits given that the availability of standout pizza here appears to be a mystical unicorn I've yet to find after moving here last year. Pepe's gets serious props for using large chunks of clams that don't look like the typical, uniformly cut, restaurant-supply-can chunks, but they were a bit rubbery and almost completely drowned out by the amount of garlic. It's like they were cooked too long, and the moisture from the clams evaporated accordingly. The crust had a little crunch to it as well, but lacked the crispy bubbles and heavier charred spots I expect from this style of pizza and from the assorted menu photos. Either go foldable or go harder on the fire--anywhere in between lands in disappointment territory. Commit to a bit. $8 a pint is a bit much for basic beer selections like Sam Adams and Peroni, too, but that's sort of my least concern. We live in Hell where everything is expensive lately, and at least beer prices haven't shot up as badly as gas prices. I probably should've ordered the sangria in hindsight. White peach? Here for it. Also, the staff was friendly, and service was prompt. I really should give it a second chance with a more traditional tomato-sauce pizza, or maybe a margherita. If you go, expect it to fall short of the hype unless whoever made the nicely bubbly white clam pie in the photos posted here is manning the oven. Unless you like garlic as much as I like cheese, consider asking to go light on the garlic for a better-balanced pizza if you order this one.
