I was assured by a tall male that he saw the food "being made" and it would be right out. I seated myself and waited an additional 13 minutes for our food. Our plates were delivered by the same tall male. The salad plate had OLIVES on it and the hotdog was lukewarm with room-temperature/cold fries. We pointed out the OLIVES and the male asked, "Do you want me to take it back?" (UMMMM - YES - CROSS CONTAMINATION!) The waitresses came over and were EXTREMELY APOLOGETIC and didn't know what else to say. Eventually, a replacement salad was delivered. It should not take 45+ minutes to get a simple hotdog "special". The other meal didn't even require cooking - it was mounds of tuna, macaroni and chicken salad on pita bread. Neither one of us finished our meals because at that point, we had lost our appetites. WHAT a WASTE of our time, money and drive to Marlborough from Hartford. We will not be returning! (yes, we tipped the waitress well because it was not her fault!)

It was a creamy tomato sauce and really needed seasoning to punch up the flavors. The meatball was dense, lacked any seasoning or flavor. They were cooked and warm, just not much going on beyond ground beef. The Marinara was actually really good. Balanced, sweet but not overly acidic. The quality showed in that sauce. The crème brûlée was very good. Little bit boozy due the gran mariner on top with the caramelized sugar. Creamy and light on the vanilla but the perfect consistency. The best bite of the bites. The garlic knots and cappuccino were okay. Nothing fancy there, but functional and good enough. The server showed concern when I didn't eat much of my entree. She offered replacements, which I declined. The hospitality was great even with her being as busy as she was. Gross too! Luckily, I had my own Heinz ketchup at home. The bread it was on was very good and well grilled. Maybe next time I'd see if I could just order some grilled bread and cut my losses. We ordered breakfast and iced coffee from the café. The Brown Sugar Maple Croissant Breakfast Sandwich was absolutely delicious! Even though the café was very busy, the ordering line moved quickly, and they brought our drinks and food right to our table--a really nice touch. We also stopped by the bakery. Even later in the morning, there was still a great selection of baked goods. We brought home strawberry lemonade muffins to enjoy tomorrow, and I can't wait to try them. The general store was filled with adorable locally made products, along with a nice selection of take-and-bake meals that we'll definitely be coming back for. The entire property is thoughtfully designed with charming little seating areas scattered throughout. It's the kind of place where you want to slow down, relax, and spend a while exploring. Each dish had sauces that were flavor filled. Our service was phenomenal from start to finish... Which was hurried because the rain moved in, and still as professional and courteous as the start of the night. We don't live right around the corner but we will be back! We order the calamari the old way, the kids don't like it the new way, they like it the original way. They have always been accommodating and we have ordered it at least 12 times since it changed without a problem. The last two times we literally got half a plate of calamari with two or three chili peppers. We always ask for extra chili peppers and we normally get at least a dozen. No joke, there had to be about 10(each kid got 3 and I got one) calamari and three chili peppers on the plate. Unfortunately my kids were ravenous and I could not get a picture in time. I had not eaten it all day as well. I brought it up to the waitress and she said that it's probably because we asked for a different differently. That doesn't make sense, but it's not her fault. I didn't see the usual manager in there so I left it alone. I then ordered the Lamb lollipops which were so well done there was absolutely no pink inside. Also, got the lobster bisque which had absolutely no lobster inside. We have never had this issue before except for the last two times we have been here, including today . My daughter ordered the macaroni and cheese and it was like a soup water mix at the bottom. She ate a few bites and that was it. Pizza was good as always. Our waitress was very nice, I wasn't busting her chops because I was too hungry to wait for a re-do. 100% not worth $90. Floors were sooo sticky your feet made noise too. This has been our favorite spot and it is a few doors down, I sure hope we just hit a few bad days and its better next time.
