I've been a customer of Sofia's Brick Pizza for a couple of years, and I don't know why I hadn't written a review sooner--because they truly deserve it! The service is excellent. The staff is always attentive and friendly, which makes every visit enjoyable. But the highlight is, of course, the pizza. This is football pizza - meaning it's basic. You get it and watch a football game and then it's over and the pizza is gone and maybe your team won or maybe they lost. Either way, you had pizza. Sofia's is tucked into a little strip of stores in Wethersfield and has the traditional NY style pizza sign outside. Walking inside, it smelled like a NY pizzeria! I thought, ok, this may be a "legit" NY style slice. The man that greeted me was very nice, but said he only had two slices, so I ordered an uncut medium to go. When I got home, I cut off a couple slices and it was AWESOME! Great tasty sauce to cheese ratio, super thin and crispy crust, and even the crust rim was great. I ate it all. If I could give this place a negative 5 star review, then I would. I just spent $60 for a "party size" pizza (half cheese, half meat lovers), 20 wings, and a 2 liter soda for my daughter's birthday party. The price was fine, if it wasn't for the fact that they ran out of the party size boxes, so they divided the pizza into two regular pizza boxes and the slices were extremely TINY! Pretty dark restaurant, went there on a Wednesday around 2pm there was only one other table occupied when I walked in. It took 30 minutes for my small calzone ($8.75) to come out and when it did it was sliced into 5 pieces which I wasn't a fan of. The food at sofia's is AWESOME, the service is TERRIBLE. Sofia's really does use fresh high quality ingredients. The food is always great and cooked properly. However, their service and delivery is terrible. They tell everyone that it will be ready in 40, the first time it was delivered 10 mins past that, making it 50 mins before we got food. The second time we ordered, they dropped off half the order, and came back 20 mins later with most of the remainder of the order, only to have to come back a third time to bring the last part, about 5 mins later. If you want the best quality, have time to kill, order from sofia's but check your order before the delivery person leaves. read more

Sofia's has been highly recommended to me by our hotel, friends, family and reviews. Ordered the pizza at 5:20 on a Saturday night and told it would be 45 minutes. We waited an hour before calling to check on the status of our order. We were told that they were extremely busy, sorry the delay, it'd be another 15-20 minutes. After another 30 minutes of waiting and a 3rd call we were told that they were very busy and he couldn't tell me when we would get our pizza. Then he changed his story to that it was with the delivery person who left a half hour ago. I asked to speak to a manager and first said too busy and then said he was the manager. He said he would call me back in 5 minutes after trying to track down where our pizza was. 10 Minutes passed and no call. So I called back and things got testy. By this point we were at 2 hours since our order had been placed. We were hungry, frustrated because we weren't getting a straight answer. I canceled the order amidst a testy exchange with "manager" who hung up on me. I would have loved to try their pizza. But after being strung along for two hours and the horrible customer service from the guy who took the order, I will not try them again. read more
