I stayed at the Hilton for 5 days and ate here almost every night. It's super convenient and a has a very chill vibe. Great variety on the menu. Staff was attentive and friendly (even with my 2yo ) The braised short rib tacos were a good size filled with tender braised short rib. The chicken caprese sandwich was a good size as well. Very filling. And a pretty neutral dish. The pasta was good and flavorful. I added chicken to mine. Again-generous portions. The salmon was perfectly cooked and paired well with the veggies and rice. read more

This is not a "destination" bar/restaurant. It's an "I'm staying at the Hilton, and there's nothing right around it" bar/restaurant. That being said, it's decent. Overpriced of course. But the quality of the food and drinks is pretty good. Service friendly. We sat at the bar a couple times for dinner and drinks. The first night I tried the Maryland Crab Bisque ($14) which was more like Crab Broth with a few precious pieces of crab and three thin small slices of garlic baguette. (In other words, I was still starving). So I ordered the L'Enfant Salad. Light and delicious but was $15 with no protein. $29 for soup and salad. Good soup and salad though. Husband had the Cheese Quesadilla which he said was good but heavy on the corn. Lots of corn. $14 worth with no added protein. Drinks/Wine were in the $14 range. They had a Cherry Old Fashioned that Husband liked. The second night I really wanted Pasta, so I ordered the "Perfect Pasta" which was $18 with no added protein. Tasted like they took a jar of Vodka Sauce and mixed in some Pesto. Just barely didn't overcook the Penne. The shaved Parmesan on top was good and it was served piping hot. Husband got the Turkey Club Sandwich which was giant for $17 and it did come with Fries. If I'd been in the sandwich mood we would have been smart to share it, cause he was only able to eat half and it didn't hold up well in the room fridge. read more

Friday night, nothing else around, all the places in the plaza close by 6. So ended up here about 6:10pm, as I stayed in the hotel we figured last option... should have door dashed or something!. Service downright sucked!!!! We sat down right away, very empty, waited for several moments to be notice or attend to us. Someone brought menus and water about 6:20 and took off. Finally came back about 10 minutes later (6:30) to get the order. The order then took about 20 min in that timeI ran up to my room, used facilities took a 2 min phone call, returned to the table and waited a at least 10 more minutes. Arriving about 6:40 We each (2 of us) had a burger and fries with 12oz draft. Burger was good. Not worth $23 each, but good. It was like a thin Burger King whopper size to give you an idea. Finished our food within 15 min- 6:55, piled our plates and waited... and waited... and waited. All while 4 servers stood in their servers closet chatting away. Did not seem to notice is, I went to get my phone to take a picture, when they finally dispersed. Brought our check, never inquired if we wanted dessert or another beverage. Came to DC for a few days before I head out to Maryland to visit friends After a long day of travel I checked into my hotel and given that I was thirsty and hungry I decided to just keep it local... and by local I mean eating inside the hotel Came down after leaving my stuff in the room and the grill was hopping! You have to sit yourself bar style so I was lucky enough to find an empty table for two although it was me, myself and me again! Service was slow but can't fault a ton there as it was packed especially since I was told they had a few conferences going on which explained the packed bar and grill I had a few drinks... started with a stella after I was told blue moon ran out ugh but I love Stella too but was bummed because I wanted a blue moon. Stella wasn't stellar ... I mean it was fine but it wasn't cold it was kinda room temperature cool which was a little disappointing. Then I decided on an signature cocktail and did the cherry old fashioned and that was delicious!! I ordered some wings, a pretzel, and a grilled chicken sandwich. The wings were great and so was the pretzel but I was hoping for more flavor on the chicken sandwich it felt bland and that's shocking given the chicken was grilled and had pesto so I was surprised and the fries it came with felt a little half cooled down too... not sure if they had left my plate sitting made before they brought it out but either way the sandwich could use more flavor Still it is a nice place and good choice to unwind after a long day! read more

Our friends were in town for the weekend and we stopped in here for a quick bite. We started off sitting at the bar, and tried their old fashioned's. I tried the apple cider and my boyfriend went for the cherry, both were tasty and made very well. There's ample seating and there's a ton of photo ops, including a sexy fireplace! Our servers were quick and helpful, we got a chance to talk with one of the managers and he kept us informed about their upcoming events. Food is not very good. I stay at this hotel often on business travel and I've given this restaurant many chances since it is convenient for me and the food is not very good and very pricey. The breakfast buffet is expensive yet has very few options, and not does not have high quality fruit or pastries. Even the omelets made to order are not very good. If you're staying in the Hilton, this place is handy. But it's expensive, and slow. Fairly swanky bar and restaurant layout, a bit noisy at busy times (hotel busy times, not just the restaurant, because it is fairly open.). I first went in the evening for a late meal. The staff didn't seem to know the items on the menu, I had to point at each one. I got the pretzel and the crudites. It took half an hour to arrive. Now, for an entree, that's a little long but might have been appropriate. But not for these. True, they did arrive elegantly plated. And the food itself was great. Huge pretzel, a good dipping sauce. Very fresh veggies, also with a dipping sauce. But, for $40 and 90 minutes there total? Not worth it. The breakfast buffet, which you can purchase ahead of time or bill to your room, was equally overpriced. Service again was good, though minimal. The buffet is really nothing more than your standard hotel buffet, although the quality is definitely a bit better. But is it worth $20? No. Scrambled egg, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, pastries, fruit and juice. I mean, it was decent, but the only reason I went is because it was handy. Great food, great service and for DC, a reasonable price. This is located inside the Hilton hotel, near the Mall, and not so easy to find when you're looking for it. We were in town for a long weekend of sightseeing with a family group and we're just looking for a good quick dinner before heading to see more sites. We had a variety of items from the menu, but my choice was a club sandwich, old school, and it was one of the best I'd ever had. This used to be a major favorite of mine but as years pass, it has all but disappeared from menus. I was excited and was not disappointed. It was warm on well toasted sourdough bread, and every ingredient seemed fresh and plentiful. Everyone of us (seven) was very happy with the place, the server, and the maitre d'hotel. A very happy evening dining experience for three of us visiting from Spokane, WA. We shared the L'Enfant salad, a delicious cream of broccoli soup (served with toast), and the strawberry cake for dessert. Our three individual entrees were mushroom ravioli with a salmon fillet added; pizza with chicken added; and farm seared chicken. We just had water as our beverage, except I also had hot tea with lemon and honey, which was served with a nice fancy setup. The service was impeccable, with two gentlemen checking with us often to confirm that all was in order. So in summary, this is an informal but very classy restaurant, very happy surroundings, delicious and interesting food, with outstanding service. read more

I've only had drinks from here, but the bartenders are extremely friendly. The staff throughout the bar and grill are accommodating, and the drinks aren't badly priced. My husband and I would drop by every evening when we got in from dinner. Our drinks were made in a timely manner, and the bartenders would talk to us here and there. The bar top was also unique in that it's a bunch of lit dots that change. I haven't had the food, but there were several families and guests eating at the restaurant every time I walked by. I can see why this place is rated so well, and when my husband and I plan our next trip, we will definitely be dining here at some point. read more

Food was just okay. I had the L'Enfant salad, which was basically lettuce mix with a few tomatoes and some dressing. Not really much to speak of. It didn't come with bread or anything so really not much there. I ordered at the bar to go and the maitre'd was very helpful and the food came out quickly. The space is wide open to the hotel lobby and the bar so it's pretty loud with no real feeling of place. We stayed at the Hilton for a week this July and enjoyed dining at L'Enfant bar and grill once for dinner. Another time we sat at the welcoming bar and had a drink. The food service was fast and the staff were nice. Everyone enjoyed their food! Hamburger, salmon salad, veggie burger and more. The restaurant is just off the lobby and open. Seating is varied (tall tables, low tables, couch and chairs by the fire) which is a unique aspect I like. read more

We would not recommend the hotel restaurant to any of our friends. We hosted our son's rehearsal dinner on Friday evening at the L'Enfant Bar and Grill. Stacy was great helping us prepare for this event but the actual dinner was very disappointing to say the least. The waiter hardly smiled. He brought out an extra drink that was not ordered. Three extra soups were brought out when they should have been salads making the bride have to wait for her starter. That would not have been an issue if the mistake was corrected right away but the issue was everyone was almost done by the time she received hers. The people who ordered the chicken entree were very disappointed. The chicken was way over cooked and extremely dry( I know this because I ordered the chicken) and had way too much pea and mint sauce poured on it leaving us to think the cook thought it would cover up the dryness of the chicken. The ones who got the steak entree said it was just okay not something they would get again. None of the food was extremely hot leaving us to believe that it sat back there in the pass for a long time. As with the starters, wrong entrees were brought out causing some of our guests to have to wait while others were eating. We couldn't understand how that happened when he wrote down our orders on our numbered menus. The desserts were the highlight of the evening. However, I would recommend pulling the cheesecake out of the freezer earlier due to the fact that mine was still partially frozen in the middle. We also had to track down our check at the end of the dinner since the waiter never came back. Ultimately, it was Vikas Nath that brought us our check. For the amount of money we paid ($80.00 a plate) we were expecting a five star dinner service/ meal which was very much not the case. We were pleasantly surprised that this Hilton based restaurant and bar beat our expectations. After long travel day and after check in we went for dinner and drinks. The lamb kabobs were tasty, flavorful and came with just the right amount of accoutrements including hummus, naan and of course tzatziki sauce. The pizza was also tasty, we did ask for it to get a little bit more 'burnt' and then it was perfect. Cocktails were spot on too. We are staying at the hotel the restaurant is located in. I ordered to-go to take back to the room. The bar was extremely noisy and crowded. There was no clear place to make an order. It all seemed a bit hectic and unsecured. (See photo of CC sitting out on bar) The spinach artichoke dip was creamy but a little over salted for my taste and severely lacking in artichokes. There was plenty of warm toasty bread to go with it though. The cheese quesadilla could have used bigger sides (little guac, sour cream, and pico only made it through the first piece. Wa wa.) Overall, it's what I would expect from hotel food. You pay for the convenience of not having to go anywhere. read more

Very nice restaurant located in the new Hilton Hotel. We had a large party that they accommodated on short notice. The food is delicious and the staff are superbly trained.
