With a beautiful storefront looking over the cobblestone streets of downtown Nantucket, we were REALLY expecting good things from the Lemon Press. Upon arriving, we found the staff to be a bit snobby & felt like we were bothering them as we ordered. We chose 2 coffees and avocado toast to share. There were tables outside, but no chairs, so we ate standing up. The toast came in a to go box, but there were no napkins or forks to eat it with, so we had to go back inside repeatedly. The entry way was a little hectic as we went on a Saturday morning. You can walk in to place an order and wait outside for it, or you can place a pick up order. I got the Atlantic bowl which was absolutely delicious. Very pricey but it was worth trying it. It was really fresh and nice and cool on a hot morning. The blue color was so vibrant and fun. We had a very pleasant experience at the Lemon Press. Our waiter was very friendly and the service was fast. I ordered the grey lady hot latte which was very delicious. A little lacking on the lavender flavor but not lacking in the coffee department it was still very solid. I ordered the LP breakfast which was very good! The potatoes were crisp and delicious. The bacon, toast and eggs were also top notch. My husband ordered the burrito and he really enjoyed it. It had a hint of spicy seasoning which gave it some great flavor and a kick. The fruit was fresh and nicely presented! The interior upstairs (where we sat) was so beautiful! We sat alongside the wall with the bench and it was cozy and comfortable. This is the "Anthropologie" of breakfast places. Everything is perfectly decorated! This would be an awesome spot to host a brunch event or even just stop by for your morning coffee. I came here twice while staying on Nantucket and loved everything I tired. The iced grey lady was a delicious lavender espresso drink - a must try if you love lavender. For food my favorite was the LP Benny. I also tried the rose water waffle; however, it tasted more like a regular waffle than anything special. If you're worried you're boyfriend won't find anything he likes in this trendy spot, I promise you're wrong! Really surprised by the harsh Yelp critics here acting like they are reviewing a five star restaurant. Lemon Press is a quaint spot offering healthy breakfast and lunch options, with the option of some vegan friendly things made to order, or grab and go. I can't comment on behalf of the acai bowls or smoothies, but I have been to my share of health forward and vegan spots living in Manhattan and Southern California. Lemon Press could easily compete against any shop in either of those locations. Yes, the prices are premium, but so are most other things on Nantucket. You make that decision when you decide to come to an island for vacation. I had the avocado toast, which has so much potential to be really good if there were more flavor. It was quite bland and was missing spices, lemon, chia seeds... or even scallions. Anything to add a zing to avocado's naturally muted flavor. I also had the charcoal lemonade which is my go to test for any reputable juicery/smoothie house. It was good and cured my hang over. But beware, it makes your smile black when you drink it! We laughed about it. The chia seeds in it was unique, have never had that in one before. The energy balls were great. There's a lot of potential here. Push the flavors to justify the cost, and you've got a recipe for success. read more

OMG!! RUN, don't walk to Lemon Press! Absolutely charming, quaint and delicious organic food which is just phenomenal! Staff was professional, friendly and so delightful. Julia gets a 5 star review for being exceptional, appreciative and made our experience wonderful. The breakfast sandwich with added bacon and avocado is by far THE BEST BREAKFAST SANDWICH I HAVE EVER HAD ( and I pride myself in on eating a lot of breakfast sandwiches). All the other dudes being served looked delicious too and I am sure they were! Added bonus - their food truck was also at Cisco Brewery where we also visited later in the day! The falafel was very yummy, I thought that it was a bit greasy but very tasty. The tuna was good, the texture was good and moist but I thought it could be flavored slightly differently. The pasta salad was yummy- I loved that- delicious! They had a few pastries which looked very good. There were many more options on the menu which I wanted to try! So glad to know of a vegan friendly place with very friendly service here on Nantucket! I wanted to go almost every day! You get a lot for what you pay for. Service was a bit slow but we didn't mind because the vibes were really fun in there. Our waiter was helpful and made some good recommendations for us. I was eager to start my summer day with an iced latte at this popular place. After ordering I joined the crowd on the sidewalk waiting for their orders. When my latte arrived, I shocked to see it looked like 1/2 milk and 1/2 melted ice; there was barely any coffee/ espresso taste, or any taste. The WORSE latte I've ever had in my entire life. We were visiting Nantucket and searching for a place that had gluten free options for one person in our party. On paper it seemed like a good fit as we read the menu and there we're some options. The wait for a table at opening at 11am was 30 min we were told but it took about 45. My partner ordered the kofka burger with lamb for $19. He said to the waitress "that's with the lamb right?" So what did she do? She gave him the lamb patty and also added extra lamb gyro meat. It was a bit odd. Like why is he getting this extra meat? After we left and I noticed on the bill a $9 extra for that meat. I would have said something had I noticed and didn't read the bill cause I assumed it was correct. It also took about 45 min for the food to arrive. I got a chicken gyro, it was good but not worth $17 and it was barely enough food. My aunt got a salad with no meat for $19. This place is not worth the wait or the food. Big mistake to come here and it ate up a ton of time where we could have been exploring the island. read more

everything was kind of on the mediocre side unfortunately. the berry smoothie was bad: it was watery and with a hint of almond butter taste. the gyro plate was so mid: the lamb slices were dry and honestly would have preferred the gyro slices from trader joe's. the poke bowl is the only thing i would recommend. it was very veggie heavy which i prefer and had a good flavor. the persian breakfast didn't have that much duck in it and was ok. looking around us after we had ordered i realized that the salads are probably the good things to get here but it was too late. looking at the price of the salads i didn't know if they were going to be very small salads but they definitely looked worth it and a good amount for a salad. lastly the truffle fries were a good cut. i prefer skinny fries but the truffle flavor was near nonexistent and they were kind of tasteless. at least they weren't too salty. they give like no ketchup so if u like a lot ask for extra since even asking for a second side it wasn't enough. service is ok but they seem understaffed slightly when busy read more

We had lunch today May 26 2021 at the Lemon Press. Very beautifully done restaurant, very nice people, well trained. Interesting menu and fresh, well seasoned ingredients. We ate outside and that was fun. We had the avocado salad and the Persian Nachos. The flavors were good, but I was surprised that the nachos were a huge pile of fried pita with humus and some vegetables. The flavor was wonderful - sumac - but not really very much food there if you didn't want more than 6 pieces of bread. We left almost 30 pieces after scraping off the toppings. Disappointing. The avocado salad was tasty, the cold rice was a surprise. Would have enjoyed it warmer not straight from the fridge. As it was a cool day (Nantucket is like that). we would have welcomed some classic Persian lentil soup or some other warm dish, but none available until fall. I went here twice. The food was delicious l as well as the smoothies. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. Taking a star off because the staff seemed very aloof both days. The first day I went it was early, not busy at all but everyone working there seemed confused and were wandering around kind of lost. The second day I went it was busy and we sat at the bar. Even though they seemed to have a full staff, there was again a lot of lost looking staff members walking around but not getting much done to help the customers. I know it's COVID and staffing is tough but for the amount of people they had working I would expect food or drinks to be served hot as opposed to cool and for the staff to be more aware of customers needs. We would ask questions about or order like "I ordered a coffee a while ago, can you check if it's coming?" and they would say, "let me go check" and wander off, look at the computer but then never come back, and we could see them just walking around after. This place is a gem on the island. If you have dietary restrictions, if you are vegan, gluten free, dairy free, or just appreciate real food-this is the stop for you. The space is super warm and inviting, the ladies who work there are lovely, and the food is delicious! I went two days in a row while on a business trip, as I have a dairy intolerance and there are not a ton of dietary friendly spots on Nantucket. I had the vegan breakfast sandwich one morning, and the almond butter toast the next. Both were great, but I could eat that almond butter toast every day of my life and be happy. This is my upteenth attempt to get this restaurant's attention. I had a disastrous and dangerous visit to this establishment last week. Worst part is I'm yet to receive any response despite many an email. Here is the email I sent: Your on-line ordering service is a total disaster. I ordered two bowls on-line this am at 9.09. Was told to pick up between 9.38 And 9.53. I didn't get my food until 10.15. I basically had to re-order twice while there. While also waiting outside in a huge crowd. No one's on-line order worked. It was a complete logistical Failure and unsafe- impossible to maintain social distancing! The worst part is that the nut allergy -- clearly outlined on the initial order -- was totally ignored. There was granola -- which the nut allergy didn't order -- all over the top of both. This could have sent my girlfriend to the hospital due to anaphylaxis. I would have taken it back, but waiting for 40 minutes in a thicket of miserable people whose orders also failed wasn't an option. Awaiting a response and refund from this business... read more
