Warning: Ignore the 5 star reviews and pay attention to the left-crying, combative, rude energy,…read moreripped off , creepy apartment reviews. I ditto their story and feel like the wedding dress I just demanded back from her unfinished needs an exorcism. Please don't let her get her negativity on you and your dress before your wedding. She will probably be nice to you after she takes deep sighs and tells you how it's your fault, you bought the wrong dress like all the brides these days, it's too heavy, it's going to break her sewing machine, she has to charge double, and a multitude of it's your fault comments. I can't believe I paid $765 (plus a hefty $125 PREPAID consult fee) to have a simple layer shortened and then be told that I have to live with the way the dress looks. I've taken it somewhere else and they happily have told me it will be beautiful when they're done. I called her later that first day and said I was feeling kind of upset , and I said I wanted to come back and revisit it - there was going to be another consult fee. Isn't that part of what we pay for when you hire an Alterations person- Their time and advice? Seems she's only nice to you after she makes you feel bad, that's the only reason I can imagine for the positive reviews. PS my dress smelled like weird perfume when I picked it up (?!) so if you have an allergy to perfume you may want to let her know that! Ick. PPS she charges tax on her Service (which I questioned) , but you're not allowed to write Alterations in the Venmo comment. Kind of suspect.

I ended up being charged more than the quoted amount and had to bring my dress back a few times because she missed some basic things. I don't think the person whos doing alterations there is still there so perhaps this review is quickly outdated, but I would say there's definitely not the kind of attention to detail I would have appreciated being at this price point and for this kind of thing where attention to detail for wedding dresses is so important. Every time I've been there, there's been some brides trying on beautiful gowns, so it seems like they have a good selection of dresses if that's what you're in the market for!

I visited Novella bridal on a whim yesterday after having spent the day in the city. I had gone…read morebridal dress shopping twice previously, with two different entourages in two other cities, and I was feeling discouraged about what I wanted, and pleasing others. First of all, PLEASE make an appointment with them. They have a small staff, and are quite busy accommodating brides! I was incredibly lucky to be greeted by Seneca, who after listening to my sob story offered to squeeze me in for an afternoon appointment to try a couple sample dresses I'd seen listed on Stillwhite. She was such a sweetheart, and when I returned for my appointment, had the two dresses I'd requested pulled, as well as a few others of the similar style. Although I didn't have a group with me, Seneca was incredibly patient and supportive while I mulled over the dresses, and hyped me up to fall in love with my original vision. Some of the sample dresses being sold are quite affordable for the budget conscious bride which was a huge plus! Additionally, I've seen fantastic reviews about their in house alterations. Highly recommend whether you're lost in your wedding dress search, or if you want an exceptional experience picking exactly what you want!

She totally went above and beyond and guided us through every step of the process. We had to get several fittings done to ensure a proper fit. Needless to say, Amy is super meticulous. Although I hadn't even thought of it, she added a beautiful lace trim under the first layer of tulle, which delights me to no end. She also created a silk ribbon sash to tie around the waist of the skirt and some beautiful flowers made of silky material that can be pinned onto the skirt or a cute top to really tie the outfit together. The wreath is so delicate, made of white beads and lovely ribbon. I saw it on her blog, entitled Bride Chic, and I made a comment about how lovely I thought it was. She informed me that she still had the same wreath, and I immediately asked her about it. Needless to say, shortly thereafter it was mine. I love it! I cannot wait to wear my new, beautiful skirt and wreath. They will truly make me feel like a princess, on one of my special days or any day that I end up wearing them. Amy has a warmth and attention to detail that I absolutely adore, and I plan on working with her as often as I can to create beautiful new outfits to round out my wardrobe. Thank you Amy, with all of my heart.

Sarah completely understood my needs and was consultative, friendly and professional throughout the service. I came in with somewhat vague requirements, and Sarah helped me to arrive at a vision that I thought was really beautiful and appropriate to the occasion. Given the simplicity of the job, Sarah was able to complete the tailoring within 2 weeks, which I really appreciated! When I came to pick up the dress, Sarah was interested in my input and invested in making sure I loved the dress -- which I did! The price was absolutely reasonable as well. I'd highly recommend Sarah for any wedding dress alterations!

During my two times in her studio in SF, her services seemed to be in high demand, with other brides having appointments before and after mine, even during the lull of the pandemic. She was friendly an professional, and I highly recommend her for the alterations she did on my Lace & Liberty gown.
