J.Crew - I'm thinking it's got St. John vibes

Oh boy! Where do I begin? How about Candice and her odd behaviors. First time we did the dance of…read more"are you friendly " was when she came up asking if she can take loads of stuff I picked towards the counter. This way I can continue to shop. Hey...I am all about free hands to roam. So I said "SURE!" Her vibes were not exactly cool but I am not here to make friends so whatever. Well....here is the problem. Candice repeated about 4 times when she ringed me up that these items are "FINAL SALES!" Holy Hell Candice! I didn't know we are in that deep of relationship where before you insulting me. You haven't even given me a chance to do anything but feeling unwanted, unworthy of this purchase. I mean that is one smooth I am going to judge you without having so many words exchanged. To say it like either I don't understand English to maybe I am one of those Asian that like to buy sales shit and return it. I buy sales because my husband is recovering from cirrhosis, Candice! His clothes don't fit properly so sales clothes make it easier to have him in. Nice enough to wear while he is recovering but not too bad if he gained his weight back and I need to give it away. Attachment to clothing is not my taste and to be honest. Jcrew used to be better back in 2010. The value is decent and pretty reasonable for what it is. I will like to stated that she handed me my receipt with "Final Sales" to our departure last word. If you are not young, white and with privilege of looking expensive from daddy's credit cards. You are shit out of luck!

Amazing customer service by the manager and their team. I exchanged an item via mail back in Sept…read more2025 but never received a refund or the item. The item was sold out, hence why I never received it. I went into the store hoping they could handle the call for me with customer service. And they did just that while I shopped. I gave them the order number, and not only did they track it down, they were able to get me a $20 voucher without me having to ask. Lovely shopping experience.

James Perse - Who new, James is a deadhead!

Undoubtedly The worse James Perse store in the country. The customer service is zero. Not even…read moreclose to how it is at other stores. Specially the new hires are just not meeting the same bar. I usually don't bother to spend my time righting reviews but this one deserves it and now that I am at it I can clearly see why this store has a 2.5 score. As a regular James Perse customer both online and in store they don't didn't even ask my account info to pull the transaction record. My ask was just to get another size of a couple of t shirts and not even any refund. I actually went to the store to purchase more items along with this as I usually do, but the poor attitude of the new store workers was just repulsive. If the James Perse team is reading this, pls take notice that who you hire makes a big difference for your brand.

RE: High Price, Return Policy and uninterested/rude sales folks. My letter to them:…read more Dear Manager of James Perse Larkspur, I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding a recent return experience at your location in The Village at Corte Madera. I recently purchased $720.00 worth of brand new, full-price items from your store. When I attempted to return the items shortly thereafter, I was surprised to be informed that your location only offers in-store credit rather than a refund to the original form of payment. As a local resident, I make a point of shopping in person to support our community and the physical presence of brands I enjoy. However, this policy feels like a penalty for shopping locally for two specific reasons: Inconsistency with Neighbors: On the same day, I visited three other premium retailers within the same mall. All three honored a full refund to my credit card for similar returns. Inconsistency with JamesPerse.com: Your own corporate website offers a 30-day refund policy for online orders. It is discouraging that a "local supporter" who takes the time to visit your storefront is given fewer protections and less flexibility than someone shopping from their couch. For a partnership between a brand and its local community to work, it must be a "two-way street." At a $720 price point, I expect a level of service and flexibility that reflects the premium nature of the brand. A restrictive "credit-only" policy makes it difficult to justify returning to this location when competitors--and even your own website--offer a more customer-centric approach. I am requesting that you make an exception for this transaction and process a refund to my original credit card. I value the James Perse aesthetic, but I value fair and consistent business practices more. I look forward to your prompt response.
