I purchased a jacket from Eddie Bauer online. I noticed immediately that a lot of the feathers were coming out of the jacket. I thought this may be normal because it's brand new and that they will eventually stop coming out. They did not. I've had it for about three months and the feathers continue to come out. I washed it once according to the washing instructions in hopes this would solve the problem but it didn't. I contacted their customer service three times and they never responded. I went on their chat option on their website and expressed my concerns with the jacket. They were most unhelpful. They told me that I need to take it to an Eddie Bauer store but there isn't one anywhere near where I live. I purchased it online not at a store. They said it's been over 60 days since I purchased it so there is nothing they can do. I told them I have been trying to get in contact with them for weeks but nobody responded. They couldn't care less and said the best they could do is offer me 20% off which was about $12. What a joke. This jacket is obviously defective but they wouldn't do anything else for me. Their products are terrible quality, overpriced and they have horrible customer service. Don't order anything from them because you will be disappointed. read more

Wow I wished I'd have read Sharom S's one star review before trekking over there myself. My experience was identical re the snooty particularly unhelpful female manager and the overall frustration. REI nextdoor was hopping and this Eddie Bauer store was empty. Three employees and zero help to resolve my issue of having traveled a far way to return an un used coat only to be referred (with attitude) by the manager to drive an additional hour (round trip) to Petaluma. I have been an Eddie Bauer customer for over 25 years. Trying to deal with the sarcastic, rude manager and her minions at this store has put me off for good. They refuse to take returns, even before they had "technical" issues that prevented them from processing online returns. The manager at another store said the Corte Madera manager is well known for treating customers poorly. Yet she still remains. They will tell you at this store to drive to the Petaluma Outlet for returns. Ridiculous. REI will get ALL my business from now on. read more

Crappy customer service. It's unfortunate this is the closest location to San Francisco. Maybe if I was middle-aged I'd receive better service? Staff was rude and didn't want to be bothered with checking for sizes. I was ready to buy three down jackets. Not sure who was worse, the young teenager or the older woman with dark brown hair and possibly Hispanic. I'm going to cut the teenager some slack because she's still learning, but the older woman should know better. The older woman cut me off mid sentence so she can attend to someone else. This review pertains to an online order. At the time of the order something was wrong with the web site. I could place the order but no confirmation that it went through. Thinking I had messed up I tried again, same result. Also there was no confirmation email that either order was placed. I conatacted customer support and after a day was informed that both orders had been recieved. I ask that one be canceled. Was told that they would try but if not one could be returned. Also some excuse about warehouses being moved. Three weeks later both orders arive. I tried to return one and was informed that I would need to pay $7. Have tried contacting customer support, but no response to email. Tried calling and got some person trying to sell alert devices. Confirmed the number and tried again, same result. I tried to return to a local store, 17 miles away only to be told they would not take the return. I will never deal with this company again. read more

Purchased stuff online and went to store to return items that didn't fit. The cashier was stressed and discombobulated (there was only 1 other customer in the store) and accused me of returning heavily used stuff which it was not. She then said the whole return computer system was down which I don't blame her for but the rude accusation of returning used shit was not pleasant. I had a great experience while shopping at the Eddie Bauer store in the Danbury Fair Mall in CT. I went with a coat I wanted to get a new size in, but I couldn't find it. I asked for help and Baxter, the manager I think, was so very kind and helpful. He went above and beyond finding me a very similar coat and also found the exact coat online to order off the web. I truly think Baxter was the nicest, most patient and helpful salesperson I've ever encountered while shopping! Plus, there was a great sale that day and I was really happy with the price! read more

The staff at this location is awful. They fight tooth and nail to not take returns and are some of the most rude staff I've dealt with. The manager is probably the worst with her constant attitude. I've always tried to be understanding towards retail staff after having worked retail myself, but these people all need to be fired and find a job they don't hate so much. read more

When is a corporate chain store like a small-town shop? Well, here and now at Corte Madera's Town Center. That's when. I usually don't write about retail stores, I just go to so many over time. But at Eddie Bauer's Corte Madera location the staff if so helpful and cheerful that it was noticeable to me over the course of three or four trips. I've signed up for the rewards program on EddieBauer.com and found that they send me $off coupons that encourage me to stop by and see what's on the sale rack, where you can use those coupons, which really helps ease the guilt of shopping. We have found the service to be very engaging and helpful each time we've been in. Jayne and Jolita work as a team to find what we need, show us the item's on sale, and get us checked out; coupons and all! Last week I stopped in and found 11 things I wanted to buy. I asked Jayne to put them aside until later that day so I could return with my partner to get his opinion and permission to buy. We returned after work hours to find our items marked as "hold" and set aside. We deliberated, and bought five of the eleven. Us buying less than half of them was no worry for them. We even got some feminine opinions on style from Jayne and Jolita, which made our shopping more confident. Finally, lemme say that you should not be put off by Eddie Bauer's reputation for higher price point. The products themselves are of great quality and they stand behind them. They have great revolving specials, and sale items that make for a shopping adventure. Stop in here at the Corte Madera store, look around, check out the sale items, and join their on-line "club"; it comes with those coupons and special discounts, too. read more

The looks you'll get walking into this store are weird, strange and unwelcome. No "hello", No "welcome" nothing! The two middle age woman working there on 8/2/18 at 1:11pm are pretty rude. The cashier named Jayne seemed pretty sarcastic, but her co-worker who I didn't get her name was the worst or the worst. I had to explained to her that I was a paying customer, because as walked in all she did was stared at me as if I was panhandling, all because I was wearing hiking clothes as I just had come back from hiking. I would say, Eddie got it wrong by employing people like her. I wouldn't be surprised if both of them were under the influence, all i know is that she can be pretty racist and very judgy. I hope the manager sees this review. Questions her about what she did, which I'm very sure she'll remember as she even had the idiocy to say that she was "sorry" for looking at paying customer as if we were panhandling. read more

One thing I've always liked about Eddie Bauer is the lifetime warranty on their products. I also really like their Guide Pro pants. I have 6 pairs and they're pretty much the only pants I wear, hiking and everyday use. Today I tried to return a pair to the Corte Madera store because the zipper had separated, making the pants useless. These were purchased when the lifetime warranty was in effect. No dice. The rather snotty clerk said "We've changed our policy." End of discussion. And end of my patronage of this store. read more

Great store with really outstanding items. This location in Corte Madera is a nice size which carries a great deal of their clothing and branded products. What I really love about it is that every time you go, they always have something I want on sale. Pretty amazing values to be had here. Their outdoor gear is hard to beat, both in quality and versatility. It really holds up well too. Their employees are well trained and have been super helpful every time I've been in and able to answer every question I've had about one of their products. Pretty impressive these days. The location of the store however is a little tricky. It's towards the north end of the Town Center Plaza where's it fairly quite. I've ran into several people just walking through the plaza that have stopped me to ask if I know where it's at. Overall, EB is a great brand and this location does a nice job of representing it. read more

Good customer service with a decent selection. I went here recently to return a bunch of winter coats I got online. We ended up buying a bunch of other stuff on sale. If you like being treated like a criminal first- instead of a customer, go there. I was told the first time I went in about all of their thefts and a ring apparently that was hitting the various stores. When I went back in to return and buy something new, I was treated as one of those criminals. The women that took our money last time and told us the story, acted as is she had never seen me, I said remember me, she just glanced and a yeah came out (I was just there 2 days before) and didn't wait on me, she was doing some pricing or something behind the very counter I was waiting in line for. Then a guy helped me, and it took forever as he was keying in numbers wrong or something, then a guy helped him and the transaction was completed. He came around the counter, inserting my new purchase in the bag I brought in with the return in it and was now empty. He startled me, as he looked into my bag, sneeky like, it was just weird. To make sure I wasn't stealing I am sure! The women that signed us up for a credit card the first time, barely looked up. I left feeling creeped out. The whole experience was a bad one. I will never go back, even though 40% off! Sticking to Amazon or other online shopping. Btw, Amazon had the same exact item I bought in the store at 40% off, for that price, already 40% off.
