The last few times I've had something mended, I got sticker shock when handing over my credit card, but quickly forgot about it. I just went in to have my daughter's prom dress hemmed and a taken in just a bit at the back. She charged me $118 up front. Again, sticker shock. When I looked at the receipt, one of the up charges was that she was charging me for a dress with a liner. This dress has a liner but the liner didn't need to be hemmed because it is much shorter than the rest of the dress. I went back in and asked to have the dress back and a refund. I then took it to Lily's on 4th street in San Rafael and she charged me $80 for the same adjustments to the dress and told me I didn't need to pay until I pick up. Just sayin.
