As you may know if you follow my reviews on Thrift stores, I am a reseller, so please remember that all my reviews of thrift stores are given from that perspective, which may differ from the ordinary shoppers perspective. Marin is the Mecca if you are either an ordinary shopper or a reseller in the high-end resale market this is a fabulous cause as well. They dress people who are looking for a new start and help them get professional clothes to go to interviews and such. The donations for the store come from very nice and wealthy donors in San Francisco and other areas of Marin County. The prices here are amazing. I mostly shop for myself but occasionally find something well enough price that I could resell it. They have a five dollar rack where they put everything that hasn't sold in two months. I found some amazing things on that rack today. I also bought myself some lovely things spent more than five dollars of course but not anywhere near the actual value of these designer pieces if you are anywhere near this place, you must stop by and support this wonderful cause. read more

**November 2022: Weekday Afternoon Visit** My friend and I were visiting the San Rafael area and found this second-hand shop through our Yelp search. We had visited a couple of others in the area, but this shop had the best currated items that made it feel more like a boutique than a thrift shop. The mens' section was pretty sparse, but the woman's section had a great assortment of pants, skirts, tops, coats, dresses etc. Prices were very fair, and the selection did tend to lean for an older clientele, but it's a good place to check out for some fun pieces. On my visit I got a what looked to be a new or like-new blue London Fog coat that I plan to wear for my upcoming winter vacation. For $14 I think this is a great find! read more

I went on Saturday with a friend from out of town, we made it approximately 30 minutes before closing. I was very impressed with the quality of the clothes! I found a gorgeous cashmere sweater ($24) a Vince Camuto metallic dress ($16) a cosy sweater short sleeved sweater dress with matching sleeves ($14) an immaculate Mark Jacobs Italian leather handbag ($40) and a gorgeous semi precious bracelet and costume jewelry necklace ($14 each). These prices are less than half they would be listed for used online. In fact the bag was less than a third of the second hand online price and a tenth of its original cost! There is no way I would be able to afford such luxury to buy from elsewhere. My friend was equally happy she found two designer dresses for ($12 each) a pair of knee high leatherette boots ($20) plus a gorgeous skirt I forget the price. The next day she told me she wants to go back next time she's in town and that she was so happy to have found such treasures. Even though we were the last out of the store and cut it close to closing time the staff and store manager were super friendly and helpful. I have had a lot of compliments on my new clothes and are spreading the word about Bloom. Such a valuable organization who help empower people. Now I know the best place to donate professional quality clothes and shoes too. Thank you! read more

I can attest they curate everything that goes into the store, so the quality is exceptional. (Anything with a flaw that's still decent goes on their $5 racks), and no store can beat their prices for what you get. They are constantly putting new clothes in the store daily. Great jewelry and accessories, too. Like all thrift stores it's going to be hit or miss depending on the day, so you have to visit often. They have daily and weekly customers. Stuff for every age, gender and style. The review that said things didn't fit means the buyer didn't try on purchases, they have dressing rooms, and the teenager who found nothing is an exception. The store helps cover the overhead to run their incredible charitable operations (as part of the YWCA.). If you're a dedicated thrifter, it's a must! Also, they don't have a website, but follow them on Instagram for special sale notices and pics of their cool stuff. read more

Very small thrift store, where all proceeds go directly to a mission-driven non-profit supporting men and women trying to get back on their feet, including women who are victims of domestic abuse. The mission of the organization, and the volunteers working here are simply the best. The items here include designer pieces, and some mainstream items (from Betsy Johnson to Chicos, and everything in between.) The shop is very small, the selection limited, and the place is spotlessly clean. The staff & business is wonderfully mission driven. A nice place to donate your designer items, if you are someone more invested in improving your community, than getting top dollar in consignment for designer clothing. You can rest assured that all donations are going to support a good cause. I have found a few items here, but from a shoppers perspective, it can be hit or miss. read more

Terrible experience. Do not come here. When my boyfriend and I walked in, neither of the two ladies working said anything to us. We then proceeded to the back of the store since the door was open and we saw more clothes, then one lady rudely told us that we weren't allowed back there. You MUST come here. It's always a successful treasure hunt in this clean, well designed, second "chance" thrift store. Jewelry, shoes, handbags, scarves, small men's wear section and lots of women's clothing.--everything from evening wear and suits to activewear and jackets and everything in between. Oh and did I mention the prices are amazing? Cashmere sweater for $12, yes please. Kate spade shoes for $16, thank you. And the ultimate bonus, it's a non profit that helps individuals with transitions back into the workforce with great clothing and other skills. Retail therapy for the good of our community? This is a wonderful shop filled with thoughtfully curated clothing. The salespeople were helpful too! The only - weird - thing about the place is that when I attempted to contact the Bloom volunteer coordinator and other Bloom personal about making a monetary donation & volunteering, no one responded. I left three voicemails and sent three emails (one to the entire team in hopes of getting someone to respond) and even checked in at the shop one more time - then gave up. So, that was disappointing, but not so much that I won't visit the shop again. ***Update*** The director did get in touch with me after sending a letter to the Team (which I then missed in my inbox *eye roll*). Stopped in spontaneously as a friend of mine loves this place. I browsed and tried on a few pieces. I selected a scarf which wasn't priced. When I asked for the cost, I was quoted a price. However, when I was ready to pay another lady was behind the counter and she doubled the quoted price. When I pointed out this discrepancy, she had a rude attitude and insisted her price was the correct one. It seems she is the manager or owner, as the other person working there deferred to her. If her employee misquoted a price, she should have honored it and spoken to her employee in private to correct it going forward. Unfriendly and unprofessional way of handling something so small. It didn't sit well as a customer and I felt bad for her employee who seemed afraid to make another mistake. One of the other pieces I was interested in had two small holes, when I pointed this out the same lady was inflexible on the price and again, attitude...giving me some line that the tag was already marked down, when it clearly wasn't. I love second hand, vintage shops and was excited to find some nice pieces, but I don't like being lied to. The attitude by the shop manager/owner leaves everything to be desired and I'll hesitate to go back. I like the mission of the shop, but still recommend skipping this spot. A friend from church suggested that I reach out to this store to make a donation. I spoke to a sales associate, first letter, C. I self-identified as blind and unable to drive. I had hoped that someone working at the store would be willing to drop by my home, near a freeway, to pick up professional clothing in excellent condition. The sales associate became hostile and literally hung up on me. Needless to say, I wont donate or shop at this store. Decency goes a long way. read more

I've purchased, donated and was a client of Bloom's services. It's one of the stores you have to frequent because, they are so popular the good finds go fast. In Marin, you can't beat their prices! This store is a goldmine and the clothing is very carefully vetted. They get really good donations because of their reputation within the community and their mission to help Women and families in need. The staff are extremely dedicated and caring. Last winter, I used their services through our local YWCA 50+ job search program. I'd outgrown my business clothing and needed some pieces for job hunting. I was extremely humbled by their generous services. PLEASE also donate to this wonderful organization. They accept clothing in good condition for women, children and men. Wonderful shop! Clean, organized, nice and HELPFUL, friendly sales people. I needed green items for a party and found an entire very cute outfit, including jewelry. I love to pop in for a quick run through and find a good variety of items for business and play. Pricier than Goodwill but much better quality and organization - worth it. Not as pricey as a consignment shop. These aren't even good comparisons. It's also not too big - manageable for a quick stop. They will often hold things for a day. Good sales too! What a hidden gem! Not only is Bloom a great non profit that is funding a wonderful program helping families transition in life. I have found brand new designer items with tags on, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Karl Lagerfield, coach, Pikolino, Tahari, Jones of New York, Cole Haan and many others more high end. Great to find a vintage piece or an accessory, handbags, jewlwry, shoes and some menswear too. I purchased a vintage brass button blazer that I could not find anywhere else. I heard about Bloom recently and stopped in for a look last Monday. I was so excited to find a perfect-fitting pair of GAP jeans, a pair of grey dress/work pants and a purse that was a perfect light, neutral color! Diane was very helpful and patient when I tried on just about everything in my size in the store! (I like to see things on and am not a great candidate for online clothes shopping.) I definitely plan to return soon. I signed up for their mailing list and look forward to hearing about their up-coming sales. My goodness, what a gem of a store! I needed a suit or something nicer for a job interview and saw them online, called and the woman said "come on down" boy am I glad I did. It looks nothing like a thrift store, more like an upscale boutique. Well laid out and so much to choose from. I started looking on my own, then one of the volunteers stepped in and it was like magic! She pulled things for me I hadn't seen, or passed over because I didn't think it would work. I got an amazing stylist to help me! I ended up with a Christian Dior knit blazer (16$) an Escada blazer (12$) and an Armani blazer (14$) plus a Coach purse and an armload of other gorgeous gorgeous things. The most amazing part was the entire store is half off this week! I wish I had more time, I really cannot wait to return. Their business is amazing, they clothe women and kids who are needing a second chance and help them with starting over. They are all volunteers! I am just blown away there is a place like this, and I'm grateful that I can support them. I will never donate my clothes to goodwill again, this is the place to give your great clothes that "just don't" fit anymore. Life is about paying it forward, this is the shop to shop. Whenever I am in the neighborhood (downtown San Rafael) I try to swing by and check out what this shop has on the racks. I love a good bargain, especially for designer goods. That aside, the shop is a non-profit that donates a full wardrobe of professional/business attire to those who need it. Which is totally awesome and eases my guilt for fancy things. The only negative thing is the on street parking with meters at this location. I've returned since my original visit in June and like all the little treasures found...I know I'd be back more often if the parking was better. Just happened to be in the neighborhood when the store was having a half off everything sale. There were lots of good deals, and lots of different items: clothes, bathing suits, athletic wear, shoes, ties, belts, purses, jewelry, etc. I got a pullover sweatshirt a la Lululemon (knock off) for $7. Husband got a pair of men's dress shoes for $7, which cost upwards of $250 retail. SCORE! Would love to be on the email list for this store, but can't seem to find one. Help? read more

My niece had an appointment, I can't remember her name, but the lady was sweet I felt like I was at any other store where the sales person asks what you like and when my niece was trying on clothes she brought over some items she thought my niece might like.
