I had a great time at this thrift shop. Everyone who volunteered was a delight, and the prices are very reasonable

Marin is the Mecca if you are either an ordinary shopper or a reseller in the high-end resale market this is a fabulous cause as well. They dress people who are looking for a new start and help them get professional clothes to go to interviews and such. The donations for the store come from very nice and wealthy donors in San Francisco and other areas of Marin County. The prices here are amazing. I mostly shop for myself but occasionally find something well enough price that I could resell it. They have a five dollar rack where they put everything that hasn't sold in two months. I found some amazing things on that rack today. I also bought myself some lovely things spent more than five dollars of course but not anywhere near the actual value of these designer pieces if you are anywhere near this place, you must stop by and support this wonderful cause.

I too am a very disgruntled customer. Back in February…read moreweeks before covid I was in the process of moving and had a carload of high end designer clothing that I took in to consign, Bridgette was estatic seeing all the beautiful pieces she said would sell easily if not in the store she would post on line in her Poshmark store. We counted over 80 pieces of evening gowns ,cashmere coat, designer hats , dresses many high - end pieces . The owner Bridgette was so delighted and not to worry she would send an itemized list of everything I left entrusted to her. WRONG DECISION on my part . Covid started a few weeks after and I let a few months go by hearing she had lost her son and knowing she wasn't open due to covid , I reached out in emails ,numerous phone calls & texts, to no avail. Meanwhile my husband died tragically in late August of same year(my witness who unloaded all the clothes initially). Needless to say I was in seclusion for 6 mons.or so mourning my loss. Several times over the last 3 years I've reached out asking for the itemized list and was told she had gave it to me . She hadn't done so ,she had the list confused with the prior lot I dropped off which did indeed I did relieve that list and got paid a couple of checks. She continually had lied and said she had sent an itemized list of the most recent drop off. She has conti ued to shine me on and when I went in earlier this week she said she had nothing and didn't owe me anything!!! I AM LIVID TO SAY THE LEAST !!! She has outright stolen over roughly $5000 worth of my belongings!!! She is a dishonest store owner. I consign at various stores in Marin and still have wonderful repore with all 6 consignment stores I work with here in Marin EXCEPT FOR SUGAR NEVER, NEVER have I run into such dishonest thievery from a business owner. Besides the fact she REEKED of ALCOHOL & had so much pastey makeup on . Forgetful, unprofessional and dishonest business owner . I see I am not the only upset customer that she has ripped off !!! She steals from people like you and I in order to profit from her unsuccessful business. She'll STEAL from you too. Beware, forewarned.

Clothes all over the ground, every single isle, while also being kicked around cleaning their filthy floors. Even more staff today and still a mess? Too many staff trying to look busy. Everything's kind of mushed together as far as all the different types of clothing. Anything somewhat decent way over priced. A very small glass Tupperware container $7.99? It's not a nice thrift store at all anymore. Hire staff that actually work. Huge line while three staff are teaching a new person to use the one other register? The comment from SA about my complaint, didn't match my concerns at all?? Weird as if they didn't read it at all? This place is an overpriced junk store. Why so many clothes on the ground every time I've gone. I'm always hoping they'll clean up a bit, but it just gets worse! It's for a good cause, but you'd make more of a profit if it wasn't so junky and dirty! This store has all new staff, but it's the worst it's ever been!

The employees never say anything in particular but they look beaten down and it's clear the management is either creating or tolerating some negative environment. The turnover for employees is fast! The housewares section is dismal, very overprice. I agree it seems the good things must be being sold to pickers on the side or sent elsewhere. This is a wealthy area yet what comes in is generally very worn or low quality. Organization has gone downhill and racks are stuffed in there now. No decor and it seems dirty. It's my last choice these days.

Happy Earth Day 2026!…read more If you're a data driven person like me, you know or will look up the tons of clothing that are polluting the planet. Solution? Resell or donate the things you no longer find useful, no longer want, and/or no longer bring you joy. The beauty of being a stylish woman? Someone out there wants the things I don't. They really REALLY do. Create space in your wardrobe and jewelry box, get some cash in your bank account, it's all good. Reaching out to The RealReal to start your consignment has never been easier. Once you contact a representative, they can send someone to you home, send a truck to do a front door pickup, or email you a label to ship the items you want to sell. So convenient! Once they receive the items, you will receive notification. They will have their experts review the items authenticity, photograph them, and list them. You will get a link to watch your items as they launch and sell. The cash lands in the account of your choice. Your beautiful things are now someone elses beautiful things with renewed positive energy. It's all so very wonderful and you saved those things from clogging the landfills and littering the planet. Since I had missed the return window, I listed them on Facebook Marketplace--only for the listing to be immediately flagged as fake. That raised a red flag, so I took the shoes to a well-respected designer consignment store in San Francisco. Their authentication expert pointed out three separate signs that the shoes were not genuine. So, not real real after all. When I took the shoes to The RealReal in Larkspur, I was directed to a text-based chat with a "specialist" who told me that because the return window had passed, there was nothing they could do. I'm now out over $400 for two pairs ( one with a broken heel that they said I should have come in right away about). Extremely disappointed. A company that claims to care about luxury and sustainability should at the very least stand behind the authenticity of what it sells. This experience makes me seriously question their values.
