With eclectic home-oriented merchandise from France, Turkey, and Ecuador, you are bound to find something delightful in this shop. From hand painted lead-free ceramic Turkish mugs, to alpaca woven Ecuadorian blankets. The blanket was roughly $125- was seduced by its magical colors and failed to evaluate the price. Did purchase one and LOVE it! It's soooo warm and beautiful. There is also a selection of international foods. Couldn't resist the raspberry French pastels. Yum. The store has French oil table cloths and colorful fabric table cloths. Pillows with fun designs and a number of other unique gift options. I have been shopping at Coquelicot for years and have most definately never been disappointed in this beautiful family owned business . Nuria the owner, her husband Norm and sister Adriana run the show so to speak, and if one is lucky, Montsi their mother work be working. The merchandise is beautiful and the wrapping is so pretty . Often times I will buy a gift for myself and get it wrapped just to be able to look at it for a few days. I'm middle income; sometimes I can spend more ; sometimes not. But it doesn't matter here . I get the same friendly customer service regardless. Coguelicot has something for every budget. It's my go to place for hostess gifts or Just little gifts for a coworkers birthday. Every gift I have ever given someone from there is so well received and always a beautiful presentation. I read some of the other reviews and I need to comment on something that stood out regarding their return policy. One can exchange in 10 days (not having been used ) which is more than fair for a small business. I am a former employee at Nordstrom Corte Madera, and they will take anything back and everyone reading this knows that. Items are worn, re-tagged and returned. It's unbelievable the returns and yes, Nordstrom is a big business. But these items are never up for resale. So it's a loss for them as well to the point of closing their flagship store on Market Street in San Francisco. Because of seeing so much of this , I don't return anything anywhere. So in order for there to be beautiful not generic small business stores, there has to be some sort of policy or else we would kill the foundation of the Country which was built on small business. I mean it's just a cute handbag , scarf , tablecloth. One is not buying a home. For those that have a hard time making a decision, keep this in mind. It makes it much easier. Will always sop here. I'm such a sucker for signage. When I see a cute sign (like Coquelicot has above their door) I have to go in. I'm like one of the kids in Hamelin if the Pied Piper had attractive fonts. Anyway... I stopped in here this weekend and was impressed by their collection of vintagey French chandeliers. Very chic and unique. My mom was tres impressed with their small bouquets of lavender that actually came from Provence. The two women who worked here were very personable. read more

We visited the new Coquelicot in San Anselmo this last weekend, and while chatting with the owner we realized that: 1) We've been shopping at various Coquelicots (Fairfax, Larkspur, and now San Anselmo) for 16 or 17 years. 2) We registered with them for our wedding 14 years ago, but now that we have kids we've gone from shopping for ceramics and linens to plastic ware. Ah, how priorities change over the years. Ironically we just came back from Paris and London, where we had unsuccessfully searched for nice plastic ware (seriously, it was one of our goals; sad I know). Our second week back home and we find exactly what we're looking for at Coquelicot. Our home is full of their ceramics and linens; we've always loved the beauty and quality of their products. And visiting them always reminds me of shopping in France; they greet you warmly and then leave you alone, but are always available to lend their considerable expertise and knowledge. The owner and her husband spend a lot of time in France, and in addition to knowing the products and in some cases the artisans who create them, it's also fun to compare travel and cultural notes with them. Seriously though - my friend brought in a very overpriced salad bowl that had been promoted as "unbreakable" - which was broken. Through normal use. The very serious and unsympathetic salesperson was fine with saying "non" and with no recourse other to answer our own question as to an appropriate glue, delivered her negative reaction w straight callousness. No human connection here. She did offer to sell us another, breakable ceramic bowl, however. "Happy Holidays!" She said, as we left this little piece of France behind... read more

I finally walked into this little shop in historic Larkspur after a beautiful old-fashioned water jug in the window (priced at $32) pulled me into the store. I hadn't walked in because I thought it would be too expensive and too beautiful. The latter is the truth. The store has gorgeous things - all affordable and French! Very French in the best way possible. Quilts, linens, vintage treasures and home decor fit to stage any magazine - all unbelievably affordable (cheaper than Crate & Barrel prices) It is family-run and very friendly and welcoming. I can't wait to visit again. You should too. It's worth the 20 minute ride from San Francisco. read more

This is a delightful store. It sells products from Provence in France and specializes in dishware and table ware such as napkins and table cloths. I love to get presents from this shop and it is the one shop my husband absolutely loves to shop in . I can usually count on great gifts from here for birthdays and Christmas. This year I got two wonderful plates and a gorgeous bowl and six red water glasses with a fleur de lis on them . This shop has items you will not find in other stores selling items from Provence. They also have great soaps, some books about or concerning Provence. They have a few items of jewelry from Paris and some really clever little handbags. In the first weekend of May every year they have a wonderful yard sale. It opens at 8 am and I have gone there at 8 and there is already a good sized line. Go with a friend who can hop across the street and get pastries and coffees to go from Rulli and enjoy the buzz. I also have gone later in the day with no lines, and found things I wanted although the large earthenware items usually are gone fast. Great Store, Nice owners and wonderful selection. Ask for your item to be gift wrapped. It will be done with great ribbons and some little coquelicots (a poppy like flower that grows all over France in the springtime) read more

Colorful textiles, glassware, dishes, etc. In my limited experience (less than ten visits), sometimes there's a friendly exchange, sometimes not, but I don't mind because I really do appreciate the transporting nature of the experience of being in this shop. I love to stop in a for a "loveliness" hit - always something fresh and unexpected. I have bought so many things here that adorn my home and I love each and every one of them. I also found some terribly chic Parisian-made necklaces that I have gotten at least 100 compliments on - they are so unique that people literraly stop me on the street to ask me about them. I love the products in this store, they are beautiful and I have been going here for years. I have spent more money in this store than than any other store in Marin, however, I am writing this to tell consumers that if you purchase a product that ends up not lasting, do not bother trying to talk to the owner she will not listen! This is not my opinion alone, so many of my friends refuse to do business with her as she is incredibly nice for the purchase part and completely rude for the customer service/ I think I have a problem part. Just realize that when you walk out of that store, that product is yours for better or for worse. The owner will not even listen to any complaints, she basically has zero customer service for a problem situation. I bought an entire set of beautiful plates, platter, bowls and cups, that in a very short amount of time is starting to chip. Her response was first that we were obviously treating them roughly, secondly that the amount of money we spent was something that she sees every day, and thirdly if we wanted to buy more to replace the damaged goods there were plenty there still left in the store. Not for a second would she listen to my side, and people stopped me out of the store and said they have also had lots of attitude from her. It is a shame, like I said the products are beautiful, but the customer service is non existent. Shop for these lovely products with caution, you may not bring anything back! read more
