The person at the register at mid-day on 11-1-2021 was extremely unprofessional and hostile. I came to order food and looked at him for 20 seconds with no greeting; the cashier just kept playing on his phone. He couldn't be bothered to tell me that I should enter my order on the tablet. Also, after I waited for my food he looked at me for 10 seconds in silence, then I told him my order, then he said I have a lot of those orders you should have given me your name instead. I was really craving wings and was excited to try this place. I believe we ordered large of both the sweet and spicy and house special flavors, but due to convenience and since we were taking it to go, we decided to go boneless. We also go mac salad and fries as our side. The wings took a long time to get prepared and we were able to wait at a table in the full food court (we came on a weekday night). Perhaps eating the wings on the spot instead of taking it to go and going against convenience and tried and true might have been better. The flavor for the wings were good and they were moist and though they were tasty, I didnt' think the flavors were memorable compared to other korean/ asian wings in the bay. Perhaps if we ate them there, they would've been crispier as well. The fries were ordinary but crispy, so they were a nice complement to the saucy wings. the mac salad was so disappointing that i threw it out after 3 bites (i hate wasting food), but it was so watery and lacked flavor i didnt want to force myself to eat it when there were a lot more wings to eat! i think i will have to try this place again, but must eat there and must stick to the tried and true bone in wings! read more

Waited 25 minutes for my Large order of bone-in half original/half sweet & spicy. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experiece. Flavor and crispness of the chicken was good, but there wasn't any meat! We got spines, ribs, kiel bone and odd joint pieces--not a single wing, thigh or meaty bit in the entire order. Maybe the use all the standard cuts for the boneless and save the rest for bone in? It's defintely that--battered fried bones. This isn't representative of other Korean fried chicken that I've had. The service for this restaurant was excellent! During a breakdown on their ordering system, the staff took down orders and kept business running seamlessly. I was impressed by the speed an efficiency of the restaurant even during a hiccup in technology. The food was fantastic. I ordered the half & half chili soy garlic with the sweet and spicy boneless chicken. I also ordered the original chicken rice bowl. The strong flavors had me savoring each bite! We enjoy Korean fried chicken and saw this place while visiting H-Mart. From the name of the place, "Left Wing", we expected to have actual wings. However, you would be surprised. There was the boneless option which I was told would be thigh meat. The there was the bone in option which we chose since this was "Left Wing". It seems odd that they would cut the wing pieces into parts but if it was wing pieces and taste good, that would be ok. We got the garlic soy bone in chicken. The flavor was ok, but could be better. What surprised us was that the bone in pieces included rib cage pieces, neck pieces, cartilage pieces, and some meat pieces. I could not tell if there were any wing pieces as all the pieces were in chunks with batter. In addition, there were bone shards and fragments in the batter. Why would anyone not remove the bone fragments before frying the chicken? Seems like the chicken pieces were chopped up and then dumped into batter and then fried. Would you at home do the same and serve your family bone fragments in your fried chicken or any sort of chicken? Would anyone enjoy eating a piece of rib cage with no meat and just batter or crunch on a bone fragment and think they just chipped a tooth? I have had Korean fried chicken that have actual wings, drumettes, even whole or half fried chicken either plain or with different flavor sauces that are much better without bone fragments. There are several very good places with good KFC (Korean restaurants and Korean grocery stores) around the north bay. This place is such a disappointment. 2 stars for the flavor and zero stars (averaging down to one star) for bone shards, bone fragments, rib cage without meat but lots of batter, and neck piece with batter. How much meat is in the neck piece or rib cage bone? We were going to get fries as a side for $1 more but glad we did not as they did not look good at the next table and as confirmed by some of the reviews here that they were cold and limp when they got them. The menu description for bone in should be clear and say chopped pieces of chicken parts in various sizes and mostly not wing pieces. If you got boneless because they ran out of bone in, you were lucky. Agreed with the review that said "Left Wing can't even make a Right Wing." Well, how can they make a "right wing" when wings are "left out" and you may be getting only a wing chunk or two with the rest of the chopped up chicken pieces. read more

We were excited to go H Mart so we also picked up lunch while shopping. From reading the reviews, we decided to divide and conquer. My hubby ordered food while I was shopping so by the time I was done the food was ready for pick up. I would say it took about 15-20 mins and it's a weekday at 11:00am so plan your trip ahead of time. As for the food, we ordered the large boneless with 3 flavors - original, chili soy garlic and honey garlic with pickled radish and French fries. We brought the food home - it's about 15 mins away - chicken was moist and had a nice crunch. My favorite is the chili soy garlic while my son loves the honey garlic. The best part is boneless so no need to make my hands dirty. I would definitely to come back and will get rice as one of the sides. Quite possibly the best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had, and that is saying a lot, as I have had many. Thank you to the incredibly kind cashier who also seems to maybe be the chef and owner? This tiny stand at H-Mart may be my new go-to when I'm craving some amazing fried chicken. The price was incredibly reasonable, the flavors were outstanding, the wait time was accurate and reasonable, and they were kind enough to customize my order so it wasn't too spicy (don't get me wrong-- I LOVE spicy food, but lately my body cannot handle it). We waited 55 minutes to get our order. It turned out they made a mistake and didn't put in our order. It was upsetting to see all these numbers that came after us get served, while we waited and waited. The owner didn't know what went wrong, so that means it can happen again since they don't have measures in place to prevent mistakes like that. We ordered from Left Wing 3 times so far and every time they are a lot slower than the other eateries in the food court. The long wait is not what one would expect from a food court.  The wings tasted the best within the first few minutes of getting the order. The first order was a large 3 item combo of wings with bone-in. I would not get this again. It was mainly tiny chicken wing joints with no meat. Also, it was full of little bone chips. Original flavor is usually a business' signature recipe but Left Wing's original flavor should be called boringly plain instead. It also took a very long time to get our order, but was told bone-in takes longer. The second time, we ordered boneless. I asked my kid to place the order because no carts from HMart were allowed. When I went to meet her, she said original flavor has to be one of the 3 flavors. I went up to the counter to change our order because the menu board specifically says that "you can pick up to three flavors". The cashier says original has to be one of the flavors, even though that is not what the menu board says. She was going to make an "exception" but a guy runs out of the kitchen and says nothing can be done because that is corporate policy. If corporate policy is to use false and misleading information, then you lost me as a customer. Besides Wing Stop is way better. read more

I was excited to try the fried chicken at Left Wing and recently ordered online on a weekday for pick-up a little after 3pm. This was a MUCH better experience than my first time. I arrived on time, there was no one in line, and my order was waiting for me. My online order was 1 large fried chicken (1-2 flavors) but somehow, I could only order 1 flavor and was forced to order a side dish. Not a big deal for me as I only wanted 1 flavor and I wasn't sad about ordering another side but seems like a glitch. The chicken portions were a good size with a variety of pieces. They weren't crunchy, but is it supposed to be crunchy after being coated with sauce? I was very happy with my order and everyone who ate the chicken enjoyed the (sweet and spicy) flavor.
