My daughter and her friends went for lunch today. The place was empty and they waited 45 minutes for their food. They left a $2.00 tip because the service was bad. The hostess told them they did not leave enough tip and they could not leave until they gave more money!!!! Are you kidding!!!! The girls asked how much more do you want, she said $4.00 more dollars. This is my go-to sushi spot in Wayne- it's definitely the best in town. My most recent trip was this past Saturday. Came in with my boyfriend and we weren't quite sure what to order, so we went with the Chef's Special for 2 rolls and one of the Korean beef & noodle soups (cant remember the name), which had a great broth and was overall delicious. For the Chefs Special rolls, they just make whatever they're into that night and you get an awesome sushi surprise. We requested tuna and salmon, and loooved both rolls. The salmon one came on top of a shrimp tempura roll with black roe and spicy mayo ... the tuna one was filled with spicy tuna, topped with more tuna, jalapeno slices and sriracha. We've done this on other occasions and the rolls always come out great so I highly recommend it. My other favorite thing to order is the sashimi special- they have different sizes depending on how many people are sharing and it comes with soup and salad for every person. Also really love the complimentary seaweed salad and spicy rice in a seashell that everyone gets. Not a huge fan of the yogurt they give you at the end, but its a nice touch. Also, Lee's is a BYO and there's a liquor store next door. Its slightly above average pricing for sushi in the area but generally worth it. The one thing I don't recommend is takeout from here because you end up paying for all those nice comp'ed things that you don't actually get when you order to-go. read more

I stopped in last Saturday night for some dinner with a group of friends and found myself questioning why I don't come here more often. We were a group of 5 and brought a few bottles of wine which the servers promptly opened and provided glasses for. 4 of us decided to share the Lee 4 combination which was 20 pieces of nigiri sushi, 30 pieces of sashimi, a california roll, and a spicy tuna roll. We also shared a rainbow roll which was a spicy tuna roll wrapped in slices of tuna, salmon, and avocado. I'm not crazy for the rolls but they were good if that's your thing. The nigiri and sashimi was excellent and sliced just right. I'm still thinking about the fatty tuna right now. Another person at our table got the galbi (korean bbq short-rib platter). I tried a piece and let's just say I know what I want next time. The complimentary wakame salad was very good too. Service was very polite, quick, and accomodating: they even put the knicks-heat game on at our request and let us stick around to see the end of the game and finish our wine. read more

Not much to say. I stopped in here because I was hungry. One of the sushi chefs was apparently sick. He was sniffling and wiping his nose on his sleeve constantly. I tried to ignore it. He then bent down so no one could see and was blowing his nose behind the counter. The worse part was that he repeatedly took off one of his latex gloves to work. I saw that and it kind of made me wonder what else is allowed to occur here. The bathroom was worse than most gas station bathrooms. For a guy, it's pretty bad if your grossed out just standing doing #1. There were also carts of dishes stored directly outside the bathroom door. WTF? The food might have tasted better to me had I not lost my appetite. I do not yelp. This is my first. I felt strongly enough to sign up and post this because I almost got up and walked out. I have nothing against the people who own the place. But it's really important to send sick workers home. People do notice. Bathroom are tough to keep clean with so many people using them. But you have to keep up on that or you leave a bad impression. Is the kitchen like that too? read more

I've been here a couple of times over the past eight years. It's a nice place to come and fix a sushi craving when it hits hard, but I wouldn't consider it the best. After working at two different sushi restaurants over the span of three years, I've come to know what good-quality sushi and sashimi are supposed to taste like. With Lee's, it's a hit or miss. For the first couple of times I ate at the establishment, I really had no opinion, usually getting some roll that masked the flavor of the fish like the Colombian Roll (SO GOOD). I had one bad experience though-I usually stop by here at most 1-3 times a year and this one time, around three years ago, I ordered sushi a la carte (tuna) and a spicy tuna roll. I was not pleased. I could tell that the tuna was not fresh-maybe a few days old, and the spicy tuna was especially bad, with a lot of spicy mayo to cover the funk up. After that, I just stuck to the Korean side of the menu whenever I went back, always ordering the dumpling and rice cake soup (which is awesome here). But I recently went back after my graduation to celebrate with my friends and had a very different experience. The rolls were really great-even through all the sauces I could tell that the fish was fresh because there was no lingering taste on my palette. I don't know if this place is one of those restaurants that have good and bad days because they keep their fish for so long throughout the week, or if it's because I caught them on an off-chance, but definitely consider this a safe zone in terms of sushi. Good for a Korean-owned restaurant. Absolutely not even in the same ballpark when comparing to Japanese-owned restaurants that serve omakase in the city, but definitely affordable where the bill won't make you want to cry, and they offer some fun and different choices for rolls. There are a lot of places nearby that serve sushi that probably shouldn't, but occassionaly you find places like Lee's Sushi that make you feel good about having that craving for sushi. This place has your typical sushi menu along with some Korean food and fusion meals. So I definitely took advantage of having to cultural menu. The sushi, which was the main craving, was pretty good and hit the spot; however, the chicken bulgogi that we ordered fell flat...the chicken was dry and lacked a punch of flavor that I've had in the past as far as bulgogi goes. But the gyoza that came with the meal was good. Overall though, I came for the sushi and it delivered well. I'll definitely order again from this place when I get a craving for sushi, but maybe next time I'll try getting something different like the kimchi which I really enjoy. read more

For the last 4 years, Lees was my goto sushi place for lunch. However, over the last few months, the sushi has been off. Their spicy tuna use to be the best around. I think that they may have changed recipes or chef, as it is completely different. It almost has a ketchup taste and feel to it. Very disappointing. read more

We went for dinner and ordered the dinner box, we got sushi and kalbee and all the stuff that came with the box, we loved it! Everything was very good and tasty, we especially loved the Yakult in the end when we got out check, the price was reasonable and the food was tasty, but about 2 hours later everything went south, I got food poisoning from the sushi, everything was hell after that dinner. everything was just too good tone true about that place. We are DEFINITELY not going back, even tho the food was good at the moment, it's not worth getting food poisoning again. read more

We used to go to Lee's sushi alot. But thier service has taken a huge hit lately. Last time we were in the restaurant the owner was sitting next to us playing videos on his cell phone so loudly that we had to make comments and threaten to leave before he turned it down. Today we ordered out and got shorted 1 roll, wassabi and ginger from our order. After driving all the way back they refused to give us the roll we ordered. I was in the area and decided to stop in to get some sushi, so I ordered 2 california rolls to go. The staff was very friendly and my order came out pretty quick. However, once I got back to work to enjoy it, I noticed all of the avocado had brown spots all over. I know avocados get a little brown when they start to oxidize and they're still alright to eat, but I took all of the avocado out of my rolls and they were covered in dark brown areas throughout it. I'm really surprised they would serve that to a customer, especially reading all of the good reviews. read more

Overall a really good choice if you like sushi! You can tell that their sushi is always fresh which is a major plus for all of you that love sushi. They have become one of our favorite delivery options when we simply don't want to go out to dinner. They are usually very prompt with their delivery but do experience times of high volume. For the quality of sushi that they do prepare, they are priced adequately. Sometimes they don't give enough ginger or soy sauce even when it is requested but this isn't a game changer because the sushi is so good. Like I said, great sushi at a great price! read more
