A really stylish place for small bites and drinks. We came for happy hour before a dinner reservation and shared the goats cheese appetizer with a couple cocktails. The app was great and we loved the drinks too. The service was also really friendly and prompt. Another great addition to the rice village area! read more

We went for our anniversary and they went above and beyond. Great service, excellent wine selection. Food was so great. We particularly loved the "garden party". Will definitely be back. read more

Loved this place! Perfectly curated wine menu and the 1/2 bottles of wine sold me! The appetizers and the steak with balsamic reduction was amazing. The service was amazing and the interior is lovely! The HH is reasonably priced for a true Happy Hour! Psst, this is the old Benjy's! read more

It's a cute spot for an intimate dinner. It's a bit small so probably wouldn't do for groups bigger than 4. Our food selections were all in the shareable section and was plenty for us. Their wine list is superb with almost retail pricing, which is a plus! Will be back:) read more

Great atmosphere, friendly service and good food! Awesome experience!! Will definitely try this place again!

This place is not big and it's upstairs of local foods. I really like the decor and the vibes on a nice summer night. Nice wine list. The food is hit or miss. Like the milk and caviar, what can go wrong with milk bread and butter. Loved it. The foie gras pate was delicious but they only give you three pieces of bread for a pretty big block of pate. Luckily our server understood it was not enough bread and brought us more without charge. The steak was good and not over cooked but could have maybe used some veggies as a side to cut thru all the heaviness of the potatoes and meat. The uni wiggle, you don't taste any uni and it was a bit too salty. More salt than flavor. And the meatballs were a little over cooked but the flavor mix was good with the side and toppings. Overall I really enjoyed my time here. Excellent service. Great atmosphere. Will definitely be back more while it's nice out. read more

Spontaneously decided to check out Lee's Den before dinner at a nearby restaurant with some friends. Amazing atmosphere and service was impeccable. The bread and caviar were the perfect warm and salty complement to the sweetness of the champagne cocktail and Lilet tonic drinks. Left Lee's Den feeling like I had a wonderful experience and I can't wait to return! read more

This place was so cool! We went for happy hour and got some drinks and appetizers (they have great deals!). They mainly serve wine and the cocktails are wine based. The environment inside was very mid-century modern chic. The service was quick, but did slow down a bit as it got more crowded. Will definitely return! read more

Enjoyed my first visit to Lees Den! Atmosphere was quaint, and the service deserves this 5-star review! I tried the elderflower lime spritz cocktail and the pistachio whipped goat cheese & bread -- both were delicious! read more

Stumbled across this place and it's such a cute little surprise !!! The staff is super friendly and I love the atmosphere!! Unfortunately I had already eaten , but the food items look yummy . The drink I ordered was delicious and the lava cake was amazing ! read more

Loved this place! We made a reservation to have drinks with friends before dinner and were promptly seated in the mid-century mod meets golden girls chic restaurant. The service was friendly and attentive and our drinks were creative and refreshing. Sitting next to the patio door, we got blasted with regular heat, but it's Houston in August - understandable. A few light appetizers were tasty and well plated. We'll definitely be back! read more

This spot absolutely lives up to the hype and expectations you automatically have going to a Benjy's spot!!! Everything is well-executed: Crisana's curated a fantastic wine list with some great and unexpected options, the food is all delicious with so many fantastic flavor and textural elements, and the service is outstanding. Fatima and Crisana took great care of us and made awesome food and wine recommendations for us. Definitely became my friend's and my new hang-out - we can't wait to go back! read more

We visit Local Foods at least twice a month every month for over 5 years. Maximo is great too. Not sure what's wrong here - the food is so average and overpriced for quality. We came back a second time to see if we made a mistake with our original judgement. We didn't. It's very pretty though! read more

Like so many other recently-opened restaurants, this is another prime example of all style and no substance. The restaurant had an excellent ambiance and decent service. But that was all. The cocktails were mediocre at best. The food was disastrous. We had two very unappetizing appetizers before we decided to leave. The baked brie was postitively the worst baked brie on the planet - overly salty and a weirdly generous amount of black pepper completely massacred what could have been a simple and elegant dish. The shrimp egg rolls were the blandest possible food that I ever tasted - zero flavors. Two appetizers, one cocktail, and a zero-proof cocktail took our check to $65 with tax and tip. We ended up finishing our delicious dinner down the street at half the price. Not worth the calories, and definitely not worth the price. read more

Absolutely loved the atmosphere of this place and would definitely come back for a drink. However the food is extremely overpriced for the quality. Oysters were fine but miniature size for the price we paid. We also had the crab fried rice and, again, totally overpriced for the quality - it hardly had any flavor. I recognize that maybe we ordered wrong so I'm not against trying again some other time but I was definitely disappointed as we walked out. read more

Fantastic experience all around. Awesome ambiance, cool speakeasy vibes & great service by Chloe. Definitely coming back.

My new favorite HH/rooftop patio spot in Houston! LOVE this place!! Lees den is located above the local foods in rice village! There's a side entrance to enter or you can enter through local foods and take the steps up. The aesthetic is hipster mixed with cali vibes. Lees den is only open Thursday - Saturday, so make reservations ahead of time. Got the patio seating, loved the rooftop patio. Lots of green plants. Server was amazing and very helpful. She offered to switch out the cocktails with ones we liked for the sip n snack option and gave us a new container of sauce for the leftover fries we packed. From the sip n snack portion, ordered the frites & champagne cocktail and the bread & caviar butter with passionfruit spritz (instead of the cappaletti spritz). Also got the whipped goat cheese. Favorites were the whipped goat cheese, passionfruit spritz, and bread & caviar butter. A MUST GO if your a local or a tourist! read more

Lees den was an amazing experience. The food was great, the ambiance was amazing, the customer service was awesome and I really did love how exclusive the location felt. I was on a solo date and had 2 cocktails, the champagne cocktail and the amaro sour, for my appetizers I had the bread and caviar and the oysters, and for my main course I had the Steak and potatoes. Their menu is small but mighty. And the price point is perfect. For all that I ordered, I only paid $100. I will definitely be returning. read more

This place was so good that I went back again 2 days later. Drinks, food ambiance and service is all amazing! I tried the popcorn, pistachio whipped goat cheese, sesame ginger meatballs, grilled gulf shrimp, bread and caviar, and the Robert Redford cake. Out of all of the items I tried, the goat cheese, meatballs and Robert Redford cake stuck out. The goat cheese with the date jam and flatbread was delicious! The meatballs were extremely tender, flavorful and juicy; I was pleasantly surprised! The first time I visited, I came with my sister who was visiting from CA and just had a newborn baby. We told the waitress we'd love to stick around but my sister needs to get back to her newborn. The waitress was SO sweet. She ended up packing us a Robert Redford cake to go. The cake was described as their version of the better than sex cake. Almost a mix of tres leches and German chocolate cake. It was SO good! This place is a must try! Definitely make reservations since they get pretty crowded. I can't wait to go back to this place.? read more

Good times... when you decide to toast the Jewish New Years with a little Foie gras since there's no chopped liver or pate on the menu. This did not disappoint! Love the new design concept for Lees Den. Their service was spot on with a few old timers from the Benjys era. Happy to see this development. Wine cocktails were tasty and food was spot on. Overall, fun place to lounge. read more

As others have said, this is in the old Benjys location. It has inside and outside seating. Since it is still horrific outside, we had reserved a table inside. I definitely recommend reservations. The place does feel intimate without overcrowded. I enjoyed the decor inside which had a midcentury vibe to it. While we'd normally share a bottle of wine, we each wanted a different type of wine so we opted for glasses instead. Our server let us try a sip of the wine before deciding which we wanted. This helped us make a decision on which wine to choose. We shared a few dishes, the crudo, lamb, the black cod and lastly the cheese plate to finish off the meal. I enjoyed all of them but especially the cod. I just didn't expect the spicy kick on the lamb. I do not think my date even experienced it as spicy, such is my palate. In any case, overall it was a great visit. I'd love to return in the (actual) Fall to check out the outside! read more

Good vibes. Cute speakeasy access type location. Food is mediocre at best. Will return only for drinks only, not food

Lees Den is not only stunning, but also the food and service is incredible! Chrisanna and the rest of the staff will take care of your every need. I've eaten in this urban treehouse three times in the last two weeks and have had an excellent experience every time. The Sesame Ginger Meatballs are bright and delicious bites of flavor. You can't go wrong with ordering the Pistachio Whipped Goat Cheese, the melt in your mouth Bread and Caviar, and the Steak and Potatoes. Save room for the White Chocolate pot de Crème because it will change your life! Make a reservation for the patio and you won't be disappointed with the paradise vibes. read more

I was so looking forward to this experience celebrating another birthday with my good girlfriends over cocktails and bites, however that was shortly disrupted by a hostess/manager (Ashlyn) who first hesitated to continue serving my table our cocktails (my guest had 2-3 each) and ultimately denied us service due to what she assumed was "not safe" for us to do. Oddly, she insisted that if we "ordered more food" then she would be "comfortable" in serving us the cocktail my friend was so graciously trying to surprise me with. Not only did this young lady question our alcohol consumption as if our conduct was disorderly in the restaurant, but spoke to us as if we were young children being disciplined at the adult dinner table... no carrots no dessert. This was honestly the first time myself or my party has ever been approached like this by any eating establishment including those servicing alcohol, and I've dined at some of the most prestigious eateries around the world. If we were utilizing the table for too long... say that, if you have a 2 or 3 drink max... say that, but what is not acceptable is portraying as if you're worried about a guests safety thus deny them a beverage unless they spend more money on food, if I may add over $150.00 was spent at our table on FOOD and beverages. This was by far embarrassing as the host of my birthday happy hour, and inappropriate of the wait staff/manager I engaged with. I want to reiterate that there was no misappropriate conduct demonstrated by any of my guests, no one was drunk, slurring, stumbling, or gave any impression that alcohol should no longer be served to us. We were simply a group of well put together, beautiful, intelligent, and professional Black Women celebrating another gift of birth my Lord has allowed me to experience. And knowing that what was meant to be such a beautiful occasion ended abruptly as so, is extremely disappointing. I can honestly say that I won't think twice about visiting this establishment again, nor will I recommend it. And my feedback will not stop here, I will be contacting the Owner as well. read more

This place was amazing and so cozy! It's a little hard to find at first (go through the Local Foods Market, LFM, storefront and make your way up to the stairs), but it also gives it a certain charm in being a hidden gem. We went here for dinner and drinks after a concert and luckily got a table without having reservations (highly recommend given the small size of the place). The space is very lounge-y, but comfortable and our servers were amazing and took really good care of us. Last- but not least- food is delicious; we ordered the meatballs and pasta based on our server's recommendations-- didn't disappoint! Food was also seasonal and reasonably priced, and coupled with a bottle of wine-- made for an amazing experience. read more
