Lee's feels like the kind of place you're happy to have in your rotation when you want good cocktails and an easy night catching up with friends. Stopped in on a Wednesday with a buddy and spent a few hours talking over drinks and snacks. The $1 oysters are an absolute deal and were the highlight of the food for me. We also shared an order of mozzarella sticks that hit the spot. Wednesday also features pasta specials, which looked like another great value. For drinks, I had a mezcal spritz that was excellent and another signature cocktail that I unfortunately can't remember the name of, but I do remember enjoying it. The cocktail program seems well thought out without being pretentious. The atmosphere is what really stands out. Walking in gives off great speakeasy vibes. The entrance has a slightly divey, hidden-gem feel, and once inside the space is stylish, intimate, and comfortable. The music was at just the right volume. Present enough to create energy but not so loud that you can't have a conversation. This is a great spot for one-on-one catchups, date nights, or grabbing drinks with a small group of friends. Between the cocktails, oysters, and laid-back atmosphere, I'll definitely be back. Wednesday nights in particular are hard to beat for the value.
After having dinner and drinks at Milton's, zaddy and i decided at that moment, we were ready for a Gen X/millenial style turn up, so we headed to Milton's little brother, Lee. Or is it the big brother? Anywho, this review is for a cocktail only experience. Didn't have to scan the menu long, I saw the Negroni and went for it. Very small, I struggled getting to my seat--not big back approved but it's a cozy spot--intimate enough for a date night. Bartender was friendly, super cool looking fella! No complaints. Not blown away by anything but I'd most certainly go back! Turn up ACTIVATED!
Returned and ordered the amazing duck fries paired with a cocktail, perfect combination. All drinks are perfectly curated. Service is great and the dark lit intimate classy vibe is always a good way to end the night.
Ok, so this restaurant is located in a building with several other restaurants. Parking on a Friday/Saturday night is slim. I'd advise you to take a car service, get there early, or drop your party off and circle the lot like a buzzard, waiting for someone to leave. So you have to go upstairs to access this place and it is really dark inside. Drinks took a while but food came out in waves, allowing enough time for us to enjoy what was on the table. We had half of the appetizers listed and for a table of four, it was more than enough. I really liked the duck fat fries, which are as large as potato logs. Was not a big fan of the sauce and would have rather had ketchup.
I had been wanting to checkout this spot for quite awhile and finally had a chance for happy hour. Parking and Vibe - 4* There is a parking lot surrounding Lee's and their other venues, but it was absolutely jam packed due to what looked like a business Christmas party. The most annoying part is there were three or four awkwardly parked cars that prevented others from parking in the spaces immediately adjacent to them. A few spaces definitely do not look standard size and are more compact only though not marked as such. There is "complimentary" valet, which if anyone knows me, I find absurdly stupid when a lot is attached to the restaurant. Let me give you a tip for parking my car fiftrn feet a way from where I could have done it myself. At least the valet doesn't seem to try to block off parking spots which is becoming more common to force you to "pay" them. Here's a novel concept, park the car further away like New York and earn it? /rant Now for those who are not aware, this venue is upstairs and you get there through a service entry type backdoor that leads to some stairs. It feels like this spot could definitely be a bit prohibition speakeasy, if desired. The vibe on the interior is really cool, though, the music was louder than one would expect. This was particularly the case when being sat in a corner where the speaker is located. Personally, I think it kind of takes away from the ambiance of the venue, which is otherwise amazing. Maybe expand the speakers and lower the volume so it isn't as obnoxious for certain areas? Food & Drink - 3.5* There are some great options on the regular and happy hour menu. We ordered a couple of drinks and food from each over our time there, all great. The wings, the baked oysters, and the Duck Fat Fries were all solid. The hamachi crudo went down before a pic could be snapped. We would have ordered a pizza but we were too full! The Garibaldi was probably the highlight from the HH menu. The Cynar Mojito was good and I found the Campari Seltz very underwhelming. Overall the cocktail menu is not overly impressive, but I think I subjectively carry a higher bar on craft cocktails having been a bartender. Nothing here stands out to me in a crowd of other places trying to vie for your dollar. Service - 5* They are a team here with everyone from the waitress, to the runners, to the hostess all helping out. It results in largely never needing anything and being checked in onultiple times. Absolutely on point being able to enjoy the vibe without being in need of anything. Pricing - 4* As I say in most reviews, it's subjective. It's becoming harder to run a restaurant and bar these days with margins just becoming thinner. Food is reasonable, maybe a hair over but the vibe of this joint makes it a bit more experiential. Now, I think some of the drinks are overpriced for what they are. $16 is the "standard" in today's 2025 market but that's for what I'd consider to be a drink involving a bit more curation in house made syrups, bitters, tinctures, etc. Or prep and presentation. I've been to several establishments with more evelated cocktails for the same price. It feels like so many spots just price them self to the market not to the actual elevation of the drink itself. Overall - 4* Lee's is a spot I'd revisit with some friends if they're seeking an interesting vibe though I'd probably key in on only a few select drinks. If a more elevated craft cocktail experience is your goal, you may be a bit disappointed here.

This is place is great for a date night. Low light, music in the background and chill vibes. The service was good as well. They were attentive and checked on our table consistently. Drinks were good but food wise, it was just ok. I say, come here for drinks and go somewhere else for food. Fried Ravioli 4/10: Perfectly fried and that's pretty much it. The marinara sauce was ok. It did what it needed to do. Spicy blood orange margarita : perfectly balanced and perfectly spicy. This had some kick to it.
The ambiance of this place was absolutely amazing. I loved the dim lighting, I loved the music they played while I ate, and the customer service was so kind. I ordered a prosecco-infused pizza the one time I went and it was delicious. I'm so glad my waiter recommended that I try it with their homemade ranch! It was also cute that they had a photobooth & a notepad for people to write notes and leave there as a memory. I'll definitely be going back.
My friend and I came here for dinner/drinks and it was such a great experience. The entrance is on the side of the building (follow the neon light). Lee's is a trendy speakeasy bar that feels casual but intentional. There was plenty of seating but we did make reservations to ensure there'd be no issues. Our waiter was super cool and very attentive. It seemed like there was a happy hour crew and several dates, which definitely fits the vibe. They also partake in the Thursday steak nights, and I do plan to return for that. The drinks were good and I ordered half a dozen oysters which were also good. Highly recommend for drinks with friends, date night or pregaming before going out.
Came on a Friday evening with no reservation, waited about 20 minutes and was able to get a bar seat. The bartenders are great and the restaurant vibe is perfect for date night. I ordered the blood orange margarita which was very good. To eat we got the fried calamari, fried ravioli, duck fat fries, and pepperoni pizza. The food was very fresh and flavorful, however everything was overly salty and I love salt. I will definitely be back to try additional menu items.
What a night! Myself and 3 of my friends came here for the first time together and had such a great night. We ordered a pizza, Caesar salad, the steak dinner (Thursday night special) and some appetizers. Food was truly incredible. The duck fat fries and pizza were orgasmic. Steak was cooked perfectly and lathered in some kind of sauce - insanely good. Staff was friendly and fun. Only downside: drinks take a long time - which is expected when ordering craft cocktails, so be patient. There was a few mishaps and our server/the manager took care of it immediately. Such a great experience here. 10/10! We will be regulars here!
Such a cute spot for girls' night! Who doesn't love a photobooth? The food was great, just a tad salty. The beef tartare and calamari were our favorite picks. The cocktails were simple, but the special shots weren't my favorite.
I've been itching to go to Lee's for quite a while and finally had the opportunity to experience all it had to offer. The moody and sultry ambiance sold it for me alone. I love bars that take me out of Houston without getting on a plane. The fried ravioli was so delicious that I did not even use much of the marinara that it was paired with. The lovely bartender made my first ever Hugo spritz and has solidified it as my cocktail of the year.
Really cute, almost-hidden little bar above Milton's. When our table wasn't ready, they had us wait here so we could have drinks. They had a really cute color themed menu that was very fun. So happy to finally have a place to get good cocktails in Rice village! Lee's is finally open and for those who frequented Lee's Den, it's so nice to have this space back! It's so different inside. There's a bar area, as well as table seating. The patio is now enclosed and looks like it will be a great place to hang, too. The menu is small, but has some great drinks on it. They have a section of small, half-sized cocktails too that can be meant as a nice finisher to your evening or even something fun to enjoy as you wait for your other party to arrive. The drinks I had were made very well, well balanced and refreshing. I particularly liked the Spice Melange. It had a nice kick to it while still being easy drink. The service was great, everyone was so friendly. The bartender Cindy chatted with me during my visit and made great recommendations on what to try. Love Lee's! Service is always attentive and on point. I adore the champagne cocktails with the ginger and the cute cozy environment. A great spot for GNO or a date. Fun environment that's a little loud but not so much that you can't hear. I think their fries are some of the best and enjoy the tofu dish a lot. The big veggie garden is impressive looking but wouldn't order it again. Not enough flavor or sauce. I need to try the happy hour since it looks like a great value. read more

June 28, 2023 Came for HH and had to walk into local foods (which was the old bank draft bar) and go upstairs to get to Lee's Den. Lee's is the old Benjy's without the inside bar it used to have. So this entire bldg is connected to all 3 restaurants by a door We had the shrimp lettuce wrap and inhouse Japanese butter bread with smoked trout roe (caviar)---both delicious We both tried 2 different spritz's, mine was the caparletti and my friend had the champagne spritz--neither of us would order them again Lots of wonderful wine selection from all over there USA read more

The only redeeming qualities about this place were the cute decor and the staff. The food was atrocious. Crudo was insanely salty. Fried mushrooms weren't salty enough and really lacked flavor. But the STEAK was just literally the worst steak I've ever had and that includes the steaks I tried to make myself in college. It was $41 for super low quality meat. It was tough and chewy lol just bad bad bad. The passion fruit sprit was fine but also tasted like it was super watered down? Just not good. I was overall shocked cause the place has good reviews but this experience was just bad. Disappointing because it's def on the pricier side so kinda feels like i wasted my money. read more

came here for a girls night and had a great time! we had a reservation but did not get seated until at least 30 minutes after the reservation. they tried to be accommodating and allowed us a place to sit and gave updates. once we sat it was a good experience! we tried the pizza, fries, mozz sticks which were all yummy and cooked well. the drinks were good as well! vibes were great. only things was that our server was pretty spotty. would definitely be back here but hopefully better service next time! read more
Very very good! This is my second time coming here! This visit was even better! As was my experience on the 1st visit. They provided excellent service and the food and beverages were excellent! We were there for happy hour. Everything was season to perfection especially those fries! We ordered 2 rounds. Also all the drinks have a wine base, and are all very refreshing! this place was amazing! $1 oysters wed-sat 4-6 pm happy hour oysters are small but so flavorful and sweet. toppings are so good. girbaldi drink was an orange grapefruit spritz ish? good but on the bitter side. the foam on the drink was a nice touch! also got mozarella sticks and they were the best cheese sticks i've ever had!!!! cheese pull was so good. i must come back!! read more

First time here , heard great things (previous benjy's spot). Hubby been wanting to try this place so we made a reservation on Resy (I overlooked the no kids , 21 & up fine print - oops). We brought our 18 year old who has nut allergies & our server Fatima was wonderful!! Very kind and understanding of it. She made sure everything we ordered was safe. That means alot to us because it can be tricky going to restaurants. We loved everything we ordered , the milk bread & caviar , fries is a must! And my favorite was the Mac & cheese (with a Korean twist !) Also to our surprise they have Happy Hour! 4-6!! Definitely will be back with some friends to order the 1 liter Caymus Cabernet for $75! Overall - great food, experience, ambiance! Plenty of parking too. read more

Tried out Lees Den recently and I can say I've found my new fave wine bar! It's an intimate spot above Local Foods. Perfect for a date, girls night out, or solo adventure! First, the food: everything was delish! We got the whipped goat cheese (we may or may not have gotten two; it usually comes with pistachios but we left them off), fries with secret sauce and lamb lollipops. For drinks, we opted for the sparkling sangria and passionfruit spritz, which we kept ordering throughout the night. Second, the service: our waitress was great! Very attentive, provided great recommendations and kept us laughing throughout the night. She even gave us dessert on her because we stayed for a longggg time and they ended up needing to move us to a different table (the hong kong French toast dessert was so good)! My friend also had a nut allergy and the person who brought out our food remembered that, which was so helpful. They are open Thursday-Saturday. While you can enter through Local Foods, I suggest taking the cool speakeasy entrance on the side of the building! read more
Came here on opening day as a walk in and was immediately sat at a booth. Ordered a glass of the Spanish red (Familia Torres Salmos) after the server kindly let me taste the Italian (Occhipinti SP 68 Rouge). My dining partner got the spring-thyme spritz. Both drinks were excellent. The ambiance is comfortable, yet sleek and hip. The servers are all very friendly and competent...even on day 1! There is a large patio area as well. Will need to return for a food experience soon. They do HH 4-6pm Thurs-Sat. There is lot parking, and reservations can be made on Resy. I've checked out the spot with my homegirl, but happy Halloween in it did not disappoint. The drinks good; they were light, refreshing. My first cocktail was gin based and I loved it. The second was heavy on the ginger, but it was still enjoyable and not too overwhelming. The french fries were definitely a hit. Spring rolls were like deconstructed. They were tasty, but I didn't enjoy the sauce that they for dipping. I would've preferred something sweeter bc their sauce was very tangy: I'll definitely be back! read more

Saw all the amazing reviews so naturally I was intrigued and curious as to what this place was about. It's located above Local Foods in the Village, and owned by the same company. Lots of the staff and items are from downstairs from Local Foods and Local Foods Market! The upstairs is a whole different experience. The decor is definitely a little fancier, the space is decorated nicely and the outdoor patio takes you to another place completely with all the greenery. It's small though, so make reservations when you can! The food was pretty delicious! The hummus and burrata was fresh and refreshing. It came with a naan type bread. The Pistachio and Goat Cheese was flavorful. That milk bread that comes with the bread & caviar is amazing!! The meatballs were also tender and had an amazing tomato based sauce on them! The only thing I was disappointed in were the drinks and cocktails - they're all made out of wine so they were super light (refreshing but not the delicious cocktails I was expecting for a place like this). They have a good happy hour menu so you can try all the things listed above! We ended up with the cake for dessert and it was rich but amazing! Would definitely come back! read more

Absolutely Amazing! We use to come here when it was formerly known as benjy's! We returned to find a newly improved "Lee's den"! Everything was great! From the wonderful staff, the amazing food, and I can't forget about the wine!! Everyone was great! But definitely Fatima was the best hands down! Very attentive and made sure she took care of us and all her tables as well! Everything was so great we made reservations to come back the next day as well! We will definitely be going back! I just visited this establishment with my fiancé for a friday date night. the vibes were amazing- the decor, the ambiance, the aesthetics were all on point. our beverages were also delicious; I ordered the passion fruit spritz which was refreshing and not overly sweet as well as the lillet and tonic which was refreshing and delicious as well. we also got the whipped goat cheese and flat bread (gluten free), crawfish dip and french fries! All of which were exquisite in their own way. I definitely appreciate their fusion food items- so unique! would definitely stop by for a date night or a girls night:) read more

Everything I had was amazing. The bread and caviar butter was to die for. The bread was so soft and the butter was so good. The ginger meatballs were another one for me. My friend and I got full just off the bread and meatballs and the fact I was coming for the steak, I had no more room. Every drink on the happy hour menu was tasty. My wait Chloe was bomb, she does her job well. Everything I ordered was her recommendation and she's didn't miss a beat. read more

A really stylish place for small bites and drinks. We came for happy hour before a dinner reservation and shared the goats cheese appetizer with a couple cocktails.
