Everything we ordered was delicious! The flavors were balanced. The dessert was, surprisingly, my favorite - not too sweet. The peach cobbler type dessert had a crunchy crust and soft body. And there was a sweet cream type dessert which was soft and airy and not too sweet. The squash in the squash dish paired nicely with the yogurt. The crab in the king crab dish was unevenly salty, but overall a balanced dish. We enjoyed the pasta dish too. We had a larger party and were seated in the wine room, which had a nice ambience. read more

Revisit review here. This place is as cute as ever, and service is very friendly. FYI, there's a back door to the left side of the building that leads to the parking lot. My only complaint is that they changed their menu completely to italian and are going to be more of a place to try out new menu items for the italian restaurant that will soon join the building. I really loved their variety of cultural fusion menu, but it feels like they lost character now. Nonetheless, their pasta and dessert were very good. It remains tapa style. Some may feel pricey for the portion sizes. read more

We stopped by for an after dinner drink. The place was really great. The bartender, Hailey, was spectacular. Highly recommend!

We came to the revamped Lee's with a group on a Friday night before a dinner reservation at Milton's. Upon arrival we were seated at a cozy booth in the corner and given the cocktail and light bites menu. My husband tried two of "the smalls", the Appleteeny and the Little Duke. He really enjoyed both of them and the Little Duke was poured table side which was a nice touch. My girlfriend really loved the Goddess Green and they had a solid traditional negroni. Great date night vibes and love that you can walk from the bar directly into Milton's dining room when your reservation is ready. Perfect for drinks before or after dinner. read more

Really cute, almost-hidden little bar above Milton's. When our table wasn't ready, they had us wait here so we could have drinks. They had a really cute color themed menu that was very fun. The drinks were a little bit pricey, but we all enjoyed what we had. I had a goddess green and it was one of the best gimlet I've ever had! read more

So happy to finally have a place to get good cocktails in Rice village! Lee's is finally open and for those who frequented Lee's Den, it's so nice to have this space back! It's so different inside. There's a bar area, as well as table seating. The patio is now enclosed and looks like it will be a great place to hang, too. The menu is small, but has some great drinks on it. They have a section of small, half-sized cocktails too that can be meant as a nice finisher to your evening or even something fun to enjoy as you wait for your other party to arrive. The drinks I had were made very well, well balanced and refreshing. I particularly liked the Spice Melange. It had a nice kick to it while still being easy drink. The service was great, everyone was so friendly. The bartender Cindy chatted with me during my visit and made great recommendations on what to try. Can't wait to work my way through their entire menu read more

Love Lee's! Service is always attentive and on point. I adore the champagne cocktails with the ginger and the cute cozy environment. A great spot for GNO or a date. Fun environment that's a little loud but not so much that you can't hear. I think their fries are some of the best and enjoy the tofu dish a lot. The big veggie garden is impressive looking but wouldn't order it again. Not enough flavor or sauce. I need to try the happy hour since it looks like a great value. read more

Freaking loved this place. Planning on going again and bringing some more friends but my first experience here was exceptional. My table shared a bottle of wine and ordered a handful of appetizers to share, none disappointed. Our server was attentive, charismatic and a highlight of the evening. Very unique ambiance and amazing experience overall. Looking forward to making it back. read more

June 28, 2023 Came for HH and had to walk into local foods (which was the old bank draft bar) and go upstairs to get to Lee's Den. Lee's is the old Benjy's without the inside bar it used to have. So this entire bldg is connected to all 3 restaurants by a door We had the shrimp lettuce wrap and inhouse Japanese butter bread with smoked trout roe (caviar)---both delicious We both tried 2 different spritz's, mine was the caparletti and my friend had the champagne spritz--neither of us would order them again Lots of wonderful wine selection from all over there USA read more

The only redeeming qualities about this place were the cute decor and the staff. The food was atrocious. Crudo was insanely salty. Fried mushrooms weren't salty enough and really lacked flavor. But the STEAK was just literally the worst steak I've ever had and that includes the steaks I tried to make myself in college. It was $41 for super low quality meat. It was tough and chewy lol just bad bad bad. The passion fruit sprit was fine but also tasted like it was super watered down? Just not good. I was overall shocked cause the place has good reviews but this experience was just bad. Disappointing because it's def on the pricier side so kinda feels like i wasted my money. read more

I came here for happy hour. The place was Benjy's. The ambiance now is like a speakeasy bar. I like the interior. The service was pretty good but the food menu is limited. And the menu online did not match the current menu. Overall, it a nice place for small bite and few dr read more

Every time I come here I realize why this is my favorite bar in Houston. The whole team is super friendly. The setting is both intimate but lively - believe it is describe as a wine speakeasy. It is a great spot for a date night or a small birthday party with friends (we did this last night). They have an awesome wine selection for almost every price point. Their are wines that are a little more atypical which I really like. If in doubt, ask the team - they have never steered me wrong. The menu evolves. I got bummed when the meatball left the menu but was replaced with several other great dishes. Reservations always helpful but can be a must during busy times. 21+ only - no children. I will say the A/C may be a little under-powered for a Houston summer. read more

Very very good! This is my second time coming here! This visit was even better! As was my experience on the 1st visit. They provided excellent service and the food and beverages were excellent! We were there for happy hour. Everything was season to perfection especially those fries! We ordered 2 rounds. Also all the drinks have a wine base, and are all very refreshing! My favorite was the blood orange spritz. I highly recommend this place! Also aesthically it is decorated so cute! Definitely a vibe! I'll be back! read more

This place is so pretty! The inside is beautiful, but the outside seating is just gorgeous, teeming with plants. It feels like you're in a forest oasis...sigh. I've been here twice now and both times my experience was great. Service is amazing as well. The second time our server gave us fries on the house because they were a popular choice, and they were delish! Great place for drinks with friends or a date. They have a pretty good happy hour. I wouldn't come here very hungry though. This is more of a light bites type of place. French fries, shrimp egg rolls, and whipped goat cheese are all tasty snacks. They had a special salmon sando when I was there as well which was mouth watering. The mac & cheese and yaki mushrooms were a no for me. read more

The host was extremely rude, hospitality was awful. I came out of town to have a good time and lees definitely wasn't the spot.

First time here , heard great things (previous benjy's spot). Hubby been wanting to try this place so we made a reservation on Resy (I overlooked the no kids , 21 & up fine print - oops). We brought our 18 year old who has nut allergies & our server Fatima was wonderful!! Very kind and understanding of it. She made sure everything we ordered was safe. That means alot to us because it can be tricky going to restaurants. We loved everything we ordered , the milk bread & caviar , fries is a must! And my favorite was the Mac & cheese (with a Korean twist !) Also to our surprise they have Happy Hour! 4-6!! Definitely will be back with some friends to order the 1 liter Caymus Cabernet for $75! Overall - great food, experience, ambiance! Plenty of parking too. read more

I love Lee's!!! It's very small but super cute. MAKE A RESERVATION!!! I am absolutely obsessed with the milk bread and caviar. It is not helping me unbig my back before the summer time so the beach will just get what it gets. I love the drink and lite bite pairings. They compliment each other well. Perfect for date night, happy hour, or just stepping out with friends. read more

Came back to this place. They changed their concept. New drinks and new food menu. Thought HH was still on but unfortunately they didn't have one. The food was very oily, salty and lacked depth. I miss the old food menu. This place is only worth happy hour prices. Probably would not return and def would not eat here. read more

If you have not come here. I highly recommend it if you enjoy wine. The ambiance is cozy and fun during prime time. The service might be my favorite part. I love Krissana, the manager and their lite bites are great with the wine. I have not fully dined here so I cannot speak to that. read more

Really enjoyed my visit to Lees Den. The staff was very nice, attentive and prompt taking our order and checking on us often. We had the bread and caviar and baby it was delicious! I honestly wanted to order another and not share it. We also had the mac and cheese but it was a little spicy for me. I do believe their menu changes so not sure if its still available. For my entree I had the pasta al pomodoro, and again they delivered with the flavor. I loved the decor and the vibe of the place and I will definitely be back. read more

Came here on opening day as a walk in and was immediately sat at a booth. Ordered a glass of the Spanish red (Familia Torres Salmos) after the server kindly let me taste the Italian (Occhipinti SP 68 Rouge). My dining partner got the spring-thyme spritz. Both drinks were excellent. The ambiance is comfortable, yet sleek and hip. The servers are all very friendly and competent...even on day 1! There is a large patio area as well. Will need to return for a food experience soon. They do HH 4-6pm Thurs-Sat. There is lot parking, and reservations can be made on Resy. You can enter via the staircase in the left back area of LFM. read more

Tried out Lees Den recently and I can say I've found my new fave wine bar! It's an intimate spot above Local Foods. Perfect for a date, girls night out, or solo adventure! First, the food: everything was delish! We got the whipped goat cheese (we may or may not have gotten two; it usually comes with pistachios but we left them off), fries with secret sauce and lamb lollipops. For drinks, we opted for the sparkling sangria and passionfruit spritz, which we kept ordering throughout the night. Second, the service: our waitress was great! Very attentive, provided great recommendations and kept us laughing throughout the night. She even gave us dessert on her because we stayed for a longggg time and they ended up needing to move us to a different table (the hong kong French toast dessert was so good)! My friend also had a nut allergy and the person who brought out our food remembered that, which was so helpful. They are open Thursday-Saturday. While you can enter through Local Foods, I suggest taking the cool speakeasy entrance on the side of the building! read more

Lees Den is a hidden gem! It's an intimate spot tucked above Local Foods and Owl Bar--Lees Den feels more like a lounge than a restaurant, though it's a full service restaurant that offers delicious food. And our server was great too and truly seemed to want us to have a great evening. Here's what we tried: --Foie gras pate: This pate was different because it had a nice, spicy aftertaste, and I liked the focaccia bread served with it. --French fries: I think these are the same twice-cooked French fries served at Local Foods, and I really like these French fries. --Fish: I can't remember the type of fish, but it was so good and fresh. And though the corn puree and sauteed spinach served with the fish were very good, the fish itself was simply delightful. --Steak and potato: The steak was cooked more than the medium-rare we ordered, but it was very tasty. And the potato puree served with it was fantastic--I'd say that the butter-to-potato ratio was 10:1, so good. --Chocolate cake: The cake had a funny name that included a movie star's name, and it was delicious. It was definitely decadent but not ridiculously heavy. As a big Local Foods fan, I'm so pleased that its sister restaurant Lees Den is so wonderful. read more

Snuck over for happy hour and loved it! Neat to have this spot in the neighborhood now. Tucked away above Local Foods and with an unassuming entrance, Lee's Den is definitely a surprise once you enter it's threshold. Enjoyed everything we ordered and look forward to making it back for a full meal. It's a cute but small space inside, and make sure to plan ahead with a reservation so you can be seated. read more

I've checked out the spot with my homegirl, but happy Halloween in it did not disappoint. The drinks good; they were light, refreshing. My first cocktail was gin based and I loved it. The second was heavy on the ginger, but it was still enjoyable and not too overwhelming. The french fries were definitely a hit. Spring rolls were like deconstructed. They were tasty, but I didn't enjoy the sauce that they for dipping. I would've preferred something sweeter bc their sauce was very tangy: I'll definitely be back! read more

Lovely, intimate atmosphere. It was pretty crowded and we didn't have a reservation for a Friday evening but they were able to seat a table for 2 right away. Expansive wine list from around the world. Prices aren't extremely marked up from retail price. Staff are very knowledgeable about the wines. Very attentive service. We ordered fries and the Vietnamese style tartare. Both were wonderful. Unfortunately both my partner and I had pretty loose stools after.. possibly from the beef tartare. Other than that, great experience. read more

Saw all the amazing reviews so naturally I was intrigued and curious as to what this place was about. It's located above Local Foods in the Village, and owned by the same company. Lots of the staff and items are from downstairs from Local Foods and Local Foods Market! The upstairs is a whole different experience. The decor is definitely a little fancier, the space is decorated nicely and the outdoor patio takes you to another place completely with all the greenery. It's small though, so make reservations when you can! The food was pretty delicious! The hummus and burrata was fresh and refreshing. It came with a naan type bread. The Pistachio and Goat Cheese was flavorful. That milk bread that comes with the bread & caviar is amazing!! The meatballs were also tender and had an amazing tomato based sauce on them! The only thing I was disappointed in were the drinks and cocktails - they're all made out of wine so they were super light (refreshing but not the delicious cocktails I was expecting for a place like this). They have a good happy hour menu so you can try all the things listed above! We ended up with the cake for dessert and it was rich but amazing! Would definitely come back! read more

Have been twice now and love the space/decor, food, drinks and service - consistently great! Fun spot for happy hour. Staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Crudo has been a favorite - changes with the menu, first time was Asian flavored tuna and this time was Italian inspired poke tuna with smoked aioli, olives, basil, tomato vinaigrette (different and couldn't stop eating). Creme fraiche brown butter with bread service was delicious, as well as the marinated feta - seasoned perfectly (not too salty), light and fluffy. Everything I had was amazing. The bread and caviar butter was to die for. The bread was so soft and the butter was so good. The ginger meatballs were another one for me. My friend and I got full just off the bread and meatballs and the fact I was coming for the steak, I had no more room. Every drink on the happy hour menu was tasty. My wait Chloe was bomb, she does her job well. Everything I ordered was her recommendation and she's didn't miss a beat. read more
