My friend and I came here for dinner/drinks and it was such a great experience. The entrance is on the side of the building (follow the neon light). Lee's is a trendy speakeasy bar that feels casual but intentional. There was plenty of seating but we did make reservations to ensure there'd be no issues. Our waiter was super cool and very attentive. It seemed like there was a happy hour crew and several dates, which definitely fits the vibe. They also partake in the Thursday steak nights, and I do plan to return for that. The drinks were good and I ordered half a dozen oysters which were also good. Highly recommend for drinks with friends, date night or pregaming before going out.

I had been wanting to checkout this spot for quite awhile and finally had a chance for happy hour. Parking and Vibe - 4* There is a parking lot surrounding Lee's and their other venues, but it was absolutely jam packed due to what looked like a business Christmas party. The most annoying part is there were three or four awkwardly parked cars that prevented others from parking in the spaces immediately adjacent to them. A few spaces definitely do not look standard size and are more compact only though not marked as such. There is "complimentary" valet, which if anyone knows me, I find absurdly stupid when a lot is attached to the restaurant. Let me give you a tip for parking my car fiftrn feet a way from where I could have done it myself. At least the valet doesn't seem to try to block off parking spots which is becoming more common to force you to "pay" them. Here's a novel concept, park the car further away like New York and earn it? /rant Now for those who are not aware, this venue is upstairs and you get there through a service entry type backdoor that leads to some stairs. It feels like this spot could definitely be a bit prohibition speakeasy, if desired. The vibe on the interior is really cool, though, the music was louder than one would expect. This was particularly the case when being sat in a corner where the speaker is located. Personally, I think it kind of takes away from the ambiance of the venue, which is otherwise amazing. Maybe expand the speakers and lower the volume so it isn't as obnoxious for certain areas? Food & Drink - 3.5* There are some great options on the regular and happy hour menu. We ordered a couple of drinks and food from each over our time there, all great. The wings, the baked oysters, and the Duck Fat Fries were all solid. The hamachi crudo went down before a pic could be snapped. We would have ordered a pizza but we were too full! The Garibaldi was probably the highlight from the HH menu. The Cynar Mojito was good and I found the Campari Seltz very underwhelming. Overall the cocktail menu is not overly impressive, but I think I subjectively carry a higher bar on craft cocktails having been a bartender. Nothing here stands out to me in a crowd of other places trying to vie for your dollar. Service - 5* They are a team here with everyone from the waitress, to the runners, to the hostess all helping out. It results in largely never needing anything and being checked in onultiple times. Absolutely on point being able to enjoy the vibe without being in need of anything. Pricing - 4* As I say in most reviews, it's subjective. It's becoming harder to run a restaurant and bar these days with margins just becoming thinner. Food is reasonable, maybe a hair over but the vibe of this joint makes it a bit more experiential. Now, I think some of the drinks are overpriced for what they are. $16 is the "standard" in today's 2025 market but that's for what I'd consider to be a drink involving a bit more curation in house made syrups, bitters, tinctures, etc. Or prep and presentation. I've been to several establishments with more evelated cocktails for the same price. It feels like so many spots just price them self to the market not to the actual elevation of the drink itself. Overall - 4* Lee's is a spot I'd revisit with some friends if they're seeking an interesting vibe though I'd probably key in on only a few select drinks. If a more elevated craft cocktail experience is your goal, you may be a bit disappointed here.

This is place is great for a date night. Low light, music in the background and chill vibes. The service was good as well. They were attentive and checked on our table consistently. Drinks were good but food wise, it was just ok. I say, come here for drinks and go somewhere else for food. Fried Ravioli 4/10: Perfectly fried and that's pretty much it. The marinara sauce was ok. It did what it needed to do. Spicy blood orange margarita : perfectly balanced and perfectly spicy. This had some kick to it.

Came on a Friday evening with no reservation, waited about 20 minutes and was able to get a bar seat. The bartenders are great and the restaurant vibe is perfect for date night. I ordered the blood orange margarita which was very good. To eat we got the fried calamari, fried ravioli, duck fat fries, and pepperoni pizza. The food was very fresh and flavorful, however everything was overly salty and I love salt. I will definitely be back to try additional menu items.

Such a cute spot for girls' night! Who doesn't love a photobooth? The food was great, just a tad salty. The beef tartare and calamari were our favorite picks. The cocktails were simple, but the special shots weren't my favorite.

I've been itching to go to Lee's for quite a while and finally had the opportunity to experience all it had to offer. The moody and sultry ambiance sold it for me alone. I love bars that take me out of Houston without getting on a plane. The fried ravioli was so delicious that I did not even use much of the marinara that it was paired with. The lovely bartender made my first ever Hugo spritz and has solidified it as my cocktail of the year.

We had such a lovely time here! The drinks were excellent, ambiance was amazing, and loved the bites we tried as well. Made for an outstanding date night spot!

Great vibe and the service was excellent. I did not try the food but the cocktails were solid. They do fill up so you may need a reservation.

I don't drink alcohol so I'm gonna give 5/5 stars for the food, the incredible hospitality (literally the best in Houston), and the beautiful and cozy ambiance. Yall. The food!!! That chicken parm sandwich left me speechless. Literally. The bar manager came by to ask me how it was and I had no words. Partly because my face was stuffed but partly because it was that good. Yes. Get it. The mozzarella sticks are definitely a throw back. SO delicious. Perfect cheese pull. Def ask for some marinara sauce and your taste buds will definitely have a blast from the past. Try these dishes. You're welcome. The staff is so hospitable that I felt right at home. No notes. They are definitely a beautiful representation of LFG. The ambiance is cozy and intimate. I cannot wait to come back.

This pseudo speakeasy is just off the beaten path in Rice village, just above the Owl Bar. It will seem as though you should walk through the Owl Bar to get upstairs, but the the access is actually from the outside around the back (we made this mistake) We tried to do a walk-in, but they were booked up. They kindly accommodated and told us we could wait for up to 15min to see if someone flaked. Then they told us there was actually room on the patio, and we graciously took it The entire space is chic and trendy. The staff is "cool" and professional. The menu is appealing yet concise Our order came out in a timely manner. The drinks were great, and the vibe was exceptional. This is a great place for a date night or just a fun bar to relax and take refuge from the Texas heat Some tips: Again, make reservations as it was completely full when we arrived tried to do a walk-in. If they offer the patio, take it. It's not actually open to the outside air. It is air conditioned Cheers!!

I've seen the transition of this space from Benjy's to Lee's Den to now Lee's. I've been a huge fan of the group and their prior concepts. I'm also a huge cocktail fan, so I was so excited that Lee's was recognized by Bon Appetit as one of the best new bars in the US! If you look at Lee's prior menus, their cocktails were so unique! We definitely wanted to check it out, and the reviews of those before us seemed great. BUT - don't get fooled like we did! Unfortunately, starting this week, Lee's decided to go a new direction- so the person that was leading their prior bar program no longer is there. And there is a different group leading the bar program now. We were pretty surprised when we got the drink menus today, because they were very different and pretty basic. Our waitress explained that it was taking them so long to prep drinks before, that they decided to go a new direction. This past Wednesday was the last day they served the old cocktail menu. Huge bummer! Seemed like Lee's could have been amongst the Juleps and Anvils, but decided to go a different direction. The space is still nice. The drinks are average. I enjoyed my Beach Vacation, but my wife's Aperol Spritz and my margarita were subpar. Big loss for Houston!

The ambiance of this place was absolutely amazing. I loved the dim lighting, I loved the music they played while I ate, and the customer service was so kind. I ordered a prosecco-infused pizza the one time I went and it was delicious. I'm so glad my waiter recommended that I try it with their homemade ranch! It was also cute that they had a photobooth & a notepad for people to write notes and leave there as a memory. I'll definitely be going back.

So we walked on over to this little speakeasy and were immediately greeted by the bouncer. On a Thursday night, it was quite crowded, but were able to find the last remaining seats at the bar. We were seated at the left end of the bar, which was nice because we had our own little "nook" away from the rest of the bar. Adjacent to us was the server station - the one server tending to the tables, Marilyn, frequently came by and we immediately befriended her. She gave us excellent recommendations and provided her opinion on several drinks. Robin was the bartender who took care of us throughout the night. She was super friendly from the moment we sat down and gave us stellar recommendations on food and drinks. She was happy to tweak a couple of their seasonal drinks to our liking, and even offered to mix other drinks that weren't on the menu. Fantastic service from Robin throughout the night. I started out with Tommy's Margarita - this was just their take on a classic margarita, nothing super special. I then ordered the Oaxacan Old Fashioned - think of an old fashioned made with tequila and mezcal in lieu of bourbon. I was a bit cautious about this one since I am not a fan of mezcal, however the smoky flavor was not very apparent in this one, which was a huge plus! I also got the Ardilla - very unique drink made with mexican corn whiskey, cocoa nibs, sherry, and a milk punch. I award this drink for most unique I've had in a while, definitely give it a try if you're up for something new. To finish, I had the Cariña - their take on an espresso martini made with reposado tequila. I really liked this espresso martini - it was a great way to finish out the night and I left feeling inspired to make my espresso martinis at home using tequila now! With the little room we had left in our stomachs, we tried the Pato Tinga Memela, which was duck leg (no bone) with beans and onions and cilantro atop a memela. I haven't had memela specifically per se, but consider me a fan. It is basically a mini "cake" of masa that is pan fried to a slight crispiness. An Oaxacan speciality, where else can I find these in Houston!? We also tried the Guacamole y Tostadas. The guacamole was unique in the sense that it was Oaxacan style, so contains pepitas, pickled onions, and queso fresco. The tostadas were super crispy and reminded me of how they serve guacamole in Mexico (rather than with chips/totopos). Fun fact is that this bar is owned by Goode Company. Next door to this is Goode Co. Cantina, so it's nice that they created an adjoining restaurant + speakeasy concept within the same strip. At one point in our visit, Levi Goode was standing next to us. We didn't know until after he left and Marilyn informed us, that that was THE man. Just doing a casual check-in of his bar. We really had a good experience at Bar Buena and look forward to returning. The food menu has quite a few offerings I wanted to try had I not come from a cooking class. We were also told that the seasonal drink menu was set to change shortly after our visit, so I look forward to trying these drinks!

When I tell you this is the friendliest service I've ever had at a bar or restaurant, I mean it! All different members of the staff were checking in with us to make sure we were having a good time and enjoying everything. We tried out three of their drinks: enamorada, uno amargo, and their classic frozen mezcal margarita. I say this as someone who is stupid about cocktails, but I think if you're a fan of old fashioneds you'll be a fan of the uno amargo - it'll put some hair on your chest! I loved the frothiness that the egg white brings to the enamorada but I think the frozen margarita was our winner. Imagine your favorite frozen marg but better - the mezcal brings an earthier flavor to a cocktail that us Texans all know and love. Finally for food we had the pato tinga memela, gulf crab tostadas, and carnitas flautas. I genuinely loved them all so much, every protein was so juicy bursting with flavor, which makes sense considering everything is made to order. If I had to pick a favorite I would struggle (I'm not kidding, it was all that good), but I think the crab tostadas won us over with their freshness. We had such a great first visit to bar buena and I can see this quickly becoming a cozy date or after dinner drink spot!

It feels like something Anthony Bourdain would've paused to appreciate that raw, curated vibe that promises more than just a meal. We ordered a spread: chicken wraps, fried chicken, a couple of Ketel One drinks, and finished things off with red velvet cake and bread pudding. On paper, it reads like a lineup that should hit. In reality, it landed somewhere in the middle. Nothing was bad but nothing really sang either. The fried chicken had the right idea but didn't quite deliver that crave-worthy punch. The wraps were fine, the desserts decent, and the drinks did their job. It all felt... acceptable. Like the kitchen understood the assignment but didn't fully commit to it. What stood out most was the contrast the menu is ambitious, the atmosphere pulls you in, but the food doesn't quite translate that same energy to the plate. It's the kind of place you want to love more than you actually do. That said, it's still a solid spot to check out, especially for the vibe and the experience. Just don't walk in expecting fireworks think more along the lines of a slow burn. Overall, I'd call it a decent restaurant that leans more on its aesthetic than its execution.

These are all $17 but the bartender mentioned that they also do a happy hour until 6:30 during which cocktails are $10. I will definitely come back for this another day. We also got the Carajillo shots, a cocktail that we normally enjoy, and while they came in cute little long steamed shot glasses, and were tasty, the strength of the shot was honestly just like a tiny portion of the regular cocktail. I would skip this next time and just get a full size version. Gratuity (20%) is added to all tabs in addition to a credit card processing fee (3%). Parking in Montrose is always a challenge so I would definitely recommend taking an Uber or Lyft. Overall, a solid spot for drinks!

First, the vibe. It is warm, stylish, and very Montrose in the best way. It feels elevated but still relaxed enough to just sit, talk, and enjoy your time without feeling rushed. We came during happy hour and it was such a great deal. I ordered the Sweet Like Peach Tree, which was light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced with the peach and ginger. My husband got the Frozen Paloma and it was just as good, super smooth with the right citrus bite. We also shared the churros and they were honestly a must order. Warm, crispy, and paired with Nutella and caramel. What really made the experience stand out though was our bartender, Manny. He was incredibly welcoming from the moment we sat down, had such a great personality, and made the whole experience feel personal. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and that kind of service is hard to find. He also told us about their upcoming two year anniversary party on May 3rd with rotating live DJs, which sounds like it will be such a fun time. We will definitely be back. Between the drinks, the atmosphere, and the service, this place really gets it right.

It's a little small inside and a small parking lot, but if you're lucky and can walk there, do! The quality of the drinks are really excellent and the burgers have been voted some of the best in town! I can't speak for them, but the drinks and the spot, are phenomenal. They have bingo nights, dj nights, and other themed events that keep the place packed out. Maybe once I try the burgers, it'll be 5 stars, but the smallll parking lot and lack of safe street parking keep me at 4.

Their chicken sandwich is a must try and has gotten well deserved accolades. Perfectly breaded, toasted bun, and very juicy. We paired it with the churro French toast, an almost cloyingly sweet (but perfectly cooked) dish that definitely needed a savory balance. Their bacon is delicious, super thick with a slightly herby flavor. The evening hours can get loud between the crowds and the DJ, but the vibe is still really cool and chill. Definitely one of the more unique, fun spots of the Montrose/Upper Kirby area.

The only unfortunate part of my experience was that the two of us at my table got the same dish - biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was dense but softened under the rich and savory gravy, and I got my eggs over easy to get the yolk mixed in. I also added some of their house-made habanero curry hot sauce, which is absolutely delicious. I'll definitely have to try a few other dishes next time! Their coffees are also great, with unique flavors for their lattes like spiced guava and molasses. Both of these were super tasty, hot and iced! Ultimately 93' Til is staying on my brunch list as a top tier choice, I can't wait to come back!
