Decent "grown up" dining near our meeting hotel in Harrisburg. Very nice steak and fresh seafood options. Plus our one friend is vegetarian and she was happy with her choices too. My fresh halibut special super good, served with perfectly cooked broccoli. Two colleagues had different steaks. They enjoyed. Another had fresh seafood over pasta--also looked bountiful. Three had desserts including key lime pie. But the dessert hit was a gigantic serving of fried ice cream served in a tortilla bowl. Modern setting and tables spaced apart nicely. But what is key for a steak place like this: yes, good house salad with blue cheese dressing. They did that right to.

100% I will return time after time for those oysters Louie. The most delicious oysters, bite-sized mouthfuls of taste explosion in your mouth. I seriously could eat three plates of these oysters. Enough about the app, the meal itself was delicious. Steak cooked perfectly, way too much food. The restaurant was extremely busy on a Friday night so plan ahead. Jeffrey, our bartender, is always pleasant and a pro at what he does. It is an expensive restaurant for dinner, but you get what you pay for. Get the oysters Louie if you like creamed spinach. Try it even if you don't like spinach, you might be pleasantly surprised. The touch of hot sauce makes this dish. I'll be dreaming about those oysters until my next visit!

2 ate for 86.92 before tip including a dessert. The Clam Chowder soup was fabulous - full of clam - no fishy taste - the salmon Gorgonzola with sautéed spinach was incredible. Excellent food - inside was very nice - nice ambiance. Excellent service!

I was here for an event, so my review is skewed. Fried shrimp with coconut sauce and bruschetta were served during cocktail hour. The shrimp were very large, so large that I question where they were from. You don't even see shrimp that big at your local seafood store. For dinner we had our choice of filet mignon or a vegetarian eggplant dish. I went for the filet. The steak was mediocre. But I get it, you are serving 50+ people, it's not a fine dining restaurant, and your goal is consistency and speed. Some were as hard as hockey pucks and others so rare that there was puddle of blood on the plate.

    This is worth it!

I have been here maybe 12 times in the last 2 years and I will say it is consistantly good. I have only had the fish and chips, burgers, and today deep fried ice cream! One thing I like is they have a table in the vestibule where someone puts uses paperbacks. Today i brought some Spenser and Louis Lamour and 90% of them had been taken by the time I left. I know this is a quirky thing, but it shows that the place isnt "corporate" and I like that. The waitress we had was excellent and parking is simple. This place feels old school. Highly recommend the fish & chips and the fried ice cream.

But this place is much more than beer, and I can't recommend it enough. First, there is a bar completely separate from the eating area, so you can choose what experience you want. Second, I've known that all their beers are top notch, which is why I wanted to come here. I'm not an IPA guy, but the black IPA is some top notch stuff that anyone can appreciate. Not super hoppy, really well balanced. Blonde stout is another superb creation, Lancaster gets some depth into it that many other breweries can't manage. Third, if you want food, they learned from the Food Network and limited their menu to just a few choices, all excellently prepared. I ordered the Angry Mac with gator meat. It had excellent flavor, they made it spicier like I asked, and unlike most places they provided plenty of meat. Great quantity and great taste that I wasn't expecting. I tasted my friend's polenta and it was perfectly balanced with some cheese, not too salty. I could eat that for days. Finally, Eva, our waitress? Wonderful. My friend and I were weighing dessert, we wanted a brownie but not the whole hot fudge brownie sundae. Eva made it work and even split it between heated and cold. What a great server. Props to Eva! To get this quality of food, this quality of beer, this quality of service, and this quality of ambiance all in one? No wonder my friend was willing to go two days in a row. I need a Lancaster Brewing in my town.

We are glad we finally did. 1762 was formerly known as The Warwick Hotel, and that's the prominent markings you'll see from the street. It is a really excellent spot on the square in Hummelstown with cozy charm and exceptional service. My companion was initially skeptical when she saw wine on tap but immediately changed her mind when she saw the offerings--good quality and reasonable price point. The beer selection is also good. Not a huge number of beers but well-selected. Although we didn't have a full meal we did enjoy the sausage and honey appetizer, which was outrageously tasty with sausage from a local butcher in Hershey. Service was efficient and friendly, especially considering the bar (where we sat) was hopping. We also met the owner, Dave, who rolled up his sleeves to assist at the bar while also personally greeting customers. Our biggest regret is that we waited so long to finally visit...and we'll definitely be back soon.

It's fun, relaxed, and the kind of place you can easily lose track of time in. What really stood out early on was the service. Our waitress was not only attentive, but genuinely helpful--honest, informative, and confident in her recommendations. Since there's no drink menu, she guided us toward what they do best, including the espresso martini. I appreciated the direction... but the drink itself didn't quite match the expectation. I was hoping for something silky, rich, and indulgent--almost dessert-like--but it landed closer to a pre-mixed version. Not bad, just not memorable. The menu is extensive and reasonably priced, which makes it approachable without sacrificing variety. Now, the highlight--my Black n' Bleu Delmonico, cooked medium. This dish delivered. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the bleu cheese garlic butter added a savory, melt-in-your-mouth richness that made each bite better than the last. It paired beautifully with the soft baked sweet potato--simple, comforting, and exactly what it needed to be. We started with loaded fries, and honestly... dangerously addictive. Crispy, flavorful, and the kind of appetizer you keep reaching for without realizing how much you've eaten. My husband went with the surf and turf--filet mignon and lobster tail. The lobster was a standout: buttery, tender, and cooked just right. The filet, though cooked to his liking, lacked seasoning and depth. It needed more intention--something to bring it to life beyond just butter. Overall, Gilligan's nails what matters most for a place like this--great atmosphere, strong service, and food that has real moments of excellence. It's the kind of spot you go to unwind, catch a game, and enjoy a solid meal in a lively, welcoming setting.

With the next batch, they started giving food to the next table before finishing ours. So the atmosphere was nice, the service was decent, but sadly the food was underwhelming. For this price point I was hoping to get more food on my plate - my lunch was gone within 5 bites and each bite cost multiple dollars. I have considered a Five Guys burger as convenient comfort food and my go-to on business lunches that turn into business dinners. These are not cheap burgers. They are not bad burgers, either. They are a mix between the familiar fast food burger and the county fair fatburger one can get - both taste tantalizingly unhealthy but tasty. The fries are shoveled into every bag and are usually quite salty and good. I love that I can coat them with the burger topings that just overflow from under the soft bun. These are greasy, heavy burgers. I love a good burger, but the after-effects can be significant, so if you can tolerate carrying a third or half a pound of burger and fries for a while, that's great. If not, you may want to consider the lighter fare available around the center. Delivery means soggy bags. You roll the dice when placing an order. Cold Five Guys is not good. Soggy bags mean soggy fries. Beware. I don't get the peanuts, but they are free and piled up for the taking. So if you're a big fan of de-shelling free legumes, this is the place to hit up. The service has been hit or miss. It has never been terrible, but I've gone in on days it feels like the owner is watching from somewhere, and others where I feel like I'm interrupting a private party behind the counter. It is inconsistent, but I've never had that impact the quality of the product, just maybe how long it takes them between chats to move my order to the next step. If I find myself in the area, I pause before committing because the dine-in turnaround is often long, and it isn't exactly the most comfortable dining area. The dining room is a self-congratulatory gallery of how amazing Five Guys is through press clippings, customer comment cards, and reviews. My dudes, I am already in the restaurant, and you have my money. I don't need to read how awesome you think you are. Just prove it with the noms. The ugly bathroom/cafeteria aesthetic is not inviting. The chairs are uncomfortable. It's not ironically charming. It's just ugly. Overall, if you love sloppy burgers that taste like they are made by that neighbor in your cul-de-sac who KNOWS how to grill at a block party, this is a slightly over-priced but tasty option to capture that flavor. Just pretend that extra cost went into the mountain of fries you'll be digesting for the next week.
