Good dinner with great company A few of us went to Leeds for a company dinner and we did receive good service and I did like the eclectic acoustic music that was played. We had great drinks. The rolls were hot from the oven. I had the Tuna cocktail martini. the lime vinaigrette was awesome finish to the seared tuna and avocado. I also had the spinach salad with the warm bacon dressing. One of my colleagues had the scallops and had to be sent back for being overcooked, he ordered the four seasons which he said was absolutely great. My wife and I had dinner here on a Monday evening. Atmosphere was very nice and service was prompt. We had bruschetta as an appetizer and it was very good. My wife got Chicken Parmigiana for her entree and I got Fish tacos with fries. Both items came out quickly and there was plenty for each of us to take home. I've been to Leeds numerous times over the past few years. My wife and I attend MS(multiple sclerosis) live events on a regular basis here. The events include dinner(salad, main course, and dessert). The food is usually pretty good. I've had Chicken Marsala and Filet Mignon recently, and they were both great. The waitresses are always very nice! And the atmosphere is very warm and comfortable. There is also a bar, which I have yet to take advantage of. Give Leed's a try if you are in the area! read more

So pleased to dine here again as I would often visit while in town for business! I was happy to see the crab cakes were still on the menu and they were as good as I last recalled. All crabmeat with no filler and a nice size for a single one although you can order two. Several salad dressings are home made and I chose the balsamic which was very good and had a slight sweetness to it. Roasted potatoes were one of the sides and they were a medley of purple, sweet and white potatoes. What I really enjoyed was the friendly waitress, Sue, who has been with the establishment for many years along with the chef. Nothing redeemable about this place. The food was not tasty, staff didn't seem competent, and worst of all, it was seemingly overpriced for lack luster food. I ordered the fra diavolo sauce with some linguini and asked for a lobster with it since the waitress insisted they were known for their seafood. I was served 2 tablespoons of pasta with a lobster tail on the side that was so over cooked, I literally bounced it on the table like a ball. The only redeeming aspect of this entire evening was the dinner being taken off my bill. I ordered in from the hotel across the street and wasn't sure what to expect but it was pleasantly delicious. They were great on the phone and delivered in about 25-30 minutes as promised. The caeser salad was delicious but the crab cake broiled was by far the yummiest part of the meal. For the main I ordered the filet medium and it was cooked perfectly, could have used a little salt and pepper but the mushrooms on top made up for a little flavor. One of the best options in this culinarily-depraved area for traveling business people. Nice old-school dark-wood bar atmosphere, attentive and friendly bartenders and staff. Good stiff drinks and draft beer selection. My crab bisque was tasty, but lacked any noticeable crab meat (fail). My broiled scallops were excellent. The accompanying salad was fresh and crisp, the baked potato was done to perfection, but the bagged frozen vegetable medley was a major fail. You should serve fresh veggies if you're going to charge $26/entree, especially in Harrisburg. Would I go back? Sure. Much better option than Friday's, Chili's or Ruby Tuesday chain-hell. read more

I have twenty years of excellent dining experiences at Leeds, dating back to before the expansion around 2002. So, as a local, let me comment on these. Food: Consistently excellent. In the seafood realm (mentioned by several folks from other states, who were staying at the area hotels, one-time guests, if you will): Crab cakes are the best restaurant crab cakes I've ever encountered. I am a bit of a crab cake aficionado, my family coming out of Baltimore, MD, the crab cake capital of the world. Chilean Sea Bass is a light white fish topped with a sweet glaze, served on a bed of spinach. The tartness of the spinach combines with the sweetness of the glaze to create an excellent taste experience. The scallops are plentiful, moist and delicious. Seafood Chemise has been praised in several other reviews. Chicken dishes are excellent, I'm partial to the Parm. The pasta selections ( I have had most) are robust and satisfying. The steaks are of quality. Lunch selections are many and satisfying. Service: Excellent. People going to Leed's, once and reviewing, have not had the opportunity to understand that the staff is like a family, with many long term. Every staffer is a pro, enhancing the experience. Ambiance: Very good. Three dining areas are available, "Old Leeds" to the left, primarily wooden booths and circular tables, bar area to the right which contains a small dining area, and the main dining room, opened in approximately 2002. The main area's Christmas decorations, assembled by the staff, are beautiful. In the past five years we have entertained about 30 guests at Leeds. Their unsolicited affirmations of praise say it all. No team effort is without the occasional fumble, even the Patriots have yet to play a perfect game. But like the Patriots, Leeds is the restaurant equivalent of a Super Bowl champion. read more

I had the spicy meatball with Angel Hair. I asked to substitute the Angel Hair for Linguine, they said no problem, meal came out with Angel Hair. The sauce had no flavor, the pasta was mush and they broke it in half. Felt like I was a 5year old that had his pasta cut up for him. The meatball was more breadcrumbs than meat. Their Penne Rustiche is SO incredibly good! I was staying at the Courtyard Marriot, which is right across the street, and I ordered this dish. As a vegetarian, I am always on the lookout for good food. It was SO GOOD! The order was ready quickly and the wait staff were incredibly nice! 6 of us had a wonderful meal and evening at Leeds the other night. Welcomed at the door, quickly seated (no reservation), we were welcomed as guests. The decor is spacious and the space a bit noisy. Excellent! A buddy and I went to Leeds on a Wednesday night. The parking lot was full of cars, which is always a good sign. Brad was our waiter and he attentive and helpful. He recommended a Cabernet for me and the Black and Blue Filet. An 8 oz cut with melted blue cheese. Fantastic! The bruschetta was fresh and flavorful. Met a business connection here last night. Has a very large bar area and two different seating areas. The greeter was very nice as was our waitress. I had the salmon gorgonzola. It was excellent. Nice portion of salmon with fresh steamed spinach over the top and then on top of that a gorgonzola cream sauce. It was a very nice combined taste. On the side were potato wedges cooked perfectly. I was staying across the street at the Courtyard and decided to drop in vs. drive around in the rain looking for another spot for dinner. The reviews are accurate, this place is a bit old in terms of decor and clientele, BUT, Ben was a fantastic bartender and server, the food was good - no complaints. They have a very good diverse menu. If they can update the decor just a bit and I would suggest having a host/hostess to greet and THANK customers that would help them out tremendously. It was odd not having anyone at the front door to great or thank you. All in all a really good experience if you can just look past some of the aging decor. Everything was delicious. We had the coconut shrimp and oyster louie apps...they were amazing. Then we had crab cakes and miso glazed Chilean seabass...great choices. For dessert we shared a piece of homemade chocolate cake with peanut butter icing...very good and big piece. They had some nice beers on tap. I had a few bells 2 hearted ales. They also have a really nice wine list. Our server Holly was prompt and very knowledgeable when when trying to make our selections. I'll definitely be back. Leeds is a quirky, but generally enjoyable restaurant which approaches the level of fine dining. Clearly consistent is their service, which is cordial, friendly and attentive. I've eaten here at least 15 times and only had a reservation when we had a party of 10; never a delay in being seated. Aside from the quirkiness, which I'll address in a moment, most menu items display a high ingredient quality and moderate skill in the kitchen. Their portion sizes are somewhat small for their prices, but Leeds does serve a fine dining niche which is underrepresented in the area. The first idiosyncrasy, which is hardly unique in this part of the world, is a stubbornly maintained prejudice against beef cooked to less than the mid-well stage. You really have to stress the point if you enjoy a steak or roast cooked to a lesser degree of doneness, and the reaction of your waiter may approach the level reserved for evidences of demonic possession. Repeating "medium rare" four times when placing your order is still no better than a 50/50 that it won't be delivered medium (or mid-well). The other quirk, one which I believe to be unique to Leeds, is their vision of what creamed spinach should look like. Much to my disbelief, I've been served a small saucer of warmed milk with a pile of whole (unstemmed) spinach leaves. These quibbles aside, Leeds is one of the 2 or 3 best restaurants in the area and a place which I would return to. read more
