Every year I go to their Easter buffet. 2026 is the worst. Not much selections. The staff was great. But the food wasn't. Desert table consisted of either small cube (one bite size) of either chocolate or carrot cake. Nothing else. Other years was worth paying the high price. The bread selection trays were always empty, unless you like rye and pumpernickle. After paying for 5 adults and one child, Over $200, plus tax and tips, I was extremely disappointed. I did, however give my waitress $30 tip for her great service. Next year, I'll still take the family to Easter brunch, but not at Caddyshack. read more

The last time I was there the food was terrible. I had a hamburger that tasted like shoe leather. Actually I am no longer impressed with any of their food. It seems to have all gone down hill. Can't anyone make a hamburger that is well done without tasting like shoe leather?? I can, perhaps I should work in the kitchen. As for service. I am so sick and tired of the same old guy waiting on me. Every time I go there it's him. How about some young blood! Get those young servers in the kitchen to come out and wait on tables. I am sure they could make a ton of tips. Have wait staff that actually engages the customers. We used to love this place but things have really gone downhill. The wait staff is really friendly but the long wait for food can be a bit of an issue. The real problem though was the cooking and a potential health hazard. My family recently went to eat and ordered med well burgers. My son bit into the burger only to find it was completely raw. Not even rare but raw. I got the waitresses attention and she put the order in again only for another 30 minute wait for the replacement burger......only for the burger to be completely different than the original I ordered. There are a lot of good pub food places out there. Save yourself from getting sick and go somewhere else. The cool staff really needs to get it together bc our waitress was wonderful read more

It was pretty good, but ultimately I wished that I had gotten something different. The sangria I had was alright, the fruit in it wasn't fresh, I could tell it was from a can. We had a large group of 20+ people. No worries @ Caddy Shack! We did call them a couple days ahead of time to let them know what time we would arrive. We were sat in the back part of the restaurant in a "room", but had a large door/window opening to see the TV's, etc. At our table (we had 5 of them), we started with this HUGE soft Pretzel. Oh my was it HOT, SOFT and Wicked Good! Loved the horseradish/mustard sauce. For me, I had the Fish and Chips, and she also had the Fish and Chips. Not sure who's sizing the portions, or what size fish was in the breading, but man it was BIG and Tasty! Fries were great too. Service? We went here because we had won a Gift card at a benefit. We weren't sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised. We were able to sit outside and watch the golfers which is quite entertaining. I have the veggie burger, which was so delicious you would've thought it was a crabcake. This is a restaurant for us normal people as well as those of you that like a pint and a bite to eat after chasing a little white ball around a nicely manicured lawn while wearing cute little sun visors and shoes with thumb tacks on the bottom. Just kidding. It's a great local eatery. Food is what you'd expect from a golf course restaurant atmosphere. Family friendly, lots of after golf noshers, good selection of cold beers, and decent prices. They have daily specials for things like shrimp, clams, steaks, and wings. The wings are worth a trip. You even get to order them by a bucket that has a gopher on it (remember the movie . . . Caddy Shack . . . are you old enough to remember?). The bucket is great for use around the house when the wings are long gone. In the summer they have $1 burgers on Sundays. That's reason enough to sneak out of church early. Their best food is their "pub" food: the nachos, the wings, the beer, the artery clogging shack fries, the wings, the wings, the wings (did I mention the wings?), the burgers, the wings. All of the wing sauces are worth a try - they're all good, it just comes down to personal preference. Word of warning, you should mention that you want your wings to be well sauced. Sometimes they are served with too little and you spend your time trying to cover them before you eat them. The kid menu is great - everything except the ribs is $3.50 when I last checked and that included a drink. They have a big list of specials. People say the desserts are good, but I've never had room after food and beer. read more

Banquet manager Karen B. is unbelievably accommodating, even willing to make sure guests with special dietary needs have the proper food. Was feeling adventurous on 7/9/18 - ordered the PB&J wings. On paper they sounded good, but the product on the plate was quite horrible. So why 3-stars? I've had over 10 lunches over the last 7-8 years and they've been pretty decent. The chicken wings, if you can call it that, were full of bones where the meat is supposed to be. The quality of the wing itself was bad. The sauce is supposed to be a peanut sauce similar to a Thai satay sauce. This tasted thick, liquid peanut butter. It's supposed to be served with a raspberry vinaigrette dipping sauce. The combination of wing and dip made the dish too sweet, not in a good way. Did I mention the celery - it was good! Now I remember why we stopped coming here. Came back for the first time in a few years last night. I ordered the "Rocky" burger. It's a burger with salami, sautéed onion, and sharp provolone on an onion roll. So much potential. The burger came out with one of those little red plastic sticks that said "rare" on it. No idea why as I was never asked what temp I wanted my burger. It turned out to be pretty funny as the burger was hammered. Absolutely hammered. Like, it was once a piece of meat that had been chemically transformed into plastic hammered. The burger itself was carbonized on one side. The salami was magically turned into beef jerky. There was three onions on the whole thing. It was easily among the worst burgers I've ever had and I couldn't even eat it since it hurt my teeth. My daughter and hubby liked their fish and chips, so that's a plus. But dear lord, please learn how to cook a simple burger. read more

What a difference a few weeks makes. We loved the wings on our first visit, but on our return they were different--dry with no sauce. My husband liked the steak Diane I ordered the last time, so he ordered it this time. He gave me a taste and I was shocked to taste a sweet, Marsala-type sauce--once again, entirely different and unpleasant, I might add. I ordered Chicken Oscar. The "hollandaise" was clumpy and coagulated and tasted more like a butter sauce than a hollandaise. I doubt we'll be back after this bad experience and it's a shame. Did they change cooks? We come to the Caddy Shack for our family's annual "finalizing our thanksgiving plans while eating cheap food" dinner. We enjoy the ritual and taking advantage of the November Customer Appreciation Month 50% off dinner menu. Its usually a good crowd when we go and the menu is pretty varied with yummy things both on and off the special's menu. The service is very friendly and efficient and its just an overall good time. Usually I get the steak and although its a little fatty, its tasty and it comes with your choice of starch or vegetable and a salad which is actually quite good. They have a good selection of dressing and yummy croutons. The wings are good and crispy and the fries are good too. We also had the chicken parmesan which was a hit with everyone and the kids had pizza which was remarkable. Overall this is a fun place to go and especially fun when its customer appreciation time. read more

Returning customer of many years. Called this past Friday night (June 5th) for call ahead seating and had the MOST unpleasant "girl" (although she sounded in her 30s, her behavior was that of an adolescent girl) named Heather on the phone. She was extremely rude and at one point turned to a co-worker during the phone call to mumble "oh my god" because I was taking up her seemingly valuable time with a simple question about how busy they were. Having grown up in Mechanicsburg, caddy shack was always a go-to for a good time and decent food, but after that pathetic display of customer service I will not be back. Twenty year loyal customer down the drain. ...Oh and Heather, find a new line of work, sweetheart. Quite frankly, you're not cut out for any job that requires human interaction. We have gotten take out a few times over the pandemic and their timing is always right, food order is always correct and easy to get safe pick-up. But what I really came to rave about is the portobello sandwich. The mushroom caps are huge! Combine that with a fresh pretzel roll that soaks in all the good juices and it is awesome. You can also customize so for veggie lovers like me adding grilled peppers and onions are right up my alley. First the good- my husband enjoyed his pretzel appetizer. It was huge and the horseradish dip was really good. He had fish and chips minus the chips and up charged for onion rings. He said if he had never had Duke's he would rate them pretty high however, there is no comparison to Duke's. Dukes gives you 3 large fish fillets and he said the onion rings are also better at Duke's. I had the little neck clams. They were served with melted margarine-yuck! The Napa chicken salad was 5 star. It was uncomfortable also hearing the kitchen staff using the f word and saying "this place is crazy"! Our waiter also wasn't very friendly. We won't be coming back. Addendum- still sitting here and kitchen staff said "instead of watching the game, I watched porno on my Firestick". Now I know there will always be talk amongst workers that may be colorful but if you are in hearing distance of customers it should be toned down quite a bit more! Had dinner here with a friend today. Was my first time, may be the last. The restaurant is on the second floor but there is no sign indicating that so we had to stop a golfer and ask where to access it. (Up a flight of steps) The restaurant sign is on the first floor. We both got the NY strip, both asked for med well. Mine was right, hers was rare. We switched steaks rather than send hers back. The steaks were mostly grisly but a few good bites. The side salad and cole slaw was good as was the iced tea. Her fries were good but my onion rings were soggy with grease and had very little onion inside. If I went back to this place, I would not get a dinner and since I don't do sandwiches much, when I go out, I don't see a return visit here for some time. Hear their wings are good but I don't do wings either. When I go out, I like to have a cooked meal and I like to have something I don't make at home, like steak or seafood. This place is obviously known for more simple fare like wings and burgers. read more

We placed a curbside pickup order and when we arrived no one there, including employees or customers, were wearing masks or other protective gear and there was no social distancing. We were shocked! The food and service were good (again it was a takeout order) but we are required to wear masks in public and follow social distancing guidelines even in the green phase. We will not return to the Caddy Shack until we find out that they are follwing the appropriate guidelines, as it's not worth the risk! read more
