We used to love this place but things have really gone downhill. The wait staff is really friendly but the long wait for food can be a bit of an issue. The real problem though was the cooking and a potential health hazard. My family recently went to eat and ordered med well burgers. My son bit into the burger only to find it was completely raw. Not even rare but raw. I got the waitresses attention and she put the order in again only for another 30 minute wait for the replacement burger......only for the burger to be completely different than the original I ordered. There are a lot of good pub food places out there. Save yourself from getting sick and go somewhere else. The cool staff really needs to get it together bc our waitress was wonderful

AMAZING service and atmosphere! The bartender Michelle was so sweet and welcoming! The food here was most excellent, and the fact that there's sweet potato fries here will keep me coming back time and time again! Good job guys

The Soul rendering Gopher that ruined my childhood!

My time there was great! The manager told me the story of Denny Sealover and Ms. Mitchell is a great waitress and I found the most soul rendering image on the wall that scared me in my childhood and here it is!:

Naturally, I had already done my due diligence (read: stalked the menu for a full week) and had a game plan. At the top of my list? The deviled eggs and the Kale Caesar salad with salmon. The only problem...I absolutely did not need $40 worth of food for lunch. So I quietly spent the week putting "deviled egg energy" out into the Universe, hoping my lunch partner would suggest splitting them. Manifestation is real, people. I arrived around 12pm and found plenty of parking out back in Watershed's designated lot, which is clearly labeled--a good thing, because parking in that area looks like it could get competitive if you're not paying attention. We had made a 12:15pm reservation (Monday lunch felt safe, but why risk it?), and our table on the enclosed patio was ready when we arrived. It was the perfect setup--sunny and bright, but still warm enough to be comfortable on a chilly day. The vibe was great, and our server was even better--friendly, attentive, and consistently checking in without being overbearing. Then it was time to order. I let my lunch partner go first and waited... "Do you want to try the deviled eggs as an appetizer?" Are you kidding me?!. YES. Yes, I did! We ordered the deviled eggs ($11) to share, and I followed through with my Kale Caesar salad ($15) topped with seared salmon (+$13), officially completing my week-long menu-stalking mission. The deviled eggs came out FAST, and in my excitement, I completely forgot to take a picture--which tells you everything you need to know. Each egg was topped with a cube of candied bacon that absolutely stole the show. Sweet, savory, and just the right texture to complement the creamy filling. We made quick work of all four--excellent start to the meal! Not long after, our lunches arrived, and my salad? Gorgeous. Like, actually exciting to look at. I dug in immediately and it delivered. The mix of shaved brussels sprouts, kale, and romaine gave it great texture, the dressing was well-balanced, and the red onion didn't overpower the rest of the flavors. But my favorite part? The garlic parmesan crouton crumble. No chasing rogue croutons around the plate--just perfectly distributed crunch in every bite. Genius! The portion size was generous, too--I made it through about half before calling it and boxing the rest for dinner later. By the time we were wrapping up, the enclosed patio had filled up significantly, which tells me this is a popular lunch spot--and for good reason. The food is solid, the atmosphere is great, and the service was spot on. That said...$40 for deviled eggs, a salad and water is a bit steep for an everyday lunch. For me, this feels more like a "treat yourself," client meeting, or special occasion kind of place rather than a regular rotation spot. Would I come back? Absolutely. Would I be casually popping in every week? Probably not. But those deviled eggs? Totally worth manifesting!

Despite how busy it was, the wait for food was only about 20 minutes--which, surprisingly, is the longest I've ever waited there. Even more surprising, the food arrived noticeably before the drinks, which was a little perplexing but didn't take away from the overall experience. We ordered a kids' egg sandwich with extra chocolatey chocolate milk, which was a hit. My breakfast companion went with the classic breakfast--two dippy eggs, bacon, wheat toast, and grits--along with a mocha latte. Everything was hot, fresh, and exactly what you want from a cozy brunch spot. This was also the first time I've ever sat in the dining room to eat. It wasn't a bad experience at all, especially with the festive holiday décor adding to the atmosphere--but if I'm being honest, warm-weather porch seating is definitely my favorite way to enjoy Valley Bistro. Crowded for a reason, consistently good, and always worth the visit--Valley Bistro continues to be one of my go-to brunch spots.

The Review: Men in the Kitchen…read more My reviews are different. I do not announce myself or tell anyone. I am here to do a review!! It was a rainy Sunday, and I was working up a hunger while driving Uber for content. I went to three different spots before I finally found the place I should've gone to first. The food and atmosphere at this restaurant are so good that I want to find another establishment just like it, but so far--at least on this day--nothing in the area can beat it. I don't know why I treat this restaurant like a good wife that a man might constantly cheat on but always returns to. I'm not saying that I actually cheat; I'm just using that for context! So, I found myself once again at Two Men in the Kitchen. Since it was Easter Sunday, they offered a buffet or a special limited menu. There was fish and chicken wings available, and I chose the wings. Since I don't eat meat often, I asked for their "House Sauce," and it is by far amazing. I paired the wings with the 3-cheese baked mac & cheese and sweet potatoes. I went for the sides first because I wanted to save the best for last--I already knew that house sauce was going to be incredible, especially on the chicken and greens eggrolls they have. The mac & cheese was great; it had a crunchy outside yet remained soft in the middle, and the cheese pull was amazing. The sweet potatoes were definitely homemade; I could tell because every slice was a different cut, which I appreciate because it proves they didn't come out of a can. Now for the best part: the chicken wings. They were cooked perfectly--neither overdone nor underdone, with no pink on the inside. Everything was pure. I did happen to taste a little bit of Old Bay on the wings, so I asked the chef if that was part of the secret seasoning. He said no, so maybe someone slipped some in by accident, but it didn't stop me from indulging. I also ordered one of their house special drinks--a Hennessy and rum cocktail. It was a very pretty drink, but unfortunately, I am not a fan of Hennessy. Personally, I think it tastes like house keys or licking a brass knob when you're a kid. On my scale, the drink was a 2 out of 5; I just don't think rum and cognac should mix, but that's just my opinion. The atmosphere was amazing and the bathrooms were clean. I will definitely visit this place again and again, although sometimes it is hard to tell if they are open because of the heavily tinted windows. For those who know the area, this is the old firehouse in Harrisburg. I was told that on the weekends, they clear some tables to create a dance floor, which is a nice touch. There is plenty of bar seating and booths, making it a kid-friendly environment. The only thing I don't like--which applies to every restaurant on 2nd Street--is that it's very hard to find parking. You have to do it online, via text, and it won't allow you to purchase any time less than an hour. Kinda sucks for those carrying out. Totally not the restaurant's fault though. I got the jerk quesadilla without the jerk ranch sauce. They don't serve this or their regular quesadilla with salsa or pica de gallo so it does taste a little bland. The jerk flavor isn't coming thru for me. It's a little disappointing but it's also just a quesadilla so I don't expect much. I'm not deterred though. I'd be interested in trying more on the menu. It seemed like a cozy place to sit and eat. I'd also like to eat there on my next visit. I'll update my review when I do.

The space has an energetic, bustling feel, and you can sense the servers moving in full hustle mode to keep everything flowing. We started with the calamari. The portion was generous, but it leaned more "standard" than standout--crispy and easy to share, but nothing that really left an impression. For my entrée, I ordered the Monster Burger with sweet potato fries. It definitely lives up to its name--big and hearty--but the execution felt off. The patties were oversized to the point that they overpowered everything else. The ratios just weren't there--not enough BBQ sauce or fried onions to balance it out. It ended up tasting more like bites of beef and bread rather than a layered, flavorful burger. My husband ordered the crab cakes, and this was the highlight of the meal. The texture was impressive--almost like a crab "cheesecake," dense, rich, and clearly made with minimal filler. You could tell it was quality. That said, for the price, the dish felt like it missed an opportunity. Pairing it with sweet potato fries and coleslaw kept it casual, when it could've been elevated with vegetables and something like mashed potatoes to better match the dish itself. And the sweet potato fries--this is where it really fell flat. They lacked that natural sweetness you expect and instead came across bland and a bit forgettable. No real depth, no contrast--just kind of there. For drinks, I had the blueberry blackberry mojito. It was fresh and enjoyable, but like other parts of the meal, it felt like it was missing something to fully bring it together. One nice touch was being able to see the cooks in action--it adds a level of energy and transparency that enhances the experience. Overall, the portions are big and the prices reflect that, but the food didn't quite deliver the "wow" factor to match. Black N Bleu has the presence and the potential--but for me, it just missed the mark on flavor and balance enough that I wouldn't rush back.

We used to take the kids here, there was something for everybody and a fun atmosphere. Fast forward a few years and this place has really gone downhill. Three staff was all very young and seemed to be in a rush. OK - we can deal with that, although it wasn't even as crowded as usual on a Sunday night. We ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich (which was listed under handhelds), with the "chilli mango coleslaw" option. We also had a pork belly sandwich and smash burger for our toddler. We weren't given an option to get that medium and wete told "it just comes one way" "because it's smashed". Other restaurants always ask you how you want your burgers even if it's listed as a smash but ok - I can also live with this. The last thing we ordered we a Buffalo chicken wedge salad to share. It ended up being our undoing for the evening and the straw that broke the camels back. The "Nashville" chicken sandwich was a greasy, thin slice of completely unseasoned chicken. It wasn't spicy like it said, it was pretty soft and soggy instead of crunchy, and was totally unsalted. It was worse than when I was doing no salt from a high bp diet post partum. :( the bread fell apart and was sopping wet... I guess from some pickles and lettuce on the bottom of the sandwich? It was anything but handheld and so I ended up just scraping what chicken off I could and leaving the rest. My "chili mango" coleslaw had no mango, no spice, and was just regular plain, unsalted cole slaw. I recieved 2 teaspoons of this in a plastic cup on the side and regretted not ordering the fries instead, which looked to be a good portion size on my husbands entreé. My food order was terrible overall. 0/10 My husband said he liked his sandwich. The fries were a 6/10 because they were crunchy but they were cold. Our kids menu smash burger was all grease, and came well done. Our kid ate a few fries and they were less greasy. 3/10 The worst part of the meal was the salad... The Buffalo chicken was tasty, but the whole salad was onions and sopping in dressing. We then found a black molded rotten tomato and honestly we were sick to our stomachs after that. Like I was insisting the salad at that point and ended up finding that but what else did we already eat that was just totally rotten ?? 2/10 only for the chicken salvaging the flavor for this dish. When we told the waitress that this was distressing, like we came out to get our of the house with our baby and this was the meal (so disappointing) she did not automatically offer to take the rotten salad off the bill. We asked her to please remove it, and to her credit she did so after putting us in an awkward position to have to ask at all. We liked that this place supports local artists. For that, 2 stars For these reasons though above we will not be back here for dinner. Sorry Evergrain, we will miss you!
