Updating review to share my no chip manicure chipped by day 5. And other nails are already lifting. Quality is sadly not good. My husband and I moved to Winfield last year, and I wanted to see if I could find a nail salon right in my community vs my old one, so wanted to try Lee Nails! I was excited to see if this would be my new nail salon. It never feels good writing reviews that aren't favorable, but it's essential so businesses can hopefully get better. And sorry this is long but there's a lot to talk about. Pros: 5 minutes from me, clean and pretty salon, really nice pedicure chairs, one of the ladies who I am assuming was a manager was very kind. My cuticles look good. I called this morning and asked if they accept walk ins. The guy said yes, but was going to make an appointment. Perfect! I told him I wanted a no chip mani and a pedi, however, their website doesn't give descriptions on what the pedis include, so asked if it was ok to pick which pedi I wanted once I got there. He said yes. He asked me what time I wanted to come in, I asked him what time worked best for them, he didn't tell me and asked again about what time I wanted. I asked him if noon would work and he said yes. I arrived and decided on doing the Luxe Pedicure. I wanted to relax and that pedicure sounded lovely. They immediately sat me in a chair. The chairs were really nice and I was so excited for the chair massage. The guy gave me the colors while my feet were soaking, told him my choice and good to go. As I'm sitting there the woman who did my pedi came and then the guy who ended up doing my no chip came to me and asked for my hand. I'm thinking oh ok maybe he's just doing the cuticle work first so once I'm done with my pedicure he can paint my nails. No. My service ended up being combined without my knowledge and I did not ask for this. I've been going to nail salons for over 20 years, and never once have I had services combined. If this service was going to be combined, they should have told me and asked if that is ok when I called, since this is not the norm. I would have gone to my normal salon if this was the case, and tried Lee next time. Once I realized what was happening, I was just so incredibly sad, and he was already into the mani too deep for me to say wait, I don't want this done at the same time. I came to relax. I came to just have some me time, and I sadly didn't get that. Had I have known this was going to be a combined service when there, I never would have opted for the more luxurious pedi. I couldn't relax in my chair and enjoy this pedi with the massage and all that's involved with it. The guy doing my nails even changed the settings on my massage chair to lower so I couldn't even enjoy the massage chair. At this point I was just so sad. When I looked at my nails my thumbs are uneven. One is much shorter than the other. I know this happened because he gave me this no chip in the pedicure chair. No way for him to look at the nails to ensure they're even. When I was done and my toes were drying I noticed they looked matte and not shiney. I asked if the girl could add another layer of top coat to see if that would help. She first tells me it's not shiney because it's regular polish. What? No. Come on now. This has never happened to me before. And I told her that. Then she says this brand used isn't very good and I should choose DND I think she said next time. If you knew this polish wasn't shiney and knew this brand isn't as good, why carry it? Why not tell me, you recommend this brand over that brand or I could have even picked a regular polish off the wall that was a close match. I don't know the brands when I'm just given the colors. As I was checking out, I left the 20% tip on my card. I wrote 2 lines for mani and pedi so each person got their tip. I was writing the total after tip and the guy who did my no chip just goes it's ok and takes the receipt away. I did not appreciate that. So I wrote it on my copy and will pay attention to my statements. These actions are why I will not be returning to Lee Nails. I'm so bummed. read more

Horrid service. Pedicure, asked for a basic flower on big toes and was a disaster. They looked totally differant from each other and was very hard to communicate my disappointment. Then she said i was dry and she slid shoes on and messed up big toes and the way to fix is smudge it with your thumb!!! Will never go back read more

Sadly never coming here again this was my go-to spot but today I got dip with nail tips $57 which without tips is $45-50 but I was charged $5 for length (nails aren't long and with nail tips being added I shouldn't be charged for an additional $5?) $5 for shape (almond) $10 for French $15 for chrome. $92 is ridiculous read more

I went to this place for the first time yesterday. My nail tech's name was Kim. She was super sweet, funny, and friendly. I told her that my acrylic seem to look very thick every time and I don't like how it look. I got it done from a different place. She quickly reassures me that my nails will never look like this again. She took her time with my nails and it came out exactly the way I wanted. I will come back to this place for sure. I fell in love with this place. They just remodeled and everything is new. No smell in the place. You can not go wrong with the price compared To the highly priced Naperville places. I had an awesome pedicure and no chip nail done oh I forgot nail removal from a place where I had my nail tortured. Vanessa did not charged me to review those horrible nails from Bolingbrook promenade. It hurt like hell to have them removed but they were hurting having them in the first Place. I was glad that I was not pushed to have the gels back in only that she suggested no cheap my nails got ruined The promenade. I saved 30 from the previous places I had been. Visited Lee Spa for the first time today. I stopped by on my lunch hour as I work close by. Was able to be seated right away for a regular manicure. Took about an hour including drying time. They were hoping it wouldn't notice the charges but said they woul void it and Did not void it. So my $33 pedicure was charged me $85.; They said it was a mistake but wanted $33 more. I decided to try this salon because it was so close to my house. My normal salon had no appointments available. Boy was that a mistake!! I got a dip and it was the worst I have ever had in 20 years! My nails are a mess. It was only a week ago! They are all cracked and the dip is all cracked! They look horrible! I went in to the salon and they just wanted to fix them. I said no way! I went in, on time, and they had taken someone else or were double booked (I couldn't quite understand due to a language barrier). They asked if I could come back in an hour, which I could not. I had tried a few salons before with acrylics and they never got the shape right or they fell off my nails, that hasn't happened once in the 6 months I have been going here. The wife told me that to do my pedi will cost me $35 which is great and then I told her I want it Gel and she said okay so I let her continue even when they were talking shit about the other girl not tipping the old lady. When I got up to pay she told me it was $55 for pedi and because it was GEL she charged me $20 MORE. Uf, I really wanted to like this place because it's walking distance from my house. Pros: 1. I said I needed to be out in 1 hour and they had two people work on me so I could be out in time. Much appreciated. 2. They took a tip on credit card without a fuss. 3. Towards the end of my service one of the ladies acknowledged me and actually spoke to me. 4. A few women I know go here and their nails stay nice for at least 3 weeks! Cons: (and it's a big one) 1. I was the first customer of the day and they did not open the nail tools from a sanitary pack (for both toes and nails) in front of me but I figured maybe they were set up for the day. However, when my toes where drying I witnessed them re-use the same tools they used on me with the next customer without sanitizing or cleaning at all. Not sure why they even bother to change out the plastic liner in the pedicure bowl. 2. They did cut me until I bled (although it didn't hurt). They did not acknowledge the mistake or apologize- and did in fact reuse that same tool. The ONLY place I've found to be 5 stars sanitary is Classy Nails in wheaton. read more

I felt like I was treated like a piece of meat here ! I walked in here and sat for about 10 minutes waiting for someone to notice me. It would have been pretty easy since there was only 1 other customer in the shop. Did you ever see the Seinfeld episode where Elaine was paranoid that they were talking about her at the nail shop? That's how I felt! After they noticed I was there, they made me wait some more. If they were cleaning out the tub for the pedi, I would have been ok with that, but who knows what they were doing. So when I got my pedi, they just kept moving along, slapping my feet in and out of the water. Ugh! Not relaxing. They after they painted my toes, that was it. No place to wait while they dried, just the "get out of here I have your money" attitude. My polish started chipping only after 2 days! So I know this is a chain, but you think with all the competition in the area, they would pay attention to customer service! I guess not. read more

I have always received good, prompt service and attention at this salon. I saw the other review, and while I respect everyone's right to their opinion and am sorry to hear of the negative experience that customer had, I felt I needed to write of my own experience. I've had particularly good luck with Vanessa and Tony who both do a very nice job of manicures and pedicures on natural nails. I find that some of these moderately priced chain salons that do mostly artificial nails don't really know how to handle natural nails. I can get the look I want without being hurt, at a reasonable price and on my own schedule at this location. It's not necessarily a 'spa' experience (although I've had some nice hand and foot massages when there's time), but one doesn't expect a luxury experience at these bargain prices. read more

Got a gel manicure here today....the shop wasn't super immaculate (i.e. nail shaving dust on things), but the guy did a really good job, and they have a decent selection. Decent prices as well but for some reason the place rubbed me the wrong way and I might not ever go back, tbh. Be advised that the hot water tap on their sinks (like after they file your nails & remove cuticles et al) is EXTREMELY HOT and you may burn yourself, so turn both taps on at once, maybe? read more

Terrible. Had a fill and pedicure. Vanessa smudged the acrylic on my nails and tried to paint over it instead of buff the dent in my nails. The pedicure was worse. The nail polish must have been old, because about 45 minutes after the pedicure, the nail polish bubbled up. When I returned the next day, they wanted to CHARGE me to fix it. They're nice...to regular local customers...forget about getting wowed as a first time customer. I could have paid a 8 year old kid to do a better job. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more

I read the other reviews and I agree with my fellow "3 Star" reviewer. I needed a pink acrylic fill and decided to give them a try on my lunch hour. They are very convenient as the salon is close to my job. I, too, had Vanessa do my nails. I am very satisfied with her work. The cost was about the same as what I was charged at my usual salon. Since our move, I had to give them up so I'm glad I tried Lee Spa Nails. I will return here to see how Vanessa does with a pink and white fill. read more

Upon entering, I was greeted by a woman who asked what I needed. I told her what I wanted, and then asked how long the wait would be. (I had errands to run, and thought about running some and coming back if necessary.) She assured me, just 5 minutes. So I sat down. About 15 minutes went by and she again told me about 5 more minutes. (which ended up being another 10 minutes) When she was finally ready for me, I asked about the sea salt treatment, because I had never heard of it before. I didn't know what it was for, if it was a soak, a scrub, or what. She wouldn't tell me what it was, but told me that I should try it, I'd like it, it would make my skin soft. So I went along and had the sea salt treatment along with the pedicure. Although it felt nice while it was being massaged onto my legs, I certainly wouldn't pay $8 for it when I use sugar scrub at home that costs about $6 for the whole jar that lasts several months. (Therefore, I didn't even notice a difference in my skin after the treatment -- $8 wasted.) Had I known what it was, I would have passed. Aside from this trivial thing, and the long wait that was only supposed to be 5 minutes, I also contacted tinea pedis. I was not happy! That can take forever to get rid of! I also got a pink & white. I was happy with it at the beginning, but after just two weeks, one of the nails had broken off a big chunk at the corner, and all of the nails had lost their sheen. (I've gone to other salons where the sheen lasted months, and the nails never broke. -- of course, the regular fills are needed as the nails grow, but regardless, the initial work lasted. The employees were nice, but the poor workmanship, lack of cleanliness and excessive wait time were all enough for me to decide I'd never go back. I go here for special occasions (school dances, before a vacation, etc). I always get a manicure/pedicure. It can be pricy, depending on what you get (a no-chip manicure is $40). The people (Vanessa and Tony) are very friendly and are eager to get your nails looking good! In fact, whenever I smudged my nails, Vanessa fixed it for free. I don't know if this is because I've been here a couple times before or what, because some of the other reviews says she charged them. The most important thing to remember is to MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. My sister and I made an appointment and that day there were only 2 people working. Right when we got in, we were able to start right away. During the next 45 minutes, 10 people walked in (not all at the same time), and asked for manicures, pedicures, fill-ins, etc. Vanessa asked them to come back later or wait but the majority left. I remember one woman in particular had a sour attitude, saying "This is the latest I can do it today..." Vanessa apologized but the woman did not even give her the time of day. Please. Make an appointment. Save yourself the time and frustration. So, overall: Pros-excellent job painting/cleaning/buffing nails. Friendly people. 0-5 minute wait IF you make an appointment, or come back another time. Cons-can be pricey! No chip mani and a pedicure = $67 read more
