My mom and I have been coming here for a while and we both leave super satisfied with our nails. My mom gets a regular manicure and pedicure and I typically get an acrylic full set and pedicure. I am not a great planner, and often call the day of asking to come in. A majority of the time they are able to squeeze me in which I really appreciate! I always love how they shape my nails! I think there is better places in the area with better materials. Came in yesterday loved the work and the tech who did my nails .. however today when I took my socks off toe nail gel polish was missing. So, no biggie came in to have it redone. I don't mind the wait but when you have a techs whom you've seen do feet before tell you to wait for another tech to be done with another customer who was having a full hand set while they are on their phone is just not it it was literally one toe nail gel polish. read more

I am getting married this weekend, and V&V nails made sure to start it on a great note!! My mother and I got pedicures and manicures, and V&V nails were SO KIND, PROFESSIONAL, & did GREAT WORK. Sandy did my pedicure and made sure my toes looked fabulous, and Linda gave me the prettiest ombre acrylic nails for my wedding day. Everyone was pleasant, asked us repeatedly if we liked our nails (so that they could fix them if there was something we didn't like), and in general were just incredible! I've been to several other nail salons in GE and Lombard, and none of the technicians asked me if I liked my nails. The other salons barely talked to me, and the work wasn't that great tbh. I walked into this salon with a brand new set of nails but a horrible polish color on them. I just neededmy polish changed on my nails & on my toes, I wanted to do the white tips. I don't know why, perhaps they assumed they wouldn't make enough money or enough of a tip from me (I'm an excellent tipper. Excellent.) The girl at the front desk turned around & talked in her native language to the girl behind her then turned back around & told me they were booked. The appointment book was about 18 inches from my face & it was very clear that they were not booked. So I asked when they would have an available appointment? She had no answer. Refused to answer the question. She didn't want to give me one. Basically would not do business with me. It's no different than discrimination & it's infuriating. Let's face it, there are A LOT of nail salons out there. Out of all the places I have lived and all the nail places I have tried, this one is the best. The women are nice, and they do a great job. I think some of the review of this place are out of date. Two years ago, the store got a new owner, however they retained the same name. The owner Davi really takes care of the customers. Also to note, this past summer, they gave the place fresh paint and decor. My favorite part about the ladies who do my nails here is the responsiveness they have to my nail preferences. I like my nails to be extra short with well-trimmed cuticles, and they've always done a fantastic job paying attention to detail. You are not rushed at this nail salon, and I guarantee that your experience will be refreshing as mine always is. Worst paint job i ever..and she cut me twice The first time i went they told me they didn't like the brand of nail polish for a gel fill..but still used it anyway...four coats later i was done. They are busy so I do recommend scheduling an appointment. I have seen many people walk in and leave upset since they may have to wait an hour or so. Clean environment. Ladies are very nice and the calf massages are to die for. My no chip pedi's last for weeks. Got a pedicure. They have three grades of pedicures and I got the middle. Everything about it was fine...as expected. But... The polish chipped badly...I mean utterly came off some toes within a week. Huh? My experience with pedicures is that they last and last and last. They'll last so long the polish grows out before it chips off. But not here. Nail salons sprout like mushrooms in the suburban landscape. One like this isn't worth revisiting. read more

Had the best manicure and pedicure by Rosa and Linda. Amazing massages during the pedicure which included hot stones. Rosa is so good at cutting the cuticles perfectly! I used to frequent this place a while back. They had good service and affordable prices. Now the place looks run down, the service doesn't seem as good but they still have their regulars, and it's a little on the expensive side. I went in for a mani-pedi with a friend and these are some of the things that turned me off: 1. The water for my pedi pretty munch synched off any dead skin from the bottom of my feet. 2. They charge extra for the callus remover, which has ALWAYS included in any pedi that I get. 3. They also charge extra for longer massages, what the f is that?, seriously, it all used to be included. Now it's $10 extra. 3. There wasn't enough color selections, how many shades of pink can one choose? 4. My friend opted for the callus remover and instead got half of her toe cut off, she almost bled out. I guess it's a good thing that they charge extra for the callus removed, it's not a good thing to get done. It's a razor so you're technically shaving the bottom of your feet. Use the pumice instead, but maybe try somewhere different. read more

Love this place very nice helpful ladies, I go to Davi all the time she's sweet and good, no chip actually lasts for me and she takes her time, a drawback even when I call ahead and make an apt, I still end up having to wait almost hour or more just soaking my feet, just like all the walk ins so what's the point of making an apt, if I have to wait just as long as the walk ins, having a better system or telling com a half hour later would be more appreciative, and I don't mind waiting if the results are good, just wish they would tell me to come later, rather than having me soak my feet for an hour. On the plus side really like their massage chairs which are new and comfy for pedicures. read more

I love the salon set up, their customer service is great and they always do a great job. Their pedicure area is towards the back while the manicure area is in the front giving privacy to those receiving a pedicure. I had gotten engaged 3 days prior to coming here and wanted to get my nails done to show off my new engagement ring to all my friends and family. The nail techs noticed and asked if I just got engaged blah blah small talk I told them yes and that I wanted my nails to look nice. The nail tech I had spoke hardly any English, which I did not mind. I personally like to keep to myself so less talking is great for me. However when she started to push my cuticles back I could immediately tell that they hadn't soaked long enough and told her that she was hurting me. She kind of looked at me weirdly and continued until I actually had to pull away and put them back into the water. She kind of got the hint after that and let them soak further. After that is when everything went down hill..she proceeded to start cutting off my excess cuticles and of course she ended up cutting my newly engaged ring finger....I started bleeding immediately. I was so upset and she said I'm sorry and totally shrugged it off like as if it happens all the time. She moved onto my other hand and ended up cutting my middle finger. I couldn't believe it.. I will never come back. To make matters worse I chose i grey color for my no chip and it ended up turning an ugly mossy green color 2 days later.. never again! read more

This was by far the worst experience of my life. We had appointments to get nails done before my husbands funeral and the staff was nothing but rude and rushed us because patrons who did not have appointments came in. My nails were not dry, my no chip manicure looks terrible & there was no cuticle work done. Not only did they charge me for all services but no apologies were given and I was told to come back in after I reiterated I could not because of my husbands services. There was a little boy in the back of the room who I didn't pay much attention to until I watched one of the women go and start pick lice of his head! Everyone was very nice but unfortunately, I paid a ton for gel nail fills and a paint that barely lasted 2 days. After the end of the first day the fills were already coming lose and rising away from the nail. The original gel nail job (done somewhere else) was still immaculate but anything done with the fill was just awful. It looked messy and when I complained (before I left the store) the man that had done my nails just smiled and put me under a dryer. There are cheaper and better places to go for gel nails, I'd go somewhere else. read more

I visited this salon last night for a manicure and pedicure. Had to wait about 5 minutes before they called me for my pedicure. Another customer came in at the same time so the lady that was supposed to do my pedicure, proceeded to do the gentlemen instead so I was stuck with a young man doing my pedicure. It took him 5 minutes to do one foot (taking off the old polish and filing and trimming the nail). He got up and disappeared and I said to the lady doing the gentlemans pedicure, that I wanted her to do my hands and not this young man. I asked her if he was new, she said he works part time. Then she offered to finish my pedicure. The young man ended up leaving....really with no explanation? So instead the manager finished my pedicure and did my manicure. Nice job but they push the upgrades here from start to finish (with the pedicure-there are 3 types and the regular for $25 is the way to go) and they also pushed for the nail art design as well. I have always gotten the no chip manicure but the last two times I have went here, it started chipping which has NEVER happened at any other salon. Makes me wonder why they extend the offer to come back if it chips within ONE week but unfortunately mine was 10 days after instead. Long story short...if you have time to kill and don't mind wasting time, go here. I walked in at 5:30pm and didn't leave till 7:45pm-ridiculous for just a mani-pedi and the place was not crowded at all. I was the last one to leave. And also beware of the part time young man doing nails, he doesn't know what he is doing and obviously wasn't trained well at all. read more

First of all, I usually get a no-chip manicure every 3-4 weeks. Been to many nail salons in the past years. Tnis place is going to be my regular! Heard V & V did No Chip Manicures for $25 so I thought I would give them a try again. I have gone there twice now and will definitely make it my regular. I was surprised that they have new owners who bought the store 2 years ago and kept the same name. All new people. They also just recently remodeled. So all the negative Yelp reviews are for the previous owners. They should remove all those old reviews! I don't think Yelp will remove them for some reason, but you should disregard the old ones! 4 1/2 weeks ago I received the best no-chip manicure ever from Davi! It lasted for 4 1/2 weeks! Went back the other day for another one. That's the longest I've ever had a no-chip last. Amazing! I'm really rough on my hands too! Davi is the owner and she was so nice and did a really beautiful job! Also, she offers mood colors that change colors depending on your mood (actually changes with the temperature of your fingers and outside air ) I tried it and loved how it changes colors. Something different! Anyways, I don't think you'll find a better service or better price for a no-chip manicure anywhere else around here ! So far I've had two great experiences with them. They just moved to a new location and as i was sitting in my pedicure chair they had guys trying to do ceiling work / lights above me and things were falling all over. I also tried to use the washroom and one of the was one of the male workers (who was doing the ceiling work) with the door wide opening and peeing. They saw this and once he left the bathroom they told me to "ahead and use the washroom now that it's free" and when i went it it was very unsanitary. So much so i didn't even use it. My pedicure turned out okay, but the environment was so uncomfortable that i will never be back. read more
