Meaning I actually chose to be seated inside. Staff were wonderful as ever--new people to me this time: helpful and charming servers, Maysen and David, and excellent barkeep, Marko. The beverages were top notch as ever. I didn't find an old favorite on the menu, so I asked about a drink they used to have into which they infused magically with actual oiled smoke of some sort. I don't know if I ended up with that, but they brought me the Seasmoke which was so extraordinary. I loved the dry Black Cherry Cider and one other whose name I don't recall (blond...and a little citrusy nice). Truffle fries were nice. Kale Caesar Salad is scrumptious. I couldn't resist adding some of their fabulous crispy chicken. You get a supremely generous amount of chicken for a bargain--I ended up with extra for dinner. Terrific place. Glad I happened by...

Pork belly was executed well, avocado toast was standard. I wish the fried chicken sandwich tasted a little less like KFC. Fries were good - not sure I would upgrade to truffle again. Service was standard. Not a fault of the restaurant but I tried to make reservations around 5:50ish and it told me no wait come on in. Arrived at 6:15 and was told there was a 40 minute wait. That's okay we walked through Maritime Park where the salmon were supposedly running but headed back due to safety concerns. However during daylight if there is a wait would be a good place to walk.

**Review for Ono Kitchen and Bar**…read more Ono Kitchen and Bar is a fantastic spot that offers Latin dance lessons on Thursday nights from 7:30 to 10:30 PM--highly recommended for anyone looking to learn some new moves! The watermelon and crispy pork belly starter was to die for: juicy and perfectly fried, truly heaven in your mouth. The kalua pork tacos were decent; the bao bun was perfectly fluffy like a cloud, but they were a bit greasy, making them slightly soggy. However, the flavor was still great. Our server answered our many questions about drinks and food. Overall, I recommend Ono Kitchen and Bar, especially for the dance lessons and for grabbing a few drinks and bites afterward.

The dining room was elegant yet cozy, with great lighting. The staff was also very friendly and our waiter was very helpful in aiding our choice. We ordered the Focaccia bread, the salmon momtadito and the tonnarelli as our entree. The focaccia was the only dissapointing item as it was very basic in my opinion, which isn't bad but just nothing exciting to write about. The appetizer, the salmon montadito, was probably my favorite item of the night. It was served on focaccia bread and drizzled with a truffle honey butter and sat upon a mascarapone yogurt. It was elegant and it was incredibly flavorful. The sweetness of the truffle honey butter was a great contrast to the salmon itself, and all melted together to make an exceptional appetizer. The tonnarelli was a pasta dish we split and was also very tasty. The pasta itself was a thicker spaghetti like pasta served with plenty of crab. It was tasty and it satisfied and I'd likely order it again as I will be back when my sister's visit. All in all, a great restaurant to spend a nice night right in the heart of Bellingham!
