It took us forever to locate an area with food options and this was the winner. I decided to get the lunch special which turned out to be good for 2 people. My meal (steak frites) came with an appetizer and a side salad. My friend got the chicken with rice. The highlight of my meal was the appetizer that I ended up sharing with my friend. The steak was not it. I think I only ended up eating half of it because a majority of the portion was mostly fat. My friend said she only ate her food because she was so hungry. The service was nice though so it made up for the lackluster meal. read more

Walked around the neighborhood for lunch and stumbled upon Le Zinc D'Honore. Wasn't busy at all on a Sunday afternoon so we walked in and were seated immediately indoors. Our waiter didn't really feel too enthusiastic to take our orders and the overall service was just very decent. We waited a bit for all of our food to come out as we were very hungry. The French onion soup was pretty good, but unfortunately the ribeye steak was horrendous. It was basically half fat, barely any chewable/consumable meat, super tough... Sadly, I was very disappointed with the quality of the steak. You could also smell cigarettes everywhere even if seated indoors. Lastly, for the quality of our food, the prices were not reasonable at all. I personally would not go back to the restaurant :( read more

The waiter was very attentive and helpful. He spoke English fluently. The other staff was very receptive as well. We ordered the Parisian salad and the duck. Both were very good and I would recommend them to others. There just was not enough salad dressing or sauce on the duck. The restaurant was very busy. Many young people outside drinking and smoking. They were very loud and having lots of fun. Only the smoking was bothersome. The waiter put us at a table inside away from the smoking but it was not enough. The food and the waiter was good. I think the quality of food is very nice. However, if you are sensitive to smoking, you might want to avoid this place. Even if you sit indoors in the nonsmoking section, the sliding doors are completely open, so the smoke from the outside smokers come inside. Also, don't know why the waiter kept his cleaning stuff right next to us..literally right next to our table. It kind of ruined the ambiance. Great customer service. Extremely packed. Surprised they were able to squeeze me in. Tried the classic onion soup and entrecôte with green beans and pepper sauce on the side. It also came with a clump of dauphinois potatoes. Both dishes hit the spot on a cold Parisian night. Been here umpteen times in the past, the occasional lunch but mainly breakfast as I had a colleague who worked opposite and we could combine business with a croissant & coffee A few months ago (it seems?) we had dinner here and it was very good, meanwhile the waiters gave expert advice to 2 groups of Americans on how to eat oysters We met our friends for a drink at Harry's Bar then wandered down to Le Zinc. Stopped for lunch, in the mood for eggs, and they had an omelette on the menu. The outdoor seating was busy but I found a spot. Waitstaff was hustling and service took a while, which is pleasantly conducive to people-watching. When I finally got the omelette, it wasn't the earth-shaking experience I sought - cooked nicely but not the flavorful, custardy perfection that I hoped to find in Paris. We loved our meals and the ambiance at this place, we ended up going back during our trip. It is very lively in the evenings and I think we were the only tourists there, which was nice. Stopped in for their happy hour which was half off SOME not all drinks. Make sure to ask which ones are part of the happy hour, and you will be fine. Unfortunately they had spotty wifi, but our great charcuterie board (less than 20€) made up for it. My server was also very friendly and attentive and refilled our basket of bread without us asking! Tourist trap, in every sense of the word. My husband and I dropped by here on a Tuesday afternoon recently, which was slow for them. He wanted a glass of wine and I ordered the french onion soup. The waiter at this point (a man with glasses and a shaven head) was very huffy because this clearly wasn't 'enough'. He literally whisked my place mat and my utensils away, leaving my side with a bare table and my husband with his place mat and a solitary spoon. I thought this attitude was bizarre considering that there were people having just coffee outside on the terrace. Then again, they didn't have placemats either. The french onion soup came and it was salty, inedible glop. I wouldn't have left a review for just this though. The kicker came when one couple hurriedly got up, whispering about 'a mouse'. I thought they were joking until I saw a tiny one scurrying under their table. The waiter (same guy!) stalked in, looked at it, and then walked away. And didn't come back for a good 5 minutes, or explain, or apologize to anyone in the restaurant about the fact that a rodent had just danced across their dining room floor. We left very quickly after this. Visit at your own risk, there are PLENTY of better options in this plaza. read more

It's near the sights and has an 'open' kitchen which means you can be tired and hungry and actually be able to order food (you can not do this at all restaurants in France) and the food is quite good and friendly staff. We stumbled onto this place after visiting the Louvre and it was excellent. Looking around at what others had ordered and I literally couldn't decide between about 5 different things. I asked my server who suggested a traditional French beef stuff which was a special and it was excellent. Stopped here since the 1st restaurant I picked was closed. This place was busy at 9pm and they had steak tartar on the menu, which is why I decided to eat here. Casual French food with burgers and entree salads too. My classic steak tartar was excellent - though the waiter did ask me if I knew it was raw. Understandable as some Americans don't know the dish. Standard leisurely service which might be considered slow for those used to efficient US restaurant service. Good choice for a casual, classic French bistro experience. read more

Absolutely awful! We stopped by around 5:30-6pm and were seated inside. The server asked if we were ordering food, and we said yes because we wanted to grab a small bite before dinnertime began in a few hours. When it came time to order, I asked for the crepes, and he immediately looked at me with disgust and exclaimed, "No food?!" I again politely asked for the crepes, to which he shook his head as if I was a child and snatched my place setting away. I'm not sure why this made sense to him, because you still need a fork and knife to eat crepes. Clearly he was having a hissy fit and needed to be dramatic about it. My fiancé wasn't very hungry but felt pressured to order something to diffuse the situation, so he ended up with a €16 salad -- a pretty obscene price for a few greens with an egg on top, but I suppose that's another story. The food came out and eventually he brought out my knife and fork again, but apparently decided that my order was not valid enough for a napkin. €38 bill for a salad, crepes, a bottle of water, and probably the rudest service I've ever had in my life. Came here for dinner on our first night in Paris. The gentleman at the front greeted us and was kind enough to realize we spoke english and worked to explain the menu and offerings as best he could. We sat down on the patio outside and had an order of the foie gras as an appetizer, followed by french onion soup, the beef stew and a steak with fries. We stopped here to grab some lunch because of a guidebook recommendation. The location is OK: it sits on a fairly quiet street across from the cold glass and metal Marché Saint-Honoré. My wife had a decent salad but my cote de boeuf was terrible - one of the worst pieces of meat I've ever eaten. It's tragic that an animal had to die to supply it, though based on it's toughness, the bovine in question was at the end of a long and difficult life. The greasy preparation only made it worse. Avoid. there are surely better places to eat nearby at the same price. Or, if you just wanted a drink this place would be OK. read more

If you're looking for an uncomfortable and humiliating experience, this is the place for you! Tonight we were made to feel like Paris' biggest inconvenience. When we changed our mind from having dinner to just drinks the waiter snatched our menu off us and made a rude comment to his colleague. The colleague flicked his hand to us in disgust and they both stormed off. Everyone else in the restaurant was just drinking, I'm not sure why it was so disgraceful for us to do so. We drank the (revoltingly sweet) cocktails ASAP and left feeling humiliated and ripped off. In contrast, we were treated much better at Gambino, an Italian restaurant just around the corner. We were a group of 11 and had a great time. Food was good, beef stew was really good, served piping hot in a small le creuset pot. Most everyone enjoyed their meals. Fish was good. The only down side was the flank steak, it was a bit tough but I think it's because France doesn't junk up their meat with fillers/sodium. It wasn't bad meat, just different from what we're used to.
