    Profiteroles and Cafe American
    Alex N.

I had a free night with no reservations. So I wanted to try a new Cafe. I had been to Le Capucine down the street several times before so I thought, why not try something new... That was my mistake. Service, probably the least friendly service I've experienced so far in Paris. Food, I had the steak and frites which is a really typical French Cafe dish. The steak was as usual chewy, although well cooked. The fries were good and the peppercorn sauce was good. But the profiteroles were not fresh. The ice cream was fine, the chocolate sauce was good but could have been warmer.

    Escargot?

Great location and very cute exterior on outside dining area. Hence why we picked the place to wrap up some shopping in the area. The escargot I thought would be in a shell vs de-shelled. The food was OK, service was decent as the waiter spoke English. Wouldn't make it a point to stop by here unless you are in the area.

I hesitated because it is on a main drag and in an area with stores like Gucci, Dolce and G, and you know, expensive much? But we got some simple French fare and some great service. We had a cheese sampler and wine and my son had the Madeleine crepe. We realized that the crepe from the place in our neighborhood is terrible because this one is so good! I would love to have a list of which cheeses we ate. So creamy and pungent and tasty! The waiter was excellent--you know, these European career waiters know their world.

After walking the mall at Galleria Lafayette we needed to sit and have an evening dessert and drink. We happened upon this place and enjoyed an amazing Tiramisu and banana split along with two drinks. Service was great and ambience of the place was really nice.

Came for lunch. Service was good the waiter was very friendly which was rare. Ordered escargots 6 for I think 10 euro, kids chicken nuggets and fries with a juice plus desert for approx 11 euro. A set menu of foie gras, duck and chocolate mousse was 38 euro. Sirloin steak with fries and salad was 20 euro. Steak was not flavorful and under seasoned. Duck was over cooked and tough.

Came here yesterday for lunch time. Sat outside to enjoy that Parisian view it was chilly but thankfully they had outdoor heaters. I tried the mixed omelette with fries. I must say I've had better omelette & the fries good but the salad was average. I wasn't impressed by the restaurant but don't have anything negative to say either.?I'd comeback if I was in the area.

This place was great! Maybe not the fanciest French food you could get, but not expensive either. My husband is vegetarian and I'm not. Our requirements were traditional French food for me and cheese and bread for him. This was perfect! The French onion soup (claimed to be homemade) was amazing. He loved his vegetable soup (which seemed to be either butternut squash or pumpkin, or some combination of the two). We both had the 4 frommage plate because I love cheese too. It came with a basket of bread that the waiter kept refilling upon request (and even brought a second kind of bread- a country loaf, as opposed to baguette). Our waiter was great- good sense of humor (which was needed because we had our 1 year old with us), and spoke fluent English (he said his wife was American, so I knew he must not hate all Americans!) We also came with 4 other people, and the host put our party of 6 + a baby in a back room. We felt like we were seated in a private room! The bordeaux that we chose was so good (medium body, not too acidic) and only €20, which is cheap for a French restaurant. After dinner, I had a cappuccino (pictured), which was as good as at any French cafe I've been to in the past couple days. Overall, a truly wonderful experience and great last dinner before leaving the city. (Side note: one of our companions had the duck which looked and tasted - to him - a bit over cooked).

Yum! Sunday nights are difficult in Paris as many restaurants are closed. My companion and I tried to go to a different restaurant but it turned out that it was booked solid for the evening. After a bit of wandering around the neighborhood, we stumbled across this place and decided we were hungry enough to give it a go. I'm glad we did because it was delicious. I had oysters to start followed by duck confit. My companion had toast with goat cheese and duck filet with a really rich, delicious sauce as his entree. To accompany our meal, we ordered wine and to finish, we shared a cheese plate. Everything was delicious and our waiter was helpful, friendly, and kind.

Filet Beef with Fries and Peppercorn sauce

We came here for our last dinner in Paris. It was an excellent meal and good service. The waiter was very patient and got us what we needed promptly. We ordered the filet beef and it was excellent. The peppercorn sauce had good flavour. Salad had a mustard type dressing with paired nicely with the steak and fries. My partner has the duck. Sauce was on the sweeter side and came with potato hash brown rounds. We finished with a simple dessert - fresh bowl of berries which was enjoyed especially by my children. Overall coming here with two young ones - two thumbs up.

I usually don't start writing reviews while I'm still dining at the restaurant but I feel so upset that I had to express my major disappointment right now using their free wifi. I really question the credibility of the yelpers who gave this restaurant 4-5 stars, they are very deceiving especially the comment about the French onion soup! This is my 6th visit in France but I must say this is by far the worst French onion soup I have ever had in France especially considering it costs €9!! The bread was burnt, the soup lacked the depth of flavor, and the cheese was not gooey at all. And since I'm leaving tomorrow, I feel really betrayed to end my night with such disappointment. And penne arrabiata was horrible, it tasted like it was made with a cheap instant ragu, like Sbarro. The only saving grace was the escargot and the hardworking garçon, otherwise I would only give one star. I bet my review would get filtered but I don't care!!! If you do go, don't order French onion soup and penne arrabiata! You've been warned.

Came here on Sunday due to a lot of restaurant being closed. Overall it's a decent place. The foods was good, the price was right. We have chicken and steak filet for dinner. I like how the made the French fries, it's very taste and something that is different from America. Our server was nice ask us a couple of time if we needed anything. I wish they have better section of food.

Meh. Mediocre food and mediocre service and pretty pricey for the quality. I'd steer clear of this place. Far better options in Paris.

The sauce of the day on the day we went was a blackberry sauce which was crazy good. With a bottle of wine at 24 euros and both entrees under 20 euros, you couldn't really beat a meal of that quality in many places around Paris for that price. It was only after I ate at Le Potager did I see it had a bunch of great reviews on Yelp. It's definitely earned all those stars.

We found Le P'tit and when we inquired if they would serve us they said yes if we ordered immediately. It was a few minutes after ten. We ordered at the bar then were seated at our tables. The waitstaff were incredibly nice. They brought whatever we needed including ketchup which, despite being American, we didn't want or need. :) The food was delicious. I had an almost perfect poached egg -just a little too cooked. They had a fair amount of vegetarian options for the person in our party to get a decent meal: eggs, salad and beignets de mozzarella, which I hate to burst your bubble in advance, is a very French and more appealing way to say Mozzarella sticks. They were still good for the record. Perhaps everyone should call them that and aim for that level of taste. Fried just right and a fair amount of cheese. I ordered the duck legs-no complaints there. It was tender and the side of potatoes weren't the top of my list for the evening but there was more than enough of them to share with others. The chocolate fondant was voted best dessert by the table. It won no contest. I'm glad we stopped in for an authentic food experience.

The prices were a bit wild (like everything else in Paris), but I guess that's what we get for stopping into the first place we saw on the street. The menu is pretty eclectic, so don't expect to stop in here with children and be able to get a grilled cheese and fries, it's more of that stuff that people in America eat when they come into some wealth and acquire a new money accent (you know the type).
