This place was around the corner from our hotel so we had to check it out and so glad that we did. Seated immediately and the friendly and helpful staff catered to your every need (if you don't speak French, they are fluent in English). Everything we had was good from the escargot starter to the steak as a main and crepes for desert. Close enough to the tourist destinations that you can walk from them (Trocadero and Champs Elysee) but far away enough that you do get an authentic experience. Try it. All my birthday in Paris, my wife took me to this French restaurant near our hotel. We've been in 2 restaurants around this area, and we need to try another one to see if the foods are any different. One thing we noticed is the prices at this restaurant are higher than most. The escargots are one of the dishes we like in Paris, and this place made good escargots, but more expensive than others which also excellent. I tried the beef bourguignon which I haven't had for a long time from any restaurants, the beef was tender and the sauce was delicious, but the mash potato was a little rich for me. My wife got the duck because she didn't see anything she wanted to try, the duck was good but not as good as others. It was a simple dinner with Ice cream as dessert which was very nice. The prices here actually are reasonable compared to other restaurants. The service was nice and attentive although not very well spoken English. It was a nice dinner but we don't think we would be back here since there are more restaurants in the area. read more

This little cafe was right down the street from our hotel and when we arrived from CDG tired and starving we walked in. We sat outside under an awning. Waitstaff was very nice and graciously accommodated our English. We ordered a round of coffees, croissants, fried eggs and omelettes. The fried eggs were perfectly done, with warm runny centers and butter-fried crispy whites. The ham and cheese omelettes were a little runny, well seasoned and came with a nice greens salad. The food was the worst I had in Paris and ironically the most expensive. I had the flank steak which had no flavor and was tough to eat. My daughter order the lamb chops and they had zero flavor. My wife had the hanger steak and it just wasn't very good. My 8 year old had spaghetti and said it was the worst he'd ever had. Nobody ate the full meal. The only thing that anyone enjoyed was a crepe. read more

This has been a restaurant that I've frequented because the service is almost as friendly as American restaurants and the meals were actually solidly good. The food was great the first time we ate here a year ago. This time it was almost as good, but they had changed the chef and no longer served duck confit. My girlfriend was disappointed, but the lamb more than made up for it. The service was good and the prices were comparable to other locations. They also gave me cards for free wifi! This was our first dining experience in Paris on our first day. It was one block from our hotel and on the same side of the street. But don't think we're so lazy - nope - despite the rain and wind and cold we'd walked to the Eiffel Tower and looked at several of the restaurants along the way back before settling here. I saw about 5 salads on their menu and my hubs saw steak and a burger and some desserts he wanted to try so we decided this place had something we could probably both live with. We were warmly greeted and promptly sat toward the back of the restaurant away from the bar and open patio seating which was fine with me because everyone smokes in Europe it seems like and I didn't want to smell all that smoke. (It didn't matter - because it was everywhere anyway - ugh!) I ended up going with a standard salad and my hubs got steak and potatoes. I ordered a side of fries and they were pretty damn good. Our waitress was nice, spoke decent English (which is good because we speak terrible French) and checked on us often enough. The food was out promptly and it was all as we ordered and requested. The real star of the show were the profiteroles my hubs ordered for dessert. OMFG they were so good. They will haunt my dreams! I wanted to come back and get them one more time before we left but things came up and it just didn't work out for us - much to my sadness. If I'm ever in Paris again - I'm going to come to get some. They were three huge profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream stuffed inside covered with hot chocolate sauce. But this isn't like normal soupy chocolate sauce - no - this was thick and delicious. Not fudge either. Just yum. Like yum you wanna drink it. read more

Had dinner with two friends here, ordered snail, special white fish. The snail and white fish were well made, rich flavour and really enjoyable, even the side vegetables were cooked just right, I think this is the best eggplant and green pepper side dish that I ever tasted. read more

Tres magnifique! First meal in Paris and exactly what I wanted in a French Bistro. Service was friendly wine was delicious. No frills just quality. I shared the beef bourgounon and the pork sausage. Both were well executed. The aligote potatoes were just phenomenal. Crozes hermitage opened nicely and tied the meal together. read more

We had drinks at this chic café. Seeing what was being consumed at a nearby table didn't make us want to order the food. Even the drinks menu is quite limited. In fact, there's nothing special about this place; it is just a pleasant café in a posh neighbourhood. read more

First night in Paris, and it was a bank holiday so a lot of the other restaurants were closed. We were a little worried the meal wouldn't be as good. We were initially seated near the window but there was someone smoking right outside the window, so we ended up moving to the back of the restaurant. For appetizer, we ordered the escargot (12 for 22 EU). For the main course, we had the ravioli with mushroom and truffle sauce, flank steak (14EU), and bourguignon beef. For dessert, we had the pear sorbet and the profiteroles. We thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes. While all the dishes were quite good, my favorites were the escargot (sauce was amazing), the ravioli and the pear sorbet (very refreshing). We took away one star as the waiter was quite distracted and we had to remind him three times about an item we requested. We had a really good first dinner in Paris, but wouldn't say this is a place that you must try. read more

I saw it as I left the hotel to walk around the city. Great value and great service. I like it so much I returned for dinner. French onion soup and Quiche was very good. I'll definitely be going back to try some if the other items but I should give some of the other places a try as we'll. Also if you are a corporate traveller they take American Express here which is great because there are a lot of other places that don't seem to in Europe. read more

My husband and I had a bad experience at a restaurant (Les Grands Verres) where we made reservations and ended up not even glancing at the menu and then walking out. As we strolled the city streets looking for an alternative, Le Kleber caught our attention. We were starving, so we settled. I do not have anything bad to say per se, except it was not memorable. The only thing that stood out was the the profiteroles, because I had never tried them and they are a popular dessert in Paris. If you want delicious French cuisine (including made to order profiteroles) and are near the Eiffel Tower, go to Cafe Constant. There will be a wait, but it is so worth it. read more

It looked like a nice restaurant so we walked in and sat down. Overall not a great experience. We ordered the Chicken dish which was ok/good and the ribeye. I ordered the ribeye "medium " however it came "well done" and burned. I did not complain because it took a long time for the food to come and we did not want to wait again for a new steak. When the waiter brought us our bill he tried to pressure us into giving him an additional tip even though there is a service charge (like in all French restaurants). I'm all for providing an additional tip if the service is good and the food is good- service was ok and the food was not good. However in this case the waiter was insisting that he does not get any of the tip- we suspect that he was trying to manipulate tourists. This really turned us off from the restaurant and solidified it as a negative experience. read more

This is my favourite morning cafe, they have a 'formule petit déjeuner' where you can chose one hot drink, and one viennoiserie (croissant etc) and you get a good-sized glass of freshly pressed orange juice. The terrasse catches the sun from mid-morning until past lunchtime so in the spring it's heavenly. I've also stopped by in the winter for a quick coffee; it's cosy on the inside too. The staff are very friendly by Parisian standards and don't mind when I stay for a couple of hours in the morning. I've seen it packed every lunchtime with locals too. read more

Randomly chose this nice nice looking place when strolling by with a couple of friends. Sadly, the place looked better than it delivered. Had the fish of the day, as recommended by our waitress, and expected that even though it was 9 p.m. the food would be freshly made. So, when getting an otherwise decent dish, the thick chewy layer of being-kept-on-hold-too-long surrounding the fish was a bit of a disappointment. In addition, the staff lectured us on wine, without really getting their facts straight, and instructed us on how to eat the dessert. My belief is that it was a not really successful attempt at being helpful, rather than the world renowned French arrogance (which has this far not really showed itself at all over the year we've been in Paris). read more

This was our first restaurant in Paris, and the best meal we had there. After a long day of walking and trying to catch up to the time difference, my husband and I decided to choose the next restaurant we saw and Le Kleber was it. The staff was warm and tried to engage us in an English conversation. It wasn't condescending or off-putting at all, which surprised us, and we wished we knew more French. The service was very accommodating-- I got a cup of hot water because I was feeling under the weather and not once did I feel like I was imposing even though we didn't order any drinks off the menu. My husband and I shared the French onion soup, which was great for the cold November night. He got the charcuterie platter and I a fresh salad with chicken, which took the spotlight. We both agreed it was quality food and the price wasn't anything to complain about compared to your average Parisian bistro. We wish we had the opportunity for a second go at this place.
