    Crepes

So, this was one of the first places we went to grab some food beside the Gorde Nu train station. Being foreigners, I really wanted to try everything that I could. So, let's see if France has some great crepes, and this place really does. We had some latte and chocolate crepes, which were absolutely amazing. The chocolate was awesome and semi warm, and the crepe was just so nice and fluffy. The service is good, and it seemed like a few people were managing everything. I was highly impressed with the speed of everything. This is close to the trainstation which is perfect. They allow roller bags in the cafe, and the restroom is down some stairs. Everything was clean. So for you Americans, ya. Use all the restrooms you can when you eat because You will pay to use other restrooms. lol.

Arriving in Paris, my family and I were exhausted from all the traveling. After a search through some reviews, we settled on this place that was just a couple of blocks away. Well, not only is this place found in an adorable plaza in a quieter part of town but it was also directly across the street from a historic church. So the views outside were great for seeing architecture and for some people watching. (I would beware of the few panhandlers but this is pretty much all of Paris.) We had dinner here and we all enjoyed our food. I especially loved the duck breast with their version of a gnocchi (but really it was more of a gnocchi hush puppy) and it was absolutely delicious. What really made our experience was our server, Jonas. Not only was he amazing with a great sense of humor (and quite handsome and charismatic), he also spoke English fluently while also assisting us with our very broken French. My only gripe is that he was very dismissive of California/Napa wines (typical French haha) but I thought it was more funny than anything. I told him to read "The Judgment of Paris of 1976". He knew nothing about it. Figures. (Jonas, let me know when you're ready for your tour of Napa wine country. haha) Our family had plans of coming back on our last evening in Paris but we ended up going somewhere else just to be able to try more restaurants.

Came here for dinner on my first night in Paris, France and was blown away with how delicious every thing was! We had the octopus, chicken and duck as entrees and each were amazing in their own way. We also had a crème brûlée for dessert along with these chocolate pastries that were a great match. The wait was a bit long but that's because they only had 2 waitresses for the entire restaurant and we seemed that have went at prime dinner time for Europe which was 8:30pm. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Amazing, delicious food. We have been in France two weeks and finally found the authentic French cuisine we were craving! Highly recommend!!!!

This restaurant was close to our Hotel, maybe like a 5min. walk. Great service, they were super busy and we didn't have reservations so we ended up sitting outside with a heater on of course. We ordered the fried feta, dfoie gras, duck and cheeseburger for entrees.

    Croissants

Great breakfast spot. Croissants were super flaky and buttery. Omelettes were rich and decadent, I bet they used a whole stick of butter, but they tasted great!

We stumbled upon this place after checking our bags at Gare du nord, on our way to Sacre Cour. We had just arrived in Paris and ordered eggs, coffee and bread. It was delicious and lovely. The staff and service were warm, welcoming and attentive. Order the eggs!

Thanks to the other Yelp reviewers, we decided to come here for a light supper. They have menus in English, waiters also speak English and it is a clean, bright cafe near our hotel. We shared the homemade foie gras, and steak frites. The foie gras was fresh and delicious. In addition to the main course, the desserts were also delicious. We tried the homemade Paris Brest and Chocolate Nuage, a very light chocolate mousse. We would have never found this restaurant among so many choices in the area, so many thanks to all those who reviewed this restaurant before us. We were not disappointed at all and would recommend to all staying in the Gare du Nord area.

    Brunch

So Brunch seems to be relatively new to the French, and I don't think an American would necessarily recognise what we ate as brunch, but man it was good! I went for the savoury brunch (there's also a sweet version) which was served with an orange juice & hot drink of choice. Let's start with the orange juice, freshly squeezed & absolutely delicious! Then there was the food. The savoury options were scrambled egg with truffle oil (yummo), a chicken brochette with a green sauce which I couldn't tell you what was in it but tasted great, and roasted sweet potato & parsnip. There was also a bowl of creme fraiche topped with seeds & dried fruit, which was a great palate cleanser. Then the pudding was a slice of pain perdu, & an individual portion of apple crumble. It shouldn't work with so much going on, but it does, thoroughly enjoyable. The decor is ski chalet chic, with wooden floorboards, white paneling and minimalist decoration. A lovely, chilled out vibe in which to spend a couple of hours on a lazy Sunday

Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

Throughout our trip from Provence, Basque Country and Paris, I joked that they must hate me for ordering my beef med b/c it was so much tougher compared to our beef. Anyway, it's just different. We ate too much. It's a lot of food to split the cote de boeuf btn two. Comes with very good chubby fries and 3 sauces. TBH, I didn't love the sauces. Luckily we walked 6miles that day and skipped lunch. Started with a garden salad, but sadly we had no room for dessert. Reservations via email. We managed to get a 9pm reso, last minute, I bet due to a cancellation. They have 2seatings...6pm & 9pm.

We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. The free Cote du Rhône glass was appreciated for check-in! Our server had his head permanently at a 30 degree angle, staring at his mobile. Tis a shame. But he was friendly ( oh, and easy on the eyes). I liked the quiet location out of the chaotic fray, like up the street, with all its smoking and volume. PS This is lover's type of location.
