    Duck confit over mashed potatoes
    Ricardo R.

Located in a tourist trap area, however the food did not disappoint. The duck and chicken were very juicy and the duck skin was perfectly crisped. The service that we received was probably the best we received in Paris with the exception of the extraordinarily expensive two star restaurants. We asked for a wine recommendation, the waitress asked a couple of questions, and she came back with two different and yet very delicious glasses of wine which were also very inexpensive. I would repeat a visit to this place. .

Decent food, good service, and great location. We stopped by Comptoir du Panthéon for early dinner in August 2023 after a walking day in Paris and visiting Panthéon. We saw the restaurant right after we exited Panthéon, it was full of people, which was a good sign, and we went for it. The food turned out to be quite good. Not the best we had in Paris, but good. The service was fast, precise, and attentive. Overall, the restaurant gets a firm 4 stars and we recommend it if you are in the area. Food ordered Smoked Duck Breast Salad - very good French Onion Soup - ok Escargot - my wife liked it Duck Confit - good, though not the best duck confit we tried in this type of restaurants

Good location right in view of the Pantheon. Sea bass excellent Crispy chicken ok A typical French café with good views and food. I will remember this place anytime I'm in France because of it's location.

They have leeway to charge high prices for mediocre food because they are one of the only close restaurants to the Pantheon. Knowing that we wanted to save our appetite for better food, we split a croque monsieur, which came with a salad and fries, for about 15 euros. It was a-okay, definitely nothing spectacular, but exactly what we expected. They handed me the bill while my husband was in the bathroom (with our credit card in his pocket) and sort of hovered while waiting for me to pay. I explained that he had the CC, and yet they checked in again 30 seconds later before my husband was back from the bathroom, asking if I was ready to pay. It was a little pushy for my taste, and very unlike every other service we received in France. If you can, eat before venturing towards the Pantheon, otherwise save your appetite for afterwards!

My fish dish. If the sauce looks like vomit, because the taste of the dish isn't that much better than vomit

Warning! Tourist trap! The high ratings came from many years ago and do not reflect the current service of the restaurant. First of all, smoking and eating don't mix yet even if you sit inside, smoking fumes penetrate in because they keep their doors wide open. I asked for water and the server gave me Evian water while charging 4 euros. I could have ordered a glass of wine instead. Service was very slow, as other Yelpers mentioned. The server thought I would only be ordering water and no food. Only after I asked for the food menu then they gave it to me. A long time later, the server gave me complimentary bread AT THE SAME TIME my entree is served. Did I mention the server didn't give me any butter for the bread? Gosh he clearly didn't know the phrase "bread and butter". So either I eat the butter-less bread while my entree dies on the table or I won't eat the bread at all. The fish dish I ordered was bland and underseasoned. But they forgot to complete debone the fish. I ended up having 9 fish bones in my plate (see photo), 3 of which were not small bones at all. So in short, if you think this is French cuisine, then it's something to forget about. The only thing good about it is that it's close to Pantheon, but you should stay away from this restaurant because there's better options around there

Went to see the Pantheon and stopped for a drink. This French cafe sits in a location where you have the Pantheon to your right and in a far distance to your left is the Eiffel Tower. Cannot beat the view! Service was prompt and friendly. I would recommend stopping in for a drink and the food looked nice as well!

Worst meal I've had in Paris. I read some reviews just now (really wish I saw it earlier... Honestly DO NOT ORDER!!!!) Found this place as it is located just a few walks from Le Panthéon. The exterior and interior looked nice... But that was really it. My friends and I ordered the fillet and it tasted exactly like the picture - bland and tasteless (yes, I know those two words are synonyms). I spent a good hour digging bones out of my bones-with-a-side-of-fish fillet. (I'm serious. The chef forgot to de-bone. I almost choked on my first bite!) That was actually not the worse part however. The service was just horrible. The waitress was rude and not accommodating at all. "Can we have change?" "No" Did not enjoy lunch here. 1/5 is really just for the fact that it was walking distance from Le Panthéon.

I came here two years ago and ate duck confit and it was so delicious I wanted to have it again! If there is any other delicious duck confit I would love to compare it to this locations version because I enjoy this duck confit so much. We also ordered a steak and it was very bland and I would not get that again. The only downside to sitting outside is the constant cigarette smoke you will inhale as you wait for your food along with eating your food.

After checking out the Pantheon we stopped by here for a glass of wine and a delicious crepe. We were really impressed with the service and we managed to tap into some free wi-fi which coming from the US was difficult for me to find surprisingly. If you are looking for a place to relax, this place was really awesome. As a plus the bathrooms were pristine as well.

Amazing food and amazing service! The food was great and the prices were very good. The wine was also great! They also had an English menu which helped so much. Will definitely go back!

The food was beautifully plated and tasted great. I came with my girls after visiting the Pantheon which is across the street. Great ambience and service.

Very popular spot in Paris, one of the best steaks we had in Paris (which is saying something!), great staff, reasonable prices for the area, would definitely recommend if your in the Latin Quarter. Kitchen closes around 11 PM but bar was open until midnight.

Salmon tartare, excellent, goat cheese salad, so good.

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

When I arrived, there was a rustic table in the entry room where I was seated. I ordered an entrée of mini mushroom raviolis in truffle sauce, a plat of scallops over orzo which had chorizo chunks and a dessert of frozen Grand Marnier soufflé. The portions were generous. I enjoyed the mini mushroom raviolis and delicious Grand Marnier soufflé. The plat was somewhat odd because the chorizo chunks were really strong flavored which overpowered the scallops. I ate one chorizo chunk and pushed the rest aside. The scallops were cooked perfectly but not seasoned. The service was gruff/quite brief with dishes dropped by assistants. My biggest complaint was the stressful ambiance during the meal. It was freezing outside. The door constantly opened and new patrons came in hovering over diners in my room. Luckily I was not closer to the door and didn't have anyone over me. For ~170 Euros, the food was good but the experience was not.
