I read about Le Mil's--some local engineers opened up SF's first Indian coffee shop! They serve specialty coffee from India. Nice space to work out of or read! Cute South Asian decor and design. Clientele seemed diverse in terms of ages and backgrounds. Lots of seating (there's 2 floors and a nice comfy area in the back.) Service was helpful and nice. I enjoyed the SoFi (only hot, no iced, $6.50.) Will be back!

=== So wanted to like it more but experience fell short for me === This was SUCH a cute place. And I love that it was two-level and a chill place potentially to work. But too many things fell short other than that for me to love it more than three stars. + SUPER cute inside. Decor is warm, friendly, open. See photos for how cute this was. + Good vibe inside. Lots of people staying to socialize. Second floor had smaller groups and the occasional worker. It would be ok to work here because they have plenty of seating. I didn't look for outlets -- they didn't seem to jump out at me but they may have been there. + Great views of the staff making your drinks. And the process they use to make their filter coffee looks legit. - Didn't love the SoFi (Le Mil's Indian filter coffee). I love in the South Bay where the density of Indians has led to the creation of lots of Indian eateries. I'm not an expert at filter coffee but this one didn't taste like the ones I had in the South Bay. It had a much stronger spice to it, to the point where I really didn't taste much of the coffee. Felt more like spiced milk? --- Super hot and humid inside. Not sure if their fans/AC stopped working, but it was at least 5-10F hotter inside the shop than outside the shop, and quite stuffy. They had a tall rotating cylindrical fan on each of their two floors but it wasn't doing much beyond 5-6 ft beyond the fan. - Bathroom was out of order. That's a bummer if you're there for any length of time. Not dinging big-time for this because I'm sure that's temporary. Cute cute place. I figure they'll fix the bathroom soon, the AC eventually, but we may just differ on the filter coffee!

Beautiful space! I am thoroughly impressed with the attention to detail and south asian decor pieces. They're still in soft opening, but definitely worth a visit! I have never had an espresso tonic I enjoyed till I tried their Pink Panther & Blossom Tonic! The flavors are truly unique and complement the coffee so well. I'd actually come back just for this! Their spiced cold brew was another light, not too sweet and perfectly spiced option. I loved that it didn't feel too heavy. And last but not least, they're bringing filter coffee to SF. I'm not an expert on filter coffee, but this one comes spiced with a masala jaggery (reminiscent of chai spices). This is not my personal preference for filter coffee as I like it simple and sweet, but this is still fairly good!

Went there for filter coffee during their soft opening. Definitely a great first time experience Hoping to go there again once they have perfected their recipes. Its a very cute place. I wouldn't mind the serving sizes being a bit bigger for the filter coffee

We stopped by Le Mil's during their soft opening and really enjoyed the experience! It's a new Indian inspired coffee spot in the heart of the Tenderloin, and it definitely brings something different to the neighborhood. I ordered the Almost Latte, iced, and thought it was pretty good. You can really taste the herbs and spices they use to infuse the coffee, which made it unique without being overwhelming. My friend ordered the Pink Panther, and we had very different opinions on it. For me, it was way too bitter and reminded me of a Chinese herbal tea ! But my friend actually liked that hint of bitterness and thought it was unusual in a good way. The décor and ambiance are beautiful, modern, and comfortable. We especially loved the upstairs area. Overall, a fun and unique new coffee spot. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking to try something different!

Stopped in during their soft launch and was very impressed. As an Indian person, I've never been one for any version of tea/coffee with spices BUT I'm a sucker for a good cup. I tried the Spiced Cold Brew with the cold foam and it had very deep flavors, with the right amount of sweetness. They have a much more inventive menu as well if you're looking for something more familiar and the Parle G cookies is a very nice touch. The staff were all very cheerful and the spot itself is cute.

Saw the good ratings and rich coffee description, hubby and I decided to stop by. We found out today was their grand opening. I ordered my favorite Cortado and it was delicious. Hubby ordered the pour over coffee which was good too. We also tried their passion fruit and pistachio pastries. The line was constant and can be long but we were glad we found Le Mils!

SOFI - Classic & Mango Cardamom cake

Really loved the filter coffee and mango cardamom cake! All the pastry options were vegan, which was such a nice surprise. Loved the vibe and would definitely come back again!

I tried their pink panther and passion fruit pastry! So delicious!! The servers were friendly and quick! I went for their grand opening on Aug 15 and the line was out the door, but they were very efficient in serving everyone. I also liked their indoor decor. The ceiling baskets, elephant theme cushions, beautiful indoor plants and stylish chairs were also very thoughtful touches. They have some nice items on their menu, so I'll need to come back. Highly recommended!

the first and only cafe selling india-grown coffee drinks! gorgeous space with 2 floors but pretty busy even during soft opening. the staff were really friendly and recommended great drinks for someone new. we tried the sofi (south indian filter coffee, hot only, $6.50) and iced almost latte (decaf, $6.50). loved both of them, unique flavors and not too sweet!

Located directly at the corner of S. Second St and E. William St, this family owned-and-operated coffeeshop is in the heart of downtown. Parking here during any given day can be quite challenging; especially during the workweek as there are various offices around here as well as being in close proximity to San Jose State University. Business hours are 7am-4pm seven days a week. I came here during the morning of Friday 9/4/2026 at around 10:00am. Fortunately I was able to find a nearby parking spot but as a reminder, meters are everywhere. The exterior of the business showcases their business name complete with several planter boxes, colorful outdoor seating, and umbrellas to shield out the sun. The interior is small and quaint yet there is still ample seating for roughly two dozen customers. It is one of the smaller coffeeshops I have been to and can get quite loud. So if you're focused on studying or conducting a virtual meeting, this may not be the place for you. Since I was saving my appetite for breakfast somewhere else, I ended up ordering a drink. And to those that have been here highly praised their "Pandan Latte". This is Asias answer to a vanilla latte as they use sweetened pandan-infused extract to give it a very unique taste. I chose 2% milk and wanted to go with an iced version as it was a relatively warm summer morning. This place does offer many more unique offerings that include lattes made with banana cream. Piloncillo coffee (widely known as café de olla), and Madagascar flavors. Keep in mind that this place does not accept cash so make sure you have your cards ready to go and of course, they take Apple/Google Pay. I will say that my Pandan Latte was made to absolute perfection as the taste was not too sweet and not too bitter. The service was also above average as this small business had a very festive vibe to it. I also wanted to add that they sell a nice assortment of whole bean coffee, teas, and other various merchandise on their website, https://www.academiccoffee.com/ as well as in their brick-and-mortar stores. Furthermore, they opened a second location on Winchester Blvd/Forest Ave right near Valley Fair Mall in Santa Clara. With excellent service, prime location, and delicious beverages, I am giving "Academic Coffee" in San Jose a perfect five-star rating.

We were a group of 5 who had gone here for brunch and got a seat pretty quickly. The jasmine lavender tea latte was a bit underwhelming since it tasted quite watery and could have used more milk. We also tried the Cookie Monster latte both hot and iced - the hot version was definitely better, while the iced one felt a little diluted and lost some of the flavor depth. The croissants (which seem to rotate daily) were very well made and fresh. The avocado toast was fairly standard in toppings, but the quality of the bread stood out. The condensed Milky Way toast felt very comforting and satisfying. No table service, self serve. Option to order from a kiosk is available

I tried something new cause I usually love this drink: banana matcha, (Even though i originally came to try something else) but I was disappointed. Matcha flavor was really light and so was the banana flavor. It was more of a light matcha milk, if you will. I will come back to try what I originally wanted to drink (horchata matcha latte, I believe it was) cause I really think they have good drinks. I've heard great things from friends so maybe I just got a bad drink, off day, or because it was a new drink on the menu, it just hasn't been perfected yet? Not sure but just wasn't what I usually expect from a matcha drink. Other than that, service was great. The cashier was really nice. I was able to find street parking really easily as well.
