This place is a gem. We ate at three different Michelin restaurants ; and while this was different our most favorite of a 10 night trip. It was a small restaurant with 15 tables an a three course meal for 35 euros. The service and food was spectacular. Order ravioli with crayfish a great app. Don't get me wrong Jules. Le Hide is easily our favorite restaurant in Paris and we always have our last meal of the trip here. Exceptionally delicious food, remarkably reasonable prices, and great service. Ot my second review on Yelp as I am immensely disappointed in this place. Ordered the 3 course and the lobster bisque was bland and fishy. The veal was very fatty and was at least decent. The sirloin had to be sent back as it wasn't even close to cooked correctly, and again it was chewy and actually ended up making my wife sick. 3 servers, one was very nice (one highlight) one was ok and one was downright rude. After 2 hours and 15 minutes and still just getting the entree, we asked for the checked and said we didn't have the patience to wait for dessert. So sad, this place does not deserve the current review level it has. read more

Artful presentation, great wine list, perfectly prepared seafood and sauces. I am a student of beef bourguingnon and ordered that and it was fantastic. My husband had the scallops. This is a tiny restaurant- better to make a reservation but we walked in and were seated immediately - perhaps at the expense of a few who had reservations but seemed happy to wait. This is one of the more memorable meals I've had in Paris. Neither my traveling companion nor I were very proficient in French, but the incredibly friendly staff made ordering a relaxing process. The food itself was great as well. Escargot chopped with herbs and butter on a crispy piece of toast started off the meal with an unexpected twist on the French classic. I started with some mushroom appetizer and it was honestly the best mushroom dish i ever ate in my ENTIRE life. It was drenched in some sauce that was so buttery, so delicious, so beautiful. I had to ask for extra bread just to soak it all up haha. The whole time I was thinking, "can I ask them to just give me another portion as my main?" Anyways I vowed to come back and ask just that. sadly though, my main which was the beef bourguignon with risotto was NOT good. The risotto was whatever, but the beef even with the sauce was really dry. The sauce was also salty. So my rating for this restaurant is weird because I had to go halfway between the app and main. ps. the service here is great, the waitress was super nice and spoke english. The wine list was great and the server gave a great recommendation for wine that went well with all the food we had. Very small location, I suggest calling for a reservation but if you're lucky you may get available seating. Ambiance was great, service was great and the food was absolutely amazing. Scallops were so fresh and delicious, duck was great and the steak was so so so good! My wife and I had the misfortune of dining at Le Hide on Monday, October 12. The service we endured was atrocious -- by far the worst we've experienced in Paris or anywhere else in Europe. We ordered starter dishes and main courses. 20 minutes went by, then 30 minutes, then 40 minutes -- but no starters. When I inquired, the server who took our order said that our food was "coming." He didn't apologize for the delay. He didn't say when we'd be served. And he didn't offer us something to eat or drink while we were waiting. A young woman then came over, apparently the lead server that evening. Like the first server, she said our starters were "coming." I asked what that meant. She didn't answer my question, but said defensively: "Are you in a hurry?" My wife and I said we were hungry. She replied in a snide tone: "Well you'll eat." Her message was crystal clear -- my wife and I should be ever so grateful to dine at Le Hide, no matter how long we had to wait. Our starters finally arrived, almost an hour after we ordered. A few minutes later, the same woman came over to our table and asked if everything was fine. I said: "The food is good." That caused her to say, aggressively: "Oh, you don't like us, do you?" I told her that I didn't say that. This didn't satisfy her -- she refused to leave our table. She continued to harangue us while we were trying to eat our starters. At that point, I put my hand off to say, back off, leave us be, let my wife and I try to enjoy our meal. This caused the woman to absolutely flip. In the middle of a small restaurant, she screamed out: "Don't ever do that to me, don't ever do that to me." She then stalked off. My wife started to cry. The evening was ruined -- we ate our starters and our main dishes (thrown down by the woman) and left as soon as we could. I've since read other reviews about this restaurant. The reviews mention lengthy waits both to order and receive courses. And the reviews highlight indifferent service by indifferent servers. It's disturbing that a restaurant like Le Hide puts such people in front-end positions. A footnote: Before we left Paris, we dined at another restaurant near the Champs-Elysees. Chez Gabrielle was a great place. We enjoyed fine food and stellar service, two evenings in a row. Too bad for us that Le Hide didn't offer the same. read more

I'm a huge fan of escargot, but this was one of the worst dishes of escargot I've ever had. Then for an entree I tried the monkfish. Was here recently for dinner with 4 friends while visiting Paris. We didn't have a reservation, instead we just showed up. At first the lady at the counter was very reluctant to seat us because of our lack of reservation. However, there were a bunch of free tables to our right and the waitress told her in French that we could be seated. Good thing we were, because our meals were delicious! We picked Le Hide for our first dinner in Paris based on rating and it did not disappoint! The restaurant is cozy (~ 14 tables and four seats at the bar). We had a reservation for 21:30 but it was not ready so we spent time at the bar. This turned out to be a great place to wait. Since it is positioned right in front of the kitchen, we were able to see every plate coming out and get a good idea for what we'd be interested in. The friendly woman who was running the show talked us down in price to a bottle of Graves that she said was better than our original choice and we have to believe she was right. We were given a couple of small plates of olives and meats as well while we waited. We shared the shrimp and the snails as appetizers. Both were perfect! For entrees, we chose the risotto & chicken and the monkfish. The risotto was excellent and the monkfish was good, but the texture was a little off. Although we were just about full from everything, we had to order the Tarte Tartin. The warm apple combined with the cream and ice cream was the best way to finish out the meal. The atmosphere and service was top drawer at Le Hide. At the end of the trip, we wish we would have gone there again rather than trying new places each time. read more

Our first dinner here in Paris was at Le Hide. We yelped this place and discovered it was also listed in our Rick Steve's Tourist Guide. It was a mistake because we couldn't find another place just as good. True Parisian dinner. They offered a Prix-Fixe menu which we took advantage of. The menu changes so it's hard to give recommendations. They offered it in both English and French which is a plus. Some places don't offer that. Everything was full of flavor that the palate couldn't get enough of. I wanted more and see what the next dish was going to taste like. It kept getting better and better. I'd recommend this place to anyone that wants to escape the touristy food places on Champs Elysees, which are overpriced and not as good. read more

Saved the best meal for last during out Paris trip. Cozy little place that doesn't seat much. We went without reservations late at night (9:30pm) on a Monday and had to wait an hour. That was fine we just went across street to a bar and got a drink. Came back and our table was ready for us. They speak english and had an english menu so that was nice. Food and service was excellent. 2 or 3 course meal, our group got escargot and crab cake for appetizer, and parmesan risotto and beef stew, and lamb chops. All of it was excellent! It could be heavy for some but great for us. Dessert was apple pie and belle Hélène (pear with chocolate). All of the 3 waitresses we got were splendid, and attentive.
