This morning was my first time visiting Le Donut after a Google search for "cronuts" near my office. One of my coworkers mentioned cronuts and some of us had never tried them. She insisted we must try them, so we called Le Donut to inquire about them and placed an order for a dozen cronuts and dozen normal glazed for pickup. The cronuts had just been made and were piping hot. Yummm! She even included two bags of donut holes and an extra donut for me. Customer service was great. We loved the cronuts and donuts. I want to come back all the time! read more

Le Donut's Cronuts are simply the best. A wonderful young woman took my order for 6 Cronuts by phone one day in advance and when I arrived she could not have been nicer and more accommodating. Plus she threw in some complimentary donut holes. I love these folks and their Cronuts! Thank you Le Donut. read more

Great place! First, the donuts and kolaches are delicious, the jalapeño kolaches have actual jalapeños in the kolache, not a tiny amount peppered in the sausage like some other places. Decent donut selection, has everything I need without going overboard. Everything is a fair price. So far so good. In this competitive donut market, Le Donut stands out because of their customer service! The ladies at the front are so friendly and kind and are a delight to see in the morning. Will come back read more

First of all, I'd like to say that I've never had anything that didn't taste amazing here. It's hard to pick from their croissant sandwiches or their kolaches (sometimes I just get both lol). Their donuts are tasty and fresh too. Second, their customer service is amazing. Always friendly. You can't go wrong coming here for breakfast! read more

As an out of town traveler on the hunt for a sweet and calorically dense breakfast I yelped my way to Le Donut. Unbeknownst to me I would discover a life altering pastry: le boudin kolache. Boudin Kolache - spicy, savory, warm and soft. Like creole fried rice in a puff pastry, where have you been all my life! This thing didn't make the 8 min drive home. To be fair, this was my first boudin, but as they say, you always remember your first time. Thanks Le Donut! Donuts otherwise were good but not amazing, which is why this place gets 4 stars. read more

This place has the best red velvet cake donuts and boudin kolaches!! Like better than I've had at some places in Louisiana, bc the boudin isn't TOO spicy. I also love their jumbo sausage and cheese kolache (Make sure you order the jumbo one though, because it's actually sausage. The small one is more of a hot dog weenie) Plus, the ladies there are so sweet and usually throw in some free donut holes read more

I love this mom/pop donut shop! All the employees are really nice and there are so many choices (everything there is good) for an affordable price! They also usually provide a few free items with your order, which is so nice of them! read more

I don't get all the positive reviews. My teen and i made a 6 mile trek to visit LeDonut on a saturday morning, our mouths drooling in anticipation of all the goodies that the other reviewers mentioned. We were surprised to find the service very unfriendly. The lady and her teen son behind the counter did not once crack a smile, even though we were very courteous and friendly. Then the big disappointment- a limited number of kolaches and donuts. None of which looked fresh, or appealing. The deal breaker was donuts covered in peanuts. Ugh. Too dangerous for my peanut allergic child. We didn't want to be rude so bought some donut holes, which were cold and definitely not comparable to shipley's. Oh well... I just realized that quite a few of the reviews are from Asians, and this is an Asian-owned business. Hmmm... All in all a distinctly disappointing experience. What a snow job. read more

If you're on a diet or worried about your diabeetis, keep moving. There is nothing to see here. They have breakfast tacos behind the counter and the world's best blueberry doughnuts. And cronuts that are so good that when I was given a box to share this morning, I only shared half of one and ate the rest. And strawberry frosting on the cronuts that actually tastes good. This is marvelous because artificial strawberry flavoring is the freaking worst, usually. I can now look super-girly as I stuff my face with a cronut. I hope I can, at least. Basically, all of what makes waking up in the morning worth it is at Le Donut. From the sweetest service to the donut-induced smiles on everyone's faces, I am glad this is my neighborhood doughnut shop. read more

The first time I came here, I thought everything was pretty good (had a red velvet, sugar cinnamon, & glazed donut, donut holes, and one cronut). I went in trying not to expect much because some of the reviews went against the hype saying it's the best cronut place. Overall, I enjoyed it and probably prefer driving a bit further for these donuts than to get Shipley's (Shipley's is still pretty good), Then I went there again just two days ago but this time it was RIGHT when it opened at 6AM. I ordered a cronut, 3 glazed donuts, and a bag of donut holes. I had to wait for all three, and I wasn't in a rush or anything but the lady was so kind and tried to get it all ready. All three were literally hot & fresh, melt in your mouth good. I brought it back to share at work and my coworker was oozing about how it was absolutely delicious. The cronut was at least 5x better warm because the layers weren't as dense and it was super flakey. I have yet to try their breakfast like items like the kolaches/tacos/sandwiches that everyone doesn't rate as high but come on...The place is called Le Donut afterall lol. I rather be safe and go to Kolache Factory down the street since everyone's saying the kolaches are alright. But I'll try theirs one day. read more

Our area over here seems to have a good lacking of donut places as compared with the rest of Houston, which they seem to be in every shopping center. I live a couple blocks from a Shipley's, but I really would rather not. So I drive over to the Medical Center area to enjoy this place. Kolaches for me are just as important as the donuts for assessing the greatness of a donut shop. There is a great selection of Kolaches here. They put the cheese directing into the sausage. I highly recommend the croissant kolache, they are nice and buttery, yum! The donuts sometimes are nothing great to look at. They are mostly misshapen like what I would expect them to look like if I made them at home. Don't worry it doesn't affect the taste, it just makes me laugh. The chocolate frosting has an odd taste to it, so I don't get those here anymore. The strawberry however tastes like it was made with actual strawberries! Their drink selection is the usual that you would expect, sodas, juices and milk, but what Capri Sun too?! The service is great. They are always friendly and very happy. When we walked in today there was no one at the counter, but someone quickly came out. It made me laugh because she popped out of the back with the energy and excitement of a teenage girl getting to see her boyfriend after a long time apart, made me feel special. Oh and much cheaper than Shipley's as well. We got a glazed buttermilk, chocolate sprinkle, strawberry sprinkle, sausage and cheese croissant and two sausage and jalapeno kolaches for $6! So their window speaks the truth, people on Yelp love them! read more

Located on the corner of OST and Almeda, this new donut shop is easy to get in and out when you're in the middle of a mad rush to get to work in the Med Center. I walked in one morning on my way to volunteer and was pleasantly greeted by the cashier. The place was a little busy but as soon as I was helped, it made the wait worth while. Added bonus... the cashier hooked me up with free donut holes and a larger chocolate milk for waiting. Le Donut has a great variety of donuts, breakfast tacos, croissants, breakfast sandwiches and kolaches along with a fridge with many different beverages. I will definitely be stopping by here more often when Shipley's is too far out of reach! read more

Le Donut is a solid neighborhood donut shop that's money for medical center residents, workers, or visitors. It's located on the corner of OST and Almeda, less than a mile from the start of the medical center. If you're headed to to hospital to visit a loved one, I'm sure a box of Le Donuts would brighten up his or her day. The donut selection is stout, and for my money, I love the blueberry cake donut. I'd put it on par with Shipley's and Southern Maid, taste-wise. It doesn't strike me as overly unique like, say, Round Rock Donuts in the Austin area. Where they also also excel is on the croissant/kolache selection. It's quite varied, and they try to go feisty with stuff like boudain kolaches. The entry shelf shows you all the sweet tooth goodness, the side shelf has the salty stuff. Service is extremely friendly here, and beats the pants off of Ms. Grouchy Face over at the neighboring Shipley's off 288. read more

Best donut shop in Houston! It's small, cute, and quaint. They have a variety of donuts and they just added a new cinnabon-like cinnamon roll. The jalepeno kolaches are to die for! I personally love the croissant bacon, egg, and cheese and the chicken/mushroom croissant. If you work and live in the medical center, this location is so convenient! Yumm! read more

I know donuts aren't the most healthiest thing for you out there but there are times when you just feel like eating sweet fried dough food. The name of this donut shop is "Le Donut" but I don't quite understand why it is named like this because the donuts don't seem to be cooked in a french style and a french donut is a beignet. Anyways, this place is open early in the morning but closes soon after lunch. I usually have my donuts to go but there are several tables and a counter to have your breakfast. When I first came here, I bought a few dounuts from them and a kolache. I didn't know that they had two sizes of kolaches so I ended up getting a small one and couldn't have chocolate milk because they ran out of it. Another time, I ordered a bunch of coconut donuts thinking that they were the same but they were different variety of donuts with coconut toppings. Overall, they make okay donuts. Then again I think I may be biased since I was raised on Shipley's donuts. read more

I work in a school district and often have to place large order of breakfast tacos, kolaches, etc. for student award breakfasts. I always come to Le Donut, as I know they'll turn out a great quality product and a very reasonable price! . I'll typically call in large orders of 200+ breakfast items a few days in advance, and Le Donut has always been helpful in accommodating my needs and making sure everything is ready for pick-up at the alloted time. They even help me load my car and send me with some donut holes for the road! Great, friendly staff and a good, quality product. If they offered a bit more dynamic coffee selection, I'd be a regular on my own time for sure! read more

I read the reviews here and I thought I HAD to try it. So I woke up early to come try their kolaches - my breakfast food weakness. The staff was friendly and they worked fast. But the food was only okay. I was not impressed enough that I MUST come back and visit them. Sure, if you're running low on time, or if you have an office to feed, stop in and grab what you need. But if you have time to make yourself a sandwich, or a parfait, or to heat up a doughnut, etc I would recommend you do that and save your money. read more

Probably my new favorite donut shop in Houston. All the donuts and kolaches I've had so far have been really good. The ladies that work there are all very friendly as well. Overall a very cute small local business I'd love to continue to support. 10/10 recommend to everyone I know read more

I hate that my man and I love this place. I am not often a donut eater, but when I do I choose what some might consider an uncommon flavor, maple frosted. Le Donut usually has one ready (sometimes w/ sprinkles) if not they will make one. The donut holes are top notch (dear I say better than Dunkin' Donuts), they are always soft, gooey, and fresh. We live too close to this place for our own good, but I'd recommend stopping here next time you need an early morning office treat as the donuts are fresher than what you will find at the chains. read more

I'm glad I live close to Le Donut and can get cronuts whenever I want (almost). They do run out, of course, but I think they generally have it as long as you come earlier than 10 or 11 in the morning. I like the cronuts here because they're just glazed on the outside and don't have a filling, so they're not as sweet as other cronuts. They're also fluffier and softer on the inside than the original cronut, which is fine with me! You still get the buttery layers that melt in your mouth as soon as you take a bite. Their original glazed donuts are also soft and fluffy like the cronut. They're slightly denser than Shipleys and have more of a homemade taste. If you want something savory, I recommend the chicken and mushroom croissant. It's very rich and very tasty. The first time I came here, I wanted to buy some kolaches for friends. The lady behind the counter was not very nice though, and seemed really annoyed at answering my questions about which kolaches they had left. I picked out 4 sausage ones, which I thought would be like $1-$2 each, but when I paid, the total was $15. I was super confused, but it turned out that the only kolaches left were the big size, so they were $3-$4 each (which she didn't care to inform me about until I asked why my total was so high). And then when I asked if I could change my order and get donuts instead, she said briskly that she already swiped my card and she couldn't do anything about it. Rude :(. P.S. The kolaches were not that good, and I don't think they're worth the $3-4, even though I must admit, they are pretty large. read more

Yummiest donuts in the med center! The cake donuts are my favorite. The large kolaches are also a must. Everything tastes fresh! The customer service is great, the ladies that work here are always so nice. My go to donut shop for sure read more

Loved this place. Came in at 12:20-- 40 minutes before they close on a Saturday. They had a pretty good selection. Everything looked fresh like it is made on site. Very mom and pop look and feel. Had the last ham egg and cheese croissant. It was delicious. Even though they heat the food in a microwave it still tastes amazing. The donuts were also very good! read more

My Le Coworker and I were out in Le Area looking for Le Coffee when we stumbled on Le Donut (ok, I'll stop that.. that's annoying!) My coworker and I each had a cronut and a coffee... and they were both absolutely delicious. The place isn't much for atmosphere, but the people working were friendly and helpful. Great place to kill a few minutes before a meeting, or for a quick snack in the morning. read more

It's a solid donut shop. This was my stop when I needed to pick up donuts for the coworkers because it was on the way to the hospital. The donuts are fresh, the prices are right, and the staff are very sweet. The ham and cheese croissants are also delicious, more so than the donuts. I'd stay away from the sausage kolaches because they're so greasy that the sausage falls through the bread after about 45 seconds. A fast but good breakfast stop if you're in the area. read more

My fiance and I drive by Le Donut almost every day and think about trying it. Every time we drive by though, they're closed. This morning, I decided to look up their hours and with it still being early enough to go, see what they're about. I got a plain glazed donut and a cinnamon twist. The cinnamon twist was pretty good -- I think it could have used a little more cinnamon but that's just because I really love it. The dough was pretty light and fluffy and the glaze was sweet and delicious. The plain glazed donut, however, was disappointing. I had such high expectations, probably from reading reviews, and was left wanting more. I do think I'll go back though. I was feeling sweet today, but they have croissants and kolaches, two more things I love to eat. Maybe my review will change based on the other items Le Donut offers. A note: They have a $4 credit card minimum, which is changed from another review I read that said it was a $5. $4 isn't that hard to do -- I got a cinnamon twist, two plain donuts, and some apple juice and was above the minimum. read more

I'm a big fan of donuts. You should know that before I begin. I know a good donut when I bite into one. The texture, the density, the flavor all have to be right to get a good dount. And this, my friends, is a good donut. But it's so much MORE than a good donut. It's a good kolache too. Are you Texan? Do you know a good kolache? Man. The dough here is solid. Truly. Perhaps croissants are your fancy? They have those too. Regular sausage and cheese all the over to filled with chicken and mushroom or broccoli. There's an Italian one too. I'm known to pick up breakfast and lunch. Maybe you're not from Texas. Maybe you hail from Louisiana? There's a Boudain Kolache just for you. New York a little more your speed? There's "cronut" with your name on it. Come EARLY (especially on a Saturday). This is a family owned and run business. When they're out, they close. And they do indeed run out. It doesn't help to be in a hurry either. They are quick and efficient, but people line up. It's a donut shop and it's inevitable. There's "the chain place" down the street. I haven't been back since I discovered Le Donut. It's comparably priced, but WAY better. read more

This is the kind of place I think of when I want donuts. No frills, no gimmick. Just super soft and sweet donuts nestled into three shelves in one glass counter. They threw in a couple free donut holes which was nice. Not only was that super cool, but it figuratively and literally fed my addiction... Well played Le Donut, well played. They have kolaches, croissants, and breakfast sandwiches too, which they will readily zap and warm for you. They've also apparently ventured into "Mexican breakfast tacos" but I wasn't feeling brave and my stomach was already full of donuts. There was a constant stream of people stopping in, which probably leads to general pastry freshness. Only down side is the location, out of the way for me. read more

I never would have thought of a donut place as a pillar of customer service. I walked into Le Donut to pick up two dozen donuts to feed a group of college students before we set off on doing coming community service. I'd seen reviews on Yelp and despite not being a big donut person thought I'd give it a try. I walked in was looking at the case of donuts and the signs and announced how it was my first time (so they didn't think I was just unable to comprehend my situation). Rather than take the order of the person behind me and leave me to fend for myself, the woman behind the counter started telling me about the offerings while another employee emerged from the back to help the next customer. After selecting my array of treats, she threw in two other random donuts and announced "on the house." It was like getting baker's dozens rather than the traditional 12, something most donut shops just don't do anymore. While checking me out she also threw in a bag of donut holes for me to try. BTWs, they were great donut holes! While waiting for my students I decided to try the cronut, something I've heard about for years yet never tasted. It was rather unique and while pretty good, not really my thing but I'm glad I got to try one. I also tried the red velvet donut, OMG, try this! It has the consistancy between a traditional glazed and a cake, not as mushy nor as firm, but as Goldilocks would say, "just right." The moral of the story is, if you need a donut fix, give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.. read more

The donuts and kolaches here are pretty good! It's right on OST and basically just a normal counter with a display of donuts and kolaches - a few seats. The donut holes are soft and fluffy with the right about of glaze! So delicious and addicting! The kolaches are pretty good as well. Super convenient and super quick with its own little parking area right outside on a corner lot! Super sweet family owned business! read more

I can't believe I was remiss in raving about THE BEST DONUT SHOP in North America!! Seriously. They have a broad array of pastries, Kolaches, and Buttery Croissants. Absolutely divine. I'm addicted to the Cinnamon Roll ...ask to have Chocolate Frosting added ...swoon. Well worth stopping ...then proceed to Hermann Park to work it off!! read more

Stopped this morning because heck I wanted a donut!! Le Donut is situated on a busy corner lot, but heck what do ya expect in this area at 7:30am!! Walking in I noticed how clean & airy this place seemed. I was greeted with warm smiles & even better aromas of fluffy pastries being baked. Grabbed a coffee, sausage, cheese & jalepeno kolache & how could I resist a red velvet donut? Coffee was strong enough. Kolache was nice & warm, the dough was fluffy & buttery tasting. But OMG that freakin donut!! At 1st I was a leary because I ended up having to get mine w/o icing. The lady in front of me was clearing the shelves LOL. But I gotta say even w/o icing, that donut was delish! Perfectly made; batter not overly sweetened and not dried out. Le Donut def gets 2 thumbs up from me! I'll be back for sure. read more

Nice people , good service and good donuts and colaches fast service a lot different option of donuts

Le Donut is the place to go for a sugary breakfast treat in the med center. Its plain donuts are ridiculously light and fluffy. They are also neither too sweet nor too bread-y. The flavored donuts are good too, but only because the base model is great. There is nothing special about the flavored icing, so be a purist and skip the embellishments if you can. The donuts are appropriately priced at less than a dollar apiece. Unfortunately, the kolaches are simply average; they do the job of satisfying a sausage-and-bread craving, but they come nowhere close to the deliciousness that is the plain donut. read more

Really good donuts I had the "cronut" and it was great. We also had an iced cake donut and a ham egg and cheese croissant all were also good. Employees were nice and the place was nice and clean. I would definitely come back. read more

We finally got to try the much talked about CRONUT and... It's was delicious!! The fiancé had constantly talked about wanting to try one and the second we found out that Le Donut had them we made sure to be there bright and early the next day. The croissant donut in all it's glazed glory was everything we expected it to be, it's buttery flaky layers added an interesting twist to the donut pastry. Also, while we were there we had to get the kolaches, it is a must have for us. The jalapeño kolaches we got had the perfect kick to them and the kids devoured the croissant kolaches we order for them. read more

I was encouraged by Houston locals to try a kolache and this place was very close to my stay. The staff were very warm and welcoming. I really appreciated that they had two registers to keep things going when it got busy in the morning. The space was minimal but clean. You can tell many people were regulars to this establishment. I tried an almond croissant and a small sausage kolache. Both were good. The kolache reminded me a lot of a topper of Chinese bread I ate as awell child (read: it was good). Overall it was a good experience. Parking was easy, prices were fair, and they had a good selection. read more

Le Donut - Donuts Near Me - Houston, Texas

Y'all...I think they got Shipley donuts beat. I got the following: a cronut, cinnamon twist, and half a dozen donut holes. Cronut: eh...a little too sugary for my taste. And definitely not a Dominique Ansel, more like a heavily glazed croissant. Which, in essence is a cronut so... Cinnamon twist & donut holes are so light and airy. They are melt in your mouth goodness. Cinnamon twist isn't as big as ones you'd get in Shipley but just as tasty. Prices are great and the folks that run this place are so friendly! It's out of my way, but definitely worth the 10 minute detour. I must come back to try their kolaches. read more

I believe that this place has Shipley's beat. Sorry to break it to ya. They have the typical donuts and kolaches like any other donut joint but what really caught my attention was the savory pastries. For example they have this chicken croissant that was divine. Warm, buttery melt in your mouth croissant that was accompanied by this great seasoned chicken. My mouth is watering right now. The donut hole has always been a staple of mine. Two simple rules: 1. Must be moist 2. Must be glazed completely They hit both points so I was happy. With donuts just keep it simple, and that's what they did. Mind you they do offer the filled, sprinkled, chocolate cover confections as well. Fair in price and its very clean! read more

So happy to have discovered this shop! I'll be honest, the only reason I came here was because it was the only donut shop open at 530am and I was picking up some breakfast for my team before heading to work. Arrived a couple minutes before and they were already open and serving. I opted for half a dozen kolaches and another half dozen donuts. The ladies at the shop even threw in a bag of donut holes for free. My kolache (I got a jalapeno cheese sausage one) was on point, super warm and fresh, and everyone else was very satisfied with their pick of kolache/donut. Definitely on my go-to list for when I'm needing a very early morning breakfast/snack option. read more

3.25 stars. Le Donut definitely had some great service. We showed up pretty late in the day and while they were out of some menu items, we ended up getting a doughnut and a couple of kolaches. I didn't get to try the doughnut (which means perhaps it was fantastic), but I thought the kolaches were relatively standard. Both meats (boudin, jalapeno sausage) didn't have much kick, but I would say the bread itself was quite good. In any event, I felt I could get something relatively similar at most places that serve kolaches in Houston. On that note, it's pretty out of the way of just about everything so I am not sure I'd recommend it for someone who is looking for a great kolache. That said, if you are simply looking for a neighborhood bakery with a friendly staff, there is nothing wrong with Le Donut. read more
