Still dreaming of these egg tarts. I came here with some friends and we tried 5 different egg tarts and they were all phenomenal. We had the taro mochi, matcha, dubai chocolate, mango pomelo and caramel cheesecake. Some had the flakey crust and some had the cookie crust. I preferred the flakey buttery crusts.. they had a nice delicate crisp bite. My favorite was the dubai chocolate. Each were very good and depends on what flavors you like. We came late afternoon and they didn't have them all out for display, and we noticed they prepared ours fresh to order. I am not sure if this is always the case, but it made for really fresh creamy and crispy tarts. They also have matcha and hojicha. I got the hojicha latte which I enjoyed. read more

Le Cafe Bakery on Kneeland Street ended up being one of those places we walked into casually and then kept talking about after. The space is small but really cozy, with a warm vibe that makes you want to sit down and actually enjoy what you ordered instead of rushing out. We tried a few of their tarts and honestly, that's where this place really shines. The Dubai chocolate tart was the standout for me. It had that rich, layered texture you expect, but what I liked most was that it didn't feel overly sweet or gimmicky. It actually delivers on the hype. The ube cheesecake tart was also really well done. The ube flavor felt authentic, not artificial, and the cheesecake was smooth and balanced. It's also just a really pretty dessert. The caramel cheesecake croissant tart was definitely the most indulgent. Flaky pastry, creamy filling, and caramel that tied everything together without overpowering it. It's the kind of thing you keep going back for another bite of. For anyone vegan, the plain bagel is a good option -- fresh, chewy, and simple but well made. Extremely disappointing. I really don't know how Google Maps users gave it a 4.7? Bostonians, please eat something better... Caramel Cheese Croissant Tart: My top pick before trying it, I'd give it 4 out of 5. The cheese filling was molten and fragrant, but the downside was that it dripped all over my hands... the filling was way too watery and runny!!! The tart was cold, and the crust was hard and dry. Taro Mochi Milk Egg Tart: The crust was even thicker, cold, and hard, a common problem with petal-shaped tarts. But the more serious problem was its extreme blandness; the sweetness was almost entirely from the taro and glutinous rice itself, which greatly diminishes the aroma. New bakery that caught my eye because of the gorgeous egg tarts! There's an order kiosk in the front and a few small tables. They also have lattes. They're running a special of buy 2 egg tarts and get 1 free. It didn't show up as free on the kiosk so I just asked them about it separately but the cashier asked for us to put it on the kiosk next time so they can keep track of their sales- I guess next time, let them know the third one isn't coming up as free before paying? I ordered a hot HK milk tea and it was very strong tea flavor and not too sweet. I like my milk tea a little creamier and sweeter but this would be good for someone who prefers the strong black tea flavor. We ordered the blueberry, taro, and soy milk egg tarts. All of them have the egg base on the bottom topped with the flavored cream. The soy milk and taro both had some mochi on the bottom. My favorite was the soy milk, and the taro tasted the sweetest out of the 3. The shell is basically flaky croissant, so a little different than normal egg tarts but still good! The bagels were really interesting- some had osmanthus and the other had rose fermented rice. It's definitely a unique offering! read more

The interior of the store was a pleasant surprise--quiet, clean, cozy. Having the choice of kiosk vs ordering directly was nice! The cashier greeted me right when I got in and was patient with my indecisive scrolling through the kiosk. Everything about the service and ambiance was great!! Loved that there was such an extensive array of drinks and baked goods! I got the rose bagel and cocoa chocolate with added boba, and my friend got the osmanthus jasmine milk tea and taro mochi bagel. Both of us agreed the drinks were a bit too unsweetened; my friend's osmanthus jasmine tea had good floral presence, but my cocoa drink lacked rich chocolatey depth and the boba was definitely subpar considering all the boba options around us in Chinatown. We both also agreed the bagels were super creative but lacked flavor and didn't have the bouncy texture of well-made bagels. Will be back to try other drinks and see if they're any better! read more

I tried two drinks already, and both are great. Strawberry Frappuccino tastes way better than Starbucks. Iced rose lychee milk with sweet rice wine was refreshing with a strong lychee taste. The bagels are beautiful, but more on the sweet side than savory. I ordered a pistachio bagel. Don't expect the bagel to be hot, but still soft. Got there 930am. No pastry is available so dont open if pastry is not ready til one hour after!!! This really pissed off!!!! This drink pissed me off too! We tried two drinks: an oolong tea and a matcha. The oolong was pretty good, it had a clear, nice taste and didn't feel watered down or overpowered by sweetness. The matcha was a standout; it had a strong, authentic matcha flavor that actually complemented the strawberry really well. The one thing that took us by surprise was that they blended the matcha drink, which we weren't expecting. It was more of a texture shock than anything, but it didn't hurt the taste or consistency at all. I dropped by bright and early at 9am on my way to work to grab a drink and a quick bite. I was really looking forward to trying their hojicha lava bun but unfortunately they didn't have any in stock? I settled on a lychee cream cheese bagel and a strawberry matcha latte. The latte was solid though I could do with just a bit more/stronger matcha. The bagel was just ok. I will say that it's nice that they toasted it but the lychee taste was too light and barely distinguishable in the cream cheese and the bagel itself was mediocre at best. I'll likely give them another shot just to try their lava buns but pass on the bagels. read more

I was able to check out this place on a weekday morning after seeing all the hype about these delicious looking bagels in Chinatown. The inside looks like a nice cafe and they have a kiosk for easy ordering. I decided to get the strawberry bagel and HK milk tea latte. Unfortunately, felt very disappointed after trying the strawberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese. The bagel was dry and tasted like it was baked yesterday and cream cheese filled today. It was taken out of the front and put in the oven to be toasted or reheated, but didn't do much. I'm not a big coffee drinker, but the latte wasn't bad since it wasn't too strong of a taste. It was made with their espresso machine which didn't take too long. Overall, I would recommend trying a different bagel if you come to this bakery. read more

We visited this place based on an Instagram reel and decided to try this out. Needless to say, I would never come back here and I wish the owner best of luck. We ordered an iced Ube Latte, hot Creamy Corn Latte, Taro Mochi Bagel, Pistachio Cream Cheese Bagel, and was supposed to get a Bacon Egg & Cheese Sandwich. The iced Ube Latte was terrible. It was not sweet at all, extremely bitter. I confirmed that this drink should be sweet with the cashier. I let her know it tasted like coffee grounds and very bitter. The drink contained ube puree, coffee, and soy milk. I thought it was not mixed well enough, however that was not the case. The hot Creamy Corn Latte was also terrible. This also tasted very unsweet and somewhat bland. I thought it was similar to lukewarm canned corn water, however I think that would taste better than this latte. NOTE: Iced drinks are an extra $0.30 and hot drinks have no extra cost. The Taro Mochi Bagel is okay. It had no flavor besides plain mochi. It contained the mochi texture within the bagel if that is something you want to experience, but other than that I would skip. The Pistachio Cream Cheese Bagel was the only thing that had flavor. It had a hint of pistachio and a typical bagel and cream cheese taste. Nothing special. NOTE: Both bagels felt like they were reheated in a microwave then cold filling is sandwiched in the hot bagel. The last item we were supposed to get was a Bacon Egg & Cheese Sandwich, however we never received this item. We waited for 30 minutes and did not hear a call out for this sandwich. We went to the register to ask the status of this sandwich, and the cashier replied that someone must've taken this sandwich, however I never heard them call this out. There were probably only 6 other orders that occurred while we waited so I am surprised this would be missed/taken. Also, the bagels came out relatively close to our drink call out, but this sandwich was left behind for this order. It may be a good idea to write order numbers or what the item is on the white food containers. Luckily we were able to get a refund for this item because this never came out and we had to leave after waiting 30 minutes. The ambience of this cafe has a glowing, calm ambience. I guess it reflects their slow service since it feels quiet/calming and bright sun beaming through their storefront windows. I would recommend to install some blinds as the sun was extremely hot through the windows. Even guests sitting at the table closest to the window were trying to cover there eyes/head because the sun was so strong. I would not recommend this place to anyone, but if you have plenty of time to kill, enjoy sunbathing, and have a weak palate, this place is for you. read more

Was sadly super disappointed by this cafe. Service is INCREDIBLY slow and the texture of the rose bagel was awful and I could barely chew it bc it was so tough. For some reason neither of the coffees i tried on two separate days woke me up so I had to also get coffee somewhere else. They've been sold out of the taro mochi bagel for a week so I couldn't even try that. The rose lychee milk was yummy and unique but rly hard to drink bc the lychee chunks were so big. It is cute inside and they have wifi and outlets but they play the same 3 songs on repeat and it drove me crazy when I worked here for a few hours. read more
