Another 5 star dinner ! This was a small family run restaurant in Montmarte and everyone was so friendly. We ordered a nice bottle of red wine, escargot, and their famous beef bourginon (def not how you spell it lol) but it was truly one of the best meat dishes I've ever had . We were so full but had to end our last night in Paris with a creme brulee !

For our visit to Paris this time, we decided to stay a little close to Montmartre and one of the recommended restaurant in the area is the family-owned Le Cabanon de la Butte. Le Cabanon is a quaint cafe that specializes in traditional French fare with seasonal dishes and large windows in the back of the dining room offering a beautiful view of the city of Paris. We started the dinner with a nice bottle of French chardonnay together with 12 big stuffed snails in burgundy sauce and marrow bones with the salt of Guerande. Both dishes are delicious and we enjoyed sharing them. (for bone marrow lovers it's a must try-it blew me away) I then had the steak with pepper sauce and French fries while my partner chose duck breast with morello cherries and parsley potatoes, the dishes are filling and flavorful. Our waiter then offered some dessert which we graciously declined but on second thought we decided to have the freshly made hot apple tart with caramel ice cream and salted butter. Why the hell not? We were on holiday! Before the waiter handed us the check he complimented us with a shot of limoncello. It was a great dinner to be had while in Paris. Great view, delicious food, and wine, and friendly customer service, It can't get any better than that.

My companion found this place by searching for good mashed potatoes. On our Uber ride there I was like wow we sure are climbing up I wonder if we will see the sacré cœur? The Uber driver literally dropped us off at the steps of the church. I had kind of given up on trying to fit it into our trip itinerary but luck and my s/o were crafty. Anyway, the restaurant was about 150 feet away and the food was splendid. They fit us in even though we didn't have a reservation and the owner was sooooo friendly and sooooo funny. It was probably the best restaurant experience we had during our stay. I will say sometimes restaurants near popular tourist areas can be misses but this was lovely. The bœuf bourguignon was immaculate. I'm sure this restaurant had been open for many years. You won't miss by eating here. I can't wait to return.

This was our second attempt trying to dine in this restaurant and I was glad we did. We didn't have reservation on the first attempt and they couldn't accommodate us. We learned our lesson and made a reservation for couple days later. This place is on the foothill of the famous sacre-Coeur. Although it did not feel like a tourist trap. Restaurant is small and cozy, (although it can feel big compared to other restaurants around the area. It's a bonus if you can sit in the back where you can catch the night view of the city through the windows. We ordered giant snails (escargot), crayfish salad to start. The snails were big, and the favor was even bigger. It was my third serving since arriving in France and it was the best one. Crayfish salad was fresh and light, perfect before our entree. For entree, we ordered two beef bourguignon, grilled Sea bass and a burger for my son. Although everything was delicious, the beef bourguignon deserves a special call out. It was delicious. Serves in a hot clay pot, it was perfectly flavorful and tendered. The beef melts in your mouth and the veggie took on all the fatty flavor from the beef and the sauce and it was just a perfect compliment. Overall, one of our top meal in France and would def come visit again. Tips for family with children. It might say 'not good for kids', but if you arrived when they just open, they can accommodate without any issue. Our family of 5 (3 kids under 9) was able to dined without issues everywhere in Paris when we arrived when they first open (usually 6:30 or 7:00pm). I will surely miss this place. Can't wait to come back again.

Just left and I wish we had more time to visit again! From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and realized this was going to be a great meal. Had our kids with us and the menu had something for everyone. Snails were terrific but clearly their dish is the Beef Bourguignon and it was fantastic. Very good and a place you should go, you should probably go now!

Easy to find and right around the corner from the Sacré-Cœur. Extremely friendly and relaxed environment. We both enjoyed our meals and the location is perfect for an after meal stroll to view the Paris landscape. The waiter was extraordinarily friendly. He ensured we were happy and enjoyed our meals. We ordered the duck and the beef bourguignon. They had the best beef bourguignon, and it's on top of a hill in Paris so you what is there to lose?

On a recent trip to Paris, my sister and I spent a long, cold, windy day exploring Montmartre. I had heard of Le Cabanon de la Butte from some locals and knew this where we should dine. I had made reservations, which maybe was excessive for the freezing afternoon- there were plenty of seats! The bartender/waiter greeted us so warmly and gave us the best table- the name of the restaurant translates to "the cabin on the hill", so from the window there is a beautiful sweeping view of Paris. I had a glass of vin chaud and my sister requested a tea. We were brought a little plate of cured meats and olives as an on the house starter! My sister ordered the salmon and I got the boeuf bourguignon, which was utterly fantastic. Our wait person was so kind, it was a beautiful lunch. Can't wait to come back!

Great place for an afternoon meal. Service is nice and location with the view over seeing Paris is beautiful. Highly recommend the Sea Bass and Apple tart desert.

The service we experienced was exactly what you want... our server had plenty of suggestions based on the offerings of the day. The service was attentive and responsive... not much more than you could ask for. I had the duck breast being offered... it was served alongside crispy potatoes, green beans, and a salad. Adding in the onion soup and a glass of wine... it quickly became a King's dinner at a very reasonable price. I would be more than happy to eat here again and look forward to exploring the rest of the menu offering many local and classic French options.

Like others have said, it's super small inside, so you'll get to know your neighbors really well. But your attention will be more focused on the food they bring out. I had the lamb with thyme sauce and my wife had the confit duck leg. Don't be afraid to pick the sauce of the day over the regular honey sauce. The sauce of the day on the day we went was a blackberry sauce which was crazy good. With a bottle of wine at 24 euros and both entrees under 20 euros, you couldn't really beat a meal of that quality in many places around Paris for that price. It was only after I ate at Le Potager did I see it had a bunch of great reviews on Yelp. It's definitely earned all those stars.

Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

It's a tiny restaurant, so if you're a party of two, you might share a table with others, but they have spacers so you don't feel like you're eating together. Reservations were easy to make. You email in your requested sitting and someone will get back to you shortly. We were able to get in a little ahead of schedule and start the adventure. Wines were reasonably priced and they had a good variety of cocktails. We hadn't had French onion soup on our trip, so we ordered it as an appetizer. Sometimes it can get a little salty, but these were very well blended. Sacree Fleur seems to be known for their steak and frites, so we ordered the steak for two. Steak comes out on a sizzling platter. You can turn the pieces over to keep cooking until your preferred temperature. It was quite succulent and the fries were well prepared. There are two dipping sauces and some salt to season your meal. We hadn't a great time and way too much food :)

We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup.
