Very disappointing and not worth the hype. The steak had no flavor at all. I ordered medium well and got a rare steak; my wife's steak was also undercooked. Fries were cold a flavor wasn't that bad . The green "sauce" tasted like grass mixed with oil absolutely horrible. Service was poor; our server disappeared after taking the order. The only decent thing was the mustard. As a persons who gets overwhelmed by food options, this is definitely an over thinkers paradise. I love the menu and how simple it is. Everything was ok, even from the salad! I loved the butter lettuce and how fresh it was. We then had the steak tart dishes, which kind of reminded me of a carne asada street taco. A few moments later they brought our steaks for the table both medium along with their special sauce and veggies (tomato's, squash, Zucchini). The steak could've have used some additional salt but it was a pretty decent cut of meat, just wish it was hotter. It seems like the steak was prepared a little before the fries and began to cook off before receiving it. The fries were very crispy and we sled for ketchup and it was gone. I had the Bisou Bisou and it was such a cute drink. The wait staff is very attentive and I loved how they explained the entire idea of the restaurant and how food comes out. All in all, I have this place a 4. The price point on average ranges between $50 Per Person ( with drinks) . A cute date night idea if you need something light. However, it's not the most fulfilling. Its Boudreaux-red exterior makes it easy to locate. Inside has a French countryside vibe which offsets from the bustling people outside. You're immediately welcomed by attentive staff. The purse stands around our table were an atypical sight that most restaurants of this caliber could take note of. Amidst an ocean of restaurants waiting for you to peruse menus chock full of decisions yet to make, Le Beef's fixed menu is a fresh breath. After you choose your protein for your fixed menu dinner, the only other remaining choices are drink and dessert. USDA prime is what most at our table chose for their dinner protein. I ordered a bottle of Du Caillau Malbec to compliment we'll both our meals, hard to beat string fries, and artisan salads of butter lettuce, strawberries, pistachio, dried cranberries, champagne vinaigrette AND beef canapés. Just got back from a delicious lunch at Le Beef. The decor is Parisienne modern and classy. The menu is basic but the food is anything but. You get a salad, steak, and fries. The salad was a mix of greens, pistachios, strawberries, cranberries, and a vinaigrette. Light but very tasty. The steak is cooked to your liking and topped with their signature green sauce. The fries are thin and delicious. The show stopper though was actually the dessert. We got the strawberry cheesecake (which was light but decadent) and the mousse (which was so simple but so rich and delicious). Went into Le Beef on a Friday evening expecting it to be packed and surprisingly it was pretty quiet. It wasn't empty, but I was able to easily grab a seat at the bar right away and immediately felt the intentionality of the service. The hostess was warm and welcoming, and Kevin behind the bar greeted me warmly and walked me through the concept and the menu. First of all, Yes, there's only one option on the menu. Outside of swapping the steak for another protein, it's a pre-fixe experience. It's worth knowing that before you go so you're not caught off guard. I actually saw a couple look at the menu and immediately leave. Haha The meal starts with a few appetizers: warm bread and butter, mini steak bites in a puff pastry, and a salad. Everything was excellent. The salad was super fresh and the dressing was so good. I do wish they were lightly larger portions though. For a restaurant that only has one entree option, it better be good and they did deliver! My steak was a perfect medium, the fries were crisp and golden, and the green sauce is unreal. The steak could've used just a touch more salt, and I wouldn't have minded a slightly bigger cut, but it was still a hit. There was also this mixed vegetable side with tomatoes, zucchini, and squash. Apparently that rotates daily but it was really good as well For drinks, I started with the Cousine Marguerite (basically a margarita) and it was solid. Paired dinner with a glass of red (can't remember the name, but it paired nicely), and wrapped up with a carajillo and dessert. The chocolate mousse was so good! They top it with a flaky sea salt and it's the perfect balance and not too sweet. But the carajillo might've been the best part of the night. Whatever Kevin did, it was one of the best drinks I've ever had. The food was fantastic, but the service is what really sets LeBeef apart. Trinity and Alex were also behind the bar and just as friendly. We ended up chatting quite a bit, which made the whole experience even better. I often sit at the bar to be social, and it's rare to have a staff that genuinely leans into that energy. The best part is that The full meal is just $30. My bill was a bit higher with drinks and dessert, but it still felt like a good deal for everything I got. Honestly though, I wouldn't complain if they bumped the price up $10-15 for slightly bigger portions of the entree and appetizers. Came here to grab dinner with my parents! I was very excited as I have never been to a Restaurant dedicated to Steak and Frites! Walking in the way the Restaurant set ups is very neat with somewhat of an open Kitchen Concept and Full Sit Down bar. The staff were incredibly friendly from the moment of stepping in and took great care of us. The theme for this review is quality, attention to detail and how well everything complements each other. There was definitely a lot of thought when this prix fixe menu was put together, and restaurant was opened on how all aspects of the meal from the salad, sauces and protein would work together over the course of the meal! I'm not a salad person, and always get nervous when a salad has heavy vinaigrette, but this salad was all so well balanced, with the champagne vinaigrette having a good flavor and not being overpowering. The pistachios and strawberry perfectly complemented the flavor profile of the vinaigrette. Next you get a beef canapé in a puff pastry that was absolutely delicious, and was a good pre curser of what to expect in terms of flavor for the main attraction of the steak frites. I could have had snacked on those canabes all night. They also served a house bread that was delicious with a very light butter. Pro tip: save the bread for the end to suck up the juices from the steak mixed with their sauce. The main attraction of Steak Frites did not disappoint and I went in with high expectations being this is their menu only concept. There should be a photo of this steak for perfectly cooked, as this steak was precisely medium as I asked for with a perfect pink color. You get asked if you want the le beef sauce, which I highly recommend you do as it perfectly complements the steak. The sauce is has a very well balanced herbal flavor, that is savory. It does not take away from the steak, which was also perfectly seasoned and also pairs well with the fries. They also offer a spicy sauce, which from my understanding is the Le beef sauce with some added spices including paprika and maybe some more pepper. I might have enjoyed that sauce even more, so I recommend pairing your steak with that sauce too. The fries were delicious, with a great crisp, good seasoning and held in the flavor from the sauce well! My only concern was the size of the beef, as I like to eat a large steak, but although it is a smaller steak relative to me, would estimate around 6 to 8 ounces it had a very delicate profile, and was filling especially with the complimentary sauces. I left the Restaurant in perfect balance of full and not stuffed, as the prix fixe menu gives you just the right amount and portion of food. I did not have room for dessert, but will definitely try some the next time I come. Highly recommend Le beef, and again the service was fantastic from the moment we stepped in until the very end of our experience. read more

Loved the simplicity of these menu, did not love the execution. The prix fixe menu makes it easy to order because all you have to do is pick your protein (if you weren't already going to get beef or if your vegetarian) and how it should be cooked. It was odd to not offer medium rare. I just don't understand you can only pick rare, medium or well done?? The salad was good but it should've been tossed in their vinaigrette instead of drizzled for a more even coating. The butter lettuce on a plate did not make it easy to mix around.... now our star of the night - the steak frites. Steak was good but def needed salt, which is fine because personal taste. Fries - fantastic, no notes. Super crispy and delicious. The sauce is my BIGGEST irk. It's BASIL based. Which to me does not belong with steak frites. The flavor profile just didn't fit. Maybe I'm just being a snob and have had other green sauces for my steak frites but I just didn't think it paired well. It was too much basil and not enough of the other 13 ingredients. Lastly, the service. It was a random Thursday night, we sat on the patio. They poured our water and then kept it 10 feet away instead of just leaving it on the table. There were various servers helping us throughout the night and the "main" guy did say they were slightly understaffed. Which fine, I understand but not once during our dinner did our water get refilled. Again, could've just left it at the table. I maybe should've just gotten up but and grabbed it but why put it somewhere else in the first place? Went to LeBeef as they had an affordable dinner with good reviews. Was welcomed by the owner lovely lady exudes warmth. The table we were at was very cold. Noticed all 4 tables had people with jackets on. The waitress was pretty matter of fact- sadly a take it or leave it policy per the manager too. He told us this was a concept kitchen service so it all depended how the order was put in for order of service at each table as done by server. Our order of service was water, salad, baked canapés served cold. On request they replaced the canapés & it was delicious served warm. Manager called again then an irritated server took drink order & she said "the bar was backed up". No the bar did not even have one person seated at it, funnily the drinks were served in minutes. Next served was the bread & butter & then the Main course followed by 1 side & a sauce flight. Not the best way to celebrate a happy occasion. At least the wait staff attitude changed so helped make our experience a lot better. Maybe they assumed we have never travelled, when the Manager said to us "this is a concept kitchen" Sir we did our homework before walking in. Asked them to box half the steak frites & a whole order of the fries served. But when we got home all they had boxed was the steak & none of those nice string fries. I did tell the manager they sure improved service but it should be smooth & seem less. Would I go there again? $24 (lunch price) prix fixe steak frites. It's a simple idea and with superb execution. Steak is hard to impress with because it's fairly high margin and quality can be all over the place but Le Beef stands out. The cut of meat offered is not stellar, but they take a pretty simple piece of meat and do the very best they can with it for a reasonable price. I ordered my steak rare (pictured), my wife ordered medium rare (not pictured). I preferred the texture and taste of hers though so I suggest you give the chef the benefit of the doubt and order a medium rare. We went just before noon and there was no one else there. The server was very attentive to us and took time to explain how the restaurant worked and what was on the menu. They did ask if we had a reservation though, even though the place was empty. I can't imagine they get many reservations for lunch time, you can just walk in, but maybe at dinner it gets more crowded. The restaurant is not quite intimate, there's a good bit of noise even with a few people in it, but it's not so loud you cannot talk to people at your table. They play french pop music over and the whole place has a very Parisian vibe to it (except for the tall ceilings and high windows, so you can't forget this is Texas). The only complaint I have, and this has nothing to do with the restaurant itself, is the parking garage at Legacy North has only a single elevator, which was out of order. There is access from the 2f into an office building to the north where there is another elevator but if you have mobility issues and park on the 3rd floor good luck. read more

Very tasty complimentary starter (mini steak quiches), as well as a starter salad with just the right amount of dressing. Amazing thin fries, also seasoned just right. When I accidentally spilled my iced tea (served in a tall footed glass), three people instantly showed up to quickly, quietly, and perfectly clean up the mess, and also replaced my drenched salad. And, they offer a purse tree rack table-side! It is a very generous portion for their prix fixe lunch (we both had the steak), and we will definitely return! The small chocolate mousse offered as part of the prix fixe was just perfect for a post-dinner sweet. They add an intriguing touch of salt to complement the rich chocolate. Now service, it was easy to book a table for 5, I had to call the restaurant, they said they only have 2 tables for 6 people which wasn't true, they can push more tables together for bigger parties! They only have steak so basically they are cooking the same thing all day long! 4 outta 5 food was served and one wasn't, the server didn't even bother to come and say that there is a delay! We had to ask another server about the missing food! Then the manager manager came with an extra appetizer and apologized for the delay! Yet we were seeing other tables food was being served! Again, everyone is getting steak! That's all they cook!!! I had to share my food w my husband bc his food was not served yet! 15 min later when all of us finished our food, and sever still didn't bother to come check on us, we asked the hostest who was passing our table to check on our food! At this time the sever is even trying to avoid eye contact w me! The hostest said she will check, then she just passed by us without even following up! I really enjoyed my dinner at Le Beef! The prix fixe menu is simple in the best way--straightforward choices that make ordering easy. My steak was cooked perfectly to medium, tender and flavorful. The fries were delicious, well-seasoned, and not overly salty. The sauces were a fun addition: the pesto-hinted sauce wasn't my favorite but still good, and the "spicy" sauce definitely enhanced the steak--though the spice level is super mild, more of a little tickle in the throat. The mustard sauce could use a bit more tang, but overall everything complemented the dish nicely. My zero-proof drink, Douce Évasion, was perfection. I highly recommend it and can't wait to order it again on my next visit. We also had an appetizer (I forgot the name!), but it was fantastic and the whole table loved it. My husband and I chose your restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, and in many ways it was a wonderful experience. Our waitress was absolutely incredible--friendly, attentive, and one of the best servers we've had in a long time. I wish I had gotten her name. She was a shorter Latina woman, and she truly made our evening special. Unfortunately, the seating situation completely overshadowed what should have been a memorable night. We were seated by the window near the oven and heat lamps, and the temperature was unbearable. It was well over 100 degrees outside, the blinds weren't functioning, and the heat in that section of the restaurant was overwhelming. My husband and I were drenched in sweat throughout our meal, and I became so overheated that I genuinely thought I was going to faint. We had to leave immediately because I felt like I was going to pass out and get sick. It's incredibly disappointing that such an enjoyable dinner ended that way. I wasn't even able to finish the dessert we had been looking forward to because I felt too ill from the heat. Please address the temperature in that area or avoid seating guests near the oven and windows during extreme heat, especially when the blinds aren't working. Your food and service deserve better than having the overall experience ruined by something that seems preventable. We truly did love the restaurant, and we'd like to return, but only if this issue is taken seriously. read more
